We were tired of our hotel food so we decided to venture out and we are SO glad we found out about Pikayo. The food was wonderful, the staff was friendly and attentive. A definite MUST for anyone going to the San Juan area!

Great food, nice atmosphere
Really enjoyed Pikayo. My wife and I went there for dinner while on our honeymoon and the food was excellent, the atmosphere was modern, stylish, and vibrant. Dishes are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend it.

A Foodie Restaurant in NYC
Pikayo is a romantic restaurant with views overlooking the ocean and a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We stay at La Concha for my wife's 30th birthday and the restaurant was in walking distance. The service is excellent and the view is beautiful. Get there around 7p and you can see the sunset. We both did the tasting menu and they were accommodating to my wife's allergies. The food was good - not overly amazing, but it's certainly worth it of you're looking for a fancier night in PR. One thing to note: they charge $2/person for bottled water and don't really give you the option to ask for tap. If you want tap, make sure you say something before they start pouring the Evian. For 2 people, plan to spend at least $200 total.

Superb * Special
One of the finest meals we have experienced anywhere.
My wife had the classic tasting, and I was encouraged to create my own tasting ... their flexibility to accommodate was awesome, and I wish all restaurants could make you feel this special as a guest.
Every plate & bite were perfect, no exaggeration.
Quail, Tuna Tartare, Octopus, Foie Gras, Burrata, Scallop Ravioli, Tomato Salad, Shrimp/Polenta, Petit Fillet, mini soufflés. (do NOT miss the cheese soufflé)
The menu is large enough that we could have done 3 more tastings & not repeat a dish.
We travel to L.A., NYC, New Orleans, Vegas, etc. and make it a point to seek out great restaurants:
Pikayo just jumped to the top of our list. Go. Enjoy!

I have had many a wonderful meal at Pikayo, and the staff are always a pleasure. It is on the more expensive end, but so long as you are comfortable with that going in, you should have a great experience. The dessert souffles (chocolate and cheese/guava) are spectacular...if you are a dessert person, definitely consider giving the souffles a try.

One of the best!
Great food and excellent service! One of the best, if not the best in Puerto Rico. Higly recommended. Would definitely come again.

We have followed and enjoyed Pikayo and Wilo throughout their many venues in Condado. Each location has been a new and exciting treat. From beginning to end, every detail was handled professionally and impeccably. Simply said, they have never disappointed us. It's a "must go!!!"
6/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went to Pikayo's for our anniversary dinner. Very good service. Outstanding food. The tables for two are very close together and you have to listen to your neighbors conversation because there is no other alternative. You feel exposed and it really curtails your conversation.
6/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Pikayo was a very good restaurant, excellent food and good moody surroundings, only 2t things stood out. The wine waiter ( who actually was a very nice waiter ) could not get us the Mollydooker "The Violinist" wine firts time or second time but the 3rd time. The Capitain was a bit too stiif and the started cleaning our table as soon as we were finished with the course. But the food was very very good. Can only to be recommended.

Outstanding culinary experience!!!!
This was a culinary experience, everything was excellent
Starting from the Metrede Martin with a warming welcome,
the bartender Gustavo with the drinks while we pass to the main
room. The waitresses were also very polite and the food out of this world.
The dessert was delicious, and at the end, Chef Wilo came to the
table to talk and explained more of what we ate.
Overall it was a culinary great experience.

Another anniversary dinner
Over the years we've been to Pikayo for special occasions. As always we were treated to great service and consistently good and innovative food.

A dining experience to remember
Absolutely loved the "amuse buche" that was brought to the table when we sat down. There was a delicious blueberry gazpacho served in a pretty little shot glass. The flavors were vibrant and exciting. Followed by a plate of tuna tartare atop crispy rice "pegao" and mini tacos- both delicious. Entrees are top notch. I enjoyed the swordfish with gandules. It was one of the best swordfish dishes I've ever had. Service was extremely attentive without being obtrusive. Very lovely dining room; great lighting and ambiance.

This restaurant was wonderful. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The view was amazing. It is not to be missed if you are in San Juan!
6/30/2013 4:00:00 PM
The duck was absolutely delightful and beautifully
Prepared. The root vegetables and purées were to die for
Well done Pikayo, well done!!

Delicious, but pays to be a regular
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at Pikayo very much. We had the classic tasting menu and thought it was very well executed. However, when I compare it to the tasting menu at Marmalade a few nights earlier, it is clear Pikayo does not make the most of fresh and local ingredients as creatively. Also, as someone who does not eat meat, there was very little to choose from unless you also eat fish, which I do on occasion, so I was able to find things on the menu I could eat rather than have to ask for special items. Pikayo's menu is very heavy on meat. Also, the people at the tables on either side of us were clearly regulars and received quite a lot of attention that we did not enjoy. Perhaps such is better done more subtly.

The Real Thing:San Juan at its best
Best blend of local cuisine in style. Great at accommodating my groups of 10-16 for business and friends dinner. We try to visit every time we travel from Miami.

A perfect meal! Loved it!
My husband and I dined here while on vacation. Everything was perfect - the food, the atmosphere, the service...it was a great evening! My husband had the filet mignon, which was outstanding and cooked perfectly. My entree was delicious and could not have been better! Head Chef and Owner Wilo Benet knows what he's doing - everything was wonderful and we cannot wait to go back!
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very impress by the Pikayo
Outstanding restaurant in Contado, Puerto Rico. Everything we had was absolutely an amazing taste experience! My wife had the tasting menu...Superb Foie Gras... So tasty scallop ravioli... Most tender Mignon! I had the escargot... Magnificent... Specially the sauce! With the duck Magret as the main course... Classic, but so good!!
On top of all the excellent food, an outstanding service and a great ambience... The chef Wilo Benet was very welcoming and accessible! A chef that take care of each of his customer by personnaly go at every table to present the menu.
We strongly recommand the experience!

Another set of fond memories..
What can I say about Pikayo that hasn't already been said? The menu is well thought out, and not one app or entree or dessert item I've had is subpar. Excellent service, excellent food that incorporates my beloved Puerto Rico. I'm glad I chose Pikayo as the spot where I proposed to my now wife. Thumbs up to Wilo Benet and his talented mind!

A Meal To Remember
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary recently by having dinner at this spectacular restaurant. We were seated in a corner table for two, and the waiter brought us a couple of glasses of complimentary champagne. Great way to start the evening ! The meals that we had were fandtastci. Everything tasted so fresh and with such great combination of flavors. At the end of our meal, Wilo Benet came over and introduced himself and asked how we liked the meals. We spoke for awhile, took some pictures with him, and he also recommended some of his favorite restaurants in San Juan so we can try them while we were there. It was definitely a great way to end a wonderful meal and experience at Pikayo. I highly recommend Pikayo. One of the best.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
OUTSTANDING LIKE ALWAYS
My wife and I have been going frequently to this restaurant and always had an excellent experience. They offer some daily specials for fresh fish and meat cuts from Australia. The appetizers are outstanding, the pegaito, Raw Tuna over a crisy rice and chipotle sauce is my favorite. All others are excellent. The chocolate or cheese soufle is esquisite.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Solid Meal and Service
The food was very good but the price was a little high for the amount of food provided. The servings were a bit small, but the quality was spot on. The chocolate souffle is definitely worth saving room for. The wine list was also above average. The service was excellent! It was a great meal and experience but probably not equivalent to the price paid.
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
I was looking for a good restaurant where I could take the wife for a romantic dinner. What I found was a gem! Amazing food, good ambiance and awesome service with a knack for the finer details make this restaurant a must in the San Juan area. I highly recommend this one for anyone who enjoys food.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Best Food
This was by far one of the best places I ate while in San Juan. Now a lot of people say it's high I think it was worth every penny! San Juan is very expenseive any way. At least here you feel like your getting what your paying for. The view of the ocean while eating is breath taking! I took my wife there for her birthday I made a very good choice.

High Quality with no High Attitude
Had an early reservation as i was dining alone, and may have even been the first person seated. I was given a great view at sunset. MaitreD, Sommelier, and all levels of wait staff were professional and effecient. I knew that I wanted to try a tasting menu with wine, but I cannot do Reds; I communicated with my waiter and he had the Sommelier put together a nice wine pairing for me. All levels of service were friendly and after I asked if the Chef was on premisis, Wilo Benet himself came to greet me. Very personable - felt more like an old friend than such a world famous chef. The service was even better after that, including an extra chocolate dessert and an autographed cookbook. Loved the food and the friendliness - will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed Pikayo
Switched our reservation from 1919 to Pikayo at the suggestion of some local foodies for our big 10th anniversary dinner. We both got the tasting menu which was really good from beginning to end (the foie gras on plantain was probably the best single item we had while in San Juan). Sommelier and staff were fantastic - friendly and very helpful. Only reason it didn't get a better score on ambiance was the screaming baby in the dining room whose parents were perfectly content to let it wail away while they ate. Tough for a restaurant to do anything, but was disappointing on our big romantic dinner out. Marmalade doesn't permit children under 7 which I wish more restaurants would do (even though we have a 5 year old!).
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Meals at Pikayo are consistently excellent. This is the best fine dinning restaurant in Puerto Rico.

World Class dining in San Juan PR
I know the restaurant scene in San Juan quite well as I have worked in New York and San Juan in the luxury hotels. I have dined all over the place in the San Juan area and beyond out on the island. I am classifying Pikayo as one of the top dining experiences I have had on the island. I am used to the finer places in New York and this ranks with the best. Chef Wilo Benet really does a fine job raising Puerto Rican cuisine and Modern American cuisine to a high level of refinement. I had the five course Puerto Rican tasting menu and I thought it was extremely wel done. I look forward to a return to try the Modern American tasting menu.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Loved everything about this place - the steaks were amazing and perfectly cooked, the mini taco appetizer was outstanding, and the cheese flan with guava sauce was awesome!
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
My favorite in Puerto Rico
I've eaten at Picayo many times, each one memorable. We tried the tasting menu and were not disappointed. A wonderful meal.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
After we had eaten mofongo in multiple locations I wanted to try something a little more exotic. I had seen this place in a few YouTube videos of Puerto Rico. The food was excellent. Many of the plates are one of a kind.

Wonderful dinner AGAIN!
We discovered Pikayo a few years back when it was in the museum. What a fabulous find back then! We visit every time we came to SJ! Now it has moved to Condado, one of my favorite areas for a quick getaway, and it is that much more enjoyable as you can walk to the restaurant! The dining room is lovely, but the food is absolutely outstanding! We had the pork belly burgers, a fantastic salad, the burrata, sea bass and diver scallops and my husband had a sophisticated version of a pounded steak dish from his youth. He Loved it the first time and repeated his selection yet again on our last night in PR. The staff is warm & attentive. What a gem of a restaurant.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very nice restaurant
We went in San Juan on a recommendation from a friend. The food was very good and the service was impeccable. It didn't seem very busy when we got there, but it picked up towards the end of our meal. We had the tuna tartare, tomato and arugula salad, and the mushroom risotto. All were outstanding. We would return the next time we are in San Juan.
10/25/2013 5:00:00 PM
The "New Puerto Rican" cuisine. Innovative, interesting, daring in certain aspects. Knowledgeable Sommelier and top notch stuff add ton to the experience.
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
A smash in San Juan
What an experience. Every dish was better than the next. From foie gras to two different dessert soufflés, the food, service and ambience were amazing.
10/30/2013 5:00:00 PM
Pikayo exceeds all expectations! The service was incomparable and Chef Wilo Benet came out to greet us personally. The food was sublime, especially the foie gras and the excellent wild stripedbass, which was the day's special menu addition. Finally, Wilo's specially selected tempranillo wine was so delicious, we each took two bottles home with us!!

Puerto Rican At its finest
If you find many places today are all presentation and no flavor, You will leave here, Feeling very happy. Not only will you enjoy elegant ambiance, the trained service staff, and food artfully presented, but you will also be fascinated by this Chef's uncanny ability to marry unlikely food into satisfying, portioned dishes. Bring your date for a romantic dinner sure to impress and enlighten your senses, or bring your whole family for a special occasion where finicky grandparents and bouncing babies will be carefully and strategically seated to allow for a fun celebration without the usual "extended glances" from other guests or staff. No tríp to this amazing island is complete without at least one wonderful meal at chef Wilo Benet's Picayo.

Worth the visit
Girls getaway weekend. Emailed ahead that we were visiting and looking forward to our dinner. Received the royal treatment at the VIP table, with spectacular view and incredible service. All staff was very attentive without being overbearing. (Each of our purses had it's own stool!!) Food was good to excellent. Highlights included mini tacos, tuna, char, and desserts (carrot cake and chocolate pie/peanut butter ice cream combo). Lobster was a disappointment - overcooked and overpriced. Also a let-down that Chef Benet was not there. But would definitely return!

We really enjoyed Pikayo. My only suggestion to improve is not rush dinner time. Everything is great and should be appreciate slowly.

Enjoyed every aspect of our
Enjoyed every aspect of our meal. My wife and I both ordered the Puerto Rican Tasting Menu and even ordered an extra course and extra side for the entree. While we ordered too much food there were some items we just had to try. All courses were great. The service was attentive and friendly. This was our trip's eating highlight.

Fit For A King
We go to Puerto Rico once a year and always make it a point to go to PIKAYO every time. We first ate at this restaurant when they were located in the Art Museum. No matter what we order, the food is always fabulous. This time we had pork belly sliders and tuna tartare as appetizers and we then each ordered a different type of steak. For dessert we had the chocolate souffle. Everything was perfect. From the service to the choice of wine, everyone is there to assist you.
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
From the moment one walks in the door to the good-byes, it is memorable. Let theChwf take carw of you. Just sit back and enjoy, everything was perfect! Save room for the chocolate souflee.

We had a wonderful experience at this outstanding restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner. Starting with the corn chowder soup and onto the filet mignon, it was amazing. This restaurant had been recommended to us and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was very energetic for the Thanksgiving holiday, but the waiters and all the staff were gracious and professional. It was an added bonus to get to speak to Chef Benet as well.

A special place to dine
Truly enjoyed the exceptional service, phenomenal atmosphere and outstanding food in this great restaurant that deserves its reputation as a first-rate place to stimulate the gastronomical senses. I had the privilege of occupying the private room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with my family on Thanksgiving Day, 2013. Started off with two bottles of Moet Chandon, one each of the Pikadera and went on from there for about 5 hours. The 16 of us had at least a small portion of most items on the menu; all were outstanding. Finished it all off with one each of the souffle. I am very pleased to be able to endorse without reservation and will come back to PR solely to have dinner again with Chef Wilo who is clearly at the top of his game.
11/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
Outstanding Dining Experience
We started with amuse bouche of tuna on crispy wafer and a second of salmon. both outstanding.
The Portuguese octopus was delicious. The tuna tartar with wasabi topping in a yuzu miso broth was delicious.
Seared scallop over polenta with a sauce of jalapeno corn emulsion outstanding. Scallops cooked to perfection.
Chilean sea bass with a caper and raisin emulsion very creative and the sea bass moist and tender.
Lobster with yuzu radish, avocado and jalapeno emulsion and spectacular ending to a most memorable meal.
The decadent ending to this spectacular dining experience was the chocolate souffle.
We will be talking about this meal for a long long time.
Thank you Chef Benet !!
