Farm to Table Concept in Tucson
Acacia serves locally sourced foods as much as possible with many organic ingredients. Both vegetarians and carnivores will find something delicious on their menu. They have a nice wine list and an extensive martini selection. The service is attentive, but not overbearing and servers are knowledgeable about the methods of preparation, which is great for those of us who wish to avoid such things as animal based soup stock or gluten. Acacia offers a happy hour and reduced price wine days, too! It has a great view of the city of Tucson and the mountains from it's perch in the Tucson foothills.

Excellent Dinner at Acacia
Food, Service and Ambiance were all excellent.
Tasting menu with wine pairings was exceptional.

A friend and I had a lovely lunch at Acacia. The food was very good, but what I want to commend is the excellent service we received! Really, the staff was patient to take our order, provided us with excellent seating, and were attentive to our needs.

Our table of 4 took advantage
Our table of 4 took advantage of a 3 course special for $30. Two at our table had the salmon & said it was the best they ever had. My husband had the pork chop and thought it was very good & I had the short ribs which were also delicious. Our appetizers and desserts were also great. The only thing we'd suggest changing is the balsamic vinegar that came with the bread course which was more vinegary than most balsamics and distracted from the really good bread.

Some people get sort of stuck on a "column", give all 5's or all 1's. I don't give all 5's lightly. Acacia is nothing short of superb in every way. The service was perfect; the waitress (PI? server?) paid exactly the amount of attention to us that we wanted - didn't ignore us, didn't hover. She gave us a detailed description of the specials - how she managed to memorize it all amazed me. The food was unparalleled; presentation is easy enough, but the pretty arrangement was made up of food that's quite simply out of this world. End with the pineapple cake - run it off tomorrow!
My date and I had such a wonderful time that we accidentally stayed a half hour past closing, and they quite politely let us relax and figure it out on our own!

One of the most delicious meals we've had in quite some time. Everything was spot on. If you get a table by the window, as we did, there is a very nice view of the city of Tucson, particularly at night. It was a little bit loud with the happy hour revelers but still a great experience overall.

One of the best restaurants we have found in AZ in the past 40 years!

One of Tucson's Best
Our visit to Acacia was nothing short of perfect. On arrival we were immediately taken to our table on which menus were already laid out. Beverage orders were taken immediately and water and bread brought to the table. Our waiter explained the specials to us and gave us time to look at the interesting and varied menu. Drinks arrived in short order and were made to perfection. Our food was prepared expertly and presented beautifully. We could find nothing to complain about, and we are not easy to please. Service was supurb. Acacia will be one of our standbys from now on.

I had looked at Menu on line and was looking forward to a dish. It was not on the actual Menu. I selected the Tasting menu but one of my favorites was sold out. I didn't like the substitute as well. The "Tastes" I had were extraordinary with that one exception. The service was great and the waiter recommended a wine that we loved.
6/4/2013 4:00:00 PM
The restaurant graciously
The restaurant graciously accommodated my request for a window with a view seat as we were celebrating a birthday. They also treated the birthday boy with a complimentary dessert!!
6/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a very nice lunch of Cobb Salad--we all had the same thing and agreed it was great! Our waitress was vey nice and didn't hurry us as we hadn't seen each other in awhile and wanted to catch up. Thank you very much far a nice experience.
6/21/2013 4:00:00 PM
Timing of service and food preparation above average. Food flavors outstanding, prepared and portions perfect.. Filet melts in your mouth, probably the best taste I have ever had. Will return soon.

One of the Best City Views
Acacia has one of the best views of the Tucson city lights in the area and overall is highly recommend for both the view and the food. The waitstaff were all knowledgeable and attentive without being clingy. The one-page menu is mercifully short, but is varied enough to have something for anyone who has come for a good meal . Presentation of the entree plates was excellent and the food arrived hot. Vegetables avoided the usual restaurant sin of overcooking and came cooked perfectly with a bit of crunch. Our dinners were finished off with a shared piece of key-lime pie which was excellent and had a bit of a cheesecake taste and texture without being too tart. The rainbow trout was underseasoned, but even that was minor.

Always love Acacia
Acacia is our go to restaurant in Tucson's Foothills. We always know the food will be great and service attentive. This was a lunch visit so our guests had a mix of dishes - hamburgers, frittata, salmon and fish and chips. But don't tell anyone we had the Zebra brownie - it was heaven!!
7/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
expensive, but worth it
We ordered the "tasting meu," which included samples of two appetizers, two entrees, and two desserts. Also, small glasses of wine to complement each dish. Everything was creative, beautifully presented, and delicious. The server provided a lot of interesting information about each of the six wines.
The chef and server were very knowledgeable about food allergies and sensitivities. They were happy to modify the tasting menu to make it gluten-free. As it happened, both desserts were naturally gluten-free. The server also mentioned that I could call ahead of time, and the chef would personally construct a gluten-free custom tasting menu for me.
7/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was an excellent place! The food was great as well as the service. And the view of Tucson was stunning! Has been added to my short list of favorites!

I visited Acacia for LUNCH and I was very happy with Food, Services and wine. I had nice quite lunch there and enjoy my lunch. I do recommend those who have NOT visited.
7/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
I really enjoyed Acacia for lunch. It is quieter and more relaxed than it is at dinner. I will definitely be back. The menu had lots of great choices.
7/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice bar menu
Went for the paella special. Friends had the fish and chips. Good food but small portions. Wine by glass very expensive.

The calamari has long been
The calamari has long been a staple with Acacia and I was glad to see it still on the menu (spicy, recommend with their Gewurztraminer ) , while a host of new selections were available for every course.
Their wines by the glass selection was limited and only partially in stock on this given night (brought immediately to our attention by our server (well done)), however we were able to find suitable matches for our food, with good recommendations from our server.
The service was professional, yet outgoing and friendly; happy to engage with out humor and banter.
Food was timely, and well prepared. This particular night wasn't very busy (8pm rezzy on a Sunday).
8/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
My wife and I have had the tasting menu here probably 15-20 times in the past and it has always been good to very good. But this current menu is one to NOT BE MISSED !
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Acacia is a place to go for really fine food in a relaxed atmosphere. Oh, it also has the best views in Tucson. The wine list is substantial and fairly priced. While I don't normally choose food in Tucson, the salmon I had was wonderful.
8/17/2013 5:00:00 PM
Excellent food, service, atmosphere
We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately in a prime location. ( granted the we were the only ones there ) the table were all set and the whole place beautifully put together. Our server Christina was amazing! The food was quickly prepared and very tasty. The beer selection was great! The birthday desert was phenomenal! My wife had a very special birthday lunch .

If you are dying to dine out for lunch, but concerned about your waste line or healthy food options, try Acacia!
My daughter, state champion weight lifter, and semi-athletic, healthy eater me enjoyed choosing from numerous menu choices. The caprese sandwich, tomatoes, basil and hand pulled mozzarella, arugula, micro salad, olive oil & aged balsamic on Tuscan bread….. The fresh trout with whipped cauliflower, the frittata with goat cheese and fresh vegetables, the veggie sandwich. Our lunch was excellent, served by an attentive, fun wait staff and the view was excellent as we watched the enormous monsoon clouds building. Now I need to come back and see what's on the dinner menu!
8/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Chicken dish was changed with an accompany side dish of pea polenta instead of the wild rice. The wild rice is so much better and adds to the color on the plate. The chicken would be better not fried. The soup was delicious. Would like some better Chardonnay by the glass. We love this restaurant.

One of Tucson's best
Long time favorite that continues to impress year after year. A menu that doesn't change much--as in many of the traditional offerings from over the years are still in evidence. But they also stay in tune with trends and add new items that merely reinforce their kitchen's creativity. On weeknights, the quiet and serene environment just add to the experience if not the pocketbook of the owner. They can be proud they have endured all the downturns and fads and still have a loyal--and grateful--following.
8/24/2013 5:00:00 PM
Our server Jesse - was absolutely a gem. He knew the dishes/ingredients, how it was prepared, positive recommendations for how to best present it and very concerned about how well we were taken care of. Thanks Jesse!

Great for special occasions!
My husband always selects this as place to go for his birthday.

Great Place in the Tucson
Loved this place when it was in St Philips Square. Since it moved to the foothills it now has the addition of a great view of the city. The food is always excellent, as is the service.

A gem in the desert
Gasp-worthy views add to impeccable service and a well-thought-out menu. Dishes range from comfortable (Irene's chicken salad sandwich) to inspiring (grilled romaine salad and housemade pasta with succulent tenderloin chunks). Acacia's tomato soup is like no other (creamy with chunks of tomato and a crostini smothered with goat cheese on top). End things with a creamy slice of the housemade goat cheese cheesecake, which offers a different, delicous take on the traditional style of cheesecake.

Food was excellent, the server was attentive and knowledgeable and took our orders in a timely manner.
Our issue with your restaurant was that it took entirely too long for our food to be served. By the time we turned in our order until the food was served took about an hour and, for us, that was unacceptable. Also, there weren't more than 6-8 tables occupied during that time
My notation about recommending your restaurant is because of the food and not the service.
Ye asked and I responded.
10/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Acacia is still hard to beat for a spot that at lunch has a great room and view, good food, expert service. Menu reflects attention to what is fresh and in season, with old favorites.
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very Nice Meal
Took some out of town friends to dinner here and we all enjoyed our food. Tremendous cuts of meat!!!
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was delicious, better
Food was delicious, better than I recalled it from several months ago. All 4 of us thought what we had was outstanding. Service was quite good and attentive. I'll try it again soon for sure.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went for lunch & it was terrific.
Went for lunch & it was terrific. I had the Lettuce, bacon, blue cheese salad & added 2 prawns which were outstanding; it just couldn't have been any better. My friend had a salmon salad and she indicated it was just perfect.
10/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Disappointed to find they
Disappointed to find they were not offering their Tasting Menu
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Super spot if you want fresh and vibrant ingredients and a lovely view of Tucson from above. We'll go back for sure upon our next visit to Tucson. Strongly recommend!
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
We enjoyed our lunch seated
We enjoyed our lunch seated at the window. The view is fantastic! We were disappointed that our favorite salmon salad is no longer on the menu, but our server was great and "fixed" the salad on the menu so that while it was not the same as our favorite, it was quite tasty.
10/22/2013 5:00:00 PM
New menu items
Menu changes are few and far between here as there has always been a consistent excellence and tradition around their offerings. But some tweaking certainly didn't do any damage and introduced some new choices that are equally appealing. In addition, the bar menu is both modified and expanded so there are more casual options off the dining room. Solid service and a suitably priced wine list make this a tradition worth continuing.
10/26/2013 5:00:00 PM
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Great menu with many interesting items.
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
An outstanding experience
Acacia was, as always outstanding in every way. Our table was ready when we arrived, and service was attentive and flawless. The wine list is comprehensive and the waiter was knowledgeable about the choices. My wife had salmon and I had the Delmonico steak. Both were flawlessly prepared and served. Desert was also delightful. My experiences with Acacia have uniformly been as good as it gets. This is a gem of a restaurant.
11/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were in a party of 6. Each course was served to all in our group simultaneously, and, most notably, the server staff waited until the last person finished their meal until the dishes were cleared for the next course. This last item is a pet peeve of ours with most restaurants when dishes are cleared while some of the party is still eating.
The meals were also outstanding, but the wait staff (and whomever trained them) deserve special praise.
11/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
First time here for lunch, but knew it would be good as have been to Acacia for dinner a couple of times. Food and service were great. Will definitely return for lunches and dinners.
11/12/2013 4:00:00 PM
Glad I came back!
I had not been to Acacia in over a year, and I had been a pretty frequent diner when they were at St. Phillips Plaza.
We decided to give it a try for our anniversary, wow, I am very happy we did. Everything was perfect! From the greeting at the door, the prompt attention once were seated, the friendliness of the wait and bus staff. They were all great. And then there was the food...what can I say....how about the best meal I have had in Tucson in years? I will not give a food review, but will just say the food was prepared perfectly, my wife had the New York and I had the chicken dish. And the flavors were nothing short of spectacular!

Kentucky Bourbon Tasting Party
Other than a fabulous Easter Brunch earlier this year and a couple of early sunset dinners, I've only been to 2 of the Wine-tasting dinners and the Beer tasting one prior to this Bourbon tasting. They give me an excuse to come and mingle while getting to taste a variety of Chef Albert's wonderful concoctions that he dreams up to accompany the samplings. With its superb view it gives one a chance to enjoy the fun ambience of the lovely restaurant along with superb food.
Added note: the servers are all friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

One of Tucson's Best
Once again Acacia more than lived up to expectations. We were seated immediately when we arrived for our reservation. Drink orders taken immediately, and bread served. The menu continues to be one of the most interesting in Tucson. The Delmonico steak was perfect, and the double thick pork chop was perfectly prepared and delicious. The side dishes are interesting and perfectly done.
The chicken havarti dumplings with coconut cashew sauce are alone worth the trip.
This is one of very best restaurants in Tucson. Each time we visit we are impressed with the food, the service, and the ambiance. We have never been disappointed.

I have been to Acacia several
I have been to Acacia several times and have always enjoyed the experience. The food is good and inventive with great service and wine list to make the experience all the better.
11/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
Acacia is the best!
Food incomparable, selection remarkable, service perfect! Would recommend to everyone!
11/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
Our group of 6 enjoyed excellent food and wins with good service in a pleasant environment and with a stunning view. Acacia is one of the best restaurants in Tucson.
My only gripes were that as a table of 6 or more they add the 20% gratuity to the check and then leave a space forr "additional gratuity" It wasn't That good!
Oh, one other thing. We booked online and requested a 6.30 time but it only offered 5.45 or 7.30. We chose 5.45 however at 6.30 there were several empty tables. I mentioned this to the head waiter and he said that often happened when using " Opentable" So, Opentable please review your software.
