We wanted a special dinner
We wanted a special dinner to celebrate our son's graduation and we were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and the service attentive.

Great Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Cake was excellent, not too sweet, sugar and salt levels were just right. Fava bean soup was excellent.

Exceptional highly recommend!
My challenge was to find the right place to take a group which included my customers from Montreal and Paris, two very foodie guests. Additionally, one of them had lived in Prague for 8 years. L'atelier was the perfect combination of attentive service, flavour and craft, with Chef even coming to the table to chat with us. Brilliant evening and the entire group raved about the experience.

A wonderful evening
This was a wonderful meal in tasteful surroundings. Knowledgable waitstaff recommended wine that our whole table enjoyed without breaking the bank. If you are a duck fan, the duck and duck entree is not to be missed. We will definitely spend another special occasion here again.

Great find in Boulder
Recommended by a friend as her favorite spot in Boulder two of us went for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. The lunch menu prices are a bargain for quality and quantitiy received. The restaurant was very quiet on a Monday which made for a very enjoyable meal - my friend and I could actually have a conversation without having to shout over the usual noise and music encountered at most restaurants.

Perfect Place for Quiet French Meal
This was my first time at L'Atelier and second time dining in Boulder. Don't know why more people don't go here. Dining room was small, artistic, quiet - but a little too quiet. We were ready for a nice meal, but it would have seemed too stuffy to be in there, so we asked for an outdoor table on the patio. Perfect spot -- made for great people-watching and we got to ogle the dishes that came out for other tables. They set up a table right away. Service was polite and attentive but not overbearing. Wine always came right away. Portions were perfect - not too much. All the food we had was balanced and delicious. I'm glad to learn the menu changes frequently so we can be back sooner rather than later to try something different.

Just had a fantastic dinner with my dad for Father's Day. It was a real treat for a special occasion. Probably the best scallops I have ever tasted. The food is creative and phenomenal and the service is impeccable. I don't know why this doesn't seem to get as much attention as other places but I believe it is the best restaurant in Boulder! And I've been to them all!

Will return to L 'Atelier
My wife and daughters took me here for Father's Day. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. Before dinner we had the Foie Gras and the Cheese/Prosciutto plate. For dinner we had the lobster, the scallops, Ahi tuna, and the Saltimbocca. Everybody enjoyed the food and the one cocktail I had was well prepared although I would not call it a memorable cocktail.
The restaurant is attractively furnished and the table setting is elegant.
The price was half that of Frasca (across the street) and every bit as good. We will keep this restaurant on our list.

Two for Two
We went to L'Atelier on my birthday in April, and liked it so much that we went back in June. The June visit was particularly memorable. It wasn't very crowded on a Sunday night, so perfect for a romantic dinner. I had several appetizers--all of which were excellent. My wife's entree was equally superb. Service was great, down to earth and not overbearing. It's not cheap, but we feel we got good value for our money.

All around good food, service and atmosphere for a reasonable price.

Fun French and Filling
My Wife and I engaged the 9 course tasting menu, paired with wine for each course. Our server was absolutely spot on with the wine selections and it really made the food shine even more.

L'Atelier was great
We enjoyed everything. Our server was very helpful with dinner and wine selections

Best intimate restaurant around
Food is prepared impeccably. We had the lobster ravioli appetizer, Caesar salad, ahi and lamb main courses and lemon cheese cake for dessert. All tasted great. Presentations were beautiful. Sides with main courses are wonderful; e.g. forbidden black rice and incredibly tasty shredded seaweed (!) with the ahi. The server was helpful, but a bit impatient. The decor is elegant and yet unobtrusive. A little pricey, but great value given the overall quality of the experience.

Great morel tasting menu.
Great morel tasting menu. Innovative. Outstanding desert menu. Not pretentious. Fine dining experience.

Quiet and Elegant
This place is rare in that it is actually quiet most of the time. White table cloths and exquisite food. Also a great place for a romantic date.

Great spot in Boulder
This is an excellent choice for a romantic dinner. The booths are very quiet and conversation-friendly - Hard to find a quiet place these days!
Food was all good, with reasonably sized portions. Desserts awesome - save room!
Service was great - prompt and courteous.
Only quibble is that the menu posted on their website was 6 months old. Would be nice if they updated it once a month or so.
7/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
My partner and I had their Morel tasting menu. The chef did a fantastic job using the best qualities of the mushroom. The portions were quite large; bring your appetite. Our waiter was extremely courteous and not only aware of the menu, but the dates on their wine list. The only downside is the restaurant has some strange acoustics. We could hear quite conversations on the other side of the room as if the people were sitting at our table.
7/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is not a popular place but a great secret. I doubt there is a better French restaurant in town!
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food and service were all great. Wait staff were courteous and very knowledgable. Menu was long and varied . Selection was difficult as there were so many excellent appetizers and entrees. Outstanding wine list. A most enjoyable dining experience.

Had a special 5 course meal
Had a special 5 course meal and it was one of the best we have eaten in Boulder in many years!
7/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
L'Atelier never disappoints. This time the service was even more notable - professional but friendly and recommended a great wine when the one we chose was not available.
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
super mussel appetizer
loved our lunch here with great salads and appetizers!
8/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Superb in all respects
Excellent service, awesome food, great wine selection, amazing iced tea---didn't try the desserts but from the looks of them they were just as delectable as the entrees and the rest!
8/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
L'atelier in Boulder was great,
L'atelier in Boulder was great, as always! Radak and company did us right. I highly recommend this small, private, french/continental cuisine restaurant. Just far enough off the Boulder Pearl Street - Outside Walking Mall to be quiet. Look for the Ferrari sign just outside the entry way.
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Another Great Dinner
L'Atelier was just grand as always. the food was delicious and served with perfection. We'll be back many times.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Loved the food!
Asked the waiter for recommendations and really enjoyed the food he recommended.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
Hands down the best of the fine gourmet restaurants in Boulder when you want this level of food, wine and service. The dishes are just unique enough to stand out in a very competitive market. Simply excellent.

A Lovely Evening!
We started off in the small outdoor area, enjoying a glass of wine while we "people-watched"........and Pearl Street is a great place to do just that! When the staff had prepared our table, we entered the restaurant and were enchanted by the decor. It is elegant, warm, and inviting with touches of whimsey in unexpected places. Our server was friendly but efficient as menus were delivered and more wine arrived. We each ordered three courses; two of us were disappointed in the foie gras as it was really a pate, but the other apps got rave reviews. Salads were perfectly prepared and presented. The entrees were each worth the considerable wait.......again perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. I think we closed the place that evening!
9/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
I haved dined and lunched at this restaurant and its predecessor dozens of times since moving Boulder 20+ years ago. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. It is my first pick for a special occasion.
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
I dine out a lot and rarely have a meal this good. My wife and I had dinner here October 2013 and every single dish was excellent--starting with butternut squash soup, and fresh colorado mushrooms, continuing with diver's scallops and lamp chops and finishing with cranberry bread pudding and lemon cheesecake. Every single dish was prepared with finesse and great flavor.
The noise level was fairly high, but the ambience was still fine--we had a great meal.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was my second time dining here, and the food was just as delicious as I'd remembered it. We ordered the escargot and smoked salmon for apps. Both were excellent. Our entrees were the Monkfish and the Scallops. Again, both were excellent. The ambiance is ok. The seating is a little tight, so it wasn't very intimate or private and our table could barely fit the appetizers we ordered. It felt like we were in a small walkway, which was a bit awkward. Also, the decor is dated and mismatched. However, the service was very good and the food worth the tight seating arrangement. Well worth the trip and the money for a great dinner here. If you make reservations, I recommend requesting a booth or larger table. I wish I had done this.

Best Restaurant in Boulder
What else can I say. I have felt for years that l'atelier food is the best in Boulder. My recent experience confirms my feelings. The food & service was wonderful!
10/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent dinner - food prepared perfectly although it took a while to get from the kitchen to the table. Would definitely go again.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is our favorite restaurant in Boulder. It is not cheap but it is excellent value - the food is really good
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is the best restaurant in Boulder. The food is outstanding.
10/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Menu items all looked good. Our selections, Pork Saltimbocca and Lobster Ravioli were delicious.
Attentive service, cozy atmosphere
11/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
L'Atelier is a good restaurant with quirky decor. The service was excellent--knowledgable, unobtrusive, helpful. The starters and the main course were great. We had scallops which were perfectly cooked, the pork belly, and the steak tartare. Presentation was attractive. The downfall of the restaurant was the dessert. They need a decent pastry chef. Yuck. And the espresso was burnt. I'd go back, but skip dessert.

Great Birthday Luncheon!
My dear friend durned 81 and we had a terrific time celebrating her with your lovely atmosphere and service.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Excellent presentation but something missing. L'Atelier had all of the elements of a fine dining establishment but lacked inspiration. My party and I decided on the 9 course meal and it was very good. But there wasn't anything outstanding, nothing that really stood out as remarkable. On a technical basis the food was great, the wait staff was polite (though a bit inattentive) and if you are looking for somewhere to show off, this is your place. But don't expect to be talking about this experience for days to come.
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
My wife and I had an excellent dining experience at L'Atelier recently. The service was impeccable - the food was excellent. In summary, the evening could not have been better. This restaurant is always a delightful experience!!

Great French Food
This is the place for gourmet french cuisine. The ambience and decor are understated which lends to the unique nature of this tiny restaurant.
11/10/2013 4:00:00 PM
Service was especially good.
Service was especially good. The waiter said he was new, but you would never know it.
11/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
Nice and reasonably priced
Great place and it was not busy but service, although he was good, was somewhat slow for how not busy they were.
11/12/2013 4:00:00 PM
It was such a nice cozy resturant with great wine, atmosphere and food was absolutely delicious. I give this place a high recommendation.
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
Not bad, for Boulder
Great meal overall. Took a while for server to acknowledge and bring wine list. Good service after I pointed it out to them. Food was very good overall but the Lobster ravioli was lukewarm rather than hot - still delicious. Similar with my main. The steak was great and perfectly cooked but the pureed cauliflower was barely warm. I almost sent it back but was not in the mood for waiting or making my guests wait. Good dining experience but it could be superb if they paid attention to little details.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Food GREAT, Decor not so much.
The restaurant was wonderful. The food was fabulous, the service was good, but the decor made us feel like we were at a 90 year old woman's house.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
One of Our Favorites!
My wife and I love this restaurant. We go out to eat for only one thing THE FOOD! All else is irrelevant. The food and wine is absolutely outstanding.

Consistently Among The Best
My wife and I celebrated my birthday at L'Atelier. We go there often on special occasions because it's our favorite restaurant in Boulder - and Denver, for that matter. I clicked on "fit for foodies" above, not because L'Atelier offers a lot of unusual food preparations, but because it prepares the basic foods (lamb, seafood, steak, etc.) in the most careful and delicious ways. (Great sauces!) My wife had scallops and loved them. I had the rib eye and it was excellent. The wine list, while on the high side, is extensive and appropriate. Service is always attentive and perfect for a comfortable, yet dignified meal. The consistency of the food, drink and service is always top notch, which is why we often take friends to L'Atelier.

Dinner with wife and teen son
Great surprise. The food was great. We had the rack of lamb and the rib eye and both were delicious.
The service was also great. Our server was very attentive and very flexible with our special requests.
The atmosphere was very quiet, but it worked out good because it gave us 3 the opportunity to talk with out distractions.
