Nice place to go before a soirée
We had a good time my husband and I. Good food. I would have appreciated more choices of wine by the glass (Only 3 choices).
Perfect service. We will recommend.

Coming from chicago, a place
Coming from chicago, a place where there are more michelin stars than there are starbucks, it was refreshing to find communion. there are lots of good eats in montreal, but few that take both the atmosphere and the food to the next level without charging obnoxious prices. Very cool vibe, very friendly and down-to-earth staff, simple and delicious food. Definitely fit for foodies. B+

The starters were great, the main courses were good.
There's more than enough food in each plate.
There's always a vegetarian option.
Good experience overall.

The great outdoors.
If you enjoy outdoor dining, this is a great place to stop by. Plenty of room and a comfortable setting. The food however was just okay. We took the table d’hôte. Started off with the amuse-bouche. Fig stuffed with meat, served on a horseradish sauce with slivers of almonds was really good. The Arugula salad with bits of sausage was interesting. I like Arugula so hard to not to like the salad. But the chicken with eggplant puree was a bit bland. I was hoping for a smokey taste to the chicken but didn't fine anything special about it. Overall I like the place for it's atmosphere. I'd give them a second try. 2 out of 3 dishes were good so still in their favour.

Delicious Meal & Friendly Service
We had a wonderful evening at Communion. The meal was delicious, particularly the special entree and main course of the day. The service was exceptionally friendly yet very professional, and the ambience was social but not too loud which was nice so that you could have conversation without loud music or neighbours. I look forward to returning !

Outdoor restaurant indoor
Communion has a well deserved reputation as a sit-bt-the-waterh outdoor restaurant/cafe where the outdoors are an integral part of the summer ambiance. We came on a rainy day, sat inside, and were delighted. Our waiter could not have been more attentive or helpful. The wine list was rich in content, reasonable in price. And we were thrilled with our food--steak tartare, foie gras and, oddly, one vegetable salad. And a big picture window brought the outsides in, so we didn't miss a trick, even in the rain.

We were 6 girls and still we manage to talk and share because the noise level was perfect. There were many families with young kids and even a couple with a dog and we never felt incommoded. Neither we think that they were with us! It is a happy shared space with a lovely terrace. The white sangria was good, the TH was well balanced with 3 options and in general we had a great time.

An old country house, Old Montreal
Wonderful little building, good outdoor patio. Very reasonable three-course prix fixe for $33. Friendly wait staff. We sat in a small room inside the building, stone walls exposed. Excellent food, all four of us agreed.

Always a good place for brunch.
Except that proportion are cut by half in summer...

Old port brunch
Six of us had brunch at the Communion Restaurant last Saturday. It was my second visit there. As on my first visit, the food was excellent. The wait staff were friendly, helpful and patient (we had a three year old with us). We sat outside to enjoy true sights of Old Port. I strongly recommend doing so. My only regret was that one patron was smoking. That was a damper for me. I suggest that for brunch and lunch, smoking should be banned, even outdoors.

Dined here recently and in almost all aspects the evening was quite enjoyable The only negative was the veal sirloin which was not as tender as it should have been, possibly because it came more medium than the medium rare requested. The $33.00 two course Table d'hote is a nice option.

An absolute gem!
How could anyone not love this place? The old Montreal charm by the port, mixed with a rustic interior and a modern twist on traditional food make Communion and absolutely wonderful place to dine for tourists and locals a like. Will definitely be back!

Best brunch ever
This restaurant in Old Montreal is in a beautiful location near the water where you can watch the people and horses go by. We ordered a brunch that came with poached eggs on a delicious spinach salad, fresh fruit salad, a yogurt parfait with homemade strawberry jam and the best granola, blueberry pancakes and a goblet of warm maple syrup. Before that came out we got a basket of toasted french bread and sesame bagel with homemade jam. My cappucino and my daughter's hot chocolate (also both fantastic) didn't come right away (they came with our meals), so the server brought us complimenatry freshly squeezed orange juice (which my daughter enjoyed watching get made). The brunch kept us full for six hours as we walked all over Montreal!
