Nice Scott Circle Find
Nags is attached tote Marriott Courtyard, so the entry and space is hotelish. The food and service belie the location. Waitstaff was friendly, engaged and knowledgable. The wine list is small but complete. The leek and potato soup was outstanding. The homemade meatloaf was succulent and flavorful and the lamb shank was served with exactly the right vegetables and finished with a youghert/cucumber sauce. We will be back.

Family getaway groupon deal
The food was reasonably portioned. It also had a cozy feeling to it, not so large that you felt lost amongst other customers

At Nage I was there for my wife's birthday. I have never felt more cared for then I did any Nage. Atmosphere was romantic, food was amazing! We lo end our experience there.

This hidden gem is one of my favorite spots for a nice quiet dinner. The chef has just the right touch when it comes to blending flavors. Case in point: the gyoza are incredible, as is roasted rainbow trout. The crab cakes are packed with huge pieces of fresh crab that have enough flavor so little embellishment is required.
It's not a vibrant bar scene. If you want that, head to 14th St. If you want to hold a conversation over a tasty meal, come to Nage.

As always Nage is very good, though I do find it a bit pricey for a hotel bistro. Also, the renovation is nice, but it has made the restaurant quite a bit noisier than it used to be.

The warm vegetable salad was amazing. I had it with grilled shrimp and it was delightful. The potato leek soup I could probably pass on next time. It was just ok. The service was notably spectacular. Thanks for a great experience.

Our waiter was fantastic.
Our waiter was fantastic. Group of 5 women. Need I say more! He was patient, gave great advice and was very pleasant. The welcome was warm. Food was great. Love, love love the french onion soup. No one had leftovers, that in and of itself is unusual for our group. The chocolate dessert. WOW! Parking was great on the street after 6:30pm.
4/4/2013 4:00:00 PM
LOVED the Lemon Zest pancakes! Brunch here is underrated. I'll definitely be back.

Great food. Great atmosphere not outrageously expensive either

The food was good and the waitstaff was wonderful. We arrived for dinner in not the best of moods and the waiter had us smiling and happy by the time we left. The smores creme brule was a great way to finish off the meal!

Great service and good food.
Great service and good food. It's in the lobby of a hotel so it's not the place to take someone to impress them. We took a group of 6 adults and 2 kids. Everyone ate well and was comfortable. Bottomless mimosas with lots of variety in flavors and generous servings. Not too shabby.

Quite an attractive atmosphere, and an attentitve staff. I went for Meatless Mondays and was underwhelemed by the menu, unfortunately. Good food, just a meager selection...

Wonderful lobster mac n cheese!
Wonderful lobster mac n cheese! There were 5 of us and we ordered a wide range of small plates, entrees and desserts. The small plates were actually quite large and extremely flavorful. The shrimp with anchovy aioli was very good and the warm salad very flavorful. The goat cheese gnocchi was excellent with just enough spice but not overwhelming. The rack of lamb was tender. We are crab cake snobs so the crabcakes were good but not the highlight although the diced sweet potatoes were a great accompaniment. Our second time there and we will return. Noise level rises as the room fills but you can still hold a conversation without screaming across the table.
The service was very good and our waiter joined with our insanity!
4/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
The restaurant is small, on the edge of the lobby of a hotel. Great location and nice ambiance and the Wait Staff was friendly. The menu is very eclectic and imaginitive. The food was fresh and very tasty, not over-seasoned. Prices were good.

I usually avoid retaurants
I usually avoid retaurants in hotels, but this was a great surprise. Nage is a small, intimate restaurant tucked into the Courtyard by Marriott. The food was phenomenal! I had the mushroom baklava as an appetizer, which was to die for, and my husband had what he called the "Best french onion soup this side of Paris". Our main courses also were great! He had the schnitzel, and I had the steak-frites. Both were outstanding! We finished off the meal with the mixed berry cobbler. Wonderful find. Street parking was fairly plentiful around the corner.
5/17/2013 4:00:00 PM
You don't have high expectations of restaurants in a Courtyard Hotel, but this is an exception. Excellent food and service - specializing in seafood.

Nage is a casual, comfortable
Nage is a casual, comfortable place that features a short but varied menu. I enjoyed a pan sauteed bronzino in a spring pea sauce that was very good and my dining companion enjoyed two large crab cakes chockful of crab. Friendly and helpful service and nice ambience.
5/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
Our waiter was a fun guy. Liked him and your restaurant. Especially liked the warm vegatable appetizer. Had your mushroom with blueberries and cheese a few weeks ago. Thought there were too many tastes put together. Would have liked more mushrooms and a mushroom toping. No cheese, no berries.
5/30/2013 4:00:00 PM
The menu is not extensive, but the food is very good. The fried catfish sandwich and the rainbow trout were delicious. I also would recommend the grilled shrimp appetizer. It seemed to take a long time for my glass of wine to arrive, but that's my only complaint. After that, the wait staff was attentive and I look forward to going back.

Marvelous mordern kitchen with seasonal products. Nice wine list with a lot of wines by glass. Good atmosphere in the restaurant but one negative point: it was terribly cold; take a sweat !

Was very impressed with my dinner here. Lovely combination of flavors on all dishes that we had. The dressings and sauces were amazing. We had to soak them up with our bread to get every last drop. Will definitely be back to try some more items on the menu.

I'll be back
Everything was quite good and reasonably priced. It was very quiet on the Friday after the 4th of July. I will try again on a regular work day to see how the service and food are on a busier day.
7/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Despite the service being a little bit slow, the food was beautifully prepared and delicious. I enjoyed the crab cakes which were light and melt in the mouth. My companion said the lamb was perfectly done. Appetizers of calimari and shrimp are both great choices.

Unpretentious But Fabulous
My wife and I love Nage. It has become one of our favorite go-to places. It is very unassuming, and always delivers a high quality dining experience. When we meet our kids there, it's great to share the Lobster Mac N' Cheese as an appetizer because everyone loves it. Without them, we skipped this dish for some other choices we wanted to try. Similarly, the Wild Mushroom Appetizer is also a long-time favorite that first timers shouldn't miss. We split the Crab Cakes, some apps and salads and everything was cooked very, very well; the Crab Cakes are excellent. The Bibb Salad special was terrific and they have a great wine list by the glass with some interesting choices.
Server was fabulous

Surprise - Its a Hotel Restaurant
Was very surprised, haven't always had a great deal of luck with restaurants inside of hotels. But this one was great. The start was a bit rocky, no hostess so when you walk in it can be confusing if you are in the hotel bar, or Nage the restaurant.... But once seated it goes much better from there. Started off with Calamari, it was one of the best we have ever had. Our server was personal, funny and very accommodating. The meal finished off with a fantastic throw back to old days - a riff on smores! It was fantastic.
7/11/2013 5:00:00 PM
Nage was the last livingsocial deal we had. I had been so hesitant to use it. I WAS SO WRONG. The food was delicious. The service was passable, but could be improved. This said, overall, the deal and food was overall 100% worth it!!! I highly suggest it for any and all.

Great seafood restaurant
I went with 5 other people on a Sunday night. I had been before when the decor reminded me of an old Howard Johnson's ice cream parlor restaurant (plastic and bright orange). I was pleased with the updated decor in muted tones and wood. All of us liked our entrees and they were able to adjust some of the dishes to accommodate food preferences (e.g. omitting certain vegetables from something). The bread was excellent but they don't serve it unless you ask for it. It did seem to take a long time to get our drinks after we ordered them but overall the service was very good. The restaurant wasn't that busy so we didn't feel uncomfortable lingering for over 2 hrs and we weren't rushed out by the server or host.

One of our neighborhood favorites that is consistently reliable. They always have a reasonable veg friendly selection for the vegans among us. Food is always good. I've got a yen for their french onion soup. Crabcake entree had 3 nice size cakes and came w/ a grilled corn. She loves their house made veggie burger (some places just buy them out of the box).

Nage is a find. Good food, pleasant atmosphere, great service. This was my third time, I have had three different meals, all very good and great coffee!

Good location, food and service.
We went for Restaurant Week and were impressed with the food and service at Nage. The appetizer one of us had (shrimp and grits) was especially excellent. Both main courses were very good too. The desserts were probably very good...but by that time we could not do justice to them as the first two courses were more than enough food. We were also impressed that Nage did not skimp on the food offered for Restaurant Week (as some other restaurants do). Nage let you choose almost any item from their regular lunch menu. In addition, the service was both friendly and professional. In fact, the whole experience convinces me that we will return in the future.

Restaurant is attached to a hotel, which is different, but food was great and specials were fresh. I will go back again.

We dined for lunch in a group of five. There were very few people in the restaurant and the place was very quiet. The server was friendly and knowledgable. The food was excellent with good sized lunch portions. My only complaint is that the place was quite cold. One of my companions even had to put back on her jacket to fight the chill.

A Real Gem!
Great for small plates and sharing with friends or for a 3 couirse dinner with your date. The lobster mac and cheese is heavenly and the stuffed dates are a treasure find. The remodel is a home-run!

Creative cuisine, courtyard hotel?
Yes! If you're a food snob you'll have to get over the fact that you have to enter a Marriott Courtyard to enter this restaurant. The upside is that it's for gourmets who like casual ambience and innovative fare--like Mushroom Baklava that somehow makes blueberry compote the perfect bridge between savory and sweet. The place is only a short walk from Farragut North Metro Station and ought to be drawing more of a clientele than it does. Why leave the place to the tourists who stumble on it because it's in or near their hotel? More DC culinary adventurists should put Nage into their rotation.
10/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nage is the hidden secret of the area inside a hotel. A treasure. All around outstanding! From the moment you walk in to the food to the service. I recommend to all! Avocado Huevos Rancheros are on point!!!

Best Onion Soup Ever
I was in the area and stopped here for lunch. They had the best onion soup I've ever eaten. Burger was excelent as well.
Good service was also key.
Can't wait to come back here.

The service was great. Food
The service was great. Food was also delicious except for the BBQ oysters we ordered for appetizer. The oysters were not so fresh and we've had way better ones before somewhere. So that was a minus but other than that, everything was great.

Food was generally very good.. great beet salad. interesting combinations (Tuna Pad Thai) that were tasty. Veg burger was a little dry. Service was excellent. Nice downtown restaurant.

Great food and friendly staff
I frequent Nage for lunch with a coworker and typically the service is pretty speedy. This time the service was a bit slow, perhaps not enough staff people on this particular day. We had 11:45 reservations and arrived at 11:35. Seated immediately with only one other patron in the restaurant. We didn't leave until 1:30. We are usually out around 12:30. Again, this was not the typicaly service. The food is always outstanding. My two favorite dishes are the rainbow trout and the steak frites. The staff is always friendly and engaging.

The meal we enjoyed at Nage
The meal we enjoyed at Nage was delicious and the portions were large enough that two of us were able to share a salad, entree, and side dish and leave sated. The service was good, but not great as we had a few delays in getting our server's attention and were disappointed to have to ask for freshly ground pepper for our salad. Overall, our experience was good and we would return if we had plans in the area.

Thank you Nage for my birthday card giving me 2 glasses of champagne and $15 off dinner! I have been routinely going to Rehoboth Beach location but was close by in College Park, MD for business and made a special trip to the DC location! Everything was fantastic including my side order of brussel sprouts which I ate as an appetizer. The strip was nicely cooked as I liked (medium rare) and the half of lobster tail was great too! Wish I had some melted butter but it was so sweet, I never asked! Thanks again! Both DC and RB are my favorite restaurants!

My wife and I had a nice meal here, but there were two big downsides to our meal. One was the noise level. There was a very large group that was celebrating something quite loudly, and increasingly so as they imbibed. Can't put too much of this onto the restaurant however. I'm sure it was a big bill they couldn't' miss out on, but it was a bit distracting especially in a space that is extremely small. The second downside was the price. Entrees were $24 and up, a smallish bowl of soup was $8. Entrees were large and pretty well executed, but in all honestly I'd rather see a bit smaller portions, so I can sample more of the menu. Spending $27 on one huge plate cuts the rest of the menu out. I will say that our server was very good.
