Such a great spot
We have been to F'Amelia many times and always enjoy it. The setting is so unique and the food is terrific. We will continue to come back time and again.

Food and Service was incredible, we had everyone trying each others dishes and could not pick the best one

I love the design of F'Amelia, not to mention the clever name. I love that we can be seated indoors by the glass or outdoors under the roof and enjoy without being in the sun directly. F'Amelia never disappoints with tasty dishes and great service. I must say though that the menu is a bit exotic and without many mainstream choices, so take a peek before you go. They also pay very close attention to food allergies when they are aware... comforting.

Fun place to go with friends
My group of friends & I had a great evening here. the food was excellent. I love that all the dishes have max 5 ingredients, simple and flavouful rather than complicated, the way good food should be. The greeen risotto was a favourite amongst my table, even for the carnivores. The night we were there was pretty quiet, previous time it was very noisy but that is part of the ambiance. The service is very welcoming, attentive wothout being overbearing. Great cocktails as well! I will go back for sure

The pizza and pasta were excellent. Good friendly service. I will return for sure.
Really nice patio on a quiet downtown street.

This was our third time at the restaurant. Love it so much. The food and the ambience is lovely. Enjoyed our evening so much!! A wonderful place to have dinner with friends

Best dining experience in a long ti
Everything was perfect - the weather, the company, the food and drink. Started with a refreshing rhubarb sangria in lieu of appetizers, then on to the pasta special, which was extraordinary. It was some kind of wide ribbon pasta, nestled in an arugula pesto and topped with fresh peas, lima beans and candied lemon (I think). It was exquisite and paired beautifully with the bottle of Anna 6 (a blend of sauv, chard, and prosseco).

A wonderful neighbourhood boite!
Simply a beautiful setting, on a side street just steps off of Parliament Street. A terrific renovation of an old house into a charming restaurant with a lovely, spacious patio. It feels like you're dining in a garden. Waitstaff are all attentive without being overbearing or cloying and the food is mouth-watering - visually and aromatically as well as taste-wise. Bravo!

Best new restaurant I have tried in a long time. Service was friendly, food was great, cutest restaurant for a date!
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
They understand how make the most wonderful food - right for the season with freshest ingredients. Great service - never rushed and always accommodating. It's like going to someone's house for dinner.

Amazing and professional staff.
Amazing and professional staff. Food is consistent and excellent. Enjoyed bringing family from overseas to this great neighbourhood spot with a perfect off the main drag terrace.

I have eaten at F'Amelia at least 3 times now. I have never been disappointed.
The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable!
The menu has familiar items and the specials are always worth a try.
The cocktails are inventive ans tasty!

Great atmosphere, an outdoor patio that is relaxed and quiet enough for good conversation.
Smell of the pizza oven is fabulous. Food is very good. All in all, a good spot to return to.

Great Date Night
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and she loved it! Great staff and ambiance; i would recommend it to all my friends and family.
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Had a great time. We did have to wait a bit for a table on the patio. Servers were great in accommodating us. We wanted a quieter table and they moved us to the edge. It can be particularly noisy in the restaurant. The food and service makes up for it though. We had a very pleasant evening!.

Great food and awesome service
Went here as our day before our 5 year anniversary dinner. Outstanding service, and great food. We ordered one app, two mains and one dessert; they served it as four courses instead, which was great.
Seared Scallops were perfect.
Pizza is on par with Terroni, Libretto and QMP, which are my fav three in T.O. so far.
Pappardelle was cooked perfectly with an abundance of rabbit to go with it.
Loved the flourless torte with gelato; perfect meld of flavours and not too rich.
If only it was a bit closer to Scarborough Town Center I would be a regular! =)

A milestone on a F'amelia
The dining experience was brilliant from beginning to end
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Each visit is a home run!
I been here 6 times -- and each visit was outstanding. A seasonal, imaginative menu, casual but attentive service, enthusiastic staff, a great place to go with visitors, for birthdays or celebrations, or just a wonderful evening. As a side note, the chefs have a gift for elevating the `ordinary' -- in this case, fresh corn -- into food fit for the gods, whether it's soup or risotto! Pizzas rival the best in the city!
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food but noisy
The restaurant was recommended by someone who lives in the neighbourhood and eats there regularly. The food and service were great (try the lemon brûlée). It was a pleasant evening and the patio was open. As the restaurant filled up, though, the noise level reached the point where it was difficult to carry on a conversation. In spite of that, we enjoyed the meal and would definitely return.

It feels good just to sit
It feels good just to sit down at F'Amelia in the welcoming dining room with the big windows or on the leafy patio. The atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to conversation. The wine list is interesting, good for trying new wines by the glass. The food is outstanding for a neighbourhood restaurant, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. I like the way you can order a smaller or larger main dish. My favourite: the pappardelle with rabbit! Service is efficient and friendly and unobtrusive.

Fresh vibe in Cabbagetown
F'Amelia is a neighborhood gem of a restaurant that sets are brilliant tone to Cabbagetown, just off of Parliamant St. The atmosphere is romantic with a wonderful outdoor patio that has a particular charm that fits with the neighborhood. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious, the appetizer scallops were seared to perfection. The pasta was fresh and made just right which gives you the impression Italy is at your doorstep. While the food isn't cheap and by adding wine your bill can add up very quickly, yet it's a wonderful romantic place to share with good company.

Better than expected
Our table was ready when we arrived. I ordered 1 glass of wine for $11, and 2 glasses of tap water to avoid the charge for “spring water”. We ordered the fresh figs and arugula salad to share. $14. It was a small portion but we really enjoyed it. We each ordered a small portion item, I had Pappardelle with rosemary braised rabbit $17, and my partner had Eggplant ravioli $17. The portions were small, but we shared each and enjoyed the flavours We ate the little can of assorted bread with the salad, and asked for another, no problem. We finished by sharing the Quattro Stagioni pizza for $17. It too was very good, lots of delicate flavours. We were satisfied and quite full. We skipped dessert, total cost with tax and tip was $100.
8/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went there with my parents and boyfriend. Very beautiful and romantic with delicious food and attentive service. I had the octopus linguine and it was quite good - spicy, just the way I like it. The pizza looked spectacular. Will definitely come back!

Lovely dining experience, as always
I hosted visitors to Toronto and chose F'Amelia for our evening meal since I had been there in the past and had always been impressed by the quality of the food and the overall positive experience. This recent visit did not disappoint. My visitors do not speak English and our server was especially patient and attentive. The food was of high quality and the wine choices were excellent. But what I especially appreciate is the restaurant's environment, with it's large patio, open windows and warm tones. I recommend it highly!

Great Family Restaurant
This small neighborhood restaurant is serving up some delicious summer corn soup, Tuscan bread salad and some tasty pasta and pizza. The lemon brulee tart finished off dinner very nicely. They were also very tolerant of my loud and energetic grandkids.

A great find with spectacular food... No wonder all tables were filled on a wed nite
9/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
What a find!
Found this place on Toronto Life's top 10 most romantic spots list, and thought we'd give it a try for a special occasion. Then day before we were going, a friend said he didn't like the food. I don't understand what he was talking about. Everything we ate here was exquisite. I had a shrimp and sausage risotto with saffron. Amazing. My wife had the special pasta dish-- a pork and mushroom concoction-- which had the most delicately textured and perfectly cooked pasta I think I've ever tried. Excellent service. For the quality, the prices are very fair.
9/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
I like that they have specials that can be first courses or main. The pizzas are interesting, tasty, and the crusts are fabulously thin!
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Shared a great Quattro Stagione pizza. The evening special of panzanella salad with local heirloom tomatoes was all it could have been. Pappardelle with braised rabbit, mushrooms and herbs was close to perfect. Wonderful, reasonably priced wine list. It's a busy little joint with a great vibe in the room.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
We ended up choosing F'amelia after readimg joanne kates review. We had an early supper so had a lot of attention from the staff. We loved all of the food starting with the bread baked on site, charcuterie board, through pizza to pasta dishes. Also our waiter picked a fabulous wine. Topped it off with great tiramisu. Highly recommend it.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
F'amelia is my favourite neighbourhood restaurant. Great food, good selection of wine, inventive cocktails, consistently good service. It never disappoints.
10/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Had a close friend visiting from out of town and we wanted to try a new Italian resto. Chose F'amelia because of great dining reviews and was not disappointed. Food was delicious from the grilled calamari salad to the eggplant ravioli and truffle risotto. Good wine list and also had Italian beer on tap. Attentive service, great atmosphere but can get a bit loud when full. Overall a great dining experience.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Unusually great service for a restaurant in Toronto. Small but very interesting menu. Very reasonably priced.
10/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
We read a couple reviews and decided to give the restaurant a try. It was not a disappointment at all. The food was simple yet very flavorful and well-prepared. F'amelia is a great neighborhood/homestyle restaurant. Should definitely give it a try.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great neighborhood gem
Very cosy, very tasty, interesting wines! Will definitely return and recommend to friends. Wine bar is very cute!
Everything we had was excellent.
11/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was what brought us this first time and what will bring us back again and again will be the food, drinks, and staff. The interesting cocktails and wine list was impressive. Our waiter was knowledgable and friendly. The food....just amazing. Only drawback was the volume - a little too loud so I wouldn't suggest you bring anyone with hearing issues. But if you want good food and a good time make your reservation asap.
11/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
We need more of these
Good food, well prepared, well presented. It seems like an easy formula, but many restaurants focus too much on presentation, and not enough on fresh ingredients, and proper preparation. F'Amelia was a very pleasant surprise as it excelled at serving in this fashion. The menu is simple, ensuring that all dishes are fresh. The description of the food is accurate, so there are no surprises. The food is well balanced in taste (not overly salted, or spiced), and you can actually taste the ingredients. It's like you went to someone's home for dinner, and they were a great cook. Really enjoyed the entire experience, and will definitely be back.

Can't wait to go back
The great service started with the reservation. Prompt and cheerful follow up. Service was great from our server. All 4 of us really enjoyed our meals. Outstanding chef, and best of all, felt the meal wasn't overpriced. If you like restaurants like Campagnola, you'll love F'Amelia. Will definitely go back.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Simple. Honest. Easy (choice).
All dishes have no more than 5 ingredients. Refreshing in today's world of molecular gastronomy.
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great food and very good service.
Great food and very good service. i would go again

I could have been in Northern Italy
I met a friend for dinner at F'Amelia on a Saturday night, and it's a perfect "neighbourhood restaurant for foodies" (not my neighbourhood, but it was worth the drive). The vibe was upbeat - good buzz - and every single member of staff that we dealt with was friendly and welcoming. Our server, in particular, was deeply knowledgeable about the menu. The food was amazing (and I am picky) - portions were beautifully appropriate, salads were carefully crafted and plated, our pasta was fresh, flavours pure and delicious, and ingredients interesting and high quality. The menu is not extensive - it's essentially pasta and pizza with some antipasti and salads, but there were still several menu items that I could have happily chosen.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
great little find
I had my doubts that this tucked away restaurant would be anything special.... I was completely wrong. Staff were very attentive. Food 10/10. Lobster risotto best I have ever had.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great atmosphere, excellent service
The food was very good, portions were just right, the focus was definitely on quality. Atmosphere was perfect for a romantic conversation. And lastly the service was outstanding, they really make you feel like a valued customer.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Small well thought out menu.
Small well thought out menu. Pasta priced on the high side. Salad excellent. Enjoyable except for noise level. Hard to have a conversation.
11/29/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great find, will definitely go back
This restaurant was recommended by a family friend and I'm greatful they did! F'Amelia is a very cute and quaint restaurant with a great ambiance. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and very friendly. We were able to speak to the Chef James who gave us some great menu recommendations. Our server Renetta also gave us some tasty wine recommendations.
The food was outstanding and the portion sizes were perfect. I would suggest getting one of the charcuterie boards because all of the meat is prepared and smoked in house and is delicious!
I will definitely be going back and will spread the word about this gem.
11/29/2013 4:00:00 PM
F'Amelia is one of my `go to' restaurants in Toronto -- especially for the seasonal menus. The current winter menu is imaginative, enticing, satisfying. I appreciated being told -- at the beginning -- that our reservation only went from 6:30 to 8:30. A reasonable request for a relatively small, fabulous, busy restaurant on a Friday evening.
12/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
Fun dining out on a Saturday night
We really enjoyed a Saturday night out within easy walking distance of our home. The menu is limited to either pasta/risotto choices or great flat bread pizzas. Salad starters were unique and tasty. I enjoyed a brussel sprout prosciutto starter salad and finished with a great 4-way pizza. My wife's risotto main was tasty and her arugula salad was a great way to start the meal off. There were specials offered which lent a bit more variety, however the server failed to mention their prices which for me, is always a telltale sign that they are going to be expensive when compared to menu choices. Would have preferred a 1/2 litre wine option rather than a 5 oz glass. Wine menu was extensive but lacked some inexpensive choices. We'd go back.
