Quay was a mixture of eclectic foods! We sprung for a burger! It was very well prepared and very tasty!

Perfect for a special night out
Outstanding food with great presentation and excellent wine. Definitely a place for a special occasion. The only thing that took me by surprise was the $8 bread service. Overall one of the best fine dining experiences I've had in the city.

I learned about this restaurant
I learned about this restaurant from a show I saw a month ago. I love going to different restaurants. I am a seafood lover. I particularly love the moule frites. I enjoyed all the food I/we ordered. Too bad that we didn't get the chance to try out the dessert because we were just full.

A group of 7 friends went
A group of 7 friends went there after a walking tour. We were all pleasantly surprised by the niceness of the room, the quality of the food and the friendly waitstaff. A good find

Beautiful New Restaurant
First this restaurant is very upscale and modern. We had the five course meal. It was very good and it was a good portion of food. The food was well prepared. My spouse loved the pork belly. The trout was good but nothing special. The food is not average American fare, it upscale and freshly prepared. The house wine was good better than expected. Our server and other staff was very nice. I was surprised our toddler was welcomed and they have a kids menu. I probably would not bring kids on a weekends when it is crowded. This is a great restaurant to bring a date or for a special romantic occasion. They will validate your parking ticket if you park across the street so it will only cost you $10 to park which is great.

I had a group of 13 for dinner
I had a group of 13 for dinner on a Tuesday night and we had one whole section of the dining room to ourselves. Our waiter was fantastic and helped with selections of appetizers and wines for the table. Some very good seafood selections on the menu, the moule frites were amazing with the curry broth!

Ended a Bachlorette weekend in Chicago with Quay for Sunday brunch. Our group of 8 girls had received less than great service all weekend and were so relieved with the excellent experience we had at Quay. No problem getting a table right away, amazing bloody marys, OUTSTANDING food, and excellent service. The atmosphere was very chic and modern, yet the food prices were surprisingly reasonable. I can't say enough, it is my favorite restaurant in Chicago so far.

With a great experience for your taste buds (food and cocktails are very well done), but focused on all parts of the dining experience equally, Quay exceeded my expectations. Hip and modern, but not overdone or garish, the ambience can be all things to all people; the service, however, is only for making you feel like a king or queen - come to Quay if and only if you want to have a great experience! (Entrees are a-la-carte, so make sure to get some appetizers and/or sides if you want to fill up.)

Hip atmosphere, good food
Quay was an easy walk from our Sheraton downtown hotel, towards (but not on) Navy Pier. The restaurant at the back has an elegant, upscale atmosphere and lighting. For some reason, it was quite noisy, even though there were only two other parties there and the floor is carpeted (which is usually quieter). Service was friendly and quick, the menu had good "alternate" choices of small plates, salads, starters and entrees. Nice artsy presentation for the tasty entrees, but portions are on the small side. A great cocktail for bourbon lovers: the High End Retreat (pricey at $12, though). Overall, a good choice in this area.

Great new find!
Needed some place close and easy. Quay was both. The food was really good. Different, fresh, varied and nice portions. Wine list was good as well. The staff was knowledgeable and very attentive. Not really busy or crowded which made for easy conversation.

Beautiful setting; Interesting food
Quay has very beautiful spaces that all look different. The bar is vast and neo-warehouse-looking; we ate in the more formal dining room, which has lovely lit-up columns in ivory; the back bar area is grey and red. The food was interesting as well with items you don't see everywhere. My first time eating octopus tentacles, they were good! The waitstaff was excellent, very patient with us as two of our party were delayed in traffic, and their patience extended throughout the meal, since one of our diners was my 20-month-old daughter, who really did not want to stay in her high chair, except to eat her delicious macaroni and cheese from the kids' menu! I was surprised they had a kids' menu til I realized how close Quay is to Navy Pier.

First time dining at Quay and I could not have been happier. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere is comfortable and cool.

Where was the crowd?
This was the second time we have dined at Quay. The first was on a trip to Chicago 18 months ago and it was packed. This was a Friday night from 8 to 10 pm and we were the only diners to be seen. Too bad. The food was excellent and the wine selection was quite good. Our sever was extremely attentive and helpful (no surprise given we were her only customers). However, our server was outstanding the last time we dined there and it was very busy. Maybe it was the summer heat or people were saving their appetites for the Taste of Chicago the next day. I would certainly return.

Quay was an unexpected surprise.
Quay was an unexpected surprise.
Although I live in the neighborhood and have gone to quay plenty of times for drinks, I had never dined there and I was missing out! There was 3 of us and we got the tempura longs beans, noodle dish and a tomato heirloom salad before we started our night out partying and it was the perfect amount of food. Food was fresh, delicous, and presentation impeccable. Our server, Brian paid attention to every details and was by far one of the best servers in the city. My best friend usually has to complain everywhere we dine regarding the service and this was the first time she was impressed! And best part is that we got seated on saturday night wout any waiting or reservations needed.

So good we went back for more!
On a recent visit to Chicago, we discovered Quay near the Navy Pier area. Had dinner there on Friday, and the food was so spectacular that we went back for dinner on Saturday as well because we wanted to try everything else on the menu!
The chicken sausage with sweet corn polenta was phenomenal, as was the pistachio cheesecake.
They change their menu seasonally as 85% of what they serve is grown on the chef's own farm just outside the city - I really liked this aspect of the restaurant.

Many Personalities Characterize Qua
Fabulous views from the dock and indoors a great way to meet friends and watch the game. go to the dining room and then its like a fancy restaurant. Love the burgers and the walleye entree too. A regular place for us to visit!

The back dock at Quay is a hidden gem behind the restaurant on the offshoot of the river. The food was delicious, great service, and the ducks swimming by were adorable.

Good food, nice ambience
The food here was excellent. I had the blackened catfish and it was fabulous, as were the hush puppies. The polenta had too much kale for my taste. It's a nice downtown bar, close to Navy Pier, so a nice alternative to the tourist spots there. The service was attentive and helpful. The waitress knew the menu pretty well. I'd return if I'm in the area.

Seed to Plate
My favorite aspect of Quay is that it is Seed to Plate. Everything's I've had here is great (the abundance of space and variety of venues is a great feature). Corn and lobster bisque, mac n cheese, kale & artichoke dip (could use more kale), truffle potato pizza (has a ton of cheese on it, which the menu omits), and my FAVORITE SIDE: kale and mushrooms.
Steamed mussels are incredibly tender and a very light color, which I haven't seen before. The broth is fantastic, but we had to ask for bread for dipping...and received 3 pieces....really, you don't have more bread?
Great drinks as well, overall great restaurant!

Great Thanks Giving fare/food
The food was as advertised. Service was great. I did not understand all of the service charges, but still enjoyed myself with my family.

My family enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving dinner for a reasonable price. Thank you for making our holiday one to remember.

Great food, great service
We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Quay. The decor is very appealing - great lighting, ambiance, furnishings, and the food and the service were excellent.

We came into Chicago from Kansas City to do something different for Thanksgiving Day. Our reservation for Thanksgiving Dinner at Quay was a hit. They served the traditional meal with gourmet touches for a reasonable price. I cannot speak to their regular menu because this was a set meal, but all of it was prepared to perfection. I would go back to check out their regular fare based upon this meal. Also the wait staff was exceptionally kind and competent. Give Quay a try!
