One would be hard-streched
One would be hard-streched to find a better restaurant in Durham. Once we set foot inside the door, we were welcomed by an incredibly friendly and service-oriented staff. The food was nothing short of absolutely brilliant and the service held the same high standard throughout the entire evening. The staff was very attentive, polite and also took time to converse with us, which added to the feeling of genuine friendliness.
Just a simple piece of advice: Make your reservation N-O-W!

Good food & great atmosphere.
Its all you can eat meat. What more needs to be said? That being said, I was disappointed that the fillet was medium instead of rare. Evil thing to do to such a good cut of meat. The sirloin and garlic steak were wonderful though and the lamb was perfect. I would have rated the service down a bit for this trip as they seemed to be understaffed and it took a great deal of effort to get water refilled but they really were great when I had problems w/the wine getting me a pinot that was tasty.

Great service. High-end "all you can eat" for meat lovers. Endless table carving service of s huge assortment of skewered meats presented by Brazian costumed gauchos. Very exclusive salad bar.

This was my first visit to
This was my first visit to a restaurant of this type. I'd heard great things about Chamas, and I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious: the "salad bar" was actually not a salad bar in the traditional sense; it was loaded with delicacies like large cooked shrimp, wonderful cheeses, black beans and pork, crab ravioli, and more. You could definitely make a meal out of that alone. But then came the meat...a man brings huge skewers with all different kinds: pork tenderloin, chicken wrapped in bacon, ribeye, lamb etc. All perfectly cooked and seasoned! The waitstaff were extremely attentive without being intrusive. Make sure you eat light for at least the whole day of your dinner there...it's a heavy, big meal.

Great food and atmosphere!
We have enjoyed Chamas on many occasions. This time, we got there right as they opened, so everything was very hot and fresh (even better than usual!).

Very good dinner - with a big price
Our experience at Chamas was very nice. We got in right away - and our awesome server told us how the restaurant works (there is a great buffett with normal salad faire, olives, specialty cheeses, pasta, smoked salmon, mussels and more. Once you are ready you flip a card on your table and they start bringing meats around to the tables on skewers. All of the food was very good - though no bite was absolutely great. After we ordered some very wonderful desserts. Try the Flan! The downside the price. Dinner and dessert (with no alcohol) was over $100 for 2 (before tip), and since there is no menu it is a bit surprising. Overall, good experience - but pricey.

My all-time favorite restaurant! Almost perfect in every way.

Meat, meat, and more meat!
My Brother and I set out to Chamas during Triangle Restaurant Week. For $30, all you can eat deliciously flavored and perfectly cooked steak was just what the doctor ordered after a long week. The waiter was attentive with our sides and beverages, and the gauchos just kept coming! Every cut was delicious, and requests for specific cuts were honored promptly. And in addition, the salad bar was handsomely stocked as well. We're used to dining at Fogo de Chao, another well-known churascaria; Chamas pleasantly surprised us in every way!

Delicious Brazilian Style Barbecue
I loved the white rice, perfect. The Picanha and Fraldinha were also amazing. Excelent Brazilian waiter, made everything to make us feel home.

Chamas during Restaurant Week
My wife and I enjoyed an early dinner here on a Sunday. Because of the time that we were there, the crowd was sparse (until near the end of our meal) so I cannot really comment on noise level. Wait staff was professional and courteous. All the meat was quite delicious, but I especially would compliment the quality of the salad/antipasto bar. The offerings were diverse and all of top quality. I could easily imagine returning for lunch and opting for just that part rather than the full rodizio.

Very quiet on Thursday nights
Restaurant was pretty empty, but the food was just as great on busy days, still better than Brasas in my opinion, only wish they still did chicken hearts.

Food was outstanding, and tons of it as is normal with churrascarias. Salad bar was great, the fish/clam bisque thing was fabulous. We had reserves at 6:30, and while on one hand I was concerned why the restaurant was about empty (perhaps due to July 4 week) on the other I felt great because it was quiet, intimate. Can't remember the name but the Argentine Malbec wine was great. Server was nice, cordial, knowledgeable, she's one of the better servers I've had. Love the location of the restaurant also, as it was seemingly in an artsy, trendy little nook of Durham so the atmosphere around the place was great.

Great food and plenty of it. I love Brazilian steakhouses and was not disappointed. They have a great drinks list as well. The service was very polite and eager to help. Perhaps a bit too eager with frequent visits even when our table had the red "no thank you" signs displayed. I wouldn't hold that against them though so I still give it 5 stars.

More Meat Please!
Brazilian steak house is a new experience for me, and Chamas delivered. Start with a beautiful salad bar, items all fresh and attractively laid out. Some great seafood and cheeses along with various salads and salad items. But the fun begins when the "meatrunners" start. Sirloin, chicken, pork, lamb, sausage. All on a skewer. I think there were 10 or 12 options all told, and they don't stop coming until you turn your meat card over. Red means "my god, please stop!".
A great time, all told. A little pricey, but well worth it!

Both my husband and I have
Both my husband and I have had the chance of trying Brazilian & rodizio style restaurants in many cities in the United States and abroad, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Manaus. Chamas can proudly join the ranks of the best! Besides, for us living in this area, we're glad you're here!

Had a wonderful date with my wife here. If I'd not been the driver, I might have enjoyed a caipirinha, too. But the meat and sides were great and the ambience was perfect.

My friends and I decided to spring big for my birthday. Usually we wouldn't spend this much on dinner, but it was worth the price!

Superb meat. Outstanding pieces of meat prepared with great expertise. A meat-lover's paradise. And the cheese bread is always wonderful and absolutely authentic--as good as any I've had in Brazil. Great service--even better than in Brazil!
