Excellent food & great atmosphere!
My husband and I had 2 great dinners while staying at the Cameo Heights Mansion. The atmosphere is very romantic & comfortable. Also the chef (Nathan) was awesome. He was very friendly and the food tasted amazing. My husbands favorite course was the smoked salmon chowder!

Had a very nice quiet dinner
Had a very nice quiet dinner the food was great, service was very good. Seating is nice there are only 6 tables for four each, but that makes it a more intimate setting. You can choose from a 3 course meal plus the chef brings out a couple more little taste creations. Price for the full course meal is $60, if you want to pair wine with each course add $20, or they will price out entree's. I would recommend the Vine and Chef Nathan Carlson, very nice.

We waited too long to make
We waited too long to make dinner reservations for Cayuse weekend this year and found this restaurant with availability on OpenTable. What a find!! Even though its 25 mi. out of town, it is worth every minute. The dining room has six tables in an open dining/kitchen area. Everything is so intimate and absolutely gorgeous. You know you've got a great chef when you want to stop at the appetizers and just order 5 more for dinner!! The owners and the chef were so very personable and friendly. Mike gave us a tour of the amazing mansion after dinner (all 7 suites were booked but you can view them online), including entertainment level and pool. A TRULY MEMORABLE, REPEATABLE EXPERIENCE!! Limo service and wine tours available, too!

Room with a view
Excellent food, beautiful presentation, lovely view, friendly chef, and he had hiked the Appalachian Trail in NC, my birth state!

Every course was beyond what we had expected!! Don't be afraid of the drive. Only takes 30 minutes from Hermiston. I am sure Walla Walla and The Tri Cities would take even less time to get there. Well worth it!

We had a great experience and will return often
The dining is comparable to best white tablecloth restaurant
The country setting is priceless

Read the reviews
It was graduation weekend at Whitman College, so reservations we difficult to find. The reviews on OpenTable led us to The Vine. Start to finish, it was a wonderful meal. The range of food, the ambience, the setting . . . it was exactly what we were looking for after a day of wine tasting.

World class dinner
We enjoyed the chef's incredible meals so much we cancelled our second night reservation in town and dined at The Vine two nights in a row. Two of the best meals we have ever had! Attention to detail is amazing.
5/23/2013 4:00:00 PM
Everyone should go to The Vine for that special occasion or just for a quiet evening out! The food presentation, flavors and wine parings were unequaled. We have recommended it to everyone we have seen and will be back many more times!!!

Dining at its finest
The chef here does an outstanding job. The personalized attention is what makes it really special. The recommendations were helpful and the wait staff (the owners Alan And Deanna) are more than accommodating. Worth the drive if you are from the area or out of town.

Delicious 7course dinner in thoroughly delightful, intimate b&b setting. Expertly prepared dishes, creative presentation, awesome service from chef Nathan. Perfect for celebrating our anniversary. Thank you!

Beyond what we expected
We had our 43rd anniversary dinner at the Vine. The food was fabulous.....7 course meal with wine pairing for 4 of the courses in a very intimate setting overlooking the pool and apple orchard. The beautiful open kitchen area allows you to watch the chef prepare your meal and then he serves each course to you and explains the ingredients, preparation, etc. A server brought our 4 different wines to us with an explanation about each.
And the food!!! How do you explain it...........meat (my husband had game hen and I had lamb chops) were cooked to perfection. Various other unusual foods for the courses.............all plated beautifully. Well worth the nearly $200 bill (includes wine, tip, etc.). Will be going back again.

All the food was outstanding and the wine pairing were wonderful. It is nice to have this level of food service here in the tri-cities. We will certainly be back. We had a great dinner. The food & presentation was fantastic.
6/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was one of the most memorable dinners ever! The seven-course meal, with wine pairings, was exquisitely beautiful in presentation, and truly delectable with with fresh, organic ingredients. I would recommend The Vine to any Foodie.

A great 5 star find in a B&B
You do not have to stay at the Cameo Heights Mansion to eat at this great restaurant. Chef Nathan offers a 7 course pre-fixe menu with many choices to select from. All the courses are equally delicious. There is great attention paid to detail in the preparation and the presentation. Chef Nathan hand delivered each course and offered a summary of the course. Very rare these days to even see a chef.

In the Middle of Nowhere
A large dining room in an 8 bedroom mansion overlooking acres of irrigated orchards in the brown hills of Eastern Washington 5 miles west of Touchet WA. If I said that this was possibly the best meal I'd had in Touchet I guess that wouldn't mean too much... But if I said that this was probably the best meal I've had in the Walla Walla area that should mean a lot more. And it is. I won't get into details of the meal but what you have is a chef for the 6 tables who works across a counter in an open kitchen and delivers the courses to your table. And a waitress to do the rest. An extensive local wine list. The decor is a little plain but the food makes up it.
Look for Oasis Rd. There's no restaurant sign. And a mansion on a bluff..

Great Anniversary Dinner
The food was fantastic, but we were a little let down on the desert. The service was amazing, the chef was very friendly, and the vine was more than willing to accommodate our special requests.

We travel a lot and this was the most fabulous food that we've ever had'! It was superbly cooked and wonderfully presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our whole experience. We ate outside and the view was terrific.

My wife found the restaurant during research for wine tasting trip to Yakima Valley.
The restaurant occupies the dining room of the Bed and Breakfast with great views of the area and orchards. Even the pool below looked inviting and did not deter from the experience. We chose and indoor table due to temperatures in high 90s.
We dines on Tuesday. Chef does an outstanding job with presenting a multi-course dinner at a very reasonable cost with main entries varying at least monthly. Dining room has a direct view of the kitchen area so you can see the chef in action with cooking and plating. We also ordered wine pairing which made the food even more enjoyable.
7/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
We enjoyed the total package in every way. Foods served were well prepared and with the chef bringing the dishes to the table and talking to us about each course, it was truly a special dining experience. At least two courses included or featured foods I normally would not select. Both were excellent and enjoyable. Flavors on some of the dishes were delicate and one had to pay close attention to fully enjoy them. Other dishes were quite savory and equally enjoyable. If a negative had to be offered, it was the time it took. In reality, the time was reasonable considering the seven course meal and all foods were prepared in front of us. Pairing with local wines and use of local ingredients was greatly appreciated. Great Experience.

Beautifully presented & Delicious!
The 7 course dinner was absolutely delicious. Every course was beautifully presented, creative and tasty. I'm not keen on fish so the chef gladly made one of the appetizers without the salmon and added a few extra items just to make it interesting. We will definitely make the 40 min trip just to have dinner there and also plan on dining there next summer when we stay at the mansion again. You can't go wrong dining here. Reasonably priced considering the quality and presentation!

An excellent experience
We had a wine pairing dinner that was excellent. Good food, Good wine, great evening for outdoor dining, and excellent service. No worries about recommending.

Found this restaurant in research for Walla Walla. We initially used a GPS to give us a directions - bad idea. It thought we were over an hour away - not true. The GPS does not show the road off the main highway that takes you directly to the mansion. It take half the time to get to the restaurant. Well worth the drive. Chef Nathan is awesome - coming to the table to explain each course. They feature a different local winery each month to pair with the food - great idea!

48th Wedding Anniversary Dinner
The mood was set with 60's music, a long stem red Rose on the table, and a plate which read in chocolate -Happy 48th Anniversary. We were close to the speakers and the music were songs we knew and perfect for our setting. The 7 course meal was wonderful with chef delivery and explanation of each course. The food was wery tasty and interesting. Our meal was two hours and the full moon rose over the hill as we dined. It was a wonderful evening and the chef's assisting staff was great. Alan the owner stopped by as well. Could not have been better.....thanks to The Vine at Cameo Heights.

Our meal at The Vine was incredible! The food was delicious. Choices in each category were all very appealing and creative. The artistic touch of the chef made the meal visually beautiful. The chef is an especially talented professional. He prepared the meals in the kitchen right off the dining room and made it look easy. It wasn't; each menu item was complex. The dining room and setting are lovely. The service was efficient, pleasant and well-paced. We travel a lot and eat in many different restaurants, this was a real standout meal for us. The experience could not have been better!

Perfect End To A Perfect Day
After a great day of wine tasting in Walla Walla and heading home to Richland I made a last minute reservation at The Vine. I couldn't have planned for a better way to top off the day. This place has delicious food in a very special setting. If you are looking to impress a date or have a special dinner with friends, I highly recommend The Vine.

Regular dinner menu had variety
Regular dinner menu had variety of options, each course was quite tasty. Wine was very good also.
9/5/2013 5:00:00 PM
The food was very flavorful. Many levels of complex flavors. Only downfall was I had fish and there were a lot of bones. Great breakfasts. Bring your wallet for dinner because their 7 course dinner for two will set you back nearly $250.

My girlfriend and I went to the Vine to celebrate our September birthdays. We were warmly greated by the staff. The restaurant knew we were celebrating and wished us Happy Birthday..very nice. I had been there before and expected a menu with a variety of choices to include moderately priced wine choices. The menu, however, was a pre-determined 7 course menu. That said, the food was exquisitely prepared and presented. This is a very small, intimate restaurant so the Chef is able to bring each course to your table and explain the ingredients. You can expect to stay approximately 2-3 hours for the 7 courses. This restaurant is wonderful and a foodies delight. I would especially recommend this venue for special occasions. You will love it!
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Greatly enjoyed 7 course meal. Suggested wines for pairing with meal were excellent.
Ambience and friendliness of servers and owners Deanne and Alan Fielding made this dining experience a memorable one. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great Food! Friendly Service!
Not much to say other than "fantastic"! Food was impeccable! If you love to sit and relax in a low key, warm, inviting atmosphere, and have an appreciation for good food then you can't go wrong here. Everything we ate was to die for...we will surely be back!
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Unique spot in the hills to the west of Walla Walla. The place is a lavish B&B. There are only a very small number of tables. The food was creative and superb -- multi-course set dinner with a couple of options. The chef, Nathan, prepared & served with the help of Vivian. We did the wine pairing, which included four quality wines. This was very good value for an outstanding dinner.

The food was fabulous. I especially loved the pumpkin bisque. It may be a bit of a drive if you are just going to dinner, but it would be worth it for a nice quiet, romantic dinner.

We are very happy
We visited for our 26 year anniversary, the food was VERY good, the atmosphere was wonderful, it was a memorable experience, thanks for the great time.

Wonderful! Fantastic dining........
.........in a romantic setting. Absolutely worth every bit of the price. We'll be back at least three times a year.

An absolute treat
Everything at the Cameo Heights Mansion is a thought out detail, including the dining experience at the vine, the meal was so interesting and absolutely delicious. The waitress was spot on with every detail. The most amazing part of the meal for me was the pumpkin, langoustine bisque. I don't think I'll ever stop raving about it. Breakfast was absolutely charming and delicious!
