My 13 year old children and
My 13 year old children and I very much enjoyed the Grovewood Cafe. After a long day of traveling and a sporting event it was a welcoming change to be able to relax, eat great food and be taken care of in a casual setting. The warm homemade breads did not last long
in the basket. We enjoyed the cheese sampler to share but it was the only appitizer on the menue to share. Our entres were very flavorful and my children commented that they were just the right portions. We tried two of the desserts which were very good as well.
My husband was late joining us and the staff was very accomedating. The service was friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning to Asheville and the Grovewood Cafe.

Super food for reasonable
Super food for reasonable prices! Kitchen and server were very accommodating to my food requests. I noticed that a different dish featured seasonal morel mushrooms, and I asked whether they could include some morels in the vegetarian platter that I ordered. They had no problem with this, and the morels were great. You can get a meal at the Grove Park Inn restaurants for $50-75, or get equally good (maybe better) food at the Grovewood Inn right next door -- not a difficult choice. And if you’re in downtown Asheville, it’s worth the drive to enjoy the scenery here 15 minutes away.

They did Mother's Day right!
We went to the Grovewood Cafe for the first time for Mother's Day lunch. Everything was perfect! The menu, the waitstaff, the atmosphere - it was all done excellently well.

Accomodating to our needs
We started with 7 reservations and as the day went on, we kept adding folks until we had 12. The staff allowed our adjustments to the number of people and provided a great dining experience. As a result, we went back the next night.

Out of Town Guest
We chose Grovewood because the food is reliable and the atmosphere is relaxed and quiet so we could talk and catch up.

Tucked away elegance
This restaurant was tucked away in the woods in North Asheville. If you didn't know you were in the city you could never tell from the parking lot. Plan on going early to see the museums and workshops on property. You will also want to experience the artwork along the walkway and in the park space across the street. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of our party of 12. The owner engaged us in pleasant conversation while we waited for the entire party to arrive. I will definitely recommend it to others.

We had family passing through from out of town and needed a large table with only a days notice. Grovewood was able to accommodate with ease. Everyone loved their meal and the service was perfect!

Dependably good food and service
We checked in to the Grove Park Inn late and could not get reservations at their dining facilities. This lovely cafe is nearby and usually not overbooked so we got a reservation there. We just wanted some light fare, antipasto to start and pan seared diver scallops cooked just right, still juicy and tender. I selfishly don't want too many people to know about this best kept secret.

Lovely patio dinner
My husband and I had a lovely dinner on the patio at Grovewood Cafe. We shared a delicious spinach salad with roasted beets, walnuts, feta and berries served with yummy homemade breads. My dinner was the best choice: delicious seared scallops, roasted asparagus and potatoes. I ended my meal with Creme Brûlée and my husband had a delicious blackberry cobbler. Coffee could be better. Our waitress was very congenial and attentive. The patio was cozy and we enjoyed walking around the sculpture garden. There are some interesting shops nearby, but they were not open when we were there.

Such a great option to eating at the Grove Park Inn. Located north of the GPI next to the Grovewood Gallery. While it will never match the Sunset Terrace experience, it does provide another option while staying at the GPI. Since this restaurant is not a part of the GPI, you will not see its name anywhere on GPI information. It is next door to the Grovewood Gallery an equally "do not miss" while staying at the GPI.

Excellent and beautiful
Our second time was just as good as the first, last year. We are visitors to Asheville. This time it was very warm outside so we sat inside. Outdoor seating bumps ambiance up to 5 stars.
Visit the Grovewood Gallery and have lunch.

Most pleasant surprise
We went to the Grovewood Cafe for dinner twice while we were staying at the Grove Park Inn and found it to be most enjoyable. The menu is diverse and the food was quite nicely prepared. The server was excellent. It is far cheaper than going to one of the restaurants in the Inn and it doesn't require driving into downtown Asheville if you are staying at the Inn. They are flexible about mixing sides from one entree to another.

Eight of us had dinner at the Grovewood Café on Saturday night August 10, 2013. It was the perfect ending to a busy weekend at a conference in Asheville. The food and the service were both good. We were not in any hurry, so I could not comment on the speed of the service, but the waitress was pleasant and helpful. I would go back.

Good Brunch Spot Hidden Away
So many locals forget about this hidden gem, which is next to the Grove Park Inn, but not part of the Inn. And it does have its own parking lot. Server was very attentive, and took great care with my mother's special needs of gluten free.
It was a lovely outdoor brunch

Great Food and Service
The Grovewood Cafe is a hidden gem that goes unnoticed on the Grove Park Inn property. Great food with a new twist that makes every course interesting.

Chef owned Grovewood always has excellent vegetables - and usually has delicious meatloaf on the menu. Trout also is good, and salads are fresh and inventive. Waitstaff are always attentive to assure delightful meals. This is one of our regular dining spots and have never been disappointed.

We had reservations for our family here for Thanksgiving this year and was pleasantly surprised that we had some options for dinner. Everything we ate was very yummy and our kids felt welcome, too. felt like we were eating in an old house. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for its food.
