My wife and I have been to
My wife and I have been to Chinook on a number of occasions. The food and service on this Easter trip were nothing short of "memorable." Tina was a wonderful hostess with much insight. She even took the time to ask me how spicy I wanted my bloody mary. It came out perfectly. Because it was Easter, my wife was interested in lamb. We had not had lamb before at Chinook, and it was "over the top." I got a taste from my wife. The lamb was awesome. And I have stayed away from lamb all my life. Now I won't -- at least not at Chinook. What a wonderful place.

This was our first visit to
This was our first visit to Chinook Tavern at this location. The food was wonderful and our waiter, Ali, was one of the best waiters we've ever had - energetic, knowledgeable, happy and upbeat, just perfect. We can't wait to go back!

Fantastic restaurant. Great menu - some of the standards, but also plenty of options you won't find elsewhere. The wild mushroom ravioli was outstanding!
4/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
Chinook is one of my favorites because the food and service are consistently excellent. One person in our party is hard of hearing and the hostess who seated us gave us the perfect spot. Two of us ordered the calf's liver (a rare find in restaurants) and raved about it. Our server made wonderful wine suggestions and timed his appearances at our table perfectly.
5/2/2013 4:00:00 PM
Finally! A restaurant still standing after many years that isn't part of a chain. Wonderful energy and yet able to converse with everyone at the table without screaming. Incredible food, delicate sauces and interesting, varied choices. The service was probably the best I've experienced in years. Truly a gem of a night and we'll definitely be going back for more!
Thank you, Clemens for working so hard and staying true to your convictions!

Even Better than I remembered
Chinook used to be in Cherry Creek then they relocated to the Tech Center...I had not been to the new Tech Center location till last weekend.... EXCELLENT. Love the new location. Food was exquisite. Jager Schnitzel was wonderful, my old favorite was still on the menu also, Wasabi Pea crusted halibut. THIS is the place for any special meal, or even just a weekday meal out... and, IT IS THE place to be for Oktoberfest festivities....

Great food and ambiance
Very enjoyable menu with out of the norm choices. Prompt and courteous staff surrounded by a delightful decorum. A nice meal to celebrate a special occasion.

Perfect rendezvous place!
Three women friends met up at Chinook for lunch. We come from all directions.....Castle Rock, Parker, Central Denver. This is a perfect location just off of I-25 and I have met a friend there who took the light rail from the city in the past. Menu is interesting with a European flavor and the food is always good, service was attentive without being invasive (we had to chat/catch up). When a salad was delivered not as requested, they quickly replaced it with gracious apologies. The ambiance is lovely clean contemporary but warm with original art and creative touches. I am always pleased to go there!
5/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
We have dined twice at Chinook Tavern in the last two weeks. Both times the food was excellent, and the service above reproach. The food has a european bend, some german. I highly recommend the jaeger schnitzel, and my wife has ordered the liver twice, that she truly enjoyed. Not too many Denver restaurants offer liver on their menu, and certainly not one can match the Chinook Tavern quality.
In the summer, I recommend you take advantage of the outdoor sitting areas with their wonderful views.
Hard to find the entrance to the restaurant. I suggest complimentary parking on the north side of the building, where you walk straight into the restaurant entrance.
All in all, a very satisfying experience. We will be back.

We were just there, and as usual our food was delicious! The filet that i could cut w/ my fork melted in my mouth. Chinook Tavern is a place for an out of this world STEAK..
6/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
First time there
I had heard that this restaurant had german dishes on the menu. It did have several which were good, but I would not call this a german restaurant. Nonetheless, I would definitely go back to try the other dishes, as everything is made in house and is excellent quality. Pricey, but for a special occasion, very nice. Will try the outside patio this summer with the music at night as well. The staff is very friendly, and parking in the garage on the north side of the building leads right into the restaurant.
6/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
The title may sound bland but it's not intended to be. We had never been to Chinook Tavern before but were looking for something with an atmosphere that was pleasant and we could hear ourselves talk to one another. Tired of steak houses. The atmosphere was very Scandinavian...Crisp and clean modern...sterile but warm.
The food was quite good and the service was friendly as well. I was somewhat disappointed because the review said fondue but didn't make it clear that you had to specify your desire to have fondue because it requires the party to be seated in a different location. Our party had already been seated and served drinks so even though the server offered to reseat us in the other area it was to big a hassle at that point..

Chinook Tavern is a family
Chinook Tavern is a family favorite. We've dined there many times and it's generally our location of choice when celebrating special occasions as well. Perfect for group events as their facilities can easily accomodate separate group dining areas. Wonderful menu that offers a good variety of choices for everyone.

Repeat Customer at Chinook
Had another great experience at Chinook! Loved the signature dessert, upon recommendation from our server.
6/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
We have eaten at Chinook Tavern several times and never have been disappointed. On this occasion we had an excellent meal beginning with the mushroom streudel - a specialty of the house. The entree of scallops sitting atop cubes of pork belly garnished with citrus fruits was exceptional as was the tenderloin served in a bordelaise type sauce. Of course dessert had to be apple streudel. There is a very good wine list with a large number of wines by the glass. Service is very good and the rooms are very beautifully decorated. There is a large bar area with comfortable seating. This is one of the best restaurants in Greenwood Village and is worth a visit.
6/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
A bit too much up sell
The food was great and a few dishes, like the mushroom strudel appetizer, were outstanding. The waitress only had our table in our section. So service, while friendly and knowledgeable was not as attentive as an outstanding grade would have required but well within very good.
The waitress did too much up selling so instead of offering option it felt pushy. Starting with sparkling water, then drinks, perhaps some soup on top of the appetizer ordered, maybe another dessert. Unfortunately the suggestions became a pattern. The server was polite when my wife or I declined a suggestion, but the feel of trying to pad the bill was beyond being helpful. We both had an appetizer, a main course and I had a dessert and a glass of wine.
6/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
We visited the tavern for the first time and were impressed by the beautiful room, the presentation of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. We plan to visit again soon to sample other tempting dishes dishes.

Great spot for lunch near the DTC
Chinook in Greenwood Village is a great spot for a business or social lunch. Great food and service. Wonderful atmosphere.

Always a pleasure to dine at The Chinook, but definitely miss the ambience of their Cherry Creek North location!

Girls night out
a group of four of us had a great time at Chinook. All had great food and the server suggested two really nice wines.

Lunch was a treat !
I treated 2 friends to lunch at one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The ambience can't be beat with the modern european design, colorful artwork, and of course great food. This was the first time I had lunch and I can't say enough about the food. We had the brie plate appetizer, entrees and desserts. The Brie was lightly fried to gooey perfection and was paired with grapes, strawberries, apples and a fantastic lingonberry jam. The Lobster BLT was extremely tasty, (as promised by Lenny, our waiter), and my friend raved about the weiner schnitzel. My friends confirmed my passion for the Rote Grutze dessert was not misguided and are still raving about it ! We are already planning a return visit before the holidays !

Excellent spot for business lunch
Chinook Tavern is a great spot for a business lunch. The menu has something for all tastes; the service is fast but not intrusive; the noise level is low enough that you can hear your table mates conversation.

We took our two kids here for dinner and had a great night.

Very good food
I took my family from out of state to this restaurant because they wanted to try something new. I have been to the tavern for lunch and had a great experience. We recieved water right away which was nice but waited at least 20 minutes before the waitress came back to take our order. It would have been more understanding if the place was busy but it was 9 at night and there were 5 tables filled in the whole restaurant. The food was great but having a pregnant lady in the group she was very unhappy with the service as well as the rest of the family.
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
The wood decor reminds one of a rustic elegant place in Bavaria and the food and service were excellent! Excellent wine selections too!

Highly Recommend Chinook!
Chinook was a really pleasant surprise. I am not much of a tavern person, so when my 22 year old (non-drinker) daughter chose it for her family birthday dinner, we were all surprised. It was unique - the lovely atmosphere, the menu, and the location.
We loved that it was not a chain owned restaurant. Our server was great and the food was delicious! We all have been to plenty of nice restaurants, but were all equally impressed.
When making the reservation, I noted it was my daughter's birthday and that grandparents with poor hearing would be joining us. To accommodate both of these, they decorated our table and gave us a table next to the wall, so the noise would be at a minimum. We really appreciated both!
All nine of us will be back!

Love Chinook Tavern
This restaurant has a wonderful ambience, a professional waitstaff and delicious food. What more could one ask?

Good European Food
interesting menu; heavy on Austrian/German food. Interesting seafood as well. Very cool room and a big u-shaped granite bar. All in all an 8 out of 10.

This was a great new experience!
Our first experience will lead to additional ones. We really enjoyed it.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
The menu needs work
My group found, to our dismay, that two separate dishes which did not mention bacon in the menu description in fact prominently featured bacon, which we do not eat. The staff were quite accommodating in quickly preparing new plates for us.
Overall the food was entirely satisfactory, but nothing really memorable. The wine list is indeed excellent but the markups on bottles that I know was unreasonably high; this is a problem at many restaurants of course. For such a large restaurant, the noise level was very low which we deeply appreciated.

Excellent Food and Service
The menu and presentation will not disappoint and the quality wine list is diverse. The ambience is comfortable for a casual meal or an important event. Great service is up to the attentive and uniquely crafted cuisine.

Favorite Spot for Business Meetings
Chinook is one of my favorite spots to conduct business. The space is uniquely woody from floor to ceiling.

Always wonderful food and service
The tomato soup was excellent. It is a great place to linger for lunch.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
My friend and I made a first visit on a Friday evening and we're very pleased. I had the most tender prime rib and she had short ribs that were just falling apart as you took a bite. Delicious. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and we never felt rushed or left alone for too long. I will say that it can get a bit noisy in the bar on Friday night as The Jim Fox Show is broadcast from there. Lots of orange towels were being waved. Not liking football, I tried to just ignore it. But good for Chinook Tavern as this is good publicity for them. I will definitely be back.

A welcome return
The Chinook Tavern has a unique way of making a customer feel like a member of the family coming in for a visit. Fantastic people with incredible food. New location is spacious and at least on the day we went parking was easy to get. Thank You Chinook Tavern for a great anniversary dinner.
11/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
This restaurant is a must for all!! It is amazingly beautiful. The menu is so different than anything in the DTC. So glad that Chinook Tavern opened up in the South Metro Area. It is also a nice meeting place after work for Happy Hour! They are open on Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve & Christmas Day!!!

Gem In the Tech Center
Chinook is the restaurant that stands in in the tech center where most other restaurants are just generic chains. Chinook has an excellent selection of beer, wine and cocktails for any occasion. The food is also spectacular and it's clearly made with passion and a bit of love. I would highly recommend Chinook. It's on par with the best restaurants the Highlands and Lodo.

A little of everything
I was hungry for German food and couldn't find a German restaurant in Denver open for lunch. But the menu at the Chinook Tavern had a couple of German dishes. I had the jaeger schnitzel with spaetzl and it was outstanding. I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing! My friend had chicken picatta which was also a winner. Even though there was a very large group close by, our service was still attentive and the noise level was still low. We sat there and talked for 3 hours and no one seemed to care...they just kept refilling our iced teas.
11/19/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great Time at Chinook Tavern
My wife and I have not eaten at the Chinook Tavern, since the move from Cherry Creek. We invited a few friends for dinner and had a great time, we love the atmosphere, food and of course the fantastic German draft beers!!!

Special Food - Special Occassion
The chefs at Chinook Tavern always excel at both the preparation and presentation of their meals. While the menu is oriented toward traditional German dishes, it is done with a light contemporary touch. Their attention to food quality in a beautiful setting is a great experience.

Thanksgiving away from home
Sometimes it's better to let someone else do the holiday cooking and cleaning up. The service was outstanding. The food delicious. It was nice to be the one waited on this year. I would definitely go back.

Good but . . .
Our dinner was good but here are my comments: My turkey was tender but tasted a little old, gravy was not hot, no green veggies on the plate--you need the green bean casserole--. A dinner salad, appetizer, and dessert should have been included in the price. The advertisement said "all the fixings" and that should include everything. However, the serving staff was very good and the ambiance was good.
