The Gold Coast is one of the best restaurants in Alameda. We dined here again on Friday evening. The service was impeccable and the food excellent. There Specials Menu is impressive but we ordered the braised lamb shanks off the regular menu and they were delicious!! Friday nights is also enjoyable for the live piano. We will return!!

Always good food and service
This restaurant continually provides tasty well prepared food. Some Greek dishes too! Attentive wait staff and owners who are always there. This time they accommodated a special request I had for a person in our party who wished corned beef the day before St Patrick's

Gold Coast Grill is one of my favorite Alameda restaurants. It's great for aa special occasion but comfortable enough to take the family. There is something on the menu for everyone. My personal favorite is the Shrimp Scampi!

A very nice birthday dinner!
It was my third time at Gold Coast Grill and it's back to a 5 rating. We had a very pleasant and attentive waiter. My husband had a martini (excellent) and a smoked salmon appetizer which he loved. I enjoyed a Greek salad as a starter. He had their signature dish - rack of lamb - which he said was one of the best he'd ever tasted (high praise). I had the special halibut which was also excellent. It was fresh and cooked to perfection. Tom had a Greek dessert in filo pastry that we couldn't pronounce, but he loved it. I had written down in Open Table special instructions that it was his birthday, so the wait staff came and sang to him (nice voices by the way) and put a candle in his dessert. Very classy!

If you like fish, this is the place
I have been eating at the Gold Coast for for over 20 years. It is one of the only restaurants in the bay area that consistently cooks fresh fish really well. Their Greek specialties are really good as well. Generous, reasonably priced cocktails and wine. it is a bit dowdy but I'd rather have great food than hip atmosphere. You can also hear your table mates when they speak without shouting. Get the whole roasted fish with sauteed greens. Yummmm.

Dinner at the Gold Coast was delicious! Our waiter was extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a round table for 8. This provided an easy flow for conversation. The pan seared halibut was perfect! We can recommend the filet steak, shrimp scampi, eggplant parm., and the moussaka. They were done to perfection!
We look forward to returning for another wonderful meal!!!

Went here because their steaks come recommended and we were not at all disappointed!
Very reasonable prices for the quality, and the waiters are just charming too.

The Gold Coast is a locals
The Gold Coast is a locals favorite. The food and service is consistently very good. If you like Mediterranean with a touch of Greek, this is your place. The menu while not large has great variety from a roasted whole Mediterranean bass, slow roasted lamb shank, pastas, to possibly the best burger in Alameda.

The Gold Coast is one of those small neighborhood gems that often is over looked and forgotten. We are always warmly greeted and the service is always impeccable and on Friday nights we love the live piano. This last Friday night we both had one of the "Specials of the Day" the whole roasted sea bass and it was absolutely delicious and accompanied with a great wine.. the evening was Outstanding!! We will return!

We're big fans of the Gold
We're big fans of the Gold Coast. They offer a wonderful variety of Mediterranean dishes with a Greek touch. From fish, pasta, fine steaks to the best burger in Alameda. We've been going there for years and have never been disappointed.

Love it every time!
Whether I'm going for a juicy hamburger, fries and a beer to watch a game-or sitting at a little table with a friend with Metaxa, calamari and saganaki, sharing a moussaka dinner and finishing with baklava-or sitting at a dining table with family starting with grilled octopus, marides, spanikopita and lemon chicken soup-dinner we'll have pastitsio, roasted rack of lamb, horta, whole grilled fish and Greek salad-dessert, handmade galactoboureko and espresso! Love it every time!
Holidays, private parties, or birthdays, the Gold Coast Grill goes out of its way to deliver an enjoyable evening for their patrons (many are now friends), by offering welcoming hospitality, traditional music and authentic cuisine! Happy 21st Anniversary-Thank you!

This was our first time at Gold Coast Grill, but likely not the last! We found it on Yelp while looking for local Mediterranean cuisine. Easy to find and easy to park. We were seated right away by a very courteous waitstaff. While the menu was more Greek and less of what I think of as typical Mediterranean, the food was delicious. My wife cannot eat dairy and the staff was very accomodating, making sure that the meal she was interested in could be made without milk, butter, cheese, etc. They even brought the feta cheese for my salad on the side, just in case she wanted to nibble at it! I had the lamb shank which was extremely tender, fall-off-the bone. Maybe a little more flavorful next time, but still very good. Great overall!

Revisiting the Gold Coast Grill
It has been years (20) since I've been here. My father used to get the Lamb Shanks which was always good, so that's what I ordered. The Shanks were tasty and tender and the vegetables were cooked "just right", not too soft. The service was excellent. I would go back for a special occasion some time, but it is not a place that I would frequent regularly.
My friend who went with me also used to frequent this place when he worked at Ron Good's Toyota across the street. He thought his meal was rather bland compared to what it used to be. Maybe it's just his aging taste buds!
Anyway, it is good for special occasions!

My husband and I went there
My husband and I went there with another couple - we each had cocktails and they were good. I ordered grilled whole Sea Bream (I was told it was like Sea Bass) Greek style, from their daily special menu, and it was very good. It came with some vegetable, but no carbo. So I asked for some mashed potato and the waiter brought it out right away. My husband’s Roasted Rack of Lamb was also very good, and the portion was large, too. Our friends ordered Rib Eye steak and Grilled Sole and they were both happy with what they ordered. Overall it was a good dining experience.

Great food & atmosphere
The food, atmosphere & service was amazing. We tried many different dishes including appetizers, soups, salads, entrees & desserts. They were all delicious. Price was very good for the quality! I highly recommend this restaurant and will go there again when we visit the area. The owner was in the dining room checking on tables & providing outstanding customer service!

French onion soup to die for!
The service was impeccable as always. The soup was great. My veal less so - it was thick and tasted more like thin sliced steak than veal. The veal is usually very good , so I don't know what happened this time

Great anniversary dinner!
From the greeting at the door, to the excellent service, to the fantastic food, everything was great! My husband loved the rack of lamb and the sea bass entre melted in my mouth. The appetizer, salads and desserts, as well, were all a taste sensation!

Great time at Gold Coast
The service was fantastic, the food delicious, and the live piano music was great. Not a huge selection of wines, but what I tried was quite good. We will definitely go back again soon. Most people there were babby-boomer generation, but there people of all ages, including a couple children.

The Gold Coast is one of the those neighbor gem's that knows how to make their dinner guests feel welcome and appreciated. The service is always professional and friendly. Friday night my husband had the swordfish and I had the whole roasted sea bass. Both dishes were excellent and we highly recommend both. Friday evenings are always fun for the piano music. A great way to spend the evening!

Friendly and helpful
The Gold Coast is one of the very few restaurants in the East Bay that includes a Greek theme. This was a delightful alternative to Thanksgiving at home for us. The staff was very helpful in accommodating our two physically challenged guests and their service dog--a delightfully small, quiet and inoffensive pooch.
Our meals--three traditional turkey dinners and one Greek--moussaka--were served in a timely fashion and our deserts--Delicious homemade pumpkin, pecan pies included in the Thanksgiving Specials and a slice of baklava--provided a nice end of the meal treat.

It was fantastic! I am a nurse and so I worked on Thanksgiving (at Stanford). My husband and I don't have any family nearby, so I set about trying to find someplace for 8:45pm on Thanksgiving...not easy. Gold Coast Grill was open until 9:30pm and so I took a gamble on somewhere I'd never been before. What a delightful surprise! It was a cozy, elegant, and relaxing atmosphere with WONDERFUL food! We chose the special Thanksgiving meal, which was phenomenal. I started with butternut squash soup (my favorite) and then had a delicious feast of a plate set before me! Turkey (light and dark meat), mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, sweet poatatoes, rolls...and then the very best (not hyperbole) pumpkin pie I have ever had.
