We loved the food, great service,
We loved the food, great service, extensive beer list - amazing selection of bottles. The menu items were innovative, expertly prepared with skill and care. We've been to other restaurants which presented eclectic small plates and innovative dishes, but thought G2B was a step above the others. A great place, we will return again.

Simply terrific, that is ALL
Our waitress made the night, she was so friendly and easeful and knowledgeable. Just a lovely girl. Then the FOOD was perfect, every dish. Three of us had vegetarian choices and one ate the lambburger. All were most happy.
We then ordered two desserts to share and they were superb, better than anything. oh wow
We are all seniors and wondered if giant TVs and noises would be too much. It was ok, did not distract us or worry us. We sat next to the cooks and were thrilled that the head chef is a FEMALE.
And we were told she is a meat person but her vegetarian dishes are really fine.

Dinner at G2B
G2B is a wow! My wife finally agreed to try something new so we went to G2B and after having a little trouble finding it, it's in the back of an office building, we were pleasantly surprised. Great wine list with reasonable prices. Menu is a mix of small plates and entree's. We started with a chicotarie board, featuring Duck, Duck pate and some great cheeses that were fantastic. We then shared a few small plates. Best risotto I have ever had. and had desert as well. The menu isn't huge but very eclectic.

An off night
The dining room was not full but it took forever to get our food. The drinks were small for the price and slow to be brought to the table. The saving grace was the food - delicious.
5/2/2013 4:00:00 PM
something for everyone
The men at G2B is unique and inventive with a variety of price points, and the food was delicious. Our server was a little strange, urging my party to order even before serving most of our drinks. And another server noticed that we never got bread and took care of it.
5/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
It was nice to eat at a restaurant with a menu that was different than the norm. Excellent food. Liked it so much we made reservations for brunch.

I absolutely love the grilled
I absolutely love the grilled romaine -- I hope you keep it on the menu for a long time!!!
5/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
This was a great find. A fit for foodies menu in a trendy restaurant that is also kid-friendly. We got great, interesting food, along with trying some new local beers from their amazing beer list, while our kids hung out in the gaming chairs and played the wii before eating their burger and fries. The small plates that we tried were great, and I was impressed with the house-made breads and house-made charcuterie. This restaurant is a bit hidden behind the building, which may be why it was not very crowded, but it is definitely worth checking out. Oh, and good service makes a good meal. The waiter was knowledgeable and helpful with the beers and navigating the menu.

From the moment we hit the front door until the moment we walked out the front door, we felt like we were special guests. Chris was a perfect Host to a great evening out. We had only given a passing thought to where we would have dinner and wanted to try something new for us. Chris made sure we made the right choice. This pub has an impressive beer list and the menu has something for everyone as well. We chose a table outside and were treated to a passing storm. We had perfect cover from the rain and the view was fun. Our waitress was attentive and likable. The food was expertly prepared. Our table had the five item charcuterie, scotch egg, grilled romaine, the G2B burger and garlic fries. We didn't have room for dessert.

Nice to find a good restaurant open on Sunday night!
Food was excellent and nicely served. We really liked the wild mushroom risotto with the mixed lettuce salad. We shared a great swordfish entree.......and then finished off with two "homemade" deserts!
Two of us went for the first time to celebrate an anniversary. Not crowded.....and if it had been, it might have been too noisy for a quiet, special dinner. Not a "romantic" ambience but pleasant and very attentive and knowledgeable staff.
I imagine it could be a "vibrant bar scene". It wasn't on a quiet Sunday, Holiday evening.
Amazing selection of beer......although we prefer wine and had some good wind by the glass.
We definitely will go back......and take some friends with us!

1st time great, 2nd time better
My wife and I really enjoyed G2B when we came the first time, so we figured we would try it out again during Triangle Restaurant Week. The prix fixe menu looked exciting, but at only 20 dollars I was a little worried. Well they certainly brought their A game. As there were two choices each course, my wife and I got one of everything and it was all great. I especially enjoyed the coffee and cocoa rubbed pork tenderloin, while my wife's favorite was the chocolate ganache dessert. Our server Daniel was really friendly and quick with service, and the manager Chris recommended two beers off their 'reserve' list that were delicious.
We will definitely be back again and are hoping to try one of their beer dinners soon.
6/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
I love eating at G2B and enjoy their regular menu. But I especially love seeing what they've come up with for Triangle Restaurant Week as they seem to be especially inventive with that special menu. This time the watermelon/cucumber soup and the rosemary ice cream were special treats, as was the pork main course. I hit a perfect weather night for eating outside, too. Excellent and fun!

Prix fixe for Triangle Week
My friend and I went here to catch up and to take advantage of the $20 3-course Prix Fixe menu during Triangle Restaurant week. We were delighted with everything and got a real bargain! Outstanding first course of haricot vert with fried egg on top, followed by entrees of shrimp with risotto and pork tenderloin, and a wonderful chocolatey dessert. Our server, Mariano, was attentive and helpful without being overbearing.

Restaurants Week Buzz
A very upscale offering for $20.00 bucks however a very limited menu.
6/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Wonderful, friendly service.
Wonderful, friendly service. We went for the first time during Triangle Restaurant Week, and the cook was even willing to create me a gluten-free version of their featured dessert! Will definitely plan on going back.
6/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
Another impressive fantastic meal!
Once again we had an amazing experience at G2B. The food is absolutely fantastic. There is something for every palette. From burgers to foie gras, and also a gorgeous combination of both! Whether you want something traditional or something more inventive, G2B has it. Full bar with a great beer and wine selection, the highest quality fresh local ingredients, house-made charcuterie, vegetarian and pescatarian options, beautiful though unpretentious atmosphere, great for a date or a family or work outing....the reasons to love this place go on and on. This is our favorite restaurant in Durham. I cannot recommend it enough!

We went there during Restaurant Week and had a great time. The food, the service everything was great.

Great food Great decor
Overall a great evening. Our server was Total disconnected from planet earth. Had to repeat everything 3 times
6/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a really delightful evening at G2B. The food was excellent with choices in all categories. My husband had a hamburger, I had 2 appetizers, our friends had main courses and we were all extremely happy. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It's kind of hard to find, but worth seeking out and the light show is fun.
6/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Definitely thumbs up !
Great service and food ! Ambience top notch ! Please check this place out !

G2B exceeded our expectations!
We went to G2B to celebrate my birthday with friends. The entire staff was friendly and helpful to us when we were making our dining selections. Their suggestions we excellent in food, wine and beer. We enjoyed the selections of cheeses and in-house cured meats as well as the delicious breads. We chose the small plates and were not disappointed in our three different choices.
The desserts were extra special as well. "Yummy" is a word that comes to mind!
We look forward to our next visit. :)

Innovative and delicious
There are MANY good things to say about G2B. Located in an easy-to-miss spot in the back of a bank building, it's a beautiful space inside, vibrant and welcoming, with an open kitchen. Our server was quite knowledgable and able to help us make good decisions about some unusual offerings (although a great burger is available for those seeking familiar, comfort food!) The beer and wine list is presented on an iPad, a fun touch.
There is live music most Saturday nights, often jazz, in a separate space. While not as interesting as the main dining room, it's a good place to sit if you want to enjoy live music while you eat.
G2B is a "sister" restaurant to ONE in Chapel Hill -- a bit more casual, a bit less expensive. Both are excellent.
7/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
G2B is in a strange spot, but is worth the visit. Great food and wine and a covered patio. The service is always good. Been there many times and will continue to go back.
7/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Beautiful space, beautiful food
I have been to G2B twice now and have really enjoyed it both times. The service is impeccable. Blake, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, but not overly attentive (I like to carry on a conversation with my dinner partners without being interrupted every 2 minutes to be asked how I'm doing). He steered us toward some delicious dishes when we had questions. At my most recent visit, we all had the heirloom tomato salad with fresh local corn and a lemon vinigarette - it was amazing and there was not a drop left on any of our plates. All of our small plates and entrees were excellent. If you don't order the fries as a side, order them as an appetizer - they are scrumptious. I will be going back again.

Nice place but out of the way
Great food, great service. Very weird location , but very cool inside. Server was excellent, food was great. Too bad the location isn't more central to downtown or some better location . Enjoyed our meals. The hostess could have been a bit more friendly, our server was excellent. Would definitely try it again or recommend it for a very different experience.
7/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Try it; you'll like it
Always on the short list of places to eat whether its for a regular night out or for a special occasion.
7/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everyone was able to choose items that would fit their dietary needs. The fish was done perfectly with a nice balance of seasonal vegetables. The shrimp risotto was beautiful also with plenty of vegetables. The hamburger was juicy and delicious. Everyone savored their dishes. We were also happy with the small plate choices. Some enjoyed the beer specials, they were given samples ahead of time to make better choices. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The only thing I stirred away from was the wall of media playing. We asked to sit away from the media wall but it I don't think there are any seats where you can totally escape it. Overall our visit
was excellent and fun.

Love the food.Best I've had
Love the food.Best I've had in whole area. Great beer list too. I can't say enough about this place. I drove an hour and a half just to eat here on my birthday. It's that good. Everything!!
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
The beer selection is excellent and Chris knows every flavor! We had a taste for meat tonite and went specifically for the hamburgers. I had the G2B Burger and fries. My fiance had the lamb burger with a side of roasted beets and arugula. We shared a small plate of mac and cheese. It was more food than we needed but we were willing to take some home in order to taste the goodness. It really was a good evening and the dishes came perfectly prepared and timed nicely. Thanks G2B for a wonderful experience!

Upscale Comfort Food
The atmosphere manages to be modern and rustic at the same time with very comfortable leather chairs, big wood-grain tables, stained cement floor. I expected it to be louder but the sound baffles cleverly worked into the ceiling fixtures worked very well.
Food style lends itself to mix and match sharing of small plates that provided a nice way to sample many different flavors without over-spending.

Get your wine by the bottle
We really do like G2B; we've dined at this well-hidden restaurant several times and have enjoyed everything we've ordered. This time it was Watermelon Soup paired with Mahi-Mahi and Hierloom Tomato Salad paired with Cocoa and Coffee Crusted Pork Loin. From previous visits we would recommend the Lamb Burger and Charcuterie Plate. BUT, if you want wine with your dinner, order a bottle, not glasses! We think G2B gives the shortest pours in town. Most restaurants seem to get about 5 glasses from a bottle, but G2B probably gets at least 7, maybe more.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very enjoyable evening
Food was fantastic and very varied. Staff were knowledgeable and personable. Terrific wine advice and even decanted for us. Noisy enough not to feel stiff and we were able to chat without being overheard. Really enjoyable overall evening.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
I think a highlight of the menu is the chilled watermelon soup (my personal favorite) and for the quality of food not to break one's wallet--it is likely one of my, if not the, favorite restaurants in Durham!
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Every friday they have a free live jazz band preforming at the back, highly recommended :)
8/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great overall experience.
Been ere multiple times. Scotch egg is a great choice.

We've dined at G2B 4 or 5
We've dined at G2B 4 or 5 times now; this time we brought friends who were eating there for the first time. Our friend said that had she not been out in public, she would have licked the plate! The gently changing menu keeps it interesting while maintaining some solid standards. And the fresh ingredients shine. Clay, our waiter, was fun and knowledgeable. We were also delighted to meet Chef Karen and talk food with her. We'll be back!

All round gem!
Food......amazing! Service..........first rate! Quality and uniqueness ........must not miss!

Love the Small Plates
We enjoyed dinner with friends and my 10-year-old and 4year-old. The small plates worked well for the kids. I had the "Duck, Duck, Mousse" and Kale salad. The mousse was one of the better ones that I have had and the kale salad was very tasty. The kitchen accommodated one of my friend's dietary needs (no salt, no butter) very successfully. My kids loved the Wii, but had to compete with a large group from another table for playing time. I will definitely return again.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Awesome food and great beer
We had the NY strip and hanger steak with draft beer. The food was Cooked perfectly and beer selection was impressive. We will definitely be going back!

Outstanding experience at G2B!
We celebrated an impt family birthday at G2B and are so glad that we did. Well worth the 25 mile round trip from Raleigh. The entrees were delicious, the atmosphere a great combination of intimate yet still vibrant, and the restaurant a great combination of the comfort of a neighborhood joint and urban style of a hip restaurant. Though the restaurant was bustling, the tables are spaced widely enough and acoustic design made quiet conversation easy and enjoyable. The service blew us away! The staff was professional, yet personal, available but not hovering, and so very kind. They made my Mom (the birthday celebrant) feel so special. The Mint Julep Jazz band (different room) afterwards was extraordinary! Every detail at G2B was perfect!
10/24/2013 5:00:00 PM
Our meal was amazingly creative, the service was perfection, and the cocktails were sublime!

Visit #2, we will be back again!
The wife and I hit up G2B again and were in awe of the totally new menu! Fresh and fun, it totally embraces fall flavors. Really enjoyed the pumpkin farro 'risotto'. Our server Daniel was exceptional, had an answer for every question about the menu, and the manager Chris helped us select some great beers. Definitely need to make it to one of their beer dinners.
Side note the bar was rather busy, even as we were leaving later on. They have a late-night small plate deal, and live jazz in their lounge which was good. Definitely seems like this place is growing, good to see it being successful!
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
This place was packed on a Thursday night. The menu and execution were terrific. If they were located downtown they'd be mobbed routinely. Worth making the trip and finding!
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Very Gastro Gastro Pub
Imaginative menu focused on small plates. "It's what we do best here." But, you can't go wrong with the whole grilled fish, either. Drink menu is an electronic tablet. Cool idea - I guess. Except half of them were non-functional when I visited. The manager talked me through the wine list.
Excellent quality food creatively prepared.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
The preparation & presentation
The preparation & presentation of the food was impressive and the flavors masterful. Our entire party of four enjoyed every bite! We will definitely return with friends ASAP!

Excllent place for a business lunch
Not noisy, great food, the Charcuterie Plate was fabulous, topped off with some burgers and a salad. One of my favorite places.
11/19/2013 4:00:00 PM
Terrific pub food
At long last, a real gastropub in the Triangle. Charcuterie made in-house and a great selection of cheeses and many small plates to order, along with more traditional entrees (like a truly terrific burger.)
