This is a fantastic French
This is a fantastic French Restaurant. However the location is a little odd, in the back of an office complex. We both had the 5 course dinner and I loved each and every course.

Great find. A real gourmet treat. Felt like I was in the French countryside, but the food was definitely city fare. Don't miss it. A bargain compared to San Francisco prices.

Best of the Best
Best of the Best! I have been to many a five star restaurants, from San Francisco to Montreal, from Paris to Monaco, Italy, Japan, etc. Anyway you get the idea, this is one of the best I have been to for the quality, presentation, and preparation of the food everything was done to perfection. The owner and chef Jean Pierre obviously takes pride in what he does. There is a nice friendly family atmosphere (with out the kids). The waiter David, and his assistant were extremely attentive and wanted to ensure we were served each course when We wanted it. I will definitely return, each and every time I am in the area.

We have not visited this wonderful
We have not visited this wonderful restaurant in nearly 20 years and what a great find "again." Every dinner course was fabulous---even a shrimp cocktail took on a whole new meaning. The halibut was great as were desserts and the wonderful hearts of palm salad. This is French Bistro food at it's casual yet elegant best. We will return to this gem again and again. Delightful but a little expensive.
The food itself was good, but the menu was not very extensive. And the place was expensive. They mainly offer a prix-fix menu, but you can also order a la carte. The prix-fix menu is five courses (soup, appetizer, salad, entree, dessert); it was $52 per person. Myself, I can't eat five courses. So we went a la carte, just a salad and an entree. I ordered the tournedos, my wife ordered the halibut. The entree came with nothing else, no potatoes, no vegetables. And the portions were sort of small. But that's OK with me, at most restaurants the portions are way too large for me. I left feeling satisfied and not over-stuffed. Good service.

This was the second time that my husband and I had dinner at Le Bistro; the first time being last summer. The food, service and ambience are wonderful! It has no view of the lake, being in the back of a small shopping center, but it is a lovely restaurant. We will definitely go back!

Superb Fine Dining
A multi-course menu with wine pairings provides for both variety and focus on specialties. Excellent sauces inspire the best flavor possible from entrees, and the knowledgable staff helps to create a very enjoyable fine dining experience. We keep coming back!

At first I was a wee bit worried we walked into a $52 prix-fixed menu. The service was a wee bit slow at first however the food more than made up for this fact. Plan on a 2 hour plus meal when dining here. Food was absolutely fantastic and service was definitely friendly but on a busy night they probably should have had one more waitstaff on hand.

we went with friends and had a fabulous meal. Everyone loved everything they ordered. The prix fixe menu is a treat, and each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Can;t say enough good things.

A delectable experience
The prix fixe was all you'd hope; my wife and I had different courses except for soup and dessert, and everything from the amuse-bouche to the incredibly delectable dessert treat assortment was flavorful and beautifully presented. A casual but comfortable ambiance and well-paced service brought it all together. Not the view of the lodge showplace on the lake, but a superior dining experience without question.

food was amazing as usual, but very crowded (wait staff kept bumping into us--tables were way too close together). Glad they are doing well but maybe they shouldn't attempt to serve so many people at once.
But again, love the food!

This is a shining star in
This is a shining star in Incline Village. They serve a five course dinner with several choices for each course - each being better than the last. The food is excellent and the wait staff is very friendly. This was our second time at the restaurant and we'll definitely be back for another delicious dinner.

First visit - terrific food
First visit - terrific food and memorable dinner. As others have said, service is slow, probably because they could use more waitstaff. Spoken as a true American, I am sure, with our impatience but still like to hold dinner to 2 hours - ours was over 3, though for 6 people. Will definitely return in the future.

We found this restaurant on opentable and decided to give it a try. We expected a typical tahoe mediocre dining experience.
What we got however, was such an amazing experience - that we went back for a second night.
We all remarked, that we'd drive back up to tahoe from san francisco, just to eat here.
The service, the food, the quality, the wine - simply outstanding.
Thank you Le Bistro for such 2 memorable evenings, the highlights of our trip!

Incline Village gem!
We have wanted to go here for years. The food was presented in beautiful fashion! Plates were warm and orders were placed in the proper position without asking. Everything on the menu was fantastic! We shared some bites and everything was excellent! Nice to have a great restaurant in Incline Village!! Definitely would recommend this to anyone!!

We both traveled for a living and have eaten all over the world. This is the best restaurant we have ever eaten in - including France.
For us it is a special occasion place - we only get there four or five times a year - but it is always a treat to dine there.

Vive Le Bistro!
We were there with our two twenty-something son and daughter. She's a picky vegetarian; he's a fast-food-junkie. My husband and I are foodies. It was fantastic for all of us!! They had vegetarian choices which were probably as delicious as everything else on the menu! It was prix-fixe, five-course and you could get the wine-pairing which my husband did. It was better than dining - it was an experience not soon forgotten! Every course was a delight and the menu changes often. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity when you go to Incline Village. The restaurant is across from the Hyatt on the opposite side of the shops. Quiet and quaint, like a little bistro in Paris!

Best restaurant in Incline Village
The best restaurant on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. We have eaten here twice, eight years apart, and the food remains superb. The 5 course fixed price menu is well worth the $52 cost. While the service was rushed at the beginning of our meal, it was somewhat understandable, as a large party that would probably fill the entire restaurant, was due to arrive later in the evening.
Nevertheless, the meal was one of the highlights of our Lake Tahoe vacation.

Last Minute Birthday Savior - Nice
The wines were a little pricey, but nice (They do accept a reasonable corkage fee however). The wait staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and excellent. The Table d'hôte menu was well constructed and the tastes were nice. Dinner was priced fairly and service was excellent. A small neighborhood place somewhat of a trick to find.
Overall 41/2 stars and we will do it again (bringing our own wine).

Nice little restaurant with a very unique old European charme. The food was just great, everything we had. And the service was very friendly, patient and informative. All in all a really good experience for our anniversary dinner.

Elegance at Tahoe
We celebrated a special birthday at this upscale, but small French restaurant. The menu is a five course "prix- fixe" with lots of choices. Wine is extra so it is great value for the money but count on about $80 a person. All items are very authentic French. I had a potato gnocchi , green bean salad and duck confit, all of which were excellent. Our guest had the lamb- also very good. Portions are small but very satisfying. We all thoroughly enjoyed the desert plate of well made miniatures. Having forgotten to notify them of our friend's birthday they nice scrambled with a decorative plate of chocolate complete with candle.

Lives up to reputation and more
This little slightly out-of-the-way delivered on its reputation for superb French cuisine. The pace was leisurely and service as attentive. They took greta care of our party of 12.

One of the best anywhere
My wife and I ate there for the first time because we were looking for a nice place for dinner in the North Lake Tahoe area. We're from San Francisco and New York, and have traveled a lot of the world and we both agreed that Le Bistro was not only the best restaurant we've eaten at in the Tahoe area, but one of the best anywhere. A terrific find. The 5 course dinner, with each plate being a relatively small/moderate size, and each unique and presented beautifully was perfect. The only problem, and it's not a big one, is that the restaurant is hidden in the back of a shopping area and a little hard to find. Look for it -- it's well worth it.
8/15/2013 5:00:00 PM
We had not been to Le Bistro for several years, but it was as good as ever. The service was friendly and the food delicious and beautifully presented. We all had (and highly recommend) the 5 course dinner. Our only problem was that we had eaten too much at lunchtime and were having trouble finishing all of the delicious dinner courses! We'll be back.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a wonderful dinner recently. The food was exceptional for the Reno-Tahoe area and the service was friendly and timely. We enjoyed the old world atmosphere, but the noise level was somewhat distracting. However, we had a small corner table which helped. I would recommend to anyone. Somewhat pricey, and I would do the price fixed dinner as serving were small but adequate.

Very Special at Lake Tahoe
We have been to Le Bistro twice to celebrate our anniversary, and each time the food has been exceptional. The ambience is a little lacking--no view, French Bistro casual rather than elegant--but the food is outstanding and every bit as good as anything we have had in France or in San Francisco. The five course fixed price dinner is a bargain, and for another $40 or so they will pair the wines to each course. The portions are small but elegant, and I have never left feeling hungry. The dessert is worth the price of admission--a sampler of several different wonderful sweet things. Le Bistro is my favorite restaurant at Lake Tahoe--fit for foodies, but still casual and totally charming.

Hits all the high notes
The food is wonderfully and professionally planned, prepared and presented. The chef has clearly devoted a lot of love, craft and perfectionism into the menu. Excellence to the taste buds in nearly every bite. The quality of the 5 course meal at $53 is amazing. They offer a number of decent wines by the glass at a decent price, and also preparet a very tasty Kir Royale! We were treated with courtesy and excellent assistance by all of the staff. Proved to be a very memorable evening out. Highly recommend

Best dinner we had(3 persons)
Best dinner we had(3 persons) in Tahoe area recently. It's a cozy restaurant with nice decor and noise level acceptable after on large group of diners left fairly soon after we arrived.Salad of leeks was flavorful, soft but not mushy and nicely presented.Appetizer duck pate, ordered by two, very good.Tournedos of beef(ordered by two) with underlaying mashed potatoes and touch of red wine were very tasty and also nicely arranged on the plate.Medallions of veal were tender, not too thick and looked good with mushrooms .All plates were hot,as they should be. Wine selection, both by glass or bottle is extensive.Mojito was good and strong, also as it should be.Service was attentive but not rushed.Recommend this place very highly, food was outstanding,

Great Food, Great Presentation
You can get quite a delicious meal at Le Bistro. The menu had a good number of options for each course in the 5 course meal. You certainly won't go home hungry.
The wine pairing, which featured some pretty delicious wines, was paired well with my course selections. The presentation of each course was also quite well done. Everything from the salad to the dessert was plated with a lot of color and attention to detail.
Finally, the service was what you would expect from a high end dining experience. The wait staff was talkative, friendly, punctual, very knowledgeable about the food and wine.
This is my second visit in 4 years, and the quality has remained excellent. I would definitely recommend it.

Prix-Fix or A La Carte you can't go
A lovely, little restaurant tucked behind other restaurants off Country Club Drive. We all enjoyed the wonderful Acme Bread. The Tomato Bisque w/ Puff Pastry Shell was rich & flavorful but know to prepare will delay the entire meal. Duck Liver Mousse & Potato Gnocchi are perfect starters; Escargot is marvelous with a great (but small) Romaine Salad, we would love to had in a larger salad version w/o snails for those not interested. Everyone enjoyed the Baby Lettuces w/Apples & Cranberries & Balsamic Dressing. Entre's: Halibut with Orzo, Tenderloins with Bleu Cheese & Duck Confit w/Lentils were each marvelous! Save room for the House' Le Grand Dessert - a darling selection of mini pasties, get 2 to share for 4 people.

22 year hidden gem
We have been coming to Tahoe since we were kids ... for our seventh wedding anniversary, someone recommended this place in Incline. Completely surprised! Our trusted friends are always solid ... this was just better than we would have ever thought it could have been! Food, service, experience, all six stars.

Food is fantastic. The owner/manage
Food is fantastic. The owner/manager (?) waffles between being super friendly and helpful to being a bit of a git. So, not quite sure about what's going on there. This was our second time dining here and it was the same both times. One example that comes to mind (among others) is when he came up to the table, while my friend had one bite still left on her plate--and clearly not actively pursuing that last bite, he basically rolled his eyes and asked if she was done. Not really sure what he was trying to get across, but his annoyance was palpable.
Anyway, very delicious food and worth putting up with a few eye-rolls to eat it.
