Great addition to SOBE
What a lovely experience this was - the perfect backdrop for a special day. I am a fan of Chef Schwartz and this is a great addition. Can't beat the ambiance! The service was attentive and sincere and refreshing. The only glitch was timing from kitchen - maybe a little faster turnaround with requests. But that pales to the experience, and will definitely go back. Food and cocktails were simply divine.

Not and inexpensive place to dine but excellent quality food. Don't miss the mushrooms!!!!!!!!!!

Average Lunch Experience
The service was a little slow, especially when they were not that busy. Beautiful outdoor space. Food was good, not something I would go back for soon.

Fabulous Dinner in South Beach
The food was excellent. The server explained everything to us and his information helped us with our choices. We can highly recommend this restaurant and will return again when we are in the area.

Gorgeous setting, delightful food
The Raleigh Hotel is an art deco masterpiece, with a pool and surrounding back area, festooned with scores of white orchids, to match. Most restaurant tables are outside, looking over the pool, eastward toward the beach, and the food's quality fits the delightful surroundings. The dishes we had were creative, made from fresh ingredients, and nearly perfectly prepared. Swordfish served over red lentil couscous, for example, is easily and nearly always cooked until it becomes dry. This was moist throughout. A key lime bread pudding was inventive, tasty, and surprisingly light. It's gratifying to see that Michael Schwartz's new venture is up to the standard of his original in the Design District, but in a more romantic and relaxed environment.

Had Mother's Day brunch here and it was absolutely delicious. Each mom was given a pink rose and a complimentary glass of champagne. All of the items we ordered off the menu were amazing. Especially the peaches & cream filled doughnts. Would definitely return.
5/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
bold name for his new venture. but I suppose if I was the proprietor of such a gem I would put my name in the title as well. our items were all outstanding: potato chips & dip, oysters, gnudi (my fav), duck confit (cooked brilliantly), lamb shank (tender moist and flavorful), grilled zucchini w anchovy butter (could have been slightly more anchovy and less watery) and a lemon meringue bread pudding (that my gal loved). overall many stars!!!!

Check This Place Out
Unfortunately we weren't incredibly hungry and only stopping in for a couple appetizers and a cocktail to try this place out, because I want to try everything on the menu. Kind of relaxing with a lot of greenery around the hotel pool, which was quiet. Had the Marinated Olives which were very good but were they were, olives. Had the Grilled Octopus, which was absolutely perfect. The real treat was the tomatoes and house made ricotta cheese, I was literally eating it with a spoon. One of the best things I have ever tasted. Not a terribly expensive place unlike most of the restaurants in South Beach, but definitely one of the best. Service was also very good. Can not wait to go back next time in Miami, only this time I'll bring my appetite.
5/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Beautiful old school ambiance, deceitfully simple yet delicious food. We had the pickled vegetables to start, with the swordfish (delectable) and the roasted chicken. Ended with the salted caramel chocolate bar (ridiculously good). Even with the wonderful meal, what was even more impressive was the atmosphere. We were there at the same time as a very loud weekend event was taking place right outside on the street, yet we felt like we were worlds away sitting under the trees of the restaurant. Will return when we return!

Restaurant Michael Schwartz...SUPER
We celebrated my wife's birthday at this restaurant last week. Staff, food and ambiance were superb !! Especially the staff...who ALL wished my wife Happy Birhday, including the valet patking attendant when we retieved our car !! Food was as interesting and excellent as the original Michael's in the Design District would have led one to believe. And finally, I ordered flowers via open table, Their presence was confirmed by the restaurant in the booking call confirmation, and then they were bought to our table promptly and commented on, favorably, and repeatedly, by the staff...a very nice touch. So, overall, a great place to eat...we will return...made especially wonderful by the absolutely EXCELLENT staff.......well done !!! Cheers Alan

Pricey but worth it
Great variety, incredible staff knowledge of menu, and wonderfully creative, inventive food. You'll pay the same as you would at any other South Beach hot spot, but you'll actually get thoughtfully-prepared food that is worth every penny.
5/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
You have to try the shrimp toast here, and really any of the small bites. I was surprised and pleasantly blown away by the bites at the drinks here. The sandwiches were great as well.

We have loved the Raleigh Hotel for a decade, but not so much for its food. We were just expecting a decent burger with a view of the Raleigh's sensational pool. What a surprise to find such delicious, well-thought-out and healthy food at Restautant Michael Schwartz. By far they best meal we have ever had in South Beach.
6/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Felicitation to the chef and all the staff. Wonderfull night!

Michael Schwartz at the Raleigh
We dined here on a Saturday night when the Raleigh was hosting a big outdoor party for Miami Swim week. We were treated like VIP's by the staff, had a beautiful table out near the pool and had great people watching. The food was prepared perfectly. Grouper ceviche had just the right amount of acid, crabcake with carrot puree was perfectly cooked and full of lump crab with no fillers. Wine list was small but diverse. Duck confit was crisp and evoked memories of a Parisian bistro. Milk chocolate bar with caramel was divine. We wiyld definitely return.

A truly elevated dining experience from the moment we arrived until we left. My guests were so impressed with "the best meal ever!" Selection, quality, preparation, presentation, service, ambience - all TOP NOTCH, not to mention EXQUISITE & DELICIOUS!

Very Nice Spot on Sobe
I don't review too much, except when it worth it or either when i advise to avoid it.
You can go to Michael Schwartz without no doubt you'll have a great experience for the price.
While you might encounter tourists scams on Miami Beach, Michael Schwartz restaurant in the Raleigh hotel is just awesome.
the terrace spot is relaxing and romantic, with a real Miami Beach classic athmosphere.
Food is very nice, every dishes were well assembled, cooked perfectly and innovative in a way.
Ambiance was fairly calm as we had dinner earlier ( 7.30 pm ).
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food and drinks were superb! The lump crab meat salad was very fresh with a sublime mix of ingredients. The tomato salad was extremely tasty. Duck confit crispy & excellent. The key lime bread pudding was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Can't wait to return to try other dishes!

Love MIchael Schwartz
First time here, but Michael's Genuine fan. Big time. This is how I love to eat! Sat outside first before a storm came in and sent us under cover. The service faltered up there, unfortunately, but they had to get all of us up there. I wish we'd known that the Spatchcock Chicken took 45 minutes. They never said that and by the time I wanted to order it was too late. Ordered the whole roasted fish which was just fantastic. Had some terrif apps to start, too. I'm coming back and you can't stop me.
8/3/2013 5:00:00 PM
We followed a recommendation from an Anthony Bourdain article. The food was excellent by any standard. So good we will be returning a second time 2 days later.

MICHAEL SCHWARTZ IS PERFECT.......! La comida es sencillamente deliciosa, el lugar maravilloso, la atencion perfecta. THE BEST IN SOUTH BEACH........!

Delicious food in a lovely setting
A group of us went for Miami spice and loved our meal!! The selections on the special menu were varied and the portion sizes were generous. The food is very fresh and they use a unique blend of ingredients for a fresh take on even simple salads and grilled meats. Be sure to start your meal with a specialty drink at the bar or have the amazing young bartender make you a drink to your own specifications. And don't forget the desserts. We tried two and they were both exceptional. The location of the restaurant is great for beginning an evening of fun in south beach or just enjoy the lovely outside setting for a quiet romantic evening. As we left they indicated that they plan to change the menu weekly during Miami spice. We'll be back!!
8/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was good but not
The food was good but not great.... much prefer his other restaurants. The service was mediocre.... nothing worse than an empty drink glass and no waiter in sight to flag down for another drink. I sat inside due to the weather, however i must say the outside was very nice. Good for date night. They just need to improve on the service, not what I'm used to from Michael Schwartz
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Love the setting
Like Michael Schwartz's other locations, the food is great and the desserts even better, but the real treat of the evening is the venue. From the moment you step through the doors into the perfectly restored Raleigh Hotel lobby, and then out to the charming outdoor space, you are in a unique environment. This is one of the most enjoyable, romantic spaces in town when the weather is good.

Great restaurant at the Raleigh. Go
A great find. No criticisms. Wonderful location and outstanding food.

Basil Ice Cream - Unbelievable!

All around amazing!
The food was very well prepared and delicious, but what really sets this restaurant apart is the magnificent Raleigh hotel. Direct views of the pool are possible outside, and the atmosphere is just great. Service was outstanding, and prices, reasonable.
8/24/2013 5:00:00 PM
Fantastic food and cocktails
Start with a drink from the lobby bar. Give Trevor, Ivan or John your choice of spirit and let them take you on a journey.
The grilled octopus is a must try. Tender, wonderful well-balanced flavor. Buffalo rabbit and duck confit helped us get our 'game' on. Both were 'cut with a spoon' delicious. The oysters taste like a walk in a tide pool. Perfect amount of brine and a soft texture on the tongue. The steak tartare was my choice as the competition to the octopus. Make sure to mix in the quail egg for full effect.
I can't imagine anything being less than spectacular
8/25/2013 5:00:00 PM
Went to this restaurant twice, once for dinner and once for drinks. The dinner was recommended to us by an old Sous Chef who used to work there. The food is great, very tasty and hits the spot. All Local and fresh products. The service was impressive, everyone was friendly without being too pushy. I ate the Peach, Feta Salad and the Duck Confit and topped it off with the Caramel Chocolate bar which was heaven!
Great place to try out.

Amazing good and Drinks!
The good and drinks were amazing! The setting of the restuarant is beautiful. We will definitely be returning.

Michael's never disappoints! An amazing atmosphere, great food, friendly service and very accommodating!
8/29/2013 5:00:00 PM
$25 valet parking fee !!!
VALET PARKING: Indigestion !!!
If you're walking or staying at the hotel where it's located, fine. If you need to drive and park, fuhgeddaboudit!!
I've parked at other SOBE restaurants and paid $12-$18. NEVER $25. For dinner, this is ridiculous. And there is no sign at the valet drive-up about the price like at other SOBE places. So I just assumed it would be in the same price range. Other hotel restaurants often offer diners a valet discount. We will not return here. We'll go to Michael's other place in Miami. Similar menu but valet is only $3. I'd rather put the other $22 towards a nice bottle of wine!!

Honeymoon 20 years after the fact
The service and atmosphere were as good as the food. The outdoor dining area by the iconic pool of the Raleigh Hotel was spectacular. The outdoor bar was fun and relaxing at the same time. Nothing over-the-top for a Monday evening. Very attentive wait staff. Ivan the bartender ROCKS. He is a very professional and personable man. He makes specialty drinks according to your preferences.

Very nice ambience and location. Good food and wine selection. Service was average.

Another spectacular venture
Another spectacular venture by Michael Schwartz and the gang. Great food and service surrounded by the art deco ambiance of the Raleigh make for a memorable evening. The 4 of us opted for the Miami Spice menu, and were not dissapointed. No "dumbed-down" version of the regular menu by Michael Schwartz. With pate, mussels, beet salad for apps, grouper hangar steak, or chicken for entrees, and white chocolate bread pudding or lemon meringue tarts for dessert, you can't go wrong for $39 bucks. Service was sublime & attentive. The Raleigh pool setting is one of a kind. Hurry and go before the masses take over
9/5/2013 5:00:00 PM
Food was great and the outdoor dining area is beautiful! Highly recommend.

We went for Sunday brunch
We went for Sunday brunch had a really nice experience. Seated outdoors with the hotel's swimming pool in the distance, we both had a really good brunch. My wife had their version of French toast,TANGERINE CUSTARD FRENCH TOAST. It was different with the taste of tangerine, but really excellent. A definite item to order the next time. I just had a regular breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast. But the bacon also excellent. Cooked just right. The service was also very good. And even the weather was good, though the restaurant can't claim credit for that!

The Perfect Setting
Miami. South Beach. Gorgeously romantic when dining outside. I liked the small/medium/larger plate options which allowed me to try a couple of extra dishes I might not have ordered. Outstanding plates included the local snapper ceviche, figs with housemade ricotta and grilled swordfish. We also ordered the fried "buffalo style rabbit" which would have been a fun spin on an old school classic had the kitchen not over salted the poor bunny! My pet peeves -- nary a morsel of bread or anything to nosh on while waiting for our first course. Second pet peeve extremely overpriced wine list. All in all though a lovely romantic experience with some great dishes.

Nice Food, Probably Wrong Table
This is a nice indoor and outdoor restaurant at the Raleigh Hotel. We thought the outdoor dining by the pool would be perfect. Unfortunately, they seated us on the balcony level adjacent to the handicap elevator. We struggled with a significant obstruction to the view and felt boxed-in by the elevator. Mistake not asking to be reseated. As to the food, after reviewing the entire menu with a number of options that all looked wonderful, we both choose the same thing - the steak tartar for an appetizer and the mussels for a lite entre. Both were wonderful. The tartar included a nice cut of beef, lightly, but nicely seasoned. The mussels were the best I have ever had. The mussels were plentiful and plump, perfectly (not over) cooked.
9/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
We took some clients of ours out for lunch and it was very received by them. They thought it was just beautiful and food was on point and simple no fuss menu. Thanks to the server as well. He was most kind and attentive. I don't remember his name at this time, but took great care of us. Thank you for a great time.

Great food, ambience, service and very romantic but not stuffy.

Romantic outdoor dining
We stayed at The Raleigh so of course we had to check out Restaurant Michael Schwatz. We sat outside by the pool with twinkly lights. The ambience was wonderful and so was the service. I loved the figs in ricotta cheese. My husband loved the steak. The side of potatoes tasted under cooked. We will be back.

Michael Schwartz at the Raliegh HOT
This was my first time at this restaurant. I really enjoyed the ambience and the scenic view of the pool. The food was good. I had the chicken. For dessert we had the fruit pie. The menu is a bit deceiving because it makes it sound as if it is a full size fruit pie, but it's not. It's more of a personal size fruit pie maybe serving for 2; but if you're a fruit pie lover like myself, you'd eat the whole thing. The price of the dessert fruit pie is expense for the size of it. But very tasty. It does come with ice cream "a la mode" style. I would recommend the restaurant to friends.

I took my husband for his birthday & we LOVED the food! The waitress was very nice and helpful. She made good food recommendations. I would definitely go back!

Who doesn't like Michael's food ?
Michael's at The Raleigh is a wonderful treat for anyone visiting S. Beach or anyone living in Miami. The food and the ambience make for a very special night. The staff is gracious and efficient and we always have a good experience here.
11/1/2013 5:00:00 PM
I had their grilled rib eye cap steak and it was finger-licking good! Their popular a hrimp toast was ok, worth the try. Pan roasted chicken was good, but steak was much better!
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Met high expectations!
Loved the steak tartare with quail egg and the bread pudding.

This place is the total package
Restaurant Michael Schwartz had the perfect ambience for special occasion. The entire staff, from the hosts to the general managers to the waiters made you feel like you were the only one in the restaurant. The food was very good, creative, and fresh. This place is the total package. Get the shrimp toast and definitely get dessert.
