Everything at the breakfast
Everything at the breakfast buffet was yummy but they ran out of french pastries very quickly and didn't have any more to put out.

My husband and I had brunch
My husband and I had brunch at the Garden Cafe to celebrate our anniversary. We went last year the day after our wedding and decided it should be a tradition. Everything was just as wonderful as we'd remembered, including the servers/service! We had the same server this year as last year! The variety and quality of foods offered (juice bar, seafood station, traditional breakfast, meats/carving station, desserts, crepes, kids' table) is second to none in Salt Lake City. At $45/per person, it's definitely expensive, but for special occasions, it's a real treat!

5 star ambience, service and food
Wonderful high-end dining experience. Staff are attentive and helpful, food was great, best hotel in Utah and the restaurant is a class act. Any meal is an experience, Saturday brunch is unbeatable.

Some of the best fresh squeezed orange juice I've ever had! Lg selection of freshly squeezed smoothies. Pleasantly surprised to eat sushi and not just your run of the mill salmon either. No prime rib on the day we ate here, which was disappointing. I cannot remember what cut of meat it was, but it was not QUITE up to par due to the meat not being as tender as I would have liked. Nice selection of sides, a few salads, and five or so different types of cheeses. The pancakes had fresh berries in them, the crepes looked promising, bacon was the good stuff and not overcooked, breakfast potatoes so so. Cheesecake incredibly creamy and although I was full from eating for 1.5 hours straight, I still managed to take down 3/4 of a piece.

We take our Mother to the Garden Cafe every Saturday before Mother's Day. She LOVES it and the buffet is perfectly done. We always appreciate that the manager comes around and asks us how we are liking everything and makes us laugh.
Great place for groups and our server was so professional and happy to be there!
We will always keep this tradition, thank you so much!

Waiting In a Cloud
I decided to go to the Grand America Hotel as an independent single local to have some alone time, and to splurge myself. I was placed by a family of five to the left of me on the west side of the buliding in the doom shaped room. Service seemed to be a little slow, but my waitress was respectful and was doing her job well juggling 6-7 other tables of 2+ individuals. I ordered the grilled Calamari (2 out of 5) for starters, the Scallops (5 out of 5) for dinner, and Strawberry Short Cake for dessert (3 out of 5). I would prefer the Calamari to be fried to have a crunch. The short cake had a sourness to it, I wish it had more cream/sweetness to add some smoothness instead of me puckering.

Great place for a celebration
We celebrated a daughter's graduation from college with family. Everything was perfectly prepared. Service from the hostess, to the server to the manager was excellent and first rate. The manager even brought our daughter a rose after learning of the occasion. Portion sizes were perfect and the food is superb. Our party included vegan and other dietary limited diners which were all accommodated without a fuss.

I liked it and so did my boyfriend
We Both loved it so much so that I want to go back for my birthday dinner=) and my boyfriend recommended it to his fellow coworkers. The only problem is they did have really slow service so if you are going to go plan on taking a while plus I had to remind our server that I had ordered some bbq sauce but oh well not a big deal I have been to absolutely worse restaurants. =).

Great Salt Lake City Find
Great new american cuisine located in The Grand America Hotel. The food is superb and the chef came to visit us at our table to make sure everything was to our liking. A great, friendly atmosphere, highly recommend to anyone in Salt Lake.

Friendly staff, delicious food, fun music and a beautiful setting for a Sunday brunch. We met with friends so this brunch was the highlight of our SLC trip and we so appreciate the great atmosphere. We will make Sunday brunch at the garden cafe a staple of our SLC trips from now on.

A great place to celebrate special occasion. Portions aren't large.

Over the top, crazy good Sunday brunch. Outstanding atmosphere, premium items from the seafood to meat to desserts. Nothing missing. Stomach wasn't big enough to try everything. It's what Sunday brunch used to be....

Never knew how good it was!
We've stayed at the Grand America Hotel several times, but for some reason, we've never eaten at the Grand Cafe. We had no idea what we were missing! The food was very, very good -- comparable to the local high-end places we usually dine at, like Ruth's Chris. We'll be sure to come back again, hopefully soon!!

The food was excellent although
The food was excellent although portions were quiet small. A little pricey.
Service on the slow side for a rather quiet (not busy) night.

Did not disappoint
The Garden Cafe has a reputation for fine cuisine. Despite some miscues (eg the signature element of the Heart of Palm salad was the weak link--tasteless, seemingly canned, no delicate nutty sweetness--poor match for persimmon bits and pomegranate seeds and quite mild baby arugula). An extensive wine list: I chanced a grenache--at 2011, a tad too young to fulfill the promise of its nose). A tapioca dessert (great concept, flat execution) and a scotch that never arrived (after a 12min wait I was told "we are out").
The masterful treatment of the featured trout made up for these minor missteps. Brown trout perfectly cooked. Simplicity and technical expertise with a tricky fish (fatty yet easily overdone).
An expensive evening:worth it.

With nearly silent but smiling service that is never in evidence but always at hand, a menu that changes often enough to pique interest, and, a pleasant brunch offered with complete consistency, I am never less than satisfied when having -once again- gone to The Grand America as a go-to place for another business meeting; a quick working lunch; a bit of people watching, or perhaps a simple exhale in a day.
While it's nearly habit to want to try new and different places, The Garden Café keeps pulling one back for yet another visit in which there will be a consistent level of excellence that will do, and, it will do quite nicely.
