I went for a late lunch with two girlfriends and we had a great time - the salads were amazing! Service was a bit slow after 2pm since waitstaff had to take care of the patio as well, but we weren't in a rush so it was ok. Will definitely go for lunch again!

Good for business lunch
Went for a business lunch and it was a good choice. Quiet enough to chat. Good location. Delicious food. It was a little expense for what was served and not a ton of selections. That said each selection seemed quality.

Quality fresh food as usual
Quality fresh food as usual will not disappoint anyone. We dine in all Tom Diuglas restaurant periodically.

Outdoor dining at Couco
Very pleasant and quiet for outdoor dining on a summer's evening. We went on a Sunday evening when they seem to be much less crowded. The service was excellent.

Visited this restaurant many times and it is pretty consistently good. Always have the Capellette but this visit was exceptional. Mushrooms, peas, yummy! Paired it with a nice bottle of Brunello and who could ask for more! Due to the hour, and the day it was pretty quiet but very enjoyable. Go and enjoy!
7/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Service was great and the food was tasty. We had the pasta dishes and we were not disappointed. We will be going back to try a few other pasta dishes.

We each thought our meal was best
Three of us went for a family special occasion and enjoyed the chance to put together an individual and group meal at the same time. Seervice was unobtrusive but thoughtfull. Good wine and value, nice cocktails and starters. Not large meals but satisfing. Usually one of us has the others wishing they had what we had, that was not the case tonight, we each thought our meal was best. Easy to get to and convenient parking, no view.
7/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
I love the anchovy pasta!
Excellent, fast service and the best homemade pasta you'll get in South Lake Union.
7/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Had a nice business lunch there. historic building, and quiet enough to have conversation. Professional staff. Good food.
7/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was a little on the rich side with lots of butter saucing. Would have appreciated move vegie choices.

Went to Cuoco for a birthday dinner, and had a fabulous experience! Everyone ordered a pasta dish as the entree; each was fantastic in a different way - so much more delicate than other pastas. The octopus appetizer was also excellent for those who enjoy it. Will definitely be back in the future. I highly recommend their happy hour as well!
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Love this restaurant.
Had friends from out of town and we took them to Cuoco. The waiter was wonderful but it felt a bit rushed and we were there very early so there was no reason to not let us relax and have a glass of wine. Three out of the four meals were fabulous. Don't order the cauliflower vegetarian entree. It was pretty bland. Will definitely go back. Have loved Cuoco since it first opened and we're big fans of Tom Douglas' s restaurants.

Really lovely restaurant in a wonderful emerging neighborhood.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
As usual Tom Douglas scores big with the tasty morsels put together by his crew. The pasta is a dream and totally worth the carbs. Take advantage of teh great cooking classes offered byt the pasta chef. The Lasagna must have 1000 layers of light fluffy sheets of pasta interspersed with delicious cheese and bolognese sauce. Delicate and substantial! Marvelous, perfect vegetable treatment which as we all know is the true measure of a kitchen's skill. Thank you , Tom and Shelly!

Local ingredients + in house made pasta + roast chicken from Mt Vernon + extensive Italian wine list + the most amazing affagato = Incredible meal!
8/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was awesome! So glad our Seattle friends introduced us to Cuoco.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Some of the best Pasta ever. The cappelletti was melt in your mouth fantastic. Excellent service and great atmosphere on the patio outside.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good food, nice atmosphere
With all Tom Douglas restaurants, the food is very good. The buffalo mozzarella appetizer is wonderful. I always love the spaghetti with anchovies and bread crumbs although there was a heavy hand with the garlic. But one thing that seems to be a problem at all Seattle restaurants is that the waiters take your plates the minute you put your fork down and while other people at the table are still eating. Tom Douglas restaurants have always had adult, professional staff so I was surprised to have that happen at one of his restaurants. That being said, I've been to Cuoco four times and will return.

Rustic Italian & A Touch of Seattle
The affair started as I gleamed through Tom Douglas' Twitter account to see racks of perfectly seared pork, which are then slowly braised in milk to get the restaurant's signature dish - The Agnolotti (Twitter: @CuocoRestaurant, @TomDouglasCo). So, we did just that, a reservation for two and 8 dishes later, completely satisfied, I still wanted more. I miss it, I crave it, I can't wait to have it again. A must-try is the Fried Squash Blossom, edible flowers with a lemony-goodness, which simply melts in your mouth. For dessert, there is a unique combination of vanilla gelato in espresso. They do say not to drink coffee after 4pm in Italy. I guess I am very glad I live in Seattle, where those rules are egregiously ignored for good reason. :-)

Perfect birthday night
We celebrated my husband's birthday here with another couple. We all took turns sharing each other's plates and it was amazing! Everything was fantastic! Our sevice was wonderful and it was a really great evening!

great lunch on the patio
Had a delicious lunch on the patio. Great service. Really appreciated the willingness to do separate checks!

Great Upscale/Casual Dining Spot
I just love how the South Lake Union neighborhood is developing. It has attracted a great number of excellent restaurants and I am happy to say that Cuoco is a terrific example of one. The layout is great. Plenty of seating including an outdoor patio. The food was good and well-priced. The bar was well-stocked and it had an impressive wine menu. The ambiance was dark (perhaps a little too dark for some), but the atmosphere was quiet and intimate. I highly recommend Cuoco to anyone looking for a more upscale (but, still casual) Italian dining experience in Seattle.

First Time Visit
We were looking for a resaurant to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We wanted to try one of Tom's places and opted for the Cuoco. We were very happy with the meals, the service was excellent, and the outdoor dining was most pleasant. The dessert we shared was very good. We would go back to try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Delicious Food, Small Portions
My experience here was extremely positive. All of the food except the pasta--funny enough--was outstanding. Perhaps the pasta was just too rich for my liking; however, we shared a few entrees and no one else seemed to like the dish--Cappelletti filled with fonduta offering little in the way of chanterelles or braised greens--enough to finish it. The charred octopus, however, with little salad was superior. I didn't know I liked octopus! The chicken was tender, moist, and flavorful. Portions were very small, however. Be aware. Service was helpful, accommodating, and informed.
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Wow, this was really great!
I went with a friend and we shared the steak & the pasta stuffed with parmesan fonduta. (can't remember the name). It was so good. Both food and service were really fabulous. I had the doughnuts for dessert and they were awesome, but friend had the cuoco nut cream pie, which was also excellent!
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Tom Douglas does not disappoint
Our fist time to Cuoco! Excellent restaurant on all levels! Best Italian dinner we've had in a very long time. We can't wait to return!
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
laid back yet inviting
Very couchure vibe, friendly staff and they are willing to help out with any plans you may have at tome of dining.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
we took some out of town guests and they liked it. the pasta was very good. I had the pappardelle. we ordered a few appetizers during happy hour. what they say is true -- the serving sizes are pretty small -- esp on the appetizer s-- but the prices are in the reasonable range and the food is quite distinctive. It was fun to watch them make the pasta out front.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Cuoco is the ideal place for dinner on a dark cold night in Seattle. The atmosphere is cozy, romantic and inviting. The food is outstanding - Tom Douglas' signature can be found in every dish. The mixed green salad had a wonderful dressing, the pasta negri was rich and full of flavor. We had the steak and cod as our entrees and they were both impeccably prepared. Looking forward to going back...
10/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
The whole approach to the restaurant and even the vibe inside the restaurant felt more hip and alive than just going to central downtown for lunch. My friend and I both had salads. She chose the caesar with salmon and I had the flat iron steak and arugula salad. They were both delicious, the piece of salmon was noticeably small and I received 4 short slices of the flat iron steak on my salad. The small sized protein portions would be the only small criticism I would give the whole lunch experience. The wait staff was nice and we really enjoyed our lunch, I would meet a friend there for lunch again.
I have been here before with a group for diner, we were able to sit in one of the larger private dining rooms unbelievably DELICIOUS pasta!!!
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a business lunch here
We had a business lunch here and the ambience in this restaurant is very nice. The bread was wonderful and the service was great. I ordered the rigatoni and I thought it was good. My compliant is the lunch menu is very small. I wasn't dying for rigatoni, but there wasn't much to choose from. If their lunch menu was a little more robust, I probably would have rated it higher. I guess I'm used to more choices.
10/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Not hot enough
This restaurant has a great décor and ambience and the food is tasty but all of it seemed to be lukewarm...not quite hot enough. This was the case of the appetizers and main meals. Not sure if they are still working out the kinks in the kitchen or whether food sits around too long before reaching the table.
For the price of the meal, it would not be high on my list for a special occasion dinner as the local Italian restaurant serving handmade, fresh pasta is definitely on par with Cuoco without the prices.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
My husband and I met two friends at Cuoco for our first dining experience at this Tom Douglas establishment. The food was excellent and the service was very good. We enjoyed the ribs as an appetizer but found them a bit unusual for an Italian restaurant. Overall, our evening was delightful, and we plan to return.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
First time there. Really enjoyed
First time there. Really enjoyed it. Great food AND great service in a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely recommend it!
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
I tried this restaurant for the first time for the restaurant week lunch and absolutely loved it. The food was great. I had the winter squash soup which was rich and creamy without being too thick or filling, the true cod which was very flavorful and not fishy, and the grape sorbet, which was refreshing. The ambience was nice, cute restaurant, nice server. Definitely coming back.

Restaurant Wk Mission Accomplished
Love Love Love Seattle Restaurant week. Cuoco has new fan. Excellent lunch, kudos for embracing the notion of exceeding value for dollar for this window in order to draw new customers. Looking forward to returning and exploring the dinner menu.

Best Northern Italian in SLU
I've been to Cuoco 3 times now for lunch. I would describe this as a very good Northern Italian eatery nestled between two buildings on a small courtyard. The interior is open and the bar is very good. I would feel very comfortable bringing lunch visitors, good friends or your date/SO here for a meal. Their menu and specials lists are not huge, but large enough so you'll find something to you liking. If I were to fault them for anything it would be keeping their portions right sized, which is a bit unusual for an Italian restaurant. For example their Lasagna is a a 3"x' 3" square with a plate full of green salad. Still this is better than a huge mass of pasta & cheese. Still well recommended for lunch - I have not tried them for dinner.

Great food but more than 1-hr lunch
First time going to the restaurant with a small group of friends/co-workers. We went during Restaurant week for lunch and the place was busy. The service a little lacking probably because it was busy. All 3 courses from the menu were wonderful, no matter what item you chose. The food was delicious! The true-cod was juicy and the top was crusted perfectly golden brown. The pasta was very tasty and had a signature flavor. The only thing that didn't turn out too well was timing. There was a long delay from the end of appetizer to getting the entree. Being in the booming office area, lunch will take over an hour.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Pretty darn good.
Had lunch during Seattle restaurant week. Appetizers were delicious, had the squash soup with wonderful seasonal flavor. Also ordered the risotto balls - the marinara sauce was just the right bit of tart to go with the balls, plus there was a pleasant surprise with the olive inside. Less impressed with the cod main dish - way over seasoned with salt. And the greens were limp, salted kale leaves, served with a side of tasteless cauliflower puree. The dessert was heavenly. I don't remember the name in Italian, but it was pudding.....a butterscotch pudding that was rich and creamy, with a perfect light flavor that melted on your tongue. We both were tempted to get seconds, that's how good the dessert was.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had the steak & a pasta
It was SO good. My husband even raved about how good the steak was. We also had the Cappelletti, and it was so very tasty!!
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food and atmosphere
Selected this restaurant because of its good reviews on Open Table, and it didn't disappoint. Great food and service.

Girls Night Out
Girls night our for The Best of Seattle Restaurant week 10-20-13. There were 6 of us. First time for all of us to dine at Cuoco.
We will all return with our spouses/friends and recommend to our friends.
The best coconut cream pie ever!
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fresh Homemade Pasta!
Any place that makes their own pasta is usually OK in my book. This place is now on the list. We went during Restaurant Week. Ended up sharing items that were on the regular menu. The pasta with mushrooms, ribs appetizer and meatballs. The meatballs were out of this world. Fresh, perfectly cooked. Definitely going back and putting this place on the 'regulars' list.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Another great Tom Douglas spot
We had a fabulous evening. Our server was attentive, thoughtful, and friendly. The bar manager was also attentive and welcoming.
Every bite of food was well prepared, delicious, and innovative. I know this is all very gushing, but, truly, it was a great foodie experience!

Great dinner in Seattle
Great place to dine in Seattle - best with groups of 6 or more.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
I visited Cuoco for my birthday dinner. I had a delicious grapefruit cocktail - just the right balance of tart and bitter. My boyfriend and I split a whipped ricotta on toast appetizer which was good, but the bread was burned. I still gave the food here 4 stars because I had their lasagna. It was most definitely the best lasagna I've had in a restaurant. We finished off dinner with Italian doughnuts, which came with sides of rum caramel and apple puree. While that was also delicious, there definitely was not enough apple puree to go around for all of the doughnuts. Service was surprisingly slow considering there were plenty of servers and the restaurant was not full. Overall, a pleasant evening with delicious Italian food.
11/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great for a group
We had a fabulous time. There were six of us and each enjoyed the food tremendous. The ambiance is really nice. They have a nice bar, but relatively small and was full. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation. And our waitstafff was excellent.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great evening out!
The wait person was fabulous. For as busy as it was she always checked in at the right time. Made great suggestions and knew her menu. A hot spot for sure. Crowded but we could still sit in a corner table and have a romantic dinner. For sure worth a first time try. Food was really good but not fantastic. If you are looking for good food and nice atmosphere I would say to try it.
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
Nice wine list because there
Nice wine list because there are MANY affordable bottles that go with this great pasta.;
12/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
Went with another couple who we have not seen in awhile. Very relaxing atmosphere which allowed us to catch up. Food was excellent. Two of us ordered the lasagna, one ordered steak and one ordered fish. In addition, we all had a salad. Everyone was very happy with their meals. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We will return.
