Probably the best restaurant in Coronado, as evidenced by how it is always so busy!

Great food, horrible waitress
Great food and drinks, but our waitress was rude and didn't seem smart. Also, I verified ahead of time that we could bring our baby in the stroller. She didn't cry or disrupt anyone but our waitress and the hostess made sure we knew that they thought our daughter was an inconvenience. The salads were boring but the chicken was incredible. The sangria was some of the best I have ever tried. Didn't have dessert since Mootime ice cream was on our walk back to the hotel :)

Food was FANTASTIC. Service
Food was FANTASTIC. Service was rather poor, no one greeted us or brought water for a good 8-10 minutes after being seated and the restaurant was not that busy. Then throughout the night no busser or houseman ever came to our table so we never had waters refilled etc... I am still giving a 4-star review because the food was THAT good!

I love the feel of this this
I love the feel of this this restaurant - casual and comfortable, a place to hang out with friends. Using fresh, local, sustainable ingredients David Spatafore elevates the image of comfort food to a higher level of eclectic sophistication. The Brandt Braised Brisket is outstanding, and, which harkens back to your mom's pot roast. In addition to a great selection of beers, the bar offers drinks from the past too, like a daiquiri, or an old fashion. If your looking for comfort with a twist, you won't be disappointed dining here.

Love Leroys...great place to dine before going o Lamb's Theatre. Food is very tasty, though happy hour is not the best when they only feature a couple of wines.

Went in for a late lunch during the week and it was an awesome experience! We were recommended by a friend the deviled eggs and the truffle grilled cheese. I also had the chicken quinoa salad and the agave vinaigrette was refreshing. I love the local farm to table idea of this restaurant and the participation in the Passport program!

4 of us dined here. 3 of the entrees were delicious. However, one of us had the lamb that was stringy, dry, and over-cooked. The waiter and manager were very apologetic and understanding. They credited our bill for that entree and handled the situation with care and concern. We will return as we have had many delectable meals at this restaurant in the past.

I really loved the food at Leroy's. Our server was fantastic and very patient with us considering the other couple joining us was over 30 minutes late. I had the quinoa fried rice and it was great! Overall, the food was outstanding and we'll definitely go back again!

I believe out servers name was Dave. If not you are more then welcome to check from our reservation on Saturday 5/11 at 10am. He was extremely patient with us as we had two little ones. He offered great recommendations from the menu and even interacted with the kids and had them laughing. He seemed to be genuinely engaged with our overall dining experience. The good was really good however it did take longer then we expected, but well worth the wait. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back and will recommend to others!

So Much Going for LEROY'S
Excellent menu and well-executed dishes, served piping hot, but like so many chefs, waaay too much salt used. Fast and friendly service. We had squash blossom app, pork chop with potatoes and veggies for DH and Mary's brick-baked chicken with farro and veggies for me. Wonderful all around- I can't remember the last time I was served perfect fresh enoki mushrooms - but the salt caught up with the meal later. An excellent "Sweet Heat" cocktail and french press coffee made for a lovely dinner. Too bad we couldn't talk once the competent cover band in the bar started up - the industrial ceiling made their performance too noisy for conversation, unless seated on the busy sidewalk out front behind the speakers.

We love this place!!!
We don't get out to Coronado very often, but when we do, we always go to Leroy's. Their beet salad is amazing, in fact, everything we've had there has been great. They also have a fantastic beer selection. Truth is, Leroy's is a great reason alone to make the trek to Coronado and we will go back soon.

Best place in town
Best food ever. Farm fresh with great combinations of tastes. Always run into locals/friends. Great music nights.

We go to Leroy's a lot. According I didn't check their website when I made the reservation. They were having a special Beer Five Course meal. That was not in my plan as this was a business meeting. Our server, Sarah (and her trainee Mohamad), bent over backwards to make our dinner in the bar area comfortable. We ended up having a fantastic meeting and dinner.
One of the things I like about Leroy's menu is the beet salad. Not many people like beets so you don't see it on menus often. It's delicious. The burgers and trouffle fries are awesome as well. We had a half bottle of Zin that was very good.

Delicious and cozy
Loved the braised brisket and pork chop. Service was great. The only underwhelming part was the sauce with the calamari...tasted like ketchup...but overall loved it and would go back!

Coronado's Hot Spot
Before I go on, I must give resounding kudos to our server, Matt. Not only was he knowledgable and courteous, he looked at each of us while speaking, gave the perfect recommendations, has a great sense of humor AND MOST IMPORTANTLY did not interrupt us when we were talking. Matt should give classes to all wait staff in all restaurants.
Leroy's was packed, as usual, and for good reason: there are tables on the sidewalk and the entire front windows open up allowing the diners inside to have a front row seat, the staff is friendly and helpful and the food is awesome. This was my first time for dinner, but judging from the brunch and lunches, I knew they wouldn't disappoint.

Calamari chirizzo was very interesting; I liked it alot - great with a Sticky Beak Pinot. Swordfish and shrimp/scallops were delicious.

Somewhat disappointed in new chef
We're regular customers of Leroy's. It's our favorite restaurant on the island. This was our first trip since the new chef started. The portions are definitely smaller, but the prices are about the same. I had Mary's Chicken - my favorite dish on the menu. Not any longer. The chicken shrank, and now it is only served with green beans and a few tomatoes. No starch? Two companions had the lamb ragu, and they said it was good albeit spicy. The shrimp and scallops dish was nicely presented, but we miss the shrimp and grists, which was better. As always, the beer list was amazing. We'll go back, but we hope the chef improves his menu selections.

Cheese platter to share began the outstanding meal. Service was sluggish but on point. To be expected in this busy beach town. Highly recommend!

the burgers are beyond anything I have had in the San Diego area, the hostess was very helpfull and friendly , the wait staff was great, fast and caring . This was my 3rd visit in the past 60 days and I would put this on your must visit list when in Coronado.
what could be better than a great burger at Leroy's and Ice Cream at Moo Time next door afterwards ! keep up the great work Leroy

Great dinner with family
The food was excellent and the beer list extensive

Very surprised by the high quality and complexity of the food at this cool lounge restaurant in Coronado! Went there with my husband and two teens and ate every bit of food served to us. The sea bass was excellent and even my choosey thirteen year old loved his meal! He asked for "everything on the side" which they were happy to do. The truffle fries were great as we had heard but we loved everything else too. Unfortunately, we are not drinkers but there was board listing ales and beers they offer as well. Will definitely try to go again!

Love a great recommendation
A friend who lives in Coronado recommended Leroy's while we stayed in town this weekend. Loved his choice! The staff at Leroy's were great, from the minute we hit the hostess stand until we finished. The food was excellent and our server, Melissa, was knowledge and helpful when quizzed on the food and wine menus. Great night - now we would highly recommend.

Fun dining and entertainment
This was a highlight of our stay in Coronado. A great vibe, excellent service, delicious food and drinks. And on top of that, live entertainment. Really enjoyed this restaurant.

on line reservations
The only problem we had was being told since we reserved on line, we would have to sit outside on the busy sidewalk in the blazing sun enclosed by families with small kids waiting in line for Moo Time Ice Cream next door This upset us.. The entire restaurant was empty!! I told the hostess to check her notes as we had specifically made a reservation as to hold a bar table by the window knowing that the dining room is very stuffy and hot in the summer months. The hostess replied that the tables in the bar already had reservations at 7:30 p.m. to which we replied..."So what's the problem? Our reservation is at 5 p.m." She sighed heavily and led us to the one of the bar tables. After being sat, the other tables filled up with walk ins. Hmmmmm..

It was a girl's night out and we never felt rushed. The food and service was wonderful. Social hour prices are excellent!!!

Ya Gotta Share...
When we got the menu we could not make up our minds what to order. There were 4 of us so we simply shared everything we ordered. What a great idea that was. There were so many good items on the menu. We will definitely be back.

Great food - Noisy bar
My wife and I went there for Restaurant Week. We showed up earlier than our reservation, but they were gracious enough to seat us anyway. The place itself is quite nice with open ceilings and a nice feel to it. Our server was very pleasant and knew the menu quite well. The food was delicious; everything from appetizers to main to dessert. They also have a great selection of wines and local micro brews. The only downfall, and this is just a personal pet peeve, is that their bar is in open view to the restaurant and gets quite noisy. It can be a bit daunting to attempt to have a conversation when someone directly behind you is screaming at the TV because their team just did something good or bad.
9/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
my girlfriend I viaited Lero's on restaurant week and were impressed by the selection (7 choices for each course) and the quality of the food. we loved their seafood, pirk chops, and desserts! service was great, and seating outside was ok, except for the lack of adequate cover from the sun. the food was so tasty, I'd risk skin cancer again. all locally sourced ingredients, excellently prepared. one of my favorite places in San Diego!
9/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Wonderful meal. Very inventive chef. All food was prepared to perfection. Good portion sizes for a Restaurant Week promo. Will be back.
9/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
I enjoy rock music but the live band here was poor and very loud - impossible to hear yourself speak. Food was outstanding.

great find in Coronado
We were looking for a new restaurant in Coronado, and saw Leroy's Restaurant Week menu. We were intrigued, and made a reservation for Saturday brunch. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, setting up an inside table when one party member did not want to sit outside (note: if you reserve for a larger party-5-online, you automatically get an outside table).
Food was very good, and portions were a good size but not huge. Everyone (including people who don't like brussel sprouts) loved the grilled sprouts with chili and orange. Short ribs, torta and soft-shelled crab all got a thumbs up. They also have a great draft beer selection.
The vibe is relaxed and busy-works for large parties, kids etc.

Great Restaurant Week Experience
While some restaurants create "special" Restaurant Week menus and others falter with their normal menus, that was not the case at Leroy's. We had our best meal ever at Leroy's (and we've eaten at Leroy's at least a dozen times). The calamari and tomato salad appetizers were just the right size. The tomatoes were ripe and the ricotta was creamy. For entrees, we had the bistro steak (very large) and the pork chop (also very large and cooked a perfect medium). We would order both again. For dessert, we shared the smores in a jar and the peach crisp. The ice cream on both (from Moo Time?) was delicious. When friends ask us what our favorite restaurant in Coronado is, we never hesitate: Leroy's.

Yummy food but loud music
The food was excellent. We definitely got more than our money's worth. The service was great - very attentive but not overly so. The only drawback was the local band playing - they were pretty good and we liked the music - but it was really, really loud! Definitely not a place for a romantic dinner!

Chose to go to Leroy's for
Chose to go to Leroy's for restaurant week and did regret the choice. The food and service was excellent. Got greeted by the beautiful hostess and even though I reserved for 1, I brought my niece and they were able to accommodate her. This being my first time here, the waitress was very knowledgeable with the menu. Made everything sound real good. Went with Poke Tacos and the pork chop, which were unbelievable. Their drink menu is unique, yet really tasty. I would come here again and bring some friends along.

The true hidden gem of Coronado
In a Meat & Potatoes community, (I grew up here so can attest to it),
Leroy's offers the first Bistro style, farm to table menu at very reasonable
Prices. Chef Colon has his eye on creating a fresh menu that appeals to diners seeking
a unique experience with diversity in tastes. Everything on the menu looked as well as it read.
Craft beers, interesting wine list, just pure cooking. Easily up to par with 1500 at
the Del, but much more inviting. Try Leroy's

Great spot in Coronado Island to have lunch. Wonderful food! Fun feel to the place. Such a nice waiter.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a wonderful experience dining at Leroy's. The ambiance is great. It's open, yet cozy and intimate and does have a farm kitchen feel. We shared the Bavarian pretzel with beer and smoked cheddar fondue as an appetizer and our entrées were the mushroom and chevre ravioli and Leroy's burger. We were both very pleased with our meals. We didn't spend any time at the bar, but it looked inviting and I want to go back to try some of their drinks and menu items they call Bites and Shares. It's a great place.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Last year Leroy's was my favorite spot to go to after work, but their menu was very small and always the same. Now, however, the menu is amazing! They had a special pairing menu for beer week which was nice. Their craft beer list is very impressive. Food was amazing. I had the prosciutto wrapped pork chop with fig Demi. Amazing. My plate was practically licked clean. My aunt had the scallops. Also really really tasty. I appreciate a place that is true to the local scene, as Leroy's is. Our waitress was new so she wasn't the best, but she wasn't bad either. I'm very impressed with the new menu here at Leroy's.

Great for having a beer to dinner
I frequent Leroy's because it's a fantastic restaurant in the neighborhood and I happen to live within walking distance. My husband and I love the variety of beers as well as the incredible food for brunch, lunch and dinner.
As for our dishes that night, we we very impressed. My husband said he had the best fried chicken of his life (the chef's special) while I had ravioli with mushrooms in a delectable sauce. We were too full to grab dessert, so we will return for just that sometime soon. My favorite spot there is at a far table next to the open window so I can look out onto Orange Avenue to watch the people bustle about.
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
what a great treat! we caught 'no corkage' Monday and had brought a special bottle, but they were also offering $10 off per bottle on a great and reasonable wine list. the ricotta gnocchi with oxtail sauce is an absolute must ... and do have an earthy, well balanced wine to pair! fabulous gem in coronado (and, yes, the Brussels are great, too!)
