Popularity has not been good..
...For us oldtimers. Used to feel intimate. Food tastes like assembly-line cooking. Good but lost spice. Love the wait staff though!

We had a terrific meal at Cafe Ronda. My daughter is a vegetarian so we had an all-veg meal. (I intend to return to try the grilled meats and non-veg paellas, which looked and smelled great.) Shared three tapas (fried artichokes with aioli, patatas bravas, and some simple but very flavorful fried hot peppers) and a vegetarian paella. For dessert my daughter ordered a vanilla-almond cream tart that was delicious. Wine list is very short but well chosen to match the food; sherries are featured and explained.(We had the amontillado with our tapas, and a glass of albarin~o with the paella.) The service was attentive and very friendly. This was a pre-opera dinner and service was prompt without feeling at all rushed. I'll be back!

Great food, excellent service, friendly staff, excellent wine. Didn't rush us and every morsel from beginning to dessert was heaven. A lovely dinner.

Small gem in the city recommended by a friend for dinner before a Broadway show. Reasonably priced, perfect ambiance and everything we ordered was amazing! Tapas, drinks, and dessert!

Stellar service, great skirt steak
We love cafe Ronda. Typically we go for brunch. Healthy baked eggs - yum. This time we went for skirt steak which was very good. Hostess was super accommodating (we have a newborn), service is always very good. From bus boy to waitress. Recommend.

Paella was great
Tapas were okay ( there was one shrimp dish that was overcooked) but the paella was the real star. delicious. my only complaint was that there were only 3 pieces of anduille sausage. The serving for 2 was big enough for 4 people. Server was nice and attentive. The hostess was ridiculously nice and very welcoming!

Tapas on the Upper Westside
Café Ronda is a small, energetic restaurant with delicious tapas and excellent service. Portions are generous and very well prepared.

Fantastic Tapas, Fantastic Food!
I arranged my birthday party here on Tuesday night. The staff was extremely accommodating with frequent changes in the size of the group up until the actual event. Food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic! I had the most wonderful birthday here.

UWS Pre-Beacon Find
We picked this place because of the proximity to the Beacon Theater...it was the perfect choice...lots of yummy tapas plates-served with an efficient wait staff. We were fortunate that it was still nice enough on this October night to sit outside! Only disappointment was that the Paella we wanted to order would have taken too long...which means it wasn't sitting in a large pot waiting to be served-so it is probably very good and we will definitely have to try it next time!!!

A taste of Spain just South of the Museum of Natural History. The Tapas are delectable, the wine and sherries: varied and delicious. A fun, romantic spot that we will return to again, amd again.

I love this place
I've been here several times and it never disappoints. It's not too far from the express trains on the upper west side so it's a convenient place to meet. The food is delicious and there are often great specials. My waiters always give great recommendations and you can tell they aren't just trying to push the most expensive item. There's lots of choices for waine by the glass and the cocktails are good too.

Excellent pre-opera dinner!
My daughter and I ate here before a 7 pm opera., so it was quite a bit earlier than usual. We arrived about 15 mins before our 5 pm reserved time, kitchen wasn't open yet but staff was welcoming and accommodating. Started out with some dry sherries (one manzanilla and one fino) and a couple of tapas. The marinated Spanish olives were to die for, the fried artichoke hearts crispy and just salty enough. The "fugazetta", an Argentinean empanada with onions and cheese, were absolutely delicious. I had a skirt steak which was cooked to perfection (rare), and the house chimichurri was an excellent condiment. Wine list is small but well chosen. This is our second experience here, and I am looking forward to going back!
