Heavenly Osso Bucco
Absolutely wonderful artisanal cuisine. The Buffalo mozzerella in their Caprese salad was so delicate and fluffy it almost floated. For early season tomatoes they were wonderful and ripe. The balsamic dressing was very well balanced and robust.
The Osso Bucco was to die for. I wish I could make the creamy polenta and the sauce that the perfect veal shank was paired with.
Their take on amatriciana is really different and clever and you must eat all the sauce with their very nice crusty bread.

Terramia tutto bene
This is one of the best (out of several) Italian restaraunts in the North End. You will never go wrong eating here.

Fist time and loved it
First time at Terramia. We had a group of 6 and had a fantastic table in the front window. Quaint and classy décor. The food was excellent. Seasonal favorite appetizer of fried zucchini blossoms. Arancini was a good choice too. Everyone had a different dish The Branzino, was excellent. Homemade pasta we excellent, particularly the Bombolotti Amatriciana. Service was prompt but not overbearing. 2 in our group were late and the restaurant staff was very accommodating. Would definitely say this is on my top 5 list for the North End.

Terramia continues to be stellar
We discovered TerraMia by walking the North End of Boston reading menus. As such, Terramia is a true gift to foodies. We travel to Boston frequently and always make sure to eat at least one dinner there. For us, this is a two hour drive and a stay over and worth every bit of the effort. I have never had a bad or disappointing meal. The waiters are attentive and polite. As far as food goes, I generally gravitate to fish of some kind; something I normally do not have time to prepare at home. The appetizer, a pureed bean spread with olive oil, reminds me a bit of humus but so much better. A study in simple preparation.
My wife and I will be back. Again, and again.

Our first time at this restaurant, celebrating Father's Day. The food was excellent.

Lives Up To The Ratings!
This little restaurant has been rated as the best in Boston; it truly earns that accolade!. The food was superb and the ambiance and service were incomparable. The only slight quibble was that the A/C was more than enough for the cubic footage it was cooling; long sleeves or a sweater might be advisable on warm evenings. Nonetheless, the evening and meal were sublime and we will be back soon and often.

Another outstanding meal
Our waiter, Gabriele, is a delight. We enjoyed both the arancini and lobster fritters appetizers. Generous chunks of lobster meat inside the fritters!
My friend loved her sausage-risotto, the special of the evening. I ordered the Bombolotti Amatriciana which was excellent...just enough spice and the sauce not too heavy. (after eating both of the delicious appetizers)!
I can always feel confident that I'll have a scrumptious meal when I dine at Terramia!!

Able to offer gluten free pasta
Really nice to meet an ex-Londoner on our first night in Boston really helpful advice on the menu and tipping! Food was a little salty for me but otherwise really beautifully cooked and plenty to eat.

Limited Menu, Great Food!
While the menu is small, what they do they do very well! Attentive and personable service, Terramia is a great find.

High-quality without frills
Delicious food is definitely their game. We were pleased with the interesting takes on classics, and the food was VERY well executed. The zucchini appetizer was the lowlight, although it still had an interesting flavor profile. Too deep-fried for my tastes without enough zucchini in it. The risotto of the day was perfectly done, with asparagus, portobello, eggplant and baby basil on top. Ah and the white truffle flavor! Perfection. My fiance had the rib ravioli - the demi glace on it was the highlight, and the taste was quite nice of the ravioli themselves as well! The pancetta in the dish stood out texture-wise a bit (in a weird way) but the taste was perfect. Pair it all with an affordable wine list, and we left very happy with our meal!

expensive but nice
There were 4 of us. We shared the Fiori Di Zucca , and the traditional antipasto . The entrees we had were the Spaghetti Alla Chitarra Con Gamberi E Aragosta , Lasagne Verdi Alla Bolognese , Involtini Di Vitello , Pollo Al Mattone Speziato . Everyone enjoyed their choice so very much that only one of us had anything left to doggy bag.
The wine was Chianti Classico Riserva “Colie Lungo” (Toscana)
which was also very good.
Next time I will ask the price of the "MKT" items before I order. I felt the traditional antipasto was kind of pricey for what it was.
It was nearly 100 deg at 7PM when we got there, but it was very comfortable inside.
We will definitely go back again.

Fine italian dining
Food very good. Wine selection by the glass not great.

Always Have a Great Time at Terrami
This has become our go-to spot in the North End. We've tried other places but they just cannot compare to the ambiance and food that Terramia offers. Although small and somewhat cramped inside, the food is incredible with a very good wine selection. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. I would go more often if I could afford it. The wait staff is awesome as always. Gabriel and Jaime are always very knowledgeable and have great attitudes.

One of best tasting meals
My wife and I both truly enjoyed the meal. fanatstic tasty and unique dishes. As with most North End dining establishments the tables were on top of each otehr and very crowded, but that is the ambience. A great menu but the quality of food and its lasting impact on taste buds will not be forgotten

WE HAVE BEEN COMING TO TERRAMIA SINCE BEFORE OUR 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY (THAT'S 15 PLUS YEARS AGO!) IT CONTINUES TO BE OUR SPOT OF CHOICE FOR A NORTH END EXPERIENCE. WE'VE NEVER HAD BETTER MEALS ANYWHERE AND THAT'S ONLY HALF THE STORY! GABRIELL - OUR WAITER OF CHOICE HAS PAMPERED AND SERVED US MANY TIMES AND HAS ALWAYS PROVIDED A NIGHT OF EXTRAORDINARY HOSPITALITY AND OUTSTANDING SERVICE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO CHERISH OUR TRIPS TO TERRAMIA AND HAVE RECOMMENDED IT TO MANY! KATHY AND JIM CONNELL

The Wait (w/reservation) worth it
We dined on a Friday evening ( had an 8pm reservation) yet were not seated until 8:45pm. There was a huge crowd of hungry people waiting outside for their tables; this is understandable since the restaurant is very small with 14 total tables. Once you're in it is a lovely experience. Extensive wine selection (and beer, but there is no hard liquor), brilliant chef, sizable portions, nice presentation; authentically Italian! I would definitely and will certainly return.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food and services were great, however it was very small and tight place, and was loud too, not romantic .
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Authentic North End Italian
Veal, ravioli, lobster spaghetti, and halibut special all very tasty. 4 of us had the front right table by the window for birthday dinner with good light and feel for North End. Brought two kids (11 and 14) who loved it as well. Great Tiramasu!!

One of North End's Best
This is our 2nd time visiting Boston and our 2nd time eating at Terramia. We had to come back and it didn't disappoint. Burratta salad with fig and prosciutto-perfect, veal chop delicious. We are from the San Francisco Bay Atea where there are many great Italian restaurants. Terramia would be among those. We'll be back!
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good Food, only so-so value
The food quality was above average for the touristy North End. That said, the $38 3-course rest. wk menu had small portions-not good value. Better to order an app. & entree off the reg. menu @ same amount or less. Ex: Osso Buco pork on the rest wk menu was 25-30% of the $23 version on the reg menu served next to us. Dining room is compact-close quarters all around. Not a place for elegant, relaxed dining. You're in and out in 75-90 minutes on a weekend night, especially in the summer, but the food quality, preparation and flavors were definitely a couple of steps above most North End restaurants. Oh.The owner/manager needs to tell the otherwise attractive and helpful hostess to stop the conspicuous, non-stop gum chewing.

Quaint and delicious
We wandered over there on a Monday night. Small, intimate and cozy dining room. Simple menu, but every dish was delicious!

We were completely satisfied
We were completely satisfied in choosing Terramia for our Labor Day celebration.. The restaurant is small, with about 13 tables but felt like we had a lot of space around us. It was reasonably quiet. The view of Salem St was nice to see from the window. Our server was very pleasant. When we asked for our check it came promptly, We will return again to try more dishes on their menu,
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
I've spied this restaurant every time we've been to Boston, but have never gone because we've always had the kids with us, and it just didn't look like a restaurant for kids. This time, no kids! So we went. It was worth the wait! Everything we ordered was delicious; the salads, the entrees, everything. And everyone was pleased with their selections. We were very impressed not only with the service, but with the restaurant's ability to keep the proper pace of the meal. We weren't rushed, nor did we wait too long for our meals to be served. Excellent wine list as well. Our server helped with our selection of wines, and he was right on the money! Can't wait to return to Boston, just to have dinner at Terramia!

Our third time here, this is an excellent "non touristy" North End gem.Service is wonderful; Atmosphere is cozy.
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Not your run of the mill Italian restaurant. The dishes are well thought out with very unique flavor combinations. Everything was excellent. They don't serve dessert so be prepared to walk a couple blocks for fabulous pastries.

What a great treat! Terramia
What a great treat! Terramia is small but wonderful. The food was outstanding as was the service. I can't wait to go there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Terramia. The service was outstanding, especially considering that it was a Sunday evening and not much of a crowd was expected, but the restaurant was full. One waiter with the assist of a busboy handled the crowd quite well. The food, wich included osso bucco and a free-form lasagna noodle with scallops and shrimp in a tomato cream sauce was outstanding. We will definitely return to Terramia!

Best gnocci I ever had
Everything we ordered was fantastic. Best gnocci I ever had, fluffy little clouds, flavorful sauce, and meatballs that had a great grilled, smoked flavor that accented the dish perfectly.
Butternut squash ravioli was the perfect mix of sweet and savory flavors. Wonderful. Beet salad was delicious, even though I don't like beets. The bread pudding for dessert was perfectly constructed. Often bread pudding is unbalanced, with bites of pure egg followed by bites of flavorless bread. Not this one. Every single bit of this bread pudding was exquisite.
Great location in a quaint North End Italian neighborhood. Romantic. I will be returning here every time I come back to Boston. No doubt about it.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food is amazing every time we go. Wish the place was larger so we could bring a bigger group. The salads and pasta dishes were similar to that of Florence Italy. Hostess went out of her way to make us feel welcome and waiter was excellent.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Tiny but delicious
Terramia is a little gem in North Boston. It was recommended to us by a friend who visits Boston often and we were not disappointed. From the wine list to the antipasto to desert, the food is made from scratch and worth the wait, if you did not make a reservation. (I suggest you do if you are a party of more than 2) Although it is tiny, and you are likely to share a table with another couple, don't pass this one up.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had been going for years
I have been going to this place for 10 years...my destination in the North End. Just as good as the first time.

Great food but too crowded & noisy
You just need to know if you are looking for a quiet, intimate meal with fantastic food, you won't get quiet and intimate.

Our meal was fantastic! Great food, great service and a good wine list!

Not just about red sauce
We were a family group, grandparents, parents and two early teens. All of us have traveled in Italy. One of the kids has a number of food allergies, and the servers were very understanding. The adults had a variety of dishes...gnocchi, sea bass, etc. And the kids enjoyed a pasta made specially for them. Good wine, good menu, friendly atmosphere in the heart of the North End.

Pre Celtics Dinner
We had a wonderful meal prior to the Celtics game Monday night. Terramia is our favorite restaurant in the North End and has been for over 15 years. We have never had a bad meal there and have recommended it to many friends, all of whom have come away with the same results.
11/10/2013 4:00:00 PM
The food was perfect. Our server was excellent and knowledgable. Not much more needs to be said. After only two visits, Terramia has become my "must visit" restuarant for Boston.
