Happy to go back here!
Everything was great, definitely good to go with at least 4 people so you can get the tapas and still have room to enjoy a Paella- which was huge and delicious.

The tapas were so delicious
The tapas were so delicious that we just feasted on those and never ordered paella! The eggplant and the pork belly were fantastic, and all the others we tried - including garlic shrimps, mushroom croquettes, Catalan sausage and Spanish hams - were very good. Very friendly service in charming (if tight) quarters with a small but lively bar.

Very good restaurant! Food
Very good restaurant! Food is excellent and the servers make great recommendations. However, the restaurant is very small. My BF and I were sat at a communal table. Now, I'm not too opposed to communal tables, but I do prefer having our separate seating. BUT, they crammed the communal table so tightly that it was very intrusive and awkward. You were almost touching both people on either side of you and there was not enough space at all. I was very displeased by that. Once one party got up and left, we were able to spread out a little and felt more comfortable. I'm not sure if you can request a private table or not, but I would def try and ask. All in all, the food makes up for a lot of it!

We absolutely loved Socarrat.
We absolutely loved Socarrat. We are fans of paella and chose this restaurant to celebrate my sisters 21st birthday. The ambience was great. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and the music and lighting made you feel like you were possibly in Spain. Our server was impeccable. He was hilarious, welcoming & gave great recommendations for the entrees as we had never ate there before. The food was also mesmerizing. The presentation was beautiful & the meal was authentic & delicious. I would highly recommend the paella carne. We will definitely come back here.

would have given food 4 stars, but kitchen seemed adverse to seasoning. we ordered every tapa and had to put salt on all but the ham.

Tapas and Paella
We went to this bustling tapas and paella place in Nolita after a play. Seated immediately. Tabled are pretty tight, but try for a window seat if available. Enjoyed the squid ink paella, although the seafood on top added little to the calamari already in the rice (fava beans were a nice touch). Good Spanish wine list. Great cappuccino to end the meal.

Excellent wine selections
Excellent wine selections fom Spain. Recommendations were spot on. Food was fresh and flavorful. The paellas are spectacularly good. Reasonable options or vegetarians as well.

I've been to Socarrat Nolita
I've been to Socarrat Nolita a number of times and every time the service is attentive and friendly, and more importantly the food is consistently good. It's a great place for groups with a fun atmosphere and the paellas are excellent. The crispy rice on the bottom of the pan is the best part!

Socarrat is one of our favorite
Socarrat is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. We generally find the food in the Chelsea Reastaurant better and the ambience and neighborhood feel is superior there, but the Nolita location is coming along in these ways. Another great experience,

Although it's a bit cramped, had a party of 6 here on a Friday night. My only 2 complaints are that it was really warm inside the restaurant and that the table was a little cramped for everyone's legs. Otherwise it was amazing, great food, and friendly service.

a bit cramped
The service was excellent the Paella was good, but I guess I expected better...sangria great...tapas were good too...space is a bit tiny, so when the two paella's arrived for the 4 of us...they were a bit too big for the table....also too dark..I don't like certain kinds of seafood..so it was hard to pick it out...thank God I have a flashlight app on my cell phone!

Bring a group of friends
BUT don't expect to be able to have an intimate conversation ... its a VERY lively crowd and the perfect place to eat and drink and have a great time. The paella was delicious to say the least

If you love Tapas and Paella
I went to Socarrat with a party of eight. I had been the several times before. It was as good as ever. Delicious tapas...especially the fried artichokes. We ordered three differentvpaellas andtheybwere all great. Our waiter gave usntowmorders of churros on the house. Itbwas a delightful evening and Ineven went home with leftovers which I just ate.

I like the restaurant overall. The service was good, attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic. The downside was how cramped together the tables were. I will go back for the food.

This place is a cute little gem and I will come back sometime in the future. To be honest, the food wasnt anything special, but the drinks were good and I really enjoyed the vibe and scene. Tapas were our favorite; the chocolate churros were sadly lacking, though.

Food is all good
Overall I was pretty much satisfied.
Food was all good but the tapas were so small and pricey.
We went around 6:30, and the restaurant was nice and quiet.

The paella here is great,
The paella here is great, I studied abroad in Spain years ago and love to reunite with my friends here to enjoy delicious tapas, pitchers of sangria and reminisce about our past adventures and catch up on life. I recommend this place, even if our waitress was not very friendly last time we were there, don't think that would stop us from going back. Though pricier than what we'd ever pay in Spain, we always leave content, happy with the food, company, and a few glasses if sangria, can't wait to go back!

Cozy delicious birthday dinner
We sat in the open window, food was excellent - we had the paella special which featured a whole lobster (split up) shrimp and cuttlefish.
We paired this with a pitcher of sangria.
A little noisy for my preference. And the seating slightly cramped, but I took that as a sign of a great restaurant.
Overall excellent and I would love to go again.

Definitely A Revisit
This place has a great ambiance. The food is delicious and plentiful. I would recommend this for dates, groups and anyone looking for a different experience.

Paella or Fideua
We had the fideua and it was amazing! The ambiance made for a very nice romantic dinner.

It's great. I've eaten and made paella all my life. This is the best I have had in a restaurant in New York by a long shot.
Some of the reviews say to eat the squid ink paella, it's fine but I vastly preferred the standard / saffron version. We ate the pealla named after the restaurant "Soccorat".

My husband and I had just come in on a bus from Boston and had a late reservation for dinner at Socarrat. We were seated in a great little corner booth and had a great time people watching and eating. Also my husband does not like traditional paella and they have converted him with their carne paella. Awesome!

Brunch or Lunch
Great for brunch or lunch if you are looking for a place where you can talk and take your time. The service is attentive, the food good, the atmosphere friendly and authentic (there was a whole Spanish family at the next table, they seemed to enjoy the food as much as we did).

We enjoyed the food and the
We enjoyed the food and the drinks but we felt that we were being pressured to leave. Waiters came three times to ask if we want to wrap the food, of course I got the message they wanted us to expedite our eating so that they can offer the table to another guests. In the end another person came with intention to let us know that we needed to leave and I got the message right away, so to avoid a bad scene. I just asked her for the check. At this point we were not even finnish drinking our digestive. We were there for about 3 hours and 15 minutes but we spent over $400.00 including the tip for a full course meals! We were only three because one guest did not make it. I think we deserve to be there until we feel that we were ready to go.

Amazing fried artichoke tapa! The Socarrat paella is to die for!

Best Paella in town
Also, the black squid ink is best paella I have ever had anywhere!

What you'd expect
I went with a friend on a cold Tuesday night for the first time. We ordered the fried artichokes, jamon croquettes, and the signature Socarrat paella, all of which were very tasty. The fried artichokes also had a few pieces of fried kale included, which was a nice surprise. Atmosphere was very quiet and romantic, but since we were there on the early side and the weather was awful, I think it was unusually empty. Only complaint would be that it took forever to get the check, even though the place was not busy. I would definitely go back, and would recommend for a date or a small group (4-6 people).

Paella was very expensive...
Paella was very expensive... we were not aware the price was per person and orders were a minimum of two people. therefore, we ordered WAY too much food. The noise level was also REALLY loud. Usually I don't complain about that but it was a very small restaurant so it was distracting. Other than that food was good and service was excellent. Waitress should have given us a heads up on the paella though.

This is one of my top 3 personal favs in the city...just go and let your palette decide!
