Wonderful night at Pier Market
This is my third visit in one year. I had 8 people total from Fresno and we had a great meal. I tried your stuffed trout and it unfortunately was a "B". The stuffing was just too much bread and the trout was the the thinnest one I have ever eaten. I felt like all I got was bread stuffing. It may be that is what happens with a thin fish but I would have liked it better without the stuffing. My choice though. Usually I get the salmon burger which I adore. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. Liana was her name, I think. I used open table and that worked great.

We love this place!
We love coming to this restaurant everytime we visit San Francisco! This was our 3rd visit. The clam chowder is very yummy! We always have a table with a great view of the water and Golden Gate Bridge. The staff is very friendly and accomodating.

Nice bar and friendly bar tender. Was not hurried through our dinner but felt welcome to take our time. Had a nice table by the window.
Clean. Good service

Really enjoyed the meal!
Really enjoyed the meal! Steamed clams and clam chowder were amazing. Had the Ono special which was great. My dining mate also enjyed the halibut (which looked really good but he wouldn't give me a bite!)

Surprised my wife on her 50th birthday with a trip to San Francisco (We're from Chicago). Picked Pier 39 Seafood market based on internet reviews and location. We weren't let down - the service was quick and very friendly, the food was delicious and the views were wondeful. I got a whole bunch of brownie points for this trip. After dinner we went to view the sea lions, which were right outside the restaurant - what a special night for my wife. Thanks Pier 39!

Favorite Pier 39 Eatery
This is the best place on the pier to eat, the fish is always fresh, well seasoned and the combinations are always amazing. The Salmon, Shrimp, crab special is my favorite. Anyone who comes in from out of town is treated to Pier Market.

Pier Market - great for chowder
not tourist trap although located conveniently on Pier #39
rated one of the top for clam chowder in SF and did not disappoint with bread bowl as popular option; chowder was chock full of clams
worthy of visit

Great Place to Bring Friends
My wife and I had been there before and though it would be a good place to meet some of her high school classmates that were visiting from Texas. It was a great place to meet and have dinner. Service was great and the food very good. We stayed and talked until almost closing. Made for some great memories.

We were being tourists and were dying for fresh San Francisco seafood. This place was right on the pier, with a great view of the water. My boyfriend and I came for lunch and ordered about 6 peoples worth. We just wanted to try everything, and it was all great. What stood out the most though was the service. Our server was extremely personable, gave us pointers on where to go and what to see, the manager brought me a new drink because the soda machine was broken (I didn't even taste anything wrong with my soda). And it was probably the best clam chowder in bread bowl of my life :)

We were only in town for a day and had a tight schedule so we just had to go to a restaurant that had a reservation for our time. We lucked out by finding Pier Market Seafood! The shrimp was so fresh and well prepared, it practically melted in my mouth! We had a window seat, but most seats have a view of the boats as part of the restaurant is stepped up.

I was disappointed about the wine list, but the fish was great.

We had the crab
Our server, Michael, was outstanding and made it a great experience. We had just finished a sailing trip around the bay and went for a late dinner. Being from Wyoming, we asked the server to recommend a great dish. He suggested the steamed dungeness crab, and it did not dissapoint. We had a great dining experience overlooking the water. The service was great and the food was wonderful. We would come back here again.

We loved this restaurant. We in fact went twice in two days! The clam chowder is wonderful and they sell it so you can take some home. The sour dough bread was terrific. Seafood we had was tasty. Had a great view of the harbor and could see the Golden Gate Bridge on both visits. Also, we had good service on both occasions. We would recommend checking out this restaurant while in the area.

Good choice for a tourist spot
We reserved at this reastaurant, really, as we were a party of six on a busy Friday night and were unable to get into our favorites. However, we all enjoyed our meals, service was excellent and we would go there again. The place does not have as good a view as some of the other Wharf places, but after the sun set it didn't matter anyway. The wine list is small but with a nice variety. The clam chowder was excellent, full of clams, not too thick.and seasoned well. Sour dough bread was great as was my entree- seafood penne, a little short on mussels, but full of fish, clams and shrimp. No complaints from anyone. Good dinners all around

Perfect for our visit to Pier 39
We arrived about 45 early for our reservation and were told it would be about 10-15 minute wait. I thought that was great as the restaurant was busy and we were very early. We sat at the bar and were immediately asked if we would like to see there wine and beer list. The bartender was just wonderful. Our drinks had barely arrived and our buzzer went off that our table was ready. I started to pay the bill and the manager said they would transfer it to our table bill (w/o even asking). Awesome! The food and service was exactly as it was represented on Tripadvisor by others. My wife had the Swordfish and I had the Shrimp Combo. Both meals were outstanding. I highly recommend the Pier 39 Seafood Market, if you only have one dinner to eat in SF.

Food was great, portions were plentiful and the service was fabulous. The people in our group were from the East Coast to the West Coast and everyone loved what they ordered.

Great food, great service!
Went here with out-of-town friends we had not seen for a long time. Chose Pier Market because of broad menu in case someone in our group didn't like seafood. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and service was excellent! It was very open and loud, so probably not the best place for a romantic dinner. It met my expectations and I was not disappointed by the experience. Seafood was fresh, tasty and hot and we did not wait long for our food even though the restaurant was full!
