Best lunch buffet in Washington DC
They have a weekday buffet that is the best buffet I've ever had; and I've been to most of the DMV restaurants. It was so good we got half of our office to go back for lunch the very next day.

Not a bad place for Indian
Not a bad place for Indian buffet for lunch. Go there if nearby, but not a place that you should go out of your way to try. Dinner menu can get very expensive very quickly.

Enjoyed the meal and the menu
Enjoyed the meal and the menu had a few different dishes not always found in standard indian restaurant fare which we enjoyed.

Got an Open Table reservation
Got an Open Table reservation for 8pm on a Saturday, which was not necessary. It wasn't empty, but there were certainly plenty of tables available. We started with the vegetable samosa and the aloo tikki chaat, both were great, but the vegetable samosa is definitely an order I'd get again. We ordered the lamb vindaloo and masala pepper gosht with the spinach naan. Both lamb dishes were good, but I've certainly had better naan. Paired with Australian Shiraz, it was a great meal.

Quality food and service
Originally i jad hoped to go to another popular indian restaurant but could not get a reservation. i am glad i had to look for an alternatove and found this restaurant.it had excellent food and service. The waiter made valuable suggestions. While the prices were a bit higher than I have found at some other Indian restaurants, the food was worth the price. I look forward to returning.

My friends and I came here
My friends and I came here to have dinner and catch up after not seeing each other for a long time. It was the perfect atmosphere to be able to enjoy delicious food and be able to talk. We didn't feel rushed at all and our waitress was really nice, personable and took great care of us. The food was really great, we all enjoyed our selections. We all had the vegetarian and vegan meals, so I can only speak to those. There were also happy hour specials that we could take advantage of at our table. I'd recommend this place for anyone who wants a delicious dinner somewhere quiet enough to hear each other. I will be back again!

We needed a good place for a diverse Group that included Vegans and close to downtown AND DuPont Circle area. Rasoi worked perfectly and the food was delicious. Service was excellent!

Great place, great food, great
Great place, great food, great service. Our server was attentive and friendly and the food was great. I would definitely recommend Rasoi to others. We went on a Sunday night and it was fairly empty when we got there but soon after 3-4 other groups of people showed up. You would have thought we were the only people in the place though as the service didn't change and stayed top notch. Excellent food as well.

The food was great. Try it. I did the three courses for $25 and they're signature chicken dish was excellent. My wife had a lamb dish which was also fantastic.

I can't say enough about this
I can't say enough about this place! My favorite Indian restaurant is a little place in Kenmore Square (Boston) and food at Rasoi was just as good plus the atmosphere was much more pleasant! The service was attentative without being intrusive and very friendly. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

We had such a lovely time
We had such a lovely time at Rasoi! We loved our waiter, very attentive and thoughtful service. I had the matar paneer, one of my comfort foods, and my husband had the lamb vindaloo. Both were on the spicy side, which I expected from the vindaloo but not from the paneer. Both were delicious. The vindaloo was a rich, red color and the lamb was very tender. Our server even brought us a Punjabi curry that he thought we'd like and a samosa, for free! All very very tasty. This is a gem in an otherwise bland food neighborhood!

Tastey with good service
Very similar to Rasikas in selection and taste. We needed a place close to DAR Constitution Hall and this was a quick walk.

Authentic and Delicious
I enjoyed my dinner at Rasoi, and I am still dreaming of the galic naan. I visited the restaurant with a friend of mine, who is Indian, and he was so pleased with the food and Indian music playing that he hummed at times through dinner! Rasoi has wonderful vegan/vegetarian menu selections. We had the chaat papri, achari bhindi, nawabik kofta curry, and they were all delicious. I will definitely visit Rasoi again.

After reading some of the other reviews I was worried that the staff would be quite rude and neglectful. I was pleasantly surprised to find that everyone was quite nice and helpful, albeit a little slow.
The food was very good. The menu has a variety of typical Indian cusine as well as more unique items. Will definitely return again to try some of the more unique dishes.

The lunch buffet is worth every penny. I ate enough for a day's worth of meals, and every dish was fantastic.

The staff at Rasoi were both friendly and attentive to our group of five. What will bring me back is the very polite waiter who reminded me on my way out the door that my laptop case was still in the corner. Thanks again!

on a clm
Rasoi welcomed our group of 9 for dinner on a Tuesday evening. They had our table ready and we received great service. All the food came out around the same time and every dish was still warm. Though they have a policy against splitting the bill, they allowed each of us to pay a portion and even calculated the tax and gratuity for us individually. We had a great time and will be back soon!

complex and flavorful food
not your usual indian food - that is, the flavors were complex and unique, not just the usual one-note spice.

Delicious Indian right on K St
Rasoi has become an old standby for me. If I'm hungry after work, it's my go to place even without a reservation. The choices are great and from all regions of India. The appetizers are the best I've had and the naan's are outstanding. You have to try the spinach naan. To start, they make the best lassi's I've had in the area--just the right consistency and taste. I can't wait to go back.

I love Rasoi
The lunch buffet is always wonderful and has a nice variety of dishes to try. I have ordered the buffet many times and have only had a couple of items that I didn't care for. If you work in the area of 18th and K Street, NW, it is a must try restaurant for lunch.

Delicious, authentic Indian food
I love meeting people for lunch at Rasoi, where the buffet always offers an interesting menu, with a delightful variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. I much prefer the food to the pricier Indian restaurants downtown, and it's great to be able to sample so many authentic dishes. Yesterday, we raved about the coconut milk cabbage to our server, who turned out to be Kitty, the charming owner and recipe/menu creator, who talked with us a little about learning to cook as a girl in India.
