Mexican NOT Northern New Mexican.
This is truly Mexican food. You can taste the difference between Mexican and the many other Northern New Mexican kitchens. Amazing soups and just delicious!

Not to be missed!
Our Saturday lunch experience was totally delightful! The Yucatan influenced Mexican cuisine was delicious and presented beautifully. This is not Tex-Mex, but delicately flavored interior Mexico food with rich sauces and fresh ingredients prepared from inspired recipes. Although the restaurant was busy, the amiable owner, George, took time to visit each table -- very thoughtful and welcoming. Everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves, including us!

Definitely check this one out.
Really good food at great prices. This was one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe.
Location is a bit funky, but don't let that stop you from dining in this little GEM of a place.

Delightful Santa Fe Treasure
A totally delightful dining spot is a tucked away downtown location. The delicious food is Yucatan influenced, not the usual northern New Mexico fare. George, the owner, is attentive and friendly; and the service is excellent and efficient. We always have a lovely time here and highly recommend Mucho Gusto!

Good food-good service
The restaurant is located in a small, somewhat hidden shopping mall. It is larger than first appears and it was a pleasant surprise to see the interior. Not fancy by any means but both the food and service was very good. We will definitely go back

Delightful As Usual
Loved the delicious chalupas! Everything was great with happy diners all around. Our party of four, including a Montana resort executive chef, we all well pleased and well fed. The El Salvador influenced cuisine is totally delicious. A real dining must!

Favorite 'Mexican' Restaurant!
Mucho Gusto continues to delight! Our party of four, including a Montana resort executive chef, were all extremely pleased with our various El Salvador cuisine influenced menu choices and enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere. The fish tacos, chalupas and suizas enchiladas may be my favorites, and 'The Bomb' is to die for. Prices are extremely reasonable! George, the owner, was his usual welcoming attentive delightful self. We'll be back soon to this unique flavorful restaurant!

Hidden gem in Santa Fe
Outside of the bustle of the plaza is this amazing restaurant. Food was really tasty and even reasonably priced. We enjoyed "the bomb" and the lamb tacos. These entrees were just fabulous. The creamy sauce on the bomb was a particular favorite. I think if my husband thought he could have gotten away with it he would have licked the plate.

a wonderful spot. took guests who
Have come to Santa Fe for years but weren't aware of Mucho Gusto. They were wowed and will go back. Casual w/geat food and terrific friendly service. As "newer" locals it's become a favorite lof ours

Great Southwest Cuisine
Nice staff and very good food. A casual dining spot with very reasonable prices
5/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
Ah, Mucho Gusto, what a wonderful spot! All three of us enjoyed our late lunch, and I found the Orange Tequila Shrimp to be particularly delicious -- a delightful festival of flavors, not heavy but satisfying, beautiful presentation -- a perfect summer lunch or dinner. George, the owner, was also delightful, as usual. We'll be back!

Wonderful restaurant in Santa Fe
We had a lovely dinner at Mucho Gusto. It's a little hard to find, being tucked away at the back of the parking lot. Don't be put off by the outside appearance. Inside, it was a little bit of tasteful Mexico - with paintings by Mexican artists on the walls. Tables were white with white tile on top, so the appearance was clean and bright and casual, and best of all, the food was superb and not too pricey. We enjoyed our meal immensely. Our service was very prompt. We were very pleased.
The only regret, and it's not their fault, is that their location doesn't allow for any outside patio dining.
I would recommend this restaurant without reservation!
7/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
The place was pretty busy but it was Saturday night. Food and service very good. Great place for the locals as well as tourists. When we go to Santa Fe again we will dine there. A bit hard to find but with GPS all is possible. Did a good job on a busy night,

Much Pleasure from Mucho Gusto!
Mucho Gusto has a relaxed atmosphere, great food, and helpful staff. It is a favorite place for local residents of Santa Fe and those who know Santa Fe. The food is consistently good. The restaurant is within walking distance of the plaza and other interesting shops and galleries in the center of town. I have been to the restaurant many times over the years and will continue to frequent it in the future

My wife and I ate here and had a wonderful dinner. All the food was fantastic. Service was great. The only issue we had was how hot the restaurant was. It made it pretty uncomfortable, but the food made up for it.
7/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had dinner here and i had the pork fajita special, and I can't say why but it was the best flavored pork I have ever had. Service was good and my companion also thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well, although I do not remember what she had. Would and did go back again

A friend recommended this retaurant and we thourougly enjoyed it. The decor is beautiful. The food was exceptional and defenitely not the usual mexican restaurant of which we have so many in Santa Fe. The service was good and the staff friendly. I will go again.

Merits Regular visits
Whenever we are in Santa Fe we go to Mucho Gusto for dinner. Staff is very pleasant, and the food is delicious. We like this restaurant because it is not pretentious, and we get top value for our $$.
7/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Mucho Gusto. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was set back of the road, so we had to be careful to not miss it. We are glad we did not.
7/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
We loved this place!
Small, local restaurant tucked away in the back corner definitely worth finding. They have a varied menu, and the food and service were excellent. We would go back if in Samta Fe again.

Family with a young child
We were wanting to find a restaurant with great food but where we would feel comfortable taking our 5-yr old. This fit the bill and our food was fabulous. My husband had "the bomb" and I had enchiladas and we were both very pleased.

Great food year after year
A hidden gem - we return to Santa Fe each summer and our first stop in a city of great restaurants is mucho gusto. Consistently great fresh food that never disappoints. We love introducing our guests to this restaurant.

Mucho Gusto a Find for visitors
Open Table research was invaluable in locating this "Find" in Santa Fe. Mucho Gusto would be hard to stumble across just walking around (it is in the back of a commercial "mall-like" parking area. Tthe owners/staff were friendly and efficient. No mix-ups. We made our reservation a month in advance. Confirmation was professional. Even though the restaurant was crowded (a happy sign) our table was ready the minute we walked in. The prices were reasonable, the menu varied, the "Bomb" (stuffed chicken breast) was, as advertised, delicious. Great southwest flair and just a fun find for a reasonably priced local cuisine dinner out.

New Mexican Fare
In a city loaded with expensive, chic places, it's hard to find good New Mexican food. Much Gusto fits the bill with excellent food in a nice, family atmosphere. It's small, so make a reservation in the high season and on weekends.

Our friends said that Mucho Gusto was better than any mexican food he had ever had!! Loved it and wants to return when he is back in Santa Fe.

Friendly staff of the restaurant
Friendly staff of the restaurant and good food are not just two plus points. Do visit the place for the paintings in there as well. A portrait of Frida by a local artist and some other of his works are worthy spending an evening at this place.

Delicious New Mexican cuisine
Great New Mexican food in a low key setting! Terrific tomatillo salsa and green chile. Unfortunately they only have beer and wine. Was a little skeptical about trying the agave wine margarita, surprisingly good. We would definitely go back if in Santa Fe again!
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM

For an out of the way, affordable, quality dinner, give this cheerful, delectable restaurant a try. There's a bunch of solid reasons is in the top 5 per centigrade reviews for Santa Fe.

The food was yummy and it was just the perfect place to go after 5:30 Mass at St. Francis Cathedral! Our waitress was very friendly and energetic, too!

Mexican in Northern New Mexico
I consider this a Mexican rather than New Mexican cuisine except for the always present and popular 'green chile' found in one form or another in almost every eatery in Santa Fe including McDonalds.
Mucho Gusto provides interesting and tasty offerings of your more traditional Mexican fare but, with a interesting spin from their chef.

Off the Radar
Found this place by chance on a busy Saturday night in Santa Fe. Don't let the location fool you. Food and service were great. We made the reservation late and they got us right in and waited on our group of 5 immediately. Will definitely stop by again on our next trip to Santa Fe.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
If you are looking for a good, inexpensive southwestern dinner in a casual, friendly spot, this is the place. The outside doesn't lok like much but the service is prompt and very friendly. Try it out. I'll be back again!

Authentic Mexican Food in Santa Fe
Mucho Gusto is an friendly and unassuming Mexican restaurant stuck in a shopping area halfway between the Plaza and Canyon road. It has been in this location for years. The menu has gradually expanded over time to include most of my Mexican favorites. This was a late lunch visit. Service was friendly and helpful. There were a few specials. We chose the Queso Fundido to start and had the Chicken Mole Enchiladas and the Chicken Flautas. Everything was prepared to order. Service speed was great. But the food, it had that wonderful flavor combining the heat of fresh cooking and the heat of the various spices. The result was perfection on the tongue.
For both of our entrees, the chicken was pulled white meat chicken. Moist and flavorful. Great

Fresh and Bright
Came on suggestion of owners daughter, Jazmine. She recommeded & we enjoyed very much:
1) Chicken "bomb--creamy decadent chicken filled w/cheese, chilies, almonds, sundried tomatoes...yum!
2) Mole Enchilada-- afraid to try, but loved it. Sauce sweet and savory, similar to Indian spice, Garam Masala. Nice change from NM fare!
3) Suiza Enchilada--chicken with feta and tomatillo--fresh bright flavor with pop of heat
4) Queso Fundido-- 4 perfect light homemade flour tortillas w/remarkably smooth rich melted cheese. Wine undertone reminded of a delicious swiss fondue, elevated a notch with smoky chorizo.
5) Flan--creamy, smooth, rich wonderfullness without any air bubbles! Perfectly sublime!
