Unique place for romantic dinner
Unique menu and interesting building for upscale food. We thought it would be more Creole but the menu is new American if you ask me.

It was one of those meals
It was one of those meals where everything was exactly right and nothing went wrong. Yellowfin on a romesco sauch was lick-the-plate good and the fish soup (cioppino) was good to the last drop. The appetizers of lamb meatballs with two sauces was a perfect starter, but the oysters Jolie were as well. The brownie desert was as rich and fudgie as a lava cake. I was expecting something to complain about but there was nothing, and the service was attentive but not overpowering. There are bar food specials on Tuesday and Thursday with special drink prices and I fully intend to go next occasion I have free.

6-course tasting menu was
6-course tasting menu was heavenly!! Oysters, lamb, and meyers lemon cheesecake were my favorites! And as always, our server, Dorita, was outstanding!!

Pretty interior although some
Pretty interior although some two top tables are a little too close to each other - I wish there was a better layout. Crab cakes and charcuterie board were great. We almost never order steaks when eating out but out waiter said that they had a new source for their meat and that the prime grade ribeyes were great. They were rather ordinary. Cooked as we ordered but nothing special - especially for the price being much more than all other entries. I should have gone with my first instinct and ordered braised ox-tails - at least I would have eaten something new for me. Still a nice night out. Will definitely be back.

Outstanding in Lafayette
This was our first visit to Jolie's and we are already looking forward to another visit! Service was impeccable and the food outstanding!

Went with friends, a couple
Went with friends, a couple visiting us from Vermont, and had a great time. We all loved the food, service, ambiance - the whole experience. The crusted drum and pan fried soft-shell crab were hits. I made up for not choosing the braised ox-tails during a visit a couple weeks ago and got it this time. A great dish - loved it. I think we've settled on Jolie's as our favorite dining spot in Lafayette. Delicious food at decent prices in an elegant setting,

We tried a whole bunch of appetizers for a wide variety of tastes and they were great!

Fine dining in cajun/creole style
Wonderful food, decent portions, classy setting, The wine pour was a bit stingy. We enjoyed all the Rodrigue paintings.

Food good and great for conversatio
The food was very good. The restaurant was great for us to catch up with old friends. Not too noisy.

From the moment we entered our dining experience was amazing. Dinner reservations were made prior to arrival and there was no wait for seating. The ambience was relaxing. The cuisine was delicious and well presented. The service was unparalleled. I highly reccomend this establishment!

Excellent Southern food
The decor brought me back to my childhood in New Orleans, with lots of George Rodrigues (Blue Dog fame) paintings thrown in. The service was nice and prompt, without being intrusive, perfect for our business lunch. My duck breast was quite underdone, but once sent back for some more cooking was excellent. My fellow diners, both from East Coast, really loved their meals of gumbo, New Orleans BBQ shrimp and pork chop.
Overall, I will return.

Upscale, lovely place
Had a great meal here! Great service and very nice ambiance. Came for lunch and had the Bouillabaisse ….that is the best thing on the menu by far! All the desserts are homemade and we tried the creme brûlée…(the #1 winner) peach cobbler, very good too and the beignets (pretty good). Will be back!

Still our favorite
We chose Jolie's to celebrate a birthday and, as always, left with great satisfaction. The restaurant's focus on fresh and local is most important to us and their attention to detail is much appreciated. We had cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert. Our server was one we had before and she was spot-on in her recommendations. Best fried green tomatoes I have ever eaten and the creme brulee was delicious. The service is friendly and timely, too. Love Jolie's!

trying something new
Overall the food was very good, the waiter was great. The con was that you had to order sides did not come with the meal.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
We always try to go to Jolies when we are in the area. We are from San Antonio, Texas but pass through on business about once a year. I wish this restaurant was in my neighborhood, I would be a regular.

Use of local produce
I dined here with a friend and colleague who was vegetarian and the food on the menu was excellent. On the back of the menu they list all of the local farms they get the produce from and the flavors in the dishes were excellent.

Attentive service without hovering. Waiter well versed on wine selections. Duck gumbo and Gouda mac and cheese were our favorites. Love the fact that ingredients are fresh and local.

Surprise your taste buds
If you rate Jolie's by the bread and spreads they get two thumbs up. The oyster plate was yummy, especially the Jolie's. We also got the Ceviche. It was well seasoned with fresh herbs & fruit in it. Entrees were a small plate, Baked Ricotta, The Pork Chop, Duck Breast, and Cioppino Stew. The Ricotta was flavorful served with mushrooms and crusty, buttered Frenchbread. The chop and duck were perfectly cooked to order and well seasoned, but the shining star was the Cioppino, a flavorful seafood stew. It was voted favorite dish. Dessert was creme brûlée and cheesecake. Both well made but nothing out of the ordinary. The service was a bit slow as the restaurant filled up. We had to ask for dessert choices and then the bill. We would go back.

Great for Business Lunch

Awesome Dining Experience!
If you are looking for a truly exceptional dining experience then Jolie's is the place to go. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the service is exceptional. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgable and took her time and answered all our questions. The food was delicious and fresh. This restaurant prides itself on serving local farm to table ingredients which is exactly what you will get. It was local cuisine of gourmet quality. Just wonderful! If you ever want to treat yourself to a special evening with special food, you must try Jolie's.

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. As we walked through the doors we were greeted by a smiling and personable lady who made us immediately know we had made the right choice. Just as we were seated by one of the friendly managers, our server, Zachary, who was friendly and informative about the menu and remained at the table for conversation for just the appropriate amount of time showed up at our table. Our meal was exquisite and served in a timely manner. The staff created a dessert plate that was unique .

pre show dining
This is one of our favorite places to dine before attending a show in the Oil Center or on UL campus. Also, having Celiac, I feel comfortable eating gluten free there,
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was good, but I found that it was rather short on entry selections. Service was outstanding, place is elegant, and overall a nice place to go. We only had lunch, so the evening selections maybe broader.

Jolie's is Excellent Again
We visit Lafayette every year for Festivals Acadien. Last year we had an excellent dinner at Jolie's, so we tried it again this year. It was even better. Barbecued shrimp appetizer was outstanding. Gumbo was very good. Duck entree was tough, but fish stew
was wonderful. Breads were very good, and desserts likewise. Good wine list. Original Rodrigue paintings throughout the restaurant added to the atmosphere.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is the statement that drove me to want to try this restaurant. The salad was a real treat with fresh kale an tomatoes. I would visit again.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
We loved everything about this experience! The restaurant itself was gorgeous - the George Rodrigue art was a feast for the eyes! Our server was very knowledgable and was happy to give us suggestions from the menu. My drink from the bar was superb - exactly the way I like it! The crab cake appetizer was excellent, and could have been the main course because it was a generous size. Seafood salad was great, desert was a brownie with peanut butter ice cream. All was fantastic! Can't wait to go back!
10/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
If you have a slightly more sophisticated palette and love good food, this is the place for you! We started with Roasted bone marrow & foie gras, both of which were sublime. An excellent Sazerac cocktail as a digestif rounded the meal nicely! Nice ambience in this restaurant, and even though it is big, it felt cosy.

Great place and amazing farm
Great place and amazing farm fresh food. Largest local farmer list ice seen in a restaurant.

Food and service was excellent. It was very nice that the manager, Chelsie, had came visit the table for small conversation and great advice for wine. She is awesome!

Two For One
With Jolie's, you get an art gallery along with the restaurant. Kind of off the beaten path if you're looking for a stop along I-10, but not hard to find and worth the effort. Staff was attentive and friendly. I thought the gumbo was okay. The BarBQ Shrimp and Grits was very good. I'm picky about grits and these grits were spot on. The sauce was New Orleans style with lots of herbs and spices. I had a peek at what other diners were eating, and I will likely visit again to try other dishes.
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
Good and under appreciated
For a romantic dinner Jolie's can hardly be beaten. The ambiance is great and the restaurant is usually quiet. It has been around for a while but is still undiscovered, possibly because the menu sounds eclectic. Their fish entrees are usually great, last week it was black grouper with a delicious generous portion. Their salmon is also excellent and the appetizer oysters Jolie are as good as any Bienville you can find.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Brunch at its best.
It's good to know that Jolie's is open onSaturday and Sundays for brunch. The dining room and patio were full of people who apparently were loving their food and experience. Wait staff is excellent and the farm to table products add full flavor to all the dishes. We loved the special little biscuits served as a on table treat. Highly recommend.

best restaurant in Lafayette, LA
I recently returned to Lafayette, after living in Portland OR for many years. Portland is known nationwide for its great restaurants. Jolie's is comparable to the Portland restaurant scene. I will definitely return. Service, ambience, and food were excellent.

Very good food and nice servers.
Very good food and nice servers. Loved that they used local farmers and purveyors. Made us a great non-alcoholic cocktail!
