Diamond in the rough
Even though it almost passes as a sports bar, the food has been surprisingly good. My family has eaten here about a half dozen times and haven't been disappointed yet!

We needed to host a meeting last minute, and they did a wonderful job taking care of us and making it easy. Our server was top notch and we will definitely think of them for future lunch meetings.

My wife and I enjoyed the visit. Good selection. They were willing to accommodate my wife's GF request. The server, Brandon, seemed to be there just at the right time.
We ate outside. The kids screaming inside was unbelievable.
Appeared many of the guest ate there often.

Good choice for after work
Went on a Thursday evening with a group of 12 people. Shared appetizers and had drinks. The bar area offered high tables which were good for sitting and walking around to socialize. The tab was very reasonable...it must have been happy hour. We tried the chicken nachos, fried pickles (yummy), wings, and ceviche. The pickles were addictive. I find this restaurant best for group gatherings. The bar area can be loud.
The family dining room is more generic and not as vibrant. I prefer not taking the young kids here. Best for adult gatherings. I will return and recommend to friends for a good gathering spot.

Time With Our Teens
The Lafayette Village Grill was a perfect setting for our rare Saturday evening dinner with our teenaged girls. The ambiance was perfect and the food choices delicious. We particularly enjoyed the bruschetta! It was nice to stroll around the grounds after dinner.
We will be back!

Great food for casual dining
Our grandson gave his cheeseburger an 11 on a scale of 1-10..best he'd ever eaten. We have eaten lunch here on several occasions and enjoyed it. We have also eaten dinner, but it was too noisy at both meals to have a conversation without shouting.
The food has always been excellent, however.

Passing thru area--Found on opentable so decided to try it. Great all around restaurant .....our college kids were comfortable , down to 11 yr old. TVs with sports, but not 50 TVs and not overwhelmingly loud. Outdoor seating too. Nice change. Great food. Worth checking out.

Went for a dinner date, and it suited the occasion nicely.
Booth tables are wide, and not conductive to date-night mood due to speaking loudly over noise. Problem solved when we moved to the bar after dinner.
There are a lot of TV's here a-la sports bar, so if you seek a quiet, romantic candlelight atmosphere you will be disappointed.
Good specialty drink selection.

Great up-scale Sports Bar
Very nice place for sports minded groups, huge televisions, good food & excellent beer selection!

Dependable Lafayette Village Staple
The Lafayette Village Grill is a staple of Lafayette Village in North Raleigh. The outdoor seating offers a VERY comfortable dining experience.... Innside however is an altogether different scenario. The atmosphere is noisy (too many hard surfaces) and the layout just doesn't feel comfortable. The staff is well trained, attentive, and professional. The food is consistently above average... not great, not awesome, but above average. The food is fresh and tasty, but not what you would call "foodie" quality. For our family, when weather permits, the outdoor dining is great But if you're relegated to indoor dining, there are much better choices in nearby North raleigh (Winstons being the true bellwether restaurant for example).

Setting and ambience was great.
Setting and ambience was great. The service was very good and we enjoyed our selves. There are two main dining areas - an open bar and individual table area, as well as a PDR (Private Dining Room) which is open if there is no reserved/large party. The PDR has a gas fire place which adds a nice touch, however, beware that there appear to be some loud small groups on the room - they should have stayed in bar area......Otherwise, fun, reasonably prices, nice neighborhood area to attend.

Great Neighborhood Restaurant
The Village Grill is right in my neighborhood. Have been there multiple times for lunch and dinner. Service is good and the food has been great every time. Have taken several friends and now it is their suggestion when we are picking out a place to eat.

One of our favorites
We live close to Lafayette Grill and love to eat there for lunch or dinner. It is our grandson's favorite, too. He thinks they have the best French fries and their cheeseburgers are an 11 on a scale of 1-10. It is a bit noisy with all the TVs on different channels, but I suppose that is what most folks like. We are not a big fan of the noise because it keeps conversation difficult.
