Highly recommend this owner-managed
Highly recommend this owner-managed neighborhood restaurant. Cozy, romantic, quiet enough to have conversation without shouting and still has a great vibe, food is AMAZING, truly delicious and well-priced for the quality (not super cheap but definitely value priced). Small menu changes daily, local & organic whenever possible, yummy wine list. If you'd rather avoid the big box chain restaurants with formulaic food, servers, tv's and NOISE.... some place to enjoy really great food and visit with your dinner companion(s) = then this is the place for you.

It is always a special occasion when we dine at Kitsilano Daily -- even if it's just a quick dinner on a Monday night! This is an extraordinary restaurant.

I brought my husband here for his birthday and his review is "best dinner I've had in Vancouver" (except for my cooking, of course!). The service was fantastic, and the food was innovative and flavourful. We had the culinary adventure, most of which was lovely. I personally didn't enjoy the lamb cheeks we had, but I also don't eat meat normally. They were quite fatty, and though my husband told me that was the best part, he didn't really enjoy his either. But, when you're on an adventure, there are highs and lows and it's all part of the trip. Excellent cauliflower soup, interesting scallop paired with serrano, a King Crab that made me work a little, and a perfectly cooked oyster rounded out the meal. We'll be back for sure!

Great and professional ambiance.
Great and professional ambiance. A couple dishes had some novel flavors, which is what we were hoping for in coming to a place like this for the first time for a special occasion.

I love the ever-changing menu
I love the ever-changing menu with fresh items from the market. The chef's enthusiasm really shows. The staff are also extremely friendly and completely competent.
Kits Daily Kitchen goes above and beyond the ordinary to recognize and treat its customers well.

Service was great and food was amazing. Six course culinary adventure highly recommended!

Fantastic Experience Indeed!
Chef Fowke is outstanding with his culinary skills. We had the chef menu du jour: 2 seafood dish, 2 meat dish, and dessert! Everything was great! The complimentary bubbly for my birthday, the superb services we received from the waitress, the food, etc. Bar none the best in Kits!

Food was fantastic. 6 course
Food was fantastic. 6 course tasting menu is a must try! Our Server was wonderful. Only downside I noticed was the flow of the servers in the restaurant; they seemed a bit rushed or stressed out. We weren't greeted on our way out either. But overall our experience was memorable and the food is definitely worth another visit.

It seemed to be a difficult
It seemed to be a difficult night with a very long delay for meals, not just for our group, but for most of the tables. Having said that, dinner, when it came, was quite tasty, but served only warm as distinct from hot. The highlight, however, was the charming, efficient service. Worth another try.

Professional staff and understated,
Professional staff and understated, classic décor. Music got steadily louder during our dinner, until it was up to a dull roar and conversation became possible only with a raised voice.
None of the entrees interested me, so I paired two of the small plates for a perfectly-portioned, delicious meal of steamed mussels in a lime chili sauce and asparagus literally drowning in butter, caviar, and topped with sprouted watercress. Scrumptious.

Creative wine policy
As a wine lover, I pay close attention to a restaurant's wine list and if they allow guests to bring their own wine. While the restaurant offers a good selection of BC wines, my preference for the meal was a German Riesling and their BYOB policy allows me to bring my preferred bottle of drink to compliment the meal. Their corkage is a reasonable $25, and no corkage if the wine is 1995 or older. They will also waive the corkage on certain days of a month. Check their website for more details.
We were greeted promptly at the door. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh, but it's not top notch. Overall ambience was very relaxing and enjoyable.

The food is AMAZING here and
The food is AMAZING here and we were very impressed with the quality of ingredients. It's clear that the owner / chef puts his heart into the daily tasks of keeping the integrity of this restaurant. Our server was very knowledgable and attentive. We moved to Vancouver from New York City and we can honestly say this is the first place we've felt "at home". It's a privately owned, not a "restaurant group" or part of a chain of restaurants. It's the type of place, we WANT to survive and support and a type of place Vancouver needs more of!

Picky Parents - great dinner.
I know everyone very well at KitsDaily and I expect high standards.
Brought my parents in for dinner, unannounced - and KitsDaily blew them away.
Everything cooked to order - and my mom was happy. Every dietary need was met; and it still tasted great!
The freshness of the product shows on the plate.

The food was excellent, great portions and good value, very good service. The complimentary bread is absolutely amazing and they provided a 2nd basket free of charge. Will definitely go again and recommend to friends.

A wonderful culinary adventure
We thoroughly enjoyed this memorable culinary experience! Had the 6 course menu for $65 each. Loved the element of surprise as as the glass of bubbly since it was our anniversary. Lovely decor, attentive service, and some stand out dishes such as the duck breast, Valencia orange sauce with spot prawns, tender lobster and foie gras to name a few.
Would definitely come back.

I can't believe the Daily Kitchen has been there for four years and we've only gotten to it now! Food was outstanding, value was great, service was awesome. Can hardly wait to go back!

The spot prawns specials were terrific. I wish they were available all year. The bison steak was also perfectly cooked.
The service at Kits Daily Kitchen is always terrific. They are enthusiastic and friendly and always there at the right time.

One word - awesome! Chef has a passion and it comes through not only his creations but also his serving staff.

Boyfriend and I celebrated anniversary. The six course was encouraged and sounded intriguing, but we decided we didn't have the time. We chose to share an appetizers of Golden Beet Salad and then split two entrees, the Copper River Salmon, and then Rare-Seared Sirloin. My boyfriend usually hates beets and fish, but he loved both. Everything was prepared to perfection. The champagne was delightful and both our cocktails wore wonderful. We didn't indulge in wine this time, though the selection of BC wines was commendable. For dessert we shared an Organic Wildberry Crumble and I had Vanilla Bean tea from Mighty Leaf (my new favorite). What a great evening overall! Service was perfect - staff are attentive, knowledgeable and thorough.

Food is incredible
The tasting menu has never failed to impress. Cannot say enough about the fantastic food and service. Would highly recommend the wine pairing with the tasting menu.

A RARE GEM!!!
We brought some out of town guests to the Daily Kitchen this past weekend and enjoyed the chef's tasting menu. What a delight!!! Creative food choices, fresh ingredients with beautiful presentation. My friend is a foodie and has a hobby as a sommolier and was thoroughly impressed. The service staff is attentive without being intrusive, knowledgable about the preparation and ingredients, and provides the perfect kind of evening one would expect from a restaurant charging more than double the prices here.
There are other, more expensive, choices for dining in our neighbourhood, but I will always return to the Daily Kitchen when I need that truly unique dining experience.
6/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
I have never been disappointed in this restaurant....our server
Christian was delightful, the Bison Tenderloin was delicious! However, my friends found the menu choices a little spartan and I think $20.00 for a glass of Note Bene is a bit much. The bread, blue cheese and olives were stunning.....I will be back again and again.
6/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Perfect as usual
Exquisite dining with innovative but reliably delicious courses presented like art, superb staff, ambiance and noise level allows
a leisurely pace and evening filled with conversation. Chef always up to the challenge of different dietary needs at a single table. Wine list local and lovely but, unlike the meal, the prices of wine
Discourage more than a bottle. Nonetheless this has become our favourite Vancouver restaurant for special occasions.

Divine in Kits
Daily Kitchen was a spur of the moment choice for us as we suddenly decided on going out on a Saturday night. We had the window seat, looking onto the street which in itself made it feel very special. Your waitress was attentive, polite, informative and cheerful. Only downside, since the kitchen shops daily for everything on the menu, arriving for a 9pm rez meant there was no soft shelled crab left. They did have something to offer up in place that was delightful. So, get there early for the opportunity to try everything!!
6/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent, as usual!
This was our third time coming to Kits Daily Kitchen, and it definitely will not be the last! It is impossible to get tired of the menu because the menu is different every day! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu for the day, and provided excellent service, friendly, and very attentive to our needs. The food was excellent, delicious and of the highest quality ingredients. We look forward to our next visit!

Great place on a quiet street !
Food was presented artfully and was delicious. Had the six course tasting menu each dish built on the previous one and told a story in locally sourced food. The people sitting next to us had the same tasting menu and had a completely different menu than we did - interesting in a completely good way. Service was friendly, efficient and knowlegable. Will recommend and be back ourselves next time in BC !!!

Great local food
We went here for a special occasion and really enjoyed it. The food was the highlight, though service was also good. I appreciated that the chef accommodated my vegetarian diet and made something off the menu. The only warning I would give is that the menu is quite limited so those that like to have a ton of choices may be frustrated. Our experience is that this is the kind of place that if you just trust the chef, you won't be disappointed.
6/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Only for the adventurist
The food was good all around. We went on a day liver and deer were offered so we tried those. Of course there were normal dishes such as fish and chicken. I heard those were perfectly cooked. Wouldn't go if you cannot afford it. Otherwise definitely worth a try.

This is ny second time dinning
This is ny second time dinning at the Daily Kitchen. The food is so fresh and tatsy. This time I come wt my friends we order everythings in the menu. I can't tell you which dish is the best coz each and every dishs hv their own specialty. I hv recomand lots of my friends to dine out in this restaurant and all of them just love it. Keep up the standard.

Amazing Dining Experience
We did the six course menu and were blown away. The Sea Bass on sweet pea risotto with prosciutto was a particular favorite. However, everyone talks about the food, so I wanted to mention the other factor that made our experience truly unforgettable. The service. We were treated like royalty by our server Yurgita. She spent time explaining each dish with passion and deep knowledge. To say she went the extra mile would be an understatement. When we told her how much we liked one of our wines, she went to the liquor store down the street to make sure they had it in stock. As well as the chef does in selecting his meals, his true talent, it seems, is in selecting his staff. A truly wonderful, memorable experience.
7/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
very short menu (4 appies, 4 entrees) of fresh/seasonal/local food that is well-prepared and beautfully-presented. Service was prompt and friendly without being obtrusive.
7/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food quality and presentation
Creative food, nice presentation, knowledge and friendly staff, good wine list, local produce.
Highly recommend especially the 6 course tasting menu.

Best dining experience in Van
It was my first time at Kitsilano Daily Kitchen. For those who don't know 1st avenue in Kitsilano, the area is a gem. Lots of great finds and beautiful older style housing and buildings across from the restaurant. We were a group of 4, out to celebrate my parents 40th Anniversary. The Daily kitchen did it in style! We had a seat by the front of the restaurant, looking out onto the street with the big open front windows. We had the Culinary experience, with 6 courses and wine. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was phenomenal. The servers were punctual with the wine and the food, and hilarious to boot. They really made the culinary experience...well, them and the amazing food.

Vancouver s best kept secret
This is our all time favourite restaurant in Vancouver. We can honestly say that we haven't had a bad plate yet! The daily menu change is always an awesome surprise. This is our "go to" place for date night, anniversaries and birthdays. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed, and the servers are amazing. The food is truly out if this world.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our server, in recognition of birthdays for two of us, brought a glass of sparkling wine for all 6 at the table. Nice.
We were testing out the BYOB idea for our staycation in Vancouver, and brought our own bottle of Gaja Barolo; corkage charge here is a reasonable $25. The only downside to BYOB is that KDK's limited menu (4 choices) make me feel that I had only two choices for my main course: chicken or pork tenderloin. I know I would have been happier with the halibut.
The ever-changing menu is a great idea. Too bad we can't know before we leave home, what the choices will be: I would have brought a white wine that day. The solution: don't bother with BYOB if you don't know what's on the menu.

Food fine, service lacking
The quality and presentation of the meal at Kits Daily has never been an issue. And, usually, the service is attentive. But on this evening, the four of us noted that the level of service dropped off a cliff. It simply took too long for drinks to appear and for each of our two other courses to be served.
As it turned out, we were greatly enjoying each other's company so the additional time it took to serve the meal did not distract from our conversation.
But, for a restaurant of this caliber, service this "relaxed" is not appropriate.
We hope this was just one of those nights.
We look forward to returning to Kits Daily.

Excellent 6 course special!
I had the 6 course dinner with my girlfriend since it was my birthday. Everything about it was very good. One of the courses was steak on top of pasta, it was great cooked perfectly med rare, however I'm a bit disappointed they didn't ask what our preferences were. My girlfriend prefers steak to be well done (i know, not the best way to eat steak but that's what she prefers). We ordered one of their cocktails, initially we didn't like it but our server got it quickly remade and it was much better afterwards. The kitchen, albeit was a bit slow since all the diners came in at about the same time, made excellent food that I would come again on our next outing!.

Corby Was a Gem
Ate here with my boyfriend and some friends the other night and it was phenominal. The ambiance was perfect, low key but professional atmosphere with a great playlist playing in the back ground. The food was top notch, I had sea skate which was a new experience for me and it was delicious! So much care and thought put into each dish and on top of that a great wine list to pair with each. What made our experience that incredible night that it was, was without a doubt our server Corby. He was patient and funny, offered perfect wine and drink pairings and really added to the overall enjoyment of our evening. I would recomend this restaurant and Corby to anyone looking for a beautiful dining experience.

Great for entertaining !
I have brought clients here several times and they have always been impressed. The whole style and character of this place becomes a special treat especially when people discover that it exists so close to where they live, yet it had been unknown to them previously.
Highly recommended for people who enjoy diverse tastes and sophistication, all at a reasonable price, including the wine list.

Still one of the best in the city
This was our second visit, and I was pleased to see that The Daily Kitchen is still a great place to have a meal where the food is fresh, well prepared, and pretty to look at. Much of the dishes have the area they are from on their name (for example: Mount Lehman Chicken Noodle Soup and Duckling a L'Orange - two classic dishes). My wife had the Sautéed Vancouver Island Chanterelle Mushrooms, which are our local 'truffle'. My only disappointment was not many choices of dessert this time (including no cheese plate). Still, the BC wines were surprisingly good (I usually am a snob about the reds, especially because they are often so expensive here and almost never worth it). The wait staff is friendly, yet professional and well-informed.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had the six-course tasting menu. It was fantastic - each course was better than the last. What was nice about this option was that a couple courses included items from the menu that we were also curious to try, plus a few surprises that were not on the menu. The service was great - attentive, but not hovering or interrupting. The server was also able to answer all our questions and make knowledgeable recommendations. The ambiance was also excellent, and made our experience comfortable and enjoyable.
9/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food is always excellently prepared and of superior quality. The chef is witty without being into silly over the top presentation. The servers are very well informed about food and wine and they do it without pretension. It is a pleasure to dine here every time we go and we've been there about 7 times. It's a rare gem.

Wow! We had some wonderful
Wow! We had some wonderful dishes tonight at Kits Daily Kitchen. The jump-fried whole prawns, the red wine braised oxtail (with risotto), pan-roasted ling code, and seared breast of duckling were terrific. The accompaniments enhanced the feature item of every dish and the flavours were subtle and perfect
The service, as always, was friendly and timely.

Charming Service & Brilliant Food
Fantastic room, creative food, BC centric wine list, and wonderful service. Chef Brian brings seasonal and regional cuisine to your plates on an ever changing menu. Dishes brilliantly paired with BC wines. Lovely service.

Took my wife her for her 30th. The food was amazing. I mean amazing. And the service was fantastic too. Great find.

Interesting and innovative
Interesting and innovative menu. Excellent wine list. Attentive service. Comfortable. Great music. Good location.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
A little know gem about this restaurant is that they feature a different wine that you can take every Monday and not pay a corkage fee. Check out the menu online and the list is there. We went on the first monday of the month and were able to bring 2 bottles of Pinot Noir. The food is great and worth the price, but being able to bring your own wine makes it even more accessible to everyone.

It was our 3rd culinary adventure at Kits Daily Kitchen and it was simply amazing, would highly recommend it. Our server was attentive and engaging, great service!!!. The evening with friends was who had never been to Kits Daily Kitchen was exciting and memorable.

We went for her birthday and they were very accommodating. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food (venison and steak) was amazingly cooked.
