Smoked salmon on the best
Smoked salmon on the best crunchy baguette! Nice to have the option of a side salad as well.....service was fantastic! There are lots of great places to eat in the Thiird Ward....this is one of the best.

Nice place for date night.
Great spot for a nice Saturday date. We were Seated by the window with a nice view.
Small plates menu was a great idea. Atmosphere was lively and not overbearing.
Will definitely return.

Swig continues to provide
Swig continues to provide excellent variety - special drinks, wine & beer; first course appetizers with plenty to share; great salads and entrees. Love the chocolate fondue - homemade marshmallows, fruit & cookies are great. Nice way to end a lovely evening with friends. Recommend it for your next outing!

Our table stopped here because
Our table stopped here because we had reservations at Splash Studios painting bar after and Swig was nearby. None of us had ever been to Swig before and were pleasantly surprised with our experience. We decided to go the small plate route and split 6 small plates which were all amazing. Our server was also great and the atmosphere was fun and swanky. It seemed to be a bit of an older crowd, but that didn't bother us. We all left with smiles on our faces and full bellies! I will definitely be back.

Sunny day lunch
Swig is great on a sunny, breezy day for lunch! We sat near the giant garagedoor-like windows - we felt the breeze and got to enjoy the sunlight. I ordered the blackened tilapia sandwich and a side salad. It's was a great choice! The tilapia was cooked perfectly and the sandwich was truly delicious! I would order it again. Swig is one of my favorite places in Milwaukee - and this lunch just proved my love for it once again.

Great place to take an out of towne
My best friend was visiting from DC to help me with a recital I was organizing for my music students. After a very successful performance, we wanted to celebrate with dinner. Swig was the perfect choice. She was impressed and we both loved the food (smoked salmon stack and tenderloin crosrini).

Good Anniversary Spot
My wife and I drove from Illinois to visit Swig based on a recommendation from family who live in Wisconsin and we enjoyed every minute of it. We went during the week late night so it was not busy but they had the garage door open which allowed for a beautiful night view of the street and the food was excellent. The crab stuffed pepper appetizer was excellent and our waitress was vry kind and attentive. We hope to revisit Swig during a busy night over the weekend and enjoy the experience of Milwaukee nightlife.

Nice Lunch Break
We had a nice table looking out at the street, and enjoyed a light and relaxing lunch. The small plates are well suited to share a little variety and yet still not make a big meal. Tasty!

Brought 2 friends who haven't been there before. We had a fantastic diner and a wonderful evening overall. We'll be back!

Downtown dining week
We enjoyed Swig during downtown dining week. The food was outstanding. The black bean cakes are not to be missed.

Great for drinks, great for tapas, great for hanging out with friends-- what else could you want? Highly recommended!

Restaurant has a great location and indoor/outdoor dining. We like the tapas so you can have a variety. The wine list is short but good quality.

Lovely outdoor seating
Beat salad was excellent. Sent back the mushroom risotto - very disappointing. The salmon entree was very good - but so small for the price. Best part of meal was the flatbread. Will definitely go back when we are back in Miwaukee. Devon was a great server!

Dinner was tasty, impressive wine list, nice ambiance, but service was only ok.I was confused as to why our server was trying to hurry us as the restaurant was not even half full. Sat at bar before dinner and bartenders served three people before starting my drink! Then my drink took 10 minutes to get. There was 5 people behind bar so confused as to why my drink took so long.

Food was delicious! Server took great care of us. Would recommend for sophisticated yet casual atmosphere.

Wisconsin cheese board
Loved the Wisconsin cheese board appetizer, amazing blue cheese and a columbia. Entres were all nuanced enough and the portions about right.

Great weekday meal
I took my parents and my husband here on a quiet Wednesday night for dinner. The waitress was charming and the decor was great. Normally, I would have sat outside but it was too hot.
The food was solid. The Wild Mushroom Gnocchi wasa little salty for my taste but most people like more salt than me and my husband, who had the same thing, really loved it. My mother liked her sea bass and my father liked his meal as well, which is quite a feat considering that they can be quite critical of restaurants.
The only problem came when coffee was served. It was tepid. Luckily, I am strange enough to like room-temperature coffee, but my husband was disappointed. The waitress saved it by having a fresh pot made and bringing him new coffee promptly.

Swig never disappoints!
As the Swig staff enthusiatically noted, this was my 20th visit to Swig...testimony to the consistently excellent food and attentive service. Our party of six, gave high marks to our sea bass and scallop entrees and fabulous desserts. Great bar too...loved the Caipirinhias!

Service, Food and a Great Find
Very attentive and friendly waitstaff and they pour a great drink (try the dreha martini). Small plates are nice to share & everything was fresh and pretty to see before happily devouring it. A little disappointed in the asiago artichoke dip but I should have known to step out of the box and try something new. The lobster stuffed poblano pepper was outstanding as was the shrimp ravioli and bay scallops. Prices pretty reasonable given this is the "hip & trendy" 3rd Ward section of downtown. Stopped here on a Monday night before a concert at the Pabst and wasnt sure I would need reservations; glad I did--it started to get pretty lively at 5:30 so it must be drawing the after work crowd.

Swig Small Plates
Great selection of interesting small plates that are large enough to share. Definitely a great place if you love to try new twists on classics like smoked salmon appetizers, fresh fruit/goat cheese salads, etc. we didn't try any entrees since the two of us filled up on just four plates but the selection was equally enticing.

We were seated right away, and then we sat for more than 15 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order. I was getting a bit annoyed, and then it quickly turned around. A server by the name of Eric came over and took our order, along with the order from 2 other tables that had been waiting longer than us. He brought everything out quickly, and everything was accurate and very good. I was offered a free dessert, drink or shot of my choice because it was my birthday. My friend and I had a very good experience once he came around, and he even comped us our appetizer because of the initial wait and our understanding. Will definitely be returning!

We went to Swig for appetizers & a drink before heading to a Brewers game. It has a cool bar vibe and the appetizers were really good. We had the grilled watermelon salad & thai rolls. The salad was to die for and the rolls were really good - but just little on the dry side. The waitress was friendly & very helpful. We'd go back for sure.

Better Scallops than Florida
My boyfriend was in FL for this previous week for work and we went to Swig the night he got home to celebrate. He ordered the scallop salad and said over and over again that it was far better than any scallops he had down there! I had 2 little plates as my meal and again, both delicious. Our service wasn't great though - wrong dinner came to the table and the bill was inaccurate. Both were fixed without question, but not as relaxing as we would have hoped. The server was very quiet when speaking and had to ask him to repeat himself multiple times. Overall, the food makes want to go back again and give the service another try.

Got seated with our reservation right away on a busy night. Had a great time and really enjoyed the food! Great waiter. Wish there were a few more selections for small plates as the ones we tried were all really good- would love to try more! Scallops were delicious!

I had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The food was creative, modern and best of all tasted great. I appreciate all of the vegetarian options on the menu. Our sever, Kris, was very attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely stop by this restaurant again the next time I plan an afternoon in the Third Ward.

There was much activity at Swig on a recent Saturday night. Some birthday celebrations, mostly couples enjoying an evening out with great food. We were not rushed - enjoyed a leisurely meal.

Not open for late night
We had reservations at 8pm on a Saturday & were seated right away. We took our time & by 11pm we were the last ones in the restaurant & no service had come by to fill our water glasses for at least 45 minutes. The food was good, although the black quinoa was sweeter than I expected. The drinks were a little pricey. As we were leaving, some people came in for a drink & they were asked to leave because they were closing. We were surprised by the lack of hospitality at the conclusion of our visit. I had a City Tin coaster I had forgotten to give them & they weren't able to honor it because they had already shut down the register. Overall, the food & the atmosphere were good at the beginning, but certainly not a place to be after 10pm.
