This is now my fiancee's favorite restaurant. He had the pulled pork and said it was amazing. I had cheese and the red wine flight and was in heaven. We both started with the Brussels sprout salad which was light but so tasty. The wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive without hovering or always present. Overall, we thought the food was delicious and the service equally good. We will be back.

Make reservations! House Red
Make reservations! House Red was spicey and flavorful, fun to sip. Food came quickly and was delicious. Gluten free options were many and excellent. Server made us feel welcome. View of the Willamette River with ducks and boats was wonderful. I want to go back on a warm, sunny day and sit outside!

My husband and I went there
My husband and I went there for the "Thirsty Tuesday". It's $48 for an app, 2 entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine. Best deal in town!! The food was excellent and the wine was a pefect pairing to out meal. We will definitely be back!

We had a great evening sampling
We had a great evening sampling many of the local wines. Our waiter was VERY knowledgeable on the wines and made some excellent suggestions. Very few California wines -- nearly all Oregon and Washington, and not the standard ones you normally see. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Waterfront's Best Outdoor Spot
If you're wanting to get a table here at any sunny Happy Hour, better make reservations, because that's when it hops. They have passable Happy Hour-priced wines, but opt for a look at the larger list if you want to really sample the depth of their cellars, so to speak. Talk to cellar curator Michael if you're ready to hear all about it-- He's enthusiastic and knows his stuff. We go mainly for the wine, but the food, what we've sampled, is pretty good, and more fairly priced than some other high-falutin' restaurants in the immediate vicinity who shall remain nameless...

Things have changed for the better
We dined here last year and were totally unimpressed, however this time we were blown away! What a difference a year makes, and a change in staff attitude! The head guy was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. It changed our whole dining experience (for the better). Now we plan to go back for the experience.

Fresh local products with an urban vibe. Good place to watch people walk by on the esplanade.Warm atmosphere but a little noisy because of the size. Unfortunately they were out of both desserts mentioned on the menu that we actually came there for.

Will def be back!
It was our first time here. Loved it and was very enjoyable. Just wished there were some more music playing. Food was sensational.

Lovely night at Thirst
My husband and I decided to try Thirst's Portland Dining Month 3-course meal. He started with the baked brie which came in a pastry crust. The brie wasn't the most tasty. My salad, on the other hand, was really yummy as was the flight of 4 white wines that I added to my meal. The pours were generous and I enjoyed all four of them. We both chose the salmon and it was really good, though the butter pat on top was unnecessary because the salmon was quite tasty without it. His Earl Grey Creme Brulee was bland but my salted caramel brownie with vanilla bean ice cream was excellent. We sat outside at a wonderful table for 2 with a view of the marina. The people watching was fun, as well. The service couldn't have been better.

Good food but worth the price?
Dinner here was really good. The french onion soup, salad, and brownie were all delicious and the Daisy Duke drink was tasty as well. The problem was I went on a Tuesday to get the Thirsty Thursday deal advertised on their website: "$48 per couple gets you an appetizer, entrée for each, shared dessert and a bottle of wine from our Thirsty Tuesday list." I even made note of it on my reservation. Once there they told us since it was Portland Dining Month, they are not doing that and that the dining month deal was better. Not true. You get 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, with no drinks for $29 PER PERSON. Definitely not a better deal. It was really annoying because that was the only reason I went there. They need to update their website.

Not your ordinary evening...
We came for the Portland Dining Out three course meal. The food was excellent and the service was fairly good (except for the server disagreeing that the baked brie did not come with apples, though it explicitly said on the menu that it did; she did check and bring four very small apple slices).
The extraordinary part was the kitchen fire that drove us outside as we were finishing our desert. My restaurant karma seems to favor odd things happening to me, so honestly I wasn't surprised. I will definitely go back and try again for a complete meal.

Tasty menu and great location
Recommend the baked Brie in a flaky puff pastry crust, salmon was perfectly cooked and a to-die-for brownie with caramel sauce al la mode. Yummy!

We'll be back, indeed!
My wife and I ate at Thirst before attending a show at the Keller and we had a great time. The meal was delicious, the service was excellent and the outdoor dining overlooking the marina was wonderful. My only regret was that we had to leave the restaurant early to catch our play. If not for that, we would have stayed for hours!

Love the wine flight
Our server was fantastic! The view was outstanding. Found a new wine to buy. Will return soon

Loved my well chosen wine flight. All Pacific NW wines!ones I hadn't tried before - they said they aren't available in grocery stores. Ate a fantastic scallop dish and tasted the best hot crab I have ever had. Service was friendly and prompt. They know their wines here. Very enjoyable - can't wait to go back.

Fantastic All Around!
A+++ service from Michael. So knowledgeable about wines. Picked a perfect wine to pair with our delicious meal. The Viogner. I wasn't sure at first - but decided to trust the expert - it really did pair well with our food. First course was their Baked Brie - the port sauce with it was divine! The tart apples paired very well with the acidity in the wine. My wife had the ahi tuna - definitely the best we have ever had - and we eat ahi a lot. Seared perfectly - flavorful. I had a darn good burger! Sundried tomato aioli was excellent. We had their creme brulee cheesecake for dessert - delicious as well. With one of the best patios in Portland, this place is a true gem!

Great for food as well as wine!
Although this is primarily a wine bar, the food is wonderful and the happy hour, in the sun, watching the ships go by couldn't be better!

Best girlfriends celebrate
My two closest women friends and I, who have celebrated together for more than 40 years, found this riverside bistro to be the perfect spot on a balmy summer evening. Great food, excellent service and perfect setting. We'll be back!

We had the clam bake pix fixe dinner outside overlooking the harbor and it was a really nice evening. It's always fun to do sidewalk dining in the summer and enjoy people watching as well as good food and a new wine.

Lovely Bistro On The Marina
Went to the annual Labor Day (on Mon., Sept 2nd) Crab-fest, and it was FANTASTIC, as usual! Live Maine Lobster flown in, along with cole-slaw, corn-on-the-cob, potato salad, cornbread, and watermelon. WHAT A FEAST, and everything was perfect, including the service and the view over the marina. An event I look forward to every year, and I highly recommend it!

on the waterfront
At 7pm on a Sunday, we were seated immediately at the edge of the sidewalk, overlooking the marina. We watched the sunset (facing East but the sky was beautiful). This is exactly where we were hoping to sit. The server was excellent, attentive, and a delightful person. The wine list was pretty good and they seem to have a full bar. We had the crab dip as an appetizer which was tasty and the salmon for dinner. The server kept bringing out bread so we could eat all of the crab dip. The dip was so good on top of the salmon too. The salmon was excellent to me, although my friend thought it might have been just a tad too well done. The restaurant closed up pretty early and because we took our time we were the last ones to leave just before 10.

If you like wine....
...Michael and his staff know wine. Nice list on the menu, but more than that, the staff isn't shy about suggesting off-the-menu wines once they know your tastes. What we know of the food menu is limited to things that you eat to pair with wine, and it's all very good. Seasonal changes keep it fresh, too.

Great Happy Hour Drinks & Food!
This restaurant had a superb menu for Happy Hour... the food portions were large and the food was excellent. Also, one of the drinks on the Happy Hour menu (for only $5) was a Key Lime Martini... it was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish we could have made it to the dinner menu too, but got too full.

Dinner with friends
We love Thirst and made a special trip to Portland and met with a couple of friends for dinner. As always, the food was exquisite. The dips for appetizers were great, and we enjoyed a bottle of Z'Ivo and a cabernet I don't remember. I had the scallops for dinner and they were the best I've had! My husband had a white fish and also loved it. Michael was our server who is one of the best in Portland. Overall, a fantastic dinner experience.

Great food, friendly staff.
The food servings were right sized and well presented, with our server knowledgeable and friendly. I had a very cool flight selection of local reds.
Although the dining area was relatively small, the noise level was amenable and private. There was a large private party in the function room attached however we didn't realize till as we were leaving. Good noise deadening.
The view of he marina and river was cool. This would be a nice spot for a couple to sit out on summer eve's.

Thirst... as usual
My wife and I have been coming here for a little over 2 years now, and every time we come its just as good as we remember. With a seasonal style menu, contentment can be found with dishes geared towards a specific season; chef steers away from displaying the same tired dish year after year, and brings in new ideas. We did wait a little over 5 minutes before we were served water, and since we were 1 of 3 parties there (all parties were 2 or less individuals) I felt this was a little uncalled for. But, our server was very professional about it. The drink selection was still great (my wife always gets the "Daisy Duke" cocktail, word of warning, you only need one). Ahi tune was perfect, and my wife's pulled pork on polenta was to die for.
