One of the Best Restaurants
We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary at Le Rendez-vous. The casual elegance, the delicious food and attentive service was an added bonus to this happy occasion. We would recommend to all who want a great dining experience.

Outstanding -- all the way around. We both had the specials and they were "special", especially the pan-fried grouper which was perfect. The house-made pate was equally delicious. Topping it all off,...the service was superb!

So many excellent choices,
So many excellent choices, but the cabrilla is a real standout! Very nice wine list and expert, friendly service. The addition of the small plates is a real plus, allowing for even more choices and easier sharing. Le Rendez-vous has always been one of our favorite restaurants and it just keeps getting better as it changes with the times, yet consistently does the classics perfectly.

Bastille Day Celebration
We enjoyed a fabulous and fun dining experience at Le Rendez-vous on Bastille Day. The restaurant was so festive with banners and balloons. Our service was excellent despite it being a busy night. The meal was absolutely delicious. It arrived at the table hot and beautifully presented. Dessert was excellent, too. A perfect evening!

We only recently moved back to Tucson after living in New York, Brussels and Paris, France, for 30 years and had forgotten about this gem of a restaurant. The food, service and staff were all the best. We look forward to returning soon.

Marcus is a gem
Once again Marcus prepared an outstanding meal for our enjoyment. His food is delicious and artfully plated. Eating there is always a joy. He consistently creates delightful vegan options to tease my palate while tempting my dinner companion with items from the regular menu. The excellent service enhances dining at Le Rendez-vous. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food
A friend and I had a lovely early-evening Saturday dinner at Le Rendez-vous. The food is just delicious, the service very good, and the atmosphere very nice but not pretentious. The small plates are very small, but a great idea for someone wanting to sample some things from the menu. The highlight of my meal this time was the wonderful Salade de Poirres Pochées, and the next time I go I will treat myself to a full entree and be sure to share the three-mushroom appetizer in addition to repeating this salad. Definitely worthy of a special occasion, and there were quite a few birthdays being celebrated around us.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Introducing the small plates was one of their best ideas. One can sample a variety of offerings for $5.50 each either before or instead of an entrée. I'm sorry they no longer offer frog legs in the traditional manner with garlic, butter, and parsley. Breaded in tomato sauce is disappointing. It is hard to improve on some of the traditional French cooking.

One of our favorites...
We have been dining at Le Rendez-vous for nearly 20 years and typically visit 4 to 5 times per year for dinner and about the same for lunch. The food is always delicious. They serve the best sweet breads we've had anywhere in the US, the wines are nicely priced, and many of their dishes are one of a kind for Tucson. Changes in the past year have mostly been for the better. The ambience is much improved -- lighter and more open feeling. Menu changes are less to our liking because we aren't small plate fans, and some of our traditional favorites have been dropped (mushroom salad) or the preparation has changed (sweet breads). But the chef is always anxious to please, and he will prepare the old items on request. Always a treat!

We always look forward to dining at Le Rendez-vous. It is and has been one of the best restaurants in Tucson for fine dining.

Greeting upon arrival, service, ambience, and attentiveness combined to ensure
a happy evening. The food, wine, and presentation were exemplary.
Our table was quiet enough to enjoy hearing our table conversation with only
moderate background noise. Some acoustic improvement could be acquired without
We would happily recommend this venue to others. We believe we received very good
value. We wish you much continuing success.

Food was very good.
First time at the restaurant and the food was very good. We had a filet and the salmon with a puff pastry mushroom starter all sensational. I felt sorry for the wait staff who were slammed. As a diner you observe the frenetic servers running from table to table trying to grab tabs, greet newly arrived diners, etc and this pace puts a certain edge on the atmosphere. I ranked the service only "good" even though our server was trying to muscle through the dinner service and yet provide excellent service when she could. I'm not in the business but certainly can't see the added expense of a extra person on a busy weekend night not paying for itself to avoid this kind of review. We are going back but not for a 700PM reservation.

A bit of France in the desert
Many years ago my husband and I dined with you and found that the food tried too hard to be French, like trying to trick us by soaking everything in loads of butter. We did not return until recently and found the restaurant to have changed, For the better, not for the butter.
It is a delightful, atmospheric, cosy romantic place that has captured a method of cooking that absolutely elicits the fabulous French cuisine we have coveted and know well from many travels around the world. Great job, Le Rendezvous! We shall be back often!

Favorite special occasion place
Although it's in a weird location the place is just right inside. You can have a nice conversation while enjoying wonderful food and fine service. The decor, lighting, table spacing and menu are just right for small special occasions like romantic birthday dinners with your significant other. We had Coquille St Jacque and filet for entrees. They were excellent. If you save room, the Grand Marnier Souffle is exceptionally good.
8/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
I've always liked French cuisine, and I've take 3 years of French, the restraunt is reservation only, there's 3 course dinners, I had the salmon, my date had the beef Wellington, we skipped hors d'ourves, the meal did take awhile to prepare but it was very well worth the wait, we will definitely be returning very often, a new favorite of mine.

Non-descript exterior deceiving
This restaurant in a small unassuming white building near a busy street corner is a surprise. It's larger than it looks from outside, with a lovely ambiance. Service was gracious and attentive, and the food was divine. Great choice of fish/seafood offerings was appreciated. The sea bass was outstanding. Many interesting small plates and appetizers can be combined to make a meal of variety. Silky smooth Crème Brûlée was the perfect ending. A bit pricey, but a lovely special occasion place.

this is always a great time, we love to dine here, food is always excellent and the service is great.

My wife and I have been visiting
My wife and I have been visiting Tucson, AZ for the past 22 years and finally tried Le Rendev-Vouz last week. It was our wedding anniversary and wanted to do something special. It was a great choice. Friendly staff, excellent choices on the menu and the food was delicious. I had the French onion soup and it is the best I have ever had! My main course was the beef welington and it was amazing. My wife had the coco vin and she was in heaven! We shared the crepes for dessert which was prepared tableside. I highly recommend this restaurant but you need a reservation as it has 2 small dining rooms. Can't wait to go back next year!!

Maestro Marcus, the great chef
Chef Marcus is truly the maestro of the kitchen. His delicious meals are a treat for the eye to behold and the palate to savor. I always remain impressed with his ability to prepare a vegan and gluten free meal for me that surpasses all expectations. Each mouth-watering bite is pure indulgence. In addition, my dining companion finds taste-tempting items off the main menu. Thanks, Marcus, for the delicious food and thanks to the staff for the great service.
9/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience there, as always! The mussels, Coq Au Vin, the Coquilles Saint-Jacques were all truly delectable, savory, expertly prepared! Will definitely return for more!
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent as always...
Still one of the best restaurants in Tucson. The small plates in the bistro area add a new dimension to dining. They are all quite good.

Food is always delicious
We always enjoy Le Rendez-vous. Feels like we are in France. The happy hour cocktail specials are very tasty. For dinner we like their "small" plates and appetizers, a great way to taste a little bit of several great dishes. The smoked duck with goat cheese appetizer was my favorite. The service has always been perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant.

loved making reservations
loved making reservations on line. Service and Food was extremely delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Even though the only vegetarian dish on the menu is a chefs choice, the dish was thoughtfully and artistically prepared with a fantastic variety of vegetables and tasted delicious.

Great French food
This restaurant is a sweet little gem tucked away in a corner of Ft Lowell and Alvernon. The food is authentic French and there is a small, but eclectic variety. The food was scrumptous and the service was attentive. We dined early and we were the first ones but by the time we left at 6:30, it was very crowded and the noise level increased.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Wonderful and Consistent
I have eaten at Le Rendez-vous three or four times now. The service has always been attentive and the food consistently impressive. Being more traditional French cuisine, the menu is set apart from other modern American grill or upscale Italian restaurants that would generally be seen as its competition.
9/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Love the sea bass and of course my husband only orders the duck! The French onion soup was a little to salty for me but delicious. The chocolate soufflé was to die for...we always share that! The best part using our Amazon Deal coupon!

Fine, non-stuffy Dining
We dined here for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. We expected it to be one of those Old Tucson, pretentious, fine-dining restaurants. Yes, the fine-dining was there--the menu is classic French cuisine--but there was no high-brow attitude present. The food was fresh and delicious; I highly recommend the Coq au vin for a main. We ordered the house chardonnay (Napa Cellars) and pinot noir. Both were reasonably priced and obviously selected with care. The chardonnay was particularly well-balanced with respect to fruit and oak. My dessert--a traditional vanilla creme brulee--met my expectations. The service level was quite high without being intrusive, and the wait staff were pleasantly down-to-earth and knowledgable.

The home of Epicurean delight.
The food was superior in all aspects, so was the service. The menu is top notch and give one great choices. I've gone every Bastille day for years. Tucson is lucky to have such a restaurant of haute cuisine.

Great food + great service = Wonderful time! Keep it up!

The one and only!
My husband thinks it i-s the one and only excellent restaurant in Tucson and I agree. We've been diners for over 25 years … hope some younger diners join us. The new menu makes it affordable!!
10/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
This restaurant never fails to impress. Classic French cuisine with great ambiance and service.
10/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
One of my new favorites in dining. Great atmosphere in the main dining area, excellent wine selection and I love the fact you can order a light meal. My date and I shared the escargot, which was exactly how I love it, rich and garlicky just amazing, I had the duck confit, excellent flavors and perfect portion. My date had the boullabaisse which he thoroughly enjoyed, excellent wines and very attentive service.
The last time I dined, we were sat in the patio area, total different feel than the main dining area. The main dining is very cozy and romantic, and lighted.
There are several other french favorites on the menu that I will need to go back and try.
Definately one of my better dining experiences in awhile.

Well, it wasn't Paris, but it was the most delicious dinner! Everything was so perfect. The beef wellington was absolutely superb. My husband had a veal with apple dish that was great. A lovely dining experience.

A great French restaurant
Tucson is known for its Mexican restaurants, enough that you learn to recognize the regional cuisines. So you don't expect to find much in the way of French restaurants, but Le Rendez-Vous is spectacularly good. It's not cheap (main courses typically about $30), but it's our favorite of the restaurants in Tucson that charge that much or more. In fact, I've certainly eaten more expensive meals in France that weren't as good as is typical here. Many of the French favorites are available (coq au vin and bouef wellington among the main courses, escargots and onion soup to die for among the appetizers), and I don't think we've had a bad meal in years of going about once a year. We'd definitely recommend it.

Always a winner
For years we have enjoyed this delightful French Bistro and it never fails to give us an enjoyable and delicious dining experience. One can dine early and quickly on wonderful small plates in the front of the house or you can have a sumptuous leisurely full dining experience in the restaurant in the rear.
11/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
we were there for happy hour and the matrîs d' treated us so nicely. we ordered light food, fish and everything was absolutely fresh and delicious!! I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Often. And bring more friends.

Overall, we had a great experience for our anniversary dinner. The food was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great French Lunch
I've always liked Le Rendez Vous, but now with the renovations and lighter atmosphere, and the fabulous new menu, I love it. I can never decide what to order, because there are so many good choices. Our group of 9 had a wonderful time, and will be returning.
11/20/2013 4:00:00 PM
The only complaint, and it's a small one, was that the two diners who had the fish special on Sat. felt that the fish, ono I believe, was a tad too dry. Other than that, great....

When Le Rendez-vous first
When Le Rendez-vous first changed hands a couple of years ago, from the Father Jean Claude to his son, I wasn't quite sure how it would go as it had a mediocre beginning. All is well now as the food was excellent, our waiter was good and the atmosphere is just right for a more gracious dinner.

Bistro at its Best
As always, the entire evening was great. For this time, we just ordered off the small plates menu -- tried about 5 of them. All were superb. We also tried the butternut squash soup special and the French onion soup -- both were outstanding. We are never disappointed at Le Rendezvous -- but adding the bistro menu/small plates was a great idea.

Unfussy French food in Tucson
This little restaurant off the beaten path is a gem! Fabulous food, excellent service, yet casual and wonderful! No stuffiness here, just wonderful food. All of the expected French favorites - escargot, onion soup, etc.

I have been going to Le Rendez-vous since it opened many years ago. For local restaurants, it is an all time favorite. I have never been let down by Le Rendez-vous. I have come to really enjoy the small plate offerings. You can really have a fun time with them. I will be back soon.

What a great find!!!
We were very impressed with this quiet French restaurant in the middle of Tucson. Nice atmosphere, excellent service and the food was delicious. Loved the frog legs appetizer. We had the chateaubriand and it was cooked perfectly. This is definitely a place we will return when in the area.
12/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
Everything is always wonderful. Service is fantastic. The food is not only beautifully presented, it is perfectly prepared. After several dinners and lunches here, I've never had one item get to my table that was that was not, well, perfect! I have no idea who runs this place, but they could teach a lot to some of the other places in Tucson.

I requested to be seated at the best table for a special occasion in my advanced reservations and the music was so loud we really had to raise our voices to hear each the over the music. The food and service was excellent however.
