Small Neighborhood Gem
The restaurant is a small and cozy neighborhood gem. The food and wine were excellent.

I found the Stonehome Wine
I found the Stonehome Wine Bar in a number of google searches for the best places to eat near the Barclay center. I had both the Italian and French read wine flights (so i was buzzing) and thought the wines were excellent. As i read in other reviews the food was good but the portions were small (this was fine for my wife but I have a bigger appetite) - i solved this by ordering a couple of small plates and cheese along with my main meal. We got there early (5:15) so it was not crowded but I can see the seating getting really tight when it is crowded. Typical NY, small tables, close quarters, etc. The service was very good, everyone was friendly and it was not pretentious at all (which wine bars tend to be). I'd go back.

We have been to Stonehome
We have been to Stonehome a number of times before BAM performances. We always enjoy our meal. The menu, though not extensive, has interesting items. The dishes are thought out and prepared well. The service is friendly and efficient.

Great when going to either
Great when going to either BAM venue. Worth the trip to Ft. Greene from Upper West Side.

I love the food here- kale
I love the food here- kale salad was a healthier version of Caesar salad, kale leaf was fresh. Not too much sauce on the juicy roasted duck I had as entrée.

Stonehome has been on my list
Stonehome has been on my list of restaurants to try for some time now. I'm glad I did. My experience surpassed any expectations. The customer service was outstanding (many restaurants could take note). The quality of the food was superb and portion size was just right. And of course, can't forget about the wine. My fiancé and I chose the tasting of 3 wines. The selection was top notch. We can't wait to return.

a great surprise
We went here mainly because it is close to BAM. What a marvelous surprise it was to find excellent, creative cooking going on.
As real foodies, my friend and I enjoyed the subtle flavors and beautiful plating. A great experience.

Have been here several times and always loved the food.
Lovely sitting in the garden a bit noisy inside.

great little wine bar!
Nice little place to meet friends before going to BAM. Love ordering flights of wine, having little plates of food and the general un-rushed atmosphere of the place. I liked that the waiter had asked if we had a 7:30 curtain, rather than me having to tell him. Service was terrific- Friendly, efficient, but not over bearing. Food was very good. Cute little patio seating in the back. Can't wait to go back.

Great pre-concert find!
We loved having a nice, relaxing dinner before our concert at the Barclays Center. The restaurant was only a few blocks away which made it very convenient. Loved our fish, and will definitely return.

Fort Green's Finest
For original food and a fantastic wine list, we always come to Stonehome. And it never fails to deliver the goods.

Love, Love, Love
I have literally passed this place a dozen times and didn't realize what a neighborhood gem it really is! in an area saturated with restaurants and bars, this is a MUST. the food and service was excellent. The ambience is unmatched in fort greene. I don't ever write reviews but wanted to acknowledge what a great place this is. I would definitely recommend it and come back often

I took my mom to this restaurant because we were both starving. Little did we know that it was famous for its wine selection! We both ordered a wine tasting... definitely the best wine I've ever had. We were absolutely in love with our food.. so much so that we ordered another glass of wine each and had the dessert to share! You truly can't go wrong with anything at this restaurant.. will definitely be heading back!

Great food and wine list
This place does have an extensive wine list and to our surprise, an excellent chef with daily specials like our squid ink pasta that was fantastic. They offer flights of wine for tasting, by the glass, or bottle of course. Exceptional service was available as well and earned this place a great rating.

Great food but slow service
Main courses were wonderful but dessert was MIA. With forty-five minutes to curtain time at BAM, we ordered dessert and coffee. Twenty-five minutes later, neither had arrived. We asked for our check and had to go without. Maybe the place gets too busy as the evening progresses. If you order dessert, keep reminding the waiter.

Best BAM Option
Finally there is a place I can look forward to going to when we have a BAM event. Everything was perfect - the octopus risotto, corn fritters and delicious Merlot; the service and ambience. And you can actually have a conversation with your dinner guests, unlike in so many restaurants these days, because the noise level is just right.

Perfect wine bar!
This was our second trip to Stonehome Wine Bar--we live around the corner--and both times it has been excellent. We were in a bit of a hurry because we had tickets for a show at BAM down the street, but they are well-versed in handling the pre-theater crowd and got all of our dishes out with plenty of time for us to enjoy them. The wine was delicious as you'd expect, and the list was comprehensive without being overwhelming. The menu is really nice too. What I like about it is that you can do anything from just a few snacks to a full three course meal. We opted for something in-between: cheese plate and appetizer, then a couple of small plates. Everything was really delicious (particularly the lamb ribs special). Definitely worth a visit!

Great Wine, Great Food
It's not a huge menu, but it is carefully put together, and everything on it seems to be very good. My only complaint on the night that we were there, it didn't seem all that well ventilated even though it was cool out that evening and the back door was open.

A wonderful night
We happen to be in the area and were looking for a romentic evening. We were not sure coming in but just a great evening from the first moment till the end.. we will come back

decent but not that special
Decent place for pre-theatre dining. Service was OK, a little perfunctionary. For a "wine bar" the selections (glass or bottle) were again OK, but not spectacularly interesting. (For a far more interesting list, see Casellula.) Waiter was not particularly informative about the wines even when asked. "It's good" is hardly informative about a wine! Food was above average--not terribly adventurous but well executed.

Great neighborhood find!
We visited Stonehome Wine Bar before seeing a show at the Barclays Center this weekend. The location was perfect...on a quieter street, not so close to all the traffic and chaos near the arena, but definitely within walking distance. The ambiance was modern, dimly lit, yet warm and inviting. The server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The wine menu was obviously quite extensive. However, the food menu was limited. Regardless, the food was delicious! Chose the apple and beet salad with peanuts for an appetizer and the grouper for my entrée. The portions were perfect, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Would definitely return!

Best option near BAM. Well prepared, creative food with great seasonal specials. Good wine list but not outstanding. Service generally good but not always perfectly attentive. Too noisy for serious conewrsation.

Always a pleasure
We came late, and there were some items missing from the menu at that hour, but everything we tried, be it appetizers, fish, vegetable, and meat dishes, were prepared beautifully. Not a bad dish on the menu! We are grateful for the kind service, and will definitely be back.

First time, not the last
So warm and welcoming. My first time at Stonehome but not my last. Not only was the food very good but the service was so special. My server knew the menu, had very good wine selections to go with my food and was genuinely interested in how I was enjoying both. I had the clam special -- in a white wine, Dijon broth with chorizo. Very good and lots of clams. The lamb ragu with pasta was a bit salty but the pasta was divine -- homemade perfectly! Definitely my "go to" place when going to BAM and at other times also.

Perfect for pre-BAM bite
Excellent friendly service, good food in a variety of plate sizes, and great wine, (and beer for those who prefer that).

Quiet place close to BAM
Stonehome Wine Bar is just down the street from BAM, and is a quiet alternative (with better food) than restaurants that are closer to the theater. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the wine list is extensive and interesting, and the menu was varied (we only wanted small plates, but there are entrees as well). All in all, a pleasant experience.

Lovely setting, especially
Lovely setting, especially the garden. Excellent wine selections. Food was very good but menu was rather small. My friend said the spaghetti was dry. My venison was perfect. Pasta special was outstanding. This was my second visit. Will definitely return.

Cozy and delicious
Stone home is a friendly neighborhood spot, yes bit we were amazed by the hake! Totally perfectly done. Salad and wine was also excellent and good value. Perfect pre - theater for BAM or TFANA!

Stonehome was the perfect location for a small family birthday gathering. We enjoyed great wine, amazing appetizers, and delicious desserts (the bread pudding was out of this world) with our mom who celebrated her 71st birthday. The staff was very accommodating and extremely helpful. This has become my favorite go to spot for great wine and atmosphere.

A find in Brooklyn's cultural
A find in Brooklyn's cultural district, this unassuming restaurant is a locavore centered food delight. The gem lettuce salad with chopped pumpkin seeds and Parmesan cheese made us swoon. Brilliant duck breast, flavorful kale and pumpkin flecked rsisotto.one of their refreshing Rhones. What more could one want on a snowy night in deepest Brooklyn.
