gluten free options good
We really enjoyed our dinner here. The food was excellent and the wine list extensive. I eat gluten free and they were very knowledgeable and able to accommodate me with a number of their dishes/

Don't let the location in
Don't let the location in a shopping Ctr put you off. The food was wonderful. The beet salad is a must and big enough to share. Wine list was nice and diverse. The fish was terrific and the chicken dish wonderful. Ask for fritz and you won't be disappointed.

The most reliable restaurant
The most reliable restaurant for a great meal with professional, perfect service. Have not had a bad experience here in 20 years.

Wonderful local food
Just found the Ranhco Pinot though I've visiting Scottsdale for years
The food is delicious and unique. The service is great. And I love
The Pinot flight, it gives me a chance to try several wines.

We sat on their patio, which
We sat on their patio, which wasn't the greatest location via next to the parking lot, but they had pots and plants to block that. It was nice because it was quieter than the restaurant, which turned out to be good because my husband has trouble hearing. We were not greeted very promptly on the patio, but then as the night went on it was okay.

Rancho Pinot, recommended
Rancho Pinot, recommended by a client of mine from Wyoming, was well worth it. The service and food was outstanding! We'll be back.
4/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
The staff was crazy good. They remembered names, picked up our friends nickname, sent out a birthday dessert with nickname on the plate. We had 4 out of town guests, well seasoned foodies, who said it might well be the best restaurant in Phoenix. We are going back on Saturday!!!
4/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
Rancho Pinot still a gem
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner... menu is fantastic... staff very attentive..... only complaint is that it was warm.... need to cool the place down.... but wonderful flavors and options.

Don't let the retail location put you off. This restaurant has been around for 20 years and has a great menu. Had a great flat iron steak paired with a Turley Zin. You can see why the locals keep coming back - just a great comfortable feel. We will be back!

Creative, delicious food with attentive, friendly service and nicely spaced tables. Not inexpensive, but definitely value for the money.

Rancho Pinot, consistent excellence
My wife and I have dined at Rancho Pinot about ten times per year for several years. Food and service are always excellent. The decor is attractive and interesting, with its western motif. Many menu items change with the seasons to take advantage of fresh ingredients. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts are innovative - often memorable. Parking is available in front of the restaurant, and at its rear.
5/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
Arriving at the restaurant the staff and owner made me feel welcome
And gave me a birthday boy badge to wear. The service, food, wine and
Ambiance was spot on . Our server was knowledgeable and his
Recommendations were perfect. What a great night. Everyone is looking
Forward to a return visit.

An enjoyable evening
Watched "Check please Arizona" and felt Rancho Pinot was worth a try and I was not disappointed. Great food, exceptional service and many options on the menu. Nonnie's Sunday Chicken was rich and tasty and nothing like I have ever tasted. Others enjoyed the pork and lamb chops --cooked to perfection. This was a great place to meet up with old friends, have an enjoyable conversation, and an excellent meal. A little pricy but worth it.

Always a cut above!
We have never had a bad experience at Rancho Pinot. Service, food, and ambiance are terrific. One of best in the valley year after year - - a must stop.
5/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
The food, service, wine, and experience are first class. I have been eating at RPG since I moved here from Europe in 2006 and recommend it to all; enjoy.
5/17/2013 4:00:00 PM
This is the most amazing restaurant. We celebrated my birthday Tuesday night with 6 others and had a fabulous dinner. The service was outstanding and the food couldn't be better.
I hope we get many more times of dining at this fine restaurant.
5/20/2013 4:00:00 PM
We went for dinner to celebrate my recent job promotion and chose the restaurant after seeing it on the PBS show "Check Please Arizona". The food was great! The squash blossoms with goat cheese were extremely tasty, and I tried the grilled swordfish for my entree and enjoyed every bite! My favorite was the cheesecake for dessert!! The staff was so kind to write "Congratulations" on the plate and the dessert was phenomenal! We all had a great time and plan to visit again!

Dress up, or don't - it doesn't matter at Rancho. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted warmly and genuinely by one of the Staff. If you've been there before, chances are, they will remember your name! The food and wine list MORE than make up for any lack of charm in the decor. The food is always good - period. The wine list is long and wonderful if you are an oenophile. Owner/Chef, Chrysta, makes good use of the best seasonal options available. She does a peach salad that is outrageously wonderful - when the peaches are at their best. I had the watermelon/feta salad this time. It couldn't have been better. I give Rancho 5 stars for consistency, service and a favorite "go to" spot.

Enjoyed the food and atmosphere... I am a former restauranteur from NYC and this place fares very well... Shrimp in our pasta dish was cooked properly... great tasting and kitchen had no issue with handling our special order... Service was what you would find at some of the finest places in NYC... attentive and cordial. The staff make you feel as though you are a VIP..
5/31/2013 4:00:00 PM
the food was wonderful. My
the food was wonderful. My husband had the flank steak ($29). I had the rockshrimp pasta($17). The prices have increased since our last visit. We had the Pinot Noir Flight, 3 half glasses for $19. We enjoyed the selection, but would have prefered if the restaurant served the flight in nice red-wine glasses, instead of tiny glasses. Although it makes the half glass look like more of a pour, the glass decreased the enjoyment of the wine. You could not swirl it and enjoy the nose of the wine.
The dessert (dark chocolate cashew cake) was divine. Excellent.
We will definitely go back, but will be more prepared for the bill. ($92, includes tip)

Best food in the valley
Chef/Owner Chrysa Robertson maintains the highest standards for taste and quality. You'll never find a wilted leaf in the salad, the food is always fresh, everything is made to order, the menu is constantly changing, and the food is always made both for taste and health. Rancho Pinot has been my favorite restaurant for more than 15 years.
6/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Excellent food and service, some of the best that I have ever had. However, the noise level and the price of the items will prevent us from a return visit. I would recommend this restaurant to those of moderate incomes for special occasions, like an anniversary or birthday. For those of higher incomes who dine regularly, this restaurant is a good find, with the food well presented, enjoyable but not over-sized portions, a varied wine list, and an enticing dessert selection.

Great food, old decor!!
Haven't been here in quite some time. The decor and pictures on the wall are the same for many, many years. Maybe time for an update!! The food is still excellent and have already recommended the restaurant to friends. We won't wait so long to go back.

Best Restaurant in Phoenix
This is consistently the best dining experience in the area. The food is exceptional. The shaved summer squash salad was a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The pan roasted fish was sublime, with fresh fava beans and other greens offsetting the flavor of the expertly cooked fish. And don't miss the strawberry shortcake -- it is the best you have ever tasted. We were so impressed that someone from Rancho Pinot called us shortly before our reservation to inform us about a traffic issue due to construction. How considerate is that? We LOVE this place.

Wonderful evening! Food, service, excellent. We'll be back.

Rancho Pinot is the best!
Getting ready to celebrate it's 20th Anniversary, Rancho Pinot is just fabulous. The food is always amazing, the menu changes periodically to reflect current available fresh foods and what strikes Chef Chrysa's fancy. I have been dining at Rancho Pinot since 1996 and can't think of a better place to eat. I hesitate to say that Chef Chrysa patronizes the local organic farmers and is a proponent of organic sustainable food because that often implies a certain style of food and atmosphere that just does not apply to Rancho Pinot. Selections range from an incredible fire grilled ribeye to fresh fish, handmade pasta, grilled lamb or pork, and amazing luscious salads, appetizers, and vegetarian selections. They have excellent wines too.

Everything single thing was fabulous at this place. Wanted a sweet martini and the bartender made the best Watermelon Martini I have ever had. It was not on the menu either. Had two.
The food was fabulous and the staff was friendly and fun. Will definitely go back again soon.

Rancho Pinot: Outstanding Dining
My wife and I have enjoyed our dinners at Rancho Pinot probably a couple dozen times. The decor is comfortable. Service is excellent. The foods are innovative and delicious. It tends to be for adults, not for children.

One of my top 10 restaurants
This restaurant, tucked away behind Trader Joe's at Lincoln and Scottsdale Rd. is always a treat. This is "Foodie Food" and we always know we will have a great dinner.

We made this reservation last minute, and they were able to accommodate our fairly large group. We were thrilled, and even added a few extra people. The service was incredible and the food is always consistent. Our fav's were the gnocchi and the shaved squash salad :-)

Rancho Pinot is our favorite foodie restaurant in Scottsdale. Excellent food, competent service, and casual elegance to enhance any dining event. And perfect for a special day splurge!!!
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. This is as it should be, of course, since the place is pretty pricey. The selection on salads seemed a little thin. But the selection on entrees and desserts was great. We didn't recognize any of the labels on the wine list (in the past I seem to recall we were familiar with at least a few of the white wine labels) - but the lower-priced bottle we selected was very nice. Thanks!

We discovered this gem several years ago on a spring training visit. We subsequently bought a second home in Scottsdale and Ranch Pinot is a must every time we are in town.

Our Favorite Scottsdale Restaurant
We are New Yorkers and every time we visit Scottsdale, Rancho Pinot is a must. We love the ambiance and the decor and the service is always outstanding. The staff members are knowledgeable and easy going. The wine list is outstanding. The food is always perfectly presented. The hardest part is deciding what to order. Don't miss this experience! We can't wait to go back.

Rancho Pinot has been one of our favorite restaurants in Scottsdale since we moved here 2.5 years ago. Just had dinner there again with friends new to Scottsdale and all four of us were totally delighted with the outstanding food and service.
Rancho Pinot continues it's outstanding tradition of providing wonderful food in a relaxing atmosphere.

Best Saturday dinner
To say this is a gem of a restaurant is an understatement. The food is phenomenal which is matched by the attentive wait staff.
The pate was delicious. A smooth blend of pork and duck which left you wanting more. The grilled flat iron steak was cooked to a perfect medium with a great char to the outside. It was completed with delicious dessert. If you want to impress this is the place that will grab you accolades for choice.

Four girlfriends and I were visiting Phoenix for the weekend and chose this one based on reviews from various websites. We are admittedly a picky group of eaters but we all found a dish we really enjoyed!
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Whenever we have the opportunity to have dinner at Rancho Pinot Grill I am always impressed with the creative, new items on their menu. When Chrysa puts a new pasta dish on the menu I always try it, no matter what it is. They remind me of my dinners in Rome, Siena and Positano. This last time at Rancho we started with grilled butternut squash with lentils and fried squash blossoms stuffed with goat cheese. I remember having the squash blossoms at Tulio's in Rome. We then split the pasta dish of fettuccine with fresh wild chanterelles and other wild mushrooms in a cream sauce. We also had a side dish of Brussels sprouts with apple bacon and turnips. To die for! This is foodie heaven.

Don't let the location deter you
In town for business, we wanted to try a "local" place for dinner and what a great choice. Friendly, informed staff, fresh and varied menu choices. "Nonnie's Sunday Chicken" was amazing, a must-have. Located in a strip center, it seems a little out of place, but get in there and try it!
10/9/2013 5:00:00 PM
Great Service Great food!
Each time we dine there it is fantastic; you can't go wrong...from the famous Nonnie's chicken to flat iron steak, the menu pleases. Great for romance or a quiet dinner in a great ambience. Crowd pleaser!

A Great Rediscovery
We hadn't been to Rancho Pinot Grill for a very long time but decided to spend husband's birthday there. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we felt cared for. We were seated at a lovely table and greeted by our server, Jillian. She and all the other staff members made our fantastic dinner memorable. I am a vegetarian and Jillian helped me settle on the combination of four sides. Each of the vegetables were beautifully roasted and spiced, and the crunchy wheatberry patty gave a nice contrast. Husband had the soup special, Nonni's chicken, and we shared a fab apple walnut cake. Bravo!

Wonderful food and great service
Visited for the first time as a double date. Great time. Cozy southwest decor, tasty food, attentive service, and fun company. Enjoyed the gnocchi with lamb bolognese. Hubby had the flat iron steak with Blue cheese. Great dessert was toffee date bread.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Jillian was our server. She enhances the entire dining experience. Best server we've ever had anywhere. We used to go to Tarbells, now we will dine more frequently at Rancho Pinot because of Jillian.

Always one of the best!
Had a friend in from the Midwest, and wanted her to see what really good restaurants in AZ taste and feel like. Everything was spectacular, as always! The staff is so well trained and friendly; the menu is always fresh and inventive; the food never ever disappoints. It was a delightful evening, and I'm so pleased to see that Rancho is open for lunch now- will be trying it soon!

We shall return!
Comfortable, friendly Arizona cattle ranch atmosphere that was unpretentious, unrushed and relaxed. We enjoyed being able to focus on our conversation and camaraderie in this ambient setting. Food was outstanding with appealing mix of flavors, textures, and presentation by attentive but not intrusive staff. Despite initial disappointment at the unavailability of a favored menu item (the chef rejected a delivered entree supply as substandard - thank you!), we were delighted by our second choices. Extensive wine list is noteworthy. Our reason for celebration was magnified by our dining experience! Thanks for the memory. We shall return.
