Normally Great Service
As local residents we have eaten at Le Pavillon several times. We have always had a good experience, but during this particular visit the service was very slow. It was a 2+ hour dining experience with most of that time attributed to waiting for our main entree to arrive. Still a really good place and we enjoyed it.

I had been told many times
I had been told many times about this little local restaurant by my mom, a local of this town nearly 45 years or so. Fantastic place to eat!

An exceptional experience
An exceptional experience - the rack of lamb was one of the best ever! Friendly professional staff. Several rooms create an intimate atmosphere, and control the noise level.

It depends on what you seek...
The food was good, the menu varied, and the service was competent. The main dining room is nicely decorated in a traditional way. We had a group of six and we were seated in a room by ourselves with a large, round, table. Perfect! But if we were just two or four people - the slow arrival of food might have been unbearable if we were not good at sustained conversation!

Excellent after-theater dinner
After an evening show, my wife and I went to one of the few restaurants still open in St. Augustine for a full meal at 9:30 PM. The background music was pleasant but not obtrusive - something a lot of other restaurants should emulate. The wine list was not huge, but there was sufficient variety, and the two glasses we had (one Riesling and one Merlot/Cabernet blend) were excellent at $8 each. Dinner included a very fresh salad - just greens, but with a very nice dressing. We had veal Oscar, and found it among the best we have ever had - two cutlets cooked properly, with tasty crab meat and white asparagus in the sauce. We also tried the chicken curry - very mild with two breast cutlets and great accompanying rice, banana, and chutney.

one of our favorite restaurants,
one of our favorite restaurants, it never disappoints, Located in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, features french/german cuisine. I had the rack of lamb, Cooked to perfection! One of the specials that night was a filet with bernaise sauce. My husband ate every bit! Trout was selected by one of our guests for the evening and the chicken curry was selected by his wife. Everything was wonderful. And don't forget dessert!
Try this restaurant...you won't be disappointed!

consistently delivers high quality
We have dined at Le Pavillion many times over the years and the cuisine never disappoints. It is our "go to" restaurant when we are in town because we can always depend upon the food being well prepared, the service being efficient and the ambiance being gracious. We have found it terrific for intimate dining and have reserved private dining room for family affairs - they now have menu items for children, so all are happy.

Everything about this restaurant made it one of our all time favorites. The inside décor is quaint and homey...the staff is extremely friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food is some the best German and French that we've ever enjoyed. The menu has a nice variety. And the Sangria is the best I've ever tasted. Casual dining at its best!

Great traditional German food
The unexpected--sauerbraten in st augustine. Excellent service, traditional German food, good quality, quiet. The service was excellent, and the prices very reasonable. Good quality, fresh ingredients.

The food was outstanding. I had the poached salmon with bernaise sauce and my husband the grouper. They were cooked to perfection. The waitress we had was great with bringing us our food and anything else we needed but she was not very friendly. She was rather cold. The young men that helped serve and clear our plates had wonderful attitudes and were very polite. They made the evening very pleasant for my husband and myself. This is one of our favorite restaurants and we would definitely visit it again. We just hope we have a more pleasant waitress.

Nice restaurant, good food, great atmosphere - however $5.50 for a Beck's beer is outrageous.

Since moving to St Augustine over 10 years ago, we have dined here many times. Next year tho I will skip the month of October as the accordion music is too much in this small building. I had forgotten this from last year. Last year they sat us in the back room but this year we were not given the option. It was not possible to carry on a conversation. We like this restaurant because it is quiet and the food is excellent. Will continue to go there just not during October.

Portion Choice Large or Medium
This family owned restaurant has its own parking lot! You don't have to fight for a spot like you do in Old Town St. Augustine. I have been to many restaurants in the area and loved this place for its old time feel (The 1960's Sinatra era, the family has owned it since 1977 and is now run by the second generation). They have a very good wine list, great food and you can choose to order a smaller dinner portion for a small fee. The food is in the German-style and not greasy like many German food can be. The salad with house dressing was great with the Bibb lettuce and the Chocolate Mousse for dessert was just enough when my partner and I shared it. Every time I go back to St. Augustine I will definitely return to Le Pavillon.

great restaurant, good variety on the menu by type of food and price. The service was great and we were not rushed even though it was a busy night. two plusses- they take resevations and have a large parking lot. easy walking from there to old town, the fort as well as some interesting shops in the area of the restaurant.

We enjoyed our dinner at the Le Pavillon. This restaurant is just north of the center of the historic district of St. Augustine, and we sat looking out at the street where the horse-drawn wagons filled with tourist passed by. We loved the romantic atmosphere of the dining room that was decorated for the Christmas season. We both ordered the bouillaisse which was filled with fresh seafood in the most delicious combination! Wonderful dish. The service was very good, and we appreciated not being rushed through our meal. We ended our delicious meal with cappucicino. I would definitely recommend this historic restaurant to anyone wanting a quiet, romantic dinner with an historic flair and delicious food at a moderate price.
