Great little spot. Not very much indoor seating, but I can't wait to go back for breakfast and get a cappuccino and sit outside. Great service

Excellent french bistro food
Excellent french bistro food with an extensive wine list of French wines in an intimate setting. What's not to like?

This is like going to the French countryside for dinner. Great concepts on a plate. Friendly service. Outstanding value.

Perfect spot for dinner before
Perfect spot for dinner before an event at the Palace of Fine Arts. Escargot was nicely seasoned. The lamb stew and beef bourguingnon were both delicious! Loved the nice, big wine glasses, too.

We were looking for a simple, french meal, and we found it. Torn from the back streets of Paris, Baker Street Bistro is a simple place to get basic food. A fresh salad of decent mixed greens, a great bowl of mussels provencale, a lamb stew, some bread. A short but quality list of wines (mostly french), and a reasonably efficient and knowledgeable wait staff (french, of course). This is a solid "anytime" restaurant.

Excellent small neighborhood bistro
The food was excellent. It was hard to decide but we had the Provencal Mussels and the lamb stew. The mussels were just excellent and the lamb stew was great comfort food on a chilly evening. If we lived in the area, we would be frequent diners.

Years of the best experience.
We've been coming close to 20 years and love Baker Street Bistro. As always, everything was completely delicious and service was marked by the highest level of professionalism. Each dish was created with every detail in mind and the flavors were developed expertly and exactly. Our servers were helpful, gracious and attentive. We had a beautiful evening.

As first timers at this restaurant,
As first timers at this restaurant, we didn't know what to expect but when we left we said we would definitely visit again.
The Moules Provencale (avec frites) was probably the best I've ever had. I had the halibut as my entree and it was excellent. The pork loin that came with the prix fixe was a little dry though.
The desserts were all excellent (apple tarte - prix fixe, the chocolate mousse & profiteroles).
The service was only "very good" though. There were more patrons than the 2 servers could handle so it was sometimes difficult to get their attention.

We will return!
We had a delightful dinner on a warm San Francisco evening. From an excellent reasonably priced wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert we had a great meal with very good service. The pâté appetizer is rich and generously portioned so sharing was in order. Our entrees included succulent mussels with fabulous fries, a heavenly halibut dish and tasty lamb chops. We stayed for dessert and that was well worth the calories - apple tarte with precise thin cut slices of apple was both beautiful and yummy. The balsamic strawberries exceeded expectations. Plus, the coffee was also aromatic. If you bring wine corkage is waived if you also buy a bottle, which we did. We will return.

Lovely Neighborhood Bistro
Even though Baker Street Bistro is on the other side of town from where we live, whenever friends come into town, it is where we bring them. BSB has a very lovely, European ambiance that has the feeling of being in Paris. The wait service is friendly and courteous and the level of service remains constant. Everything on the menu is worth trying - I've never had a bad experience there.

Neighborhood bistro treat
We wanted a neighborhood restaurant without dealing with street scene crowds. This fit the bill, the service was excellent, and the food decidedly French bistro!

A great little neighborhood french restaurant with good food and affordable prices.

Went here for the first time in a couple years. Still excellent. Pleasantly surprised by the ability of the restaurant to continue to serve very good food for an affordable price. And to present it well.

cozy, reliable neighborhood bistro
Been going there for years off and on. Pleasant, reasonable, good French classics, decent wine list, a little noisy, but what isn't these days?

solidly dependable, dishes
solidly dependable, dishes strongly traditional and well made. wines have become a bit pricy for what you get, but still reasonable compared to like restaurants. go for what you want and anticipate not to be startled or surprised. repeatable and we do.

Great spot just outside Presidio
Great little neighborhood gem. Food, and service, were both very good. But this is not a late night spot, we were last there at 9pm. But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the food!

A tucked away gem
Although this little French bistro has been on Baker Street for over 20 years, we had not really heard of it and were looking for a "new" place to take a friend. We were all delighted. The service is welcoming and friendly. The food is nicely done and the desserts were all exceptional. The price was reasonable. (I brought a bottle of wine and payed the $20 corkage. However, the wine list was a thoughtful and well considered one for a small restaurant). I would not consider Baker St Bistro to be a "special occasion" dining experience. Rather, it is a pleasant, delicious and unhurried way to spend an evening, in true French bistro style.

Great neighborhood restaurant
The Baker Street Bistro is located on a quiet street in Cow Hollow-Marina neighborhood. It is our go to place for a relaxing evening, good food and excellent service. While waiting for friends the other night, we enjoyed a glass of wine at an outside table before dining inside. One evening we arrived early enough for the prix fixe- what value! Soup, salad, entree and dessert. The mushroom soup was delicious as well as being a generous portion. My chicken was poached served on a bed of spinach with mashed potatoes. Dessert was chocolate mousse. The salmon and halibut are well prepared.

A real favorite!
The Bistro is our go to destination whenever we are visiting the Presidio. We love the neighborhood feel and the varied menu . Service is warm and responsive without being hovering. This visit was part of our wedding anniversary day at the Presidio. A delightful dining experience always at the Baker st. bistro!

We come to the Baker Street Bistro about once a year before attending a performance at the Palace of Fine Arts. The meal is always delicious, and the ambiance charming. A great find.

Love the escargots
We've been here several times and keep coming back for the delicious escargots and mussels. Our nephew had duck confit which he pronounced very good. Husband loved the lamb chops. We shared a lovely dessert - strawberries with balsamic vinegar and pepper, served with vanilla ice cream.

The best of France
The menu was superb and included all our favorites from our many trips to France. Food preparation and presentation was excellent and service was attentive and rapid. They were very accommodating to let us in before opening time. Street parking was available at 5:30 pm. We had just spent the summer in France and this was a lovely way to extend our vacation. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Cozy private hideaway
We were looking for a quiet French restaurant away from the hustle bad bustle of down San Fran!
We found this small neighborhood gem with great food and romantic ambiance.
Well worth the cab ride from Market St and would recommend for a couple looking for a private getaway!

we used to go but have not been back in ten years and was very pleased to discover it was just the same. Excellent food and terrific service.

Always a pleasant eve
...and can't beat the steak frites. Also appreciate one can taste the wine before investing in the full glass.

A friend recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed! They were super attentive and the food was very good. It was a beautiful little intimate cafe experience. Suffice to say, I was halfway expecting them not to pay attention to my email request to have a glass of merlot for my husband BUT they had it ready to go! I was SO impressed. We will return again for sure! oh they also called a cab for us since we weren't really sure where to go to get one since it seems to be tucked away into a neighborhood. NICE.
