We had a wonderful dinner at Pago. The restaurant was recommended to us and surpassed all expectations.

This was my first time for brunch last Sunday, I generally go to Pago for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. Menu was simple but good, good hot tea as well! (I am not a coffee drinker). I was there with my husband and my baby. There was not much room for the car seat if the restaurant would have been full it could have been a hassle but fortunately the table next to me was not taken. The service was great too, friendly and knowledgable.

Great food, service, and ambience!
We recently entertained guests from Europe at Pago. They enjoyed the experience and commented on great tasting food and wonderful presentation. Thanks, Pago!

A delight in so many ways
Every aspect of our dinner at Pago was just right -- casual and yet artistic atmosphere, positive staff attitude and attentiveness, innovative cocktail selection, and food that was fabulous from beginning to end. We loved the small size of the restaurant, as you truly feel like a welcome guest, not just a patron at a table number. The staff is passionate about the menu (rightfully so) and happy to answer questions and accommodate dietary needs. An excellent experience all around -- we are likely to become "regulars" -- and we look forward to inspired seasonal offerings to come...!

Good Foody Place on 9 th and 9th
Tiny place, seating comfortable but close. Not for groups over 4.
Service very good, especially by SLC standards. Nice wine list. Nice bar selection.
Creative and well made culinary work, but not crazy just for the sake of being out there.
Sort of 21st century EuroAmericanBayArea style, emphasizing local food sources

Our new little book group had an excellent time at Brunch!

I took my mom out to lunch on Monday and had a wonderful experience. I live a restaurant that has some passion for what they do.

Been to Pago many times for sunday brunch and their awesome bloody Mary's. My wife and recently went for supper and had the lamb and steak and they were both very good, but the lamb was amazing and we are going back again just for the lamb.

Salt Lake's BEST Restaurant.
OK, this is my new favorite restaurant. I had not heard of it (even though I owned a store in the same place 25 years ago!) and a friend took me there saying how great it is. I had lamb chops and they were fantastic, the beet salad was the best and beautiful, and the apricot pie a la mode was divine. Truly, everything was wonderful. AND the presentation is beautiful. It's what you would expect from a high-end restaurant with medium prices. Service was excellent. It can get a little loud in there, although the booth makes it private. A must try! It was noisy because many from the Outdoor Retailer show were there, they all knew each other and were having fun, so it was good energy.

Sure Bet for a Great Meal
Our experiences at Pago are always consistent. The food is delicious and the vibe is comfortable. Dave our waiter, who we have had several times, is exceptional. His knowledge and explanation of the menu and specials is on point, he is extremely attentive yet knows how to read body language to serve you just how you need to be for the perfect dinner.
Most recent delectable treat was the cold honeydew soup - it had a little basil and coconut milk. Delicious on a warm summer night.

Great service. Great food.
Great service. Great food. They made special accommodations when they didn't really need to. Awesome spot!

Never disappointing, Pago served us another wonderful meal.

Good food, although some of
Good food, although some of the dishes lacked seasoning. The mixologist rocked! He helped me pair a great wine with dinner, and paid close attention to detail when mixing the cocktails.

We dined at Pago as a group of 6. We started out with 2 cheese plates and some ravioli. The cheese plates were delicious, but the ravioli was quite bland. 3 of us ordered the Salmon, 1 ordered the pork, 1 had the steak, and 1 had the lamb. All the entrees were extraordinarily great. We finished off our meal with a couple of apricot pies and the chocolate dessert. They were good, but not great. We will be back.

Small place and menu, good food
Seated outside in a sidewalk corral--not the nicest ambiance or furniture, but a pleasant evening (although windy--had to tuck in my napkin). Good service, small menu, and a wine list that emphasizes small producers but mainly European, so the huge carbon footprint of their wine list undercuts the "local" argument of their food sourcing. Too bad, because there are so many good California/Oregon/Washington wines. Food is well prepared and innovative, very good--we shared tastes of our four different dishes plus appetizers.

Dried out entree
My lamb came cooked incorrectly, the waitress was very nice and corrected the mistake. Unfortunately, they just threw the same piece of meat back on to cook and it totally dried out the lamb. If there had been more sauce, it probably would have been a bit more bearable. Overall, the atmosphere is always great, the servers are attentive and friendly. I was just a bit said over my lamb dish. The first time I went there, I would have given everything a five-star, including the lamb.

Susan's Birthday Dinner
Everything was wonderful. Our server Dave was superior in helping us celebrate our special occasion. The Rose Wine, food and service was 5 star. Thank you
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was fantastic! I had the gazpacho and ribeye steak. Both were creatively and tastily prepared.

Really good food/ Just okay service
First off, the food was spectacular. The peach scones and fig jam to start were wonderful and the Utah Trout is an incredible brunch dish. So creamy and delicious. I shared the brownie dessert with friends and it was the perfect ending. The service unfortunately was not up to par. The server seemed distracted and was not very friendly. He forgot plates and cream for the coffee to begin. When we finally flagged him down for these things, he didn't apologize but just ran off frantically. I felt like we were putting him out anytime we had to ask for anything. But, in his defense it was really busy. I would still return because the food was so good.

Cozy atmosphere, tasty dinner
We attended Pago as a party of 6 and all of our salads, entrees and desserts were just right--from the gnocchi, the pork chop to the sous vide chicken, the flavors were perfectly well rounded.

Great service and fun atmosphere
Waiter was informative and fun. Was great to hear the food was locally grown. Portions were perfect and the selection was small but very well done.
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very good service. Excellent food and a very nice atmosphere for a Sunday morning. The scones are amazing!

Simply great food, locally
Simply great food, locally sourced, exemplary in preparation and artful in presentation. Not pretentious, simply good. Fun place to come to and enjoy great food.

Overall great restaurant. Our food was good but not great. A few more options would be nice
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Try the Burger
If you haven't tried Pago's burger, you must. It may just be the best burger in Utah and it happens to be coupled with truffle garlic fries that are equally amazing.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Unique dishes and deliciuos!
My coleague and were in town for business. I travel a lot for work and dislike dining at chain restaurants. Salmon main was excellent and the fig appetizer was great! My coleague had the beet app and said it was amazing and he also had the salmon.

A goto for entertaining out-of-town
Pago is one of our Go-To lunch spots for candidates visiting from out of town. Great food, Great service, perfect ambiance.

Farm to Table
This place is about really great food that you can trust. That's no small thing today. You don't have to ask the waiter if the fish is wild-caught. They don't serve any other kind. The menu is seasonal. I had the best chicken I think I ever had the other night, though one small criticism is that the crouton salad accompaniment was blah and a disappointment compared to the superb chicken. It was a cold night and the side should have been hot and something autumnal. The gnocchi was great. The spiced pear tart with creme fraiche was absolutely killer. It's pear season, so once that's over you're out of luck. Hurry in!

Wonderful dining experience!
We were fivising from out of town and found Pago thru a Guardian review. The cozy atmosphere is very inviting, the beverage program is spot on and the food is as good as anything we can find in the DC metro area. Very pleased and love the mountain time zone relaxed yet professional vibe. Highly recommended!!!

Almost an A+ experience
My husband and I have been favorably impressed by the imaginative and flavorful dishes Pago prepares both time we visited. We have no complaints about the service. We visited the restaurant shortly after it opened about four years ago then again last weekend. We hoped by this year they would have at least turned down the volume on the CDs, which at any volume are not conducive to a quiet and relaxed evening. Unfortunately for us,that was not the case and we are not likely to return soon. That said, the potato and leek soup was remarkably rich, with a garnish of leeks, crisp fried and confit. My husband enjoyed his hamburger and the trout fillet was plumper than average.Portions were ample and prices seemed fair for the quality of the ingredients.

Wonderful local restaurant!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal there. In spite of it being a Saturday night, we were treated to marvelous, personalized service. The menu had many great choices, but we both settled on the rib eye, something bold enough to match our wine selection. We did start with the cheese course, which was excellent, but should have saved it for the end, it was decadent enough to be dessert. Very enjoyable meal, will return again.

Keeps getting better
We ate at Pago for lunch/brunch on a Sunday. It was pretty crowded, so luckily we made a reservation. Our group ordered the burger with fried egg and fried potatoes; eggs benedict; trout with eggs, grits, and bacon; dutch pancake with apple compote; caesar salad. Everything was very delicious, although the use of kale in the caesar was unexpected. Kale is very leafy, so the salad was a bit overdressed (could have used half the dressing)-- it would have been very pungent to eat if that was your main course. The dutch pancake might have been perfect if a tablespoon of maple syrup was drizzled on. The brownie dessert was ok (too much going on with mint sauce, lavender gel; plating was sloppy). Overall, a very delicious meal!

Quaint with amazing food
The farm to table menu is excellent, and the ingredients are well thought out. The decor is unique with brick and wood in what they call Eco chic. All in all a very pleasant experience

Pago is a gem of a find within the 9th & 9th District. Pago, adds it's local flavor with it's unique menus for brunch, lunch or dinner. For along time I had heard outstanding reviews from my friends on Facebook about Pago. So an opportunity arose for a friend and I to go out to lunch and we choose Pago.
We were greeted by the hostess, the server was tremendous and very helpful regarding menu items, ambiance of the restaurant relaxing and able to have a good conversation, and freshness of the food was fantastic. Both my friend and I had the Steak sandwich with french fries. The sandwich was delicious and flavorful with thick slices of steak and cheese, the french fries were crispy and crunchy with spices. Dinner and brunch for my next meal.

This was my first visit. On
This was my first visit. On the spot service. Staff highly versed on the menu. We asked for a non-alcoholic minty drink and the waiter concocted up a wonderful one. They really go the extra mile. Very good food and nicely presented. Three of us thought the trout main course was a bit too salty. It was perfectly cooked. I would avoid sitting in the boothes due to the hard, upright backs. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

We LOVE this place!
Great food, great service, cozy atmosphere, and an excellent wine list. We don't get to Pago's often enough but every time we have has been memorable.
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Pago has certainly earned its praise - it's quickly becoming known as one of the best places to eat in SLC.
The restaurant is small, but the ambiance is quite good. The mix of contemporary and traditional decor is a nice mix. The service was excellent, and the food was superb! Try the latest addition to the menu - the trout. Wonderful! And the gnocchi was great as well. Although pricey enough to not make it a weekly choice, it's definitely worth the money when wanting to go someplace special.

Good food, great service
Being a bit of a food snob from the pacific northwest I was a little uncertain about how SLC would shape up. Pago did not disappoint. The service was great, the wine list was solid, and the food was really top notch. I ate probably one of the best burgers I've ever had (it even beat Flip Burger in Atlanta). The frites (parmesan, truffle) were ridiclously amazing. Some of the appetizers we had were just ok, being a bit over worked and a little too complicated for my liking. My fellow companions also quite enjoyed their meals. I would return.

Great food and service
Heard so much about Pago and finally decided to give it a try. Our server made excellent recommendations and was the right mix of friendly and professional. Everyone in our group of four was happy with their selections. The only "meh' was the dessert. We got the bread pudding and the s'mores. In relationship to the rest of the meal, they were just ok. One suggestion..Make reservations. We are glad we did and we will be back.
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Once again, Pago delivers. Gourmet Hot Pockets, Bacon Carmel Cinnamon Roll, Eggs benedict, Bloody Mary's and great service. Hands down, best brunch in SLC.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Service was great, cheese trey and lettuce wedge was delicious. Will be going back for sure!

I went on a first date at Pago this past Sunday and it was perfect! Nice atmosphere. A yummy Pinot Noir. Great appetizers and a really tasty Gnocchi dish that we shared. I don't think I'll be seeing the girl again but I'll be back for more Pago! Oh and the service was very good!

Farm Fresh Sunday Brunch
Enjoyed Sunday brunch w/ my husband couple Sundays ago! Menu was limited, but the food was great and offered at a reasonable price!
Would go back...waitstaff was very knowledgeable about menu items which is a plus!

Pago never disappoints!
This was our second trip to Pago, the other had been for dinner a few months ago. The food and service is consistently excellent and it's become one of our preferred restaurants. Pago is great for a relaxing brunch with friends or for a celebratory dinner. If you do go for dinner, visit with their sommelier, Evan Lewandowski. He'll help you pick out a wonderful wine to go with your meal.

Worth the trip
Off the beaten path, but an interesting menu, good food well prepared with friendly service. Wonderful cheese plate. Razor clams unusual and good and excellent lamb chops.
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
We were given a gift card to use at Pago so we decided to try it out with friends one night. It is a small neighborhood establishment that doesn't look like much on the outside but what awaits on the inside was an energetic vibe throughout the restaurant and fabulous tasting food. The presentation of plates
and service were excellent although if you want a romantic quiet meal I would suggest something a little less frenetic as the kitchen is open and lots of craziness going on which in my opinion adds to the charm. Make sure to have a reservation on the weekends or you'll wait. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. We will definitely be back.

Pago doesn't disappoint
A Salt lake favorite. Always excellent. Drop what you're doing and go now

Jewel in the 9th x 9th St Crown!
Knowledgeable and very attentive server, surprising, innovative, thoughtful food, clearly great fresh ingredients, intimate and smart ambiance. Very meat-heavy, however--needs more vegetarian entree options. Pricey but well worth it. Be sure to get reservations well ahead!
