Very good, but did expect more...
Ok don't let the title get you down...this is a solid restaurant with very good food. Not "amazing-OMG-this-is-the-best-I've-had" but very good.
Service - this is why this place is a standout to me. It's not the great location, and snappy decor. It's not that Iron Chef Zakarian runs the place (although that could be part)...the staff, from the gal at the front door to the sommelier, waitstaff and everyone in between, we're outstanding!!

The food was wonderful and the service was attentive but not intrusive. The smaller size of the dining room really contributed to calm , unhurried atmosphere.

This iron chef did not disappoint!!
My wife and I make a point of visiting the restaurants of the celebrity chefs that we see on the Food Network and Cooking Channel as well as other outlets. I must say that many of them have disappointed. This was not the case with Zakarian's Lamb's Club. Geofrey Zakarian is one of my personal favorites and I was so excited when he won the next Iron Chef and equally excited to visit his restaurant. I am a huge fan of his creativity and unique flavor profiles and hoped to find the same at Lamb's. I was not disappointed at all. The food was amazing!! The décor and ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and the service was splendid! The duck melted in my mouth and the double chocolate crème brulee was RIDICULOUS. I licked the bowl.

I enjoyed the Lamb'sClub- the food was excellent, the service was attentive but not overdone, and the dining room was pleasant in decor and ambiance.
The wines were VERY pricey, and the cost detracted from the overall rating of the restaurant.

a place for grown ups - in Times Square, no less!
Super swanky, the Lamb's Club is Art Deco heaven and beautifully turned out, from the red leather banquettes to the house smoked Arctic Char to the gorgeous glassware to a killer stuffed French Toast.
It being a matinee day I anticipated the place to be full of noisy hordes, but at 12 noon, we were able to have most of the place to ourselves. It was blissfully quiet and a great choice for two couples wanting to talk over good food.
once the weather turns, I'll be back and asking to sit in front of the massive stone fireplace, which looks warm and inviting.

What a find!
One of the best NYC dining experiences I've had in 30 years. The appetizers and entrees were divine. The head waiter was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The wait staff was efficient and not hovering. And the chef took several minutes out of his busy schedule to chat. Thank you, Lambs Club, for a memorable evening.

what a lovely meal!
My husband and I make a point of eating at Iron Chef restaurants, and we were happy to visit Zakarian's place since he was my favorite to win (even though it was doubtful he was actually in the kitchen)! We arrived early and had great cocktails in the upstairs lounge. I loved the clubby feel of the dining room, without it coming across as stuffy. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the cod had a nice crisp sear and balanced accompaniments, and my husband thought the duck was cooked perfectly. We also found the service excellent, until it was time to get the check! By then it had gotten more crowded and we had a little trouble getting the attention of our waiter.

Pre Theatre-- Lambs Club
Only negative was that we were rushed. We had advised we were pre-theatre and all staff acknowledged that, but food was slow in arriving and we felt rushed in eating it. Did not have time for dessert or coffee.
Would not come back for pre-theatre again, despite good location for theatre.

Sunshine on Sunday
Sunday brunch at the Lamb's Club was not only delicious, it was delightful. A jazz quartet provided wonderful music and made for a very nice atmosphere. Have already recommended it to others!

Midtown West, Times Square business
Great place to have a business lunch, although the menu is a little expensive. The burger is divine.

Perfect for a special pre-show meal
Our group found the food, the ambiance, the decor, and especially the friendly attentiveness of the staff a perfect way to have a special meal before heading to the theater. The prix fixe menu was perfect for many of us in both quality and quantity, and I personally found the cod and the tarte tatin particularly worth swooning over. I would definitely eat here again, and I would recommend others do so, as well.

The Lambs Club Delivers
We had an amazing dinner at The Lambs. This restaurant is truly fit for foodies. And not only is the preparation and presentation divine but the service is equally exquisite. Five stars for this midtown gem.

Great for a special occasion
Always was a fan of Chef Zekarian and wanted to try one of his restaurants . He did not disappoint. Food was amazing - I had the duck breast and my wife had the lamb. Service was wonderful but not intrusive. It was a perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A bit pricey but no complaints as the experience was first class. They were also able to complete the service timely do we could get to our show.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went for dinner before our show and the service was horrific. Slow and lackluster at best. Not sure if our waiter forgot we were sitting there or he was just busy. We waited about an hour for our appetizers (bitter greens salad) which was not pleasant. Had to enquired a few times for our entree. We nearly missed the beginning of our show. The sommelier, however, was absolutely gracious, knowledgeable and friendly. He perhaps saved the day and so did that chicken when it finally arrived. It was beautifully executed! Was expecting more from Iron Chef Zakarian and thought service could use major improvement.
10/4/2013 5:00:00 PM
This is our third time at this restaurant and we continue to absolutely love it. This time we took friends who were blown away by the food and promise to return. Our omelets were wonderfully prepared and presented. The coffee flowed and the juices were freshly squeezed. The bread basket is amazingly delicious . We loved the fire burning and the club look of the room. Our waitress was exceptional, friendly and extremely efficient as were the rest of the wait staff. Give yourself a trat and eat at this restaurant

This is a very nice place for dinner. The service was excellent. Extremely knowledgeable without showing off. Sommelier Juan Gargano seated us, helped us with their wine list and watched over us with great skill. Rarely have we had this kind of caring service. Every dish was great, interesting and delightful.
10/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
My dining partner and I were attended to and taken care of like no other time before!! Pre-theatre menu was wonderful and perfect! Wine list was stunning! Just an overall awesome diningn experience that we will do anytime we are in New York!
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
If you want to be transported back to the glamour times of the 20's and 30's in New York, have dinner at the Lamb's Club. The decor is chic, the setting is glamour, and the food and service are what you would expect from a top NYC restaurant. I am partial, as this is a restaurant I frequent repeatedly for both business and pleasure because it is consistent, and it is just good at everything.
Chef Zakarian has developed an eclectic menu that is both delicious and satisfying. The overall experience is one of pleasant familiarity, like what you would expect from your own private club.

Zakarian Nails It !!
I know food can only get so good, so I was not going in with unreasonable expectations. I was not looking for Zakarian do any magic with food that was impossible. The night started with a couple cocktails, but for me I had ice tea. And let me say I knew I was in for a treat when I saw the care and detail that was put into a glass of iced tea. There were 3 components, a glass filled with ice cubes made from frozen tea as to not dilute the iced tea., the tea itself and simple syrup. It was great! For food I had the winter squash soup, Delmonico steak with roasted French carrots and spaetzle for sides. For dessert, lemon tart with concord grape sorbet. Everything was delicious. Wine was great! Made the meal sing!!
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
I am a fan of Chef Zakarian and looked forward to visiting this restaurant during a weekend trip to NYC. Overall the dining experience was a nice one. I loved the decor and the staff was very professional, knowledgeable of menu items and timely. I loved everything that we ordered. It appeared that we were slightly earlier than the normal NY dinner crowd, but then again, we were visiting from Southern CA so I guess our timing was off. It didn't fill up until just before we were leaving which was closer to about 9:30 - 10 pm. The lamb and homemade bolognese appetizer dish were quite tasty!!!!
Thank you for a great evening and meal. I would return given the opportunity and would recommend to others who may be curious to try it.
10/18/2013 5:00:00 PM
Went before a Broadway matinee and was perfect for brunch - service was fantastic, very friendly, not pretentious and always attentive at the right times. Had the Lamb's Club Burger - one of the best we've ever had. Super juicy and flavorful from the short-rib mixture. Others in the party had Eggs Florentine and Stuffed French toast - raves all around the table and all plates were cleaned!

Great pre-Theater with one caveat
Had a lovely meal at the Lamb's Club on Wednesday. The ambience is luxurious without being stuffy, the red leather banquettes very plush and the noise level very moderate. The $49 prix fixe was presented beautifully and each course was delicious. The only caveat were the portions. We were served a squash soup that was approximately 3 ounces each. I understand small protein portions to control cost but this was literally half of what would have been appropriate. The main courses were delicious but again the vegetable portions were too small to properly complement the chicken in my dish and the halibut in my friend's. The desserts were sublime and quite enough food. The service was attentive and I would return, just not for the prix fixe.
10/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had our best meal here. It was only breakfast but it was amazing. We started with some coffee and sparkling water. Wonderful. The almond croissant was absolutely the best I've ever had. My wife had huevos rancheros that she absolutely enjoyed as much as one can enjoy eggs. The whole experience was wonderful. From the time we sat down until we exited incredible and we will recommend to anyone that plans on coming to nyc

This was my 2nd time to the L C , both pre theatre. It is not only a convenient location but really well set up to get you to your show in plenty of time. When u combine this nifty service w consistently excellent food, it makes this restaurant hard to beat when you're going out near Broadway
11/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Lamb's Club looks like a set from MAD MEN- just gorgeous! Our waiter was very knowledgable, pleasant, and attentive. The food was divine.
We sat in a table facing the outside door. There is no shield from the draft, thus, we were uncomfortably cold on a chilly fall evening despite a cheerful fire in the fireplace- not too far behind us. I would bet it is unbearable at that table on a COLD winter night! This was the only thing that detracted from a total 5 star experience .
11/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
My friend and I were heading for "A Night WIth Janis Joplin" at 3:00 on SUnday and decided that brunch was in order. My hamburger was one of the best with meat that actually tasted like something and a great toasted brioche bun. I accompanied it with a glass of alto adige pinot noir and was happy! My friend had an omlette which was light and airy with crusty little potatoe towers to accompany. Her viognier was a great compliment. The "grilled country bread" was a disappointment although the table bread was excellent.
Tarte Tatin was a miniature surprise which we shared. It is, however, VERY tiny and better for one. Coffee was excellent. We will be back. Janis was AMAZING!

Lovely pre-theater dinner
The intimate space with the big fireplace is such a cozy departure from the big screens and crowds of Time Square!
The food was delicious, we could have ordered anything from the well prepared seasonal menu.
Surprised by the nice size of the portions, based on past experience at celebrity chef's restaurants.
Service was very efficient and friendly, we did not feel rushed nor had to wait endlessly between dishes.
We'll definitely visit again!

lambs club - an intimate gem
staff very attentive and helpful . loved the size of the restaurant . our meals were pre-theater and offered several excellent choices. The Hamachi Chop Chop - wow! Desserts were over the top . will return soon - may be our new "go to" place, particularly on theater evenings .
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Classy surroundings in a true. Club environment. The lamb dish was indeed outstanding. Great appearance when served. Courteous and professional service. Drink in the bar upstairs before dinner did not meet expectations. Good food & service for before the theater.

Enjoyed the ambience, a welcoming
Enjoyed the ambience, a welcoming fire on a chilly night, excellent and pleasant service, a bit on the slow side. We went for pre theatre dinner which started out with a decent noise level but made conversation difficult by the time we left. .Most dishes were up to expectation, one main course a little bland. My corvino was accompanied by a delectable nappe and perfectly roasted. We definitely will try it again

A Perfect Pre-theater Brunch
My husband and I booked for Saturday brunch because we were seeing a matinee performance at a theater across the street. It turned out to be a great choice! Comfortable red leather banquettes and a roaring fire welcomed us; inventive menu choices and attentive service kept us happy. We look forward to a return visit soon!
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Do yourself a favor and enjoy brunch here, which by the way is incredible, while listening to the Avalon Jazz Band. You won't be sorry.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
My friend and I were there for an early pretheater dinner. The waiter timed the dinner, but our squash soups were served to us without the marshmallows. I'd had this soup before. We told the waiter. He brought us five marshmallows- tiny- less than a half inch in diameter. How were we supposed to divide five tiny marshmallows? I wondered if the waiter were participating in a psychology experiment!
I suggested getting a wind barrier of some sort for the entrance because, on my last visit, it was freezing every time the door was opened. I was happy to see that there is now a barrier- a glass and canvas (?) temporary foyer in the front now. Thanks!

Food was fantastic! Salad
Food was fantastic! Salad was boring, but the lamb, cod, foie gras terrine and the octopus terrine were fantastic. Dessert
was okay. Our service was amazing in particular the sommelier was wonderful. The people next to us however waited quite awhile and were disappointed because we were all going to the theater and they felt the 45 minute wait for an entree was too long! They commented they would never return. We ordered a lot more food so the pacing was fine for our table. I would definitely

One of my favourite spots in NY
When in NY, I never miss dining at The Lambs Club. The room, food and service are all top notch - and it is certainly a standout in the neighborhood! Great for pre-theatre dinner.

Chic, Pricey, Pre-Theater Dining
This is a spiffy and comfortable place. Dark walls, red leather banquettes, a large (albeit gas) fireplace and a charming maître d’. Once seated, you are attended to by a young hip wait staff, some in suits so slight and tight you worry should they have to bend to pick up a fork off the floor. Then there's the youthful, glib, fashionably bespectacled Sommelier with a too big "tastevin" swinging from his neck. All this youthful exuberance was juxtaposed by the diners who seemed to be mostly middle aged and beyond, who in their pre-theater excited chatter made the room clamorous. The food and wine are good. But I must warn you, our dinner for two, came to $272.00, before a tip. If you’re not careful, it adds up fast at The Lambs Club.

Excellent All Around
We went this past saturday night, and were 3 couples. We had a nice round table in the corner which was perfect. The ambiance was just right for talking and the service was outstanding. We were not rushed by the staff in any way and we had a wonderful evening. The gentleman who took our order was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very attuned to listening to each of our preferences and recommending dishes accordingly. Every single dish ordered from appetizer to dessert was excellent - no false notes. Highly recommend this restaurant

What a great dinner'
For starters the ambience is beautiful. They have a huge fireplace in the middle if the dinning room that just makes the room glow. My server was very knowledgable of the menu and was able to make wonderful suggestions and guide me on a wonderful culinary experience. They also had a sommelier that helped me to find an excellent bottle of Pinot Blanc that I would have never ordered on my own. The food, the service and the over all experience was exceptional. I will be returning to The Lambs Club very soon. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Elegance on 44th
Lambs Club restaurant is elegantly renovated in Deco style, with leather booths and a wonderful fireplace. The food is delicious, the service courteous, and the prie fixe 3-course dinner before the theater is very reasonably priced.
11/23/2013 4:00:00 PM
The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The kitchen is very versatile, from salads to pasta to terrines to meat and fish to outstanding desserts. Great looking room. Beautiful experience!

Quiet Gem in Theater District
A wonderful high class meal one block from Times Square. We ate a leisurely meal and then walked across the street to the Belasco Theater to see not-to-be-missed Richard III.

Almost 5 for Thanksgiving
What a lovely way to spend Thanksgiving. We were seated right by the fire in this beautiful room. It was incredibly sleek but at the same time cozy with the dim lighting and glow of the fireplace, The somelier recommended a perfect wine for the meal. The service was great, if not a little rushed from runners clearing and serving.
The main disappointment was the appetizer salad. The menu boasted of licorice herbs on the salad and the only think I could distinguish was a bland dressing and sand in the greens. Yes, after taking a third bite and still getting sand I gave up on the salad. However, my companion had the soup and it was one of the most amazing soups I have ever tasted.
All in all, the the whole experience was sublime.
11/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great food and service
We went for Thanksgiving dinner and the food was outstanding. The service was excellent and they were available for anything we needed. The only thing that was lacking was the hostess crew. They were quite pretentious. We arrived an entire 8 minutes early and they were rude about it, almost as if we were putting them out. Then when they came to seat us, 15 minutes after our reservation time, an air of arrogance surrounding our hostess. I would advise the hostess group to get their act together because there are many other choices when we visit the city in which to spend our money, if it is an imposition to be friendly to the guests.
11/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
Lovely Holiday Inn
I decided at the last minute, only days before Thanksgiving that I would take my immediate family out for dinner instead of going to a dear friends home as I had done in seasons past. I was lucky to get a reservation to The Lambs Club. I had been there previously for lunch and found the old world ambience quite charming as well as wonderful food and service. The holiday fare was better than I imagined it would be. From the moment we stepped in to the last minute of devouring the fabulous desserts, our experience was sublime. I strongly urge you to check out this wonderful spot not only for a holiday repast, but for lunch and dinner both before and after theatre
11/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
The Lamb's Club pre-theater dining experience was truly outstanding. The menu specials included a 3-course pre-theater option that had great choices for appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Service was exceptional. My scallop dish was outstanding; but my wife did feel that her fish was just a tad over-cooked--flavor was still very good, though. Since we came early, the noise level was fairly low for most of our meal, letting us have a nice conversation without straining, but as the restaurant filled up with regular seating diners, it did become fairly loud--not unusual for NYC restaurants, though.
All in all I would highly recommend this for a treat!

We felt like long time members!
The food was delicious and the atmosphere and service were outstanding. The hostesses helped us on and off with our coats, and one of the managers gave us a brief tour of the club and shared its history. We will never forget our holiday lunch at the Lambs' Club!
