Best fish ever...
This lovely restaurant tucked away in picturesque Larkspur is simply one of the best fish and seafood places you'll ever go to. Everything is fresh and delicious, and portions just right. Best of all, it is really relaxed and unpretentious - you can hang out on the patio or the front porch and sip your wine in the balmy Marin air, while your kids play in the sandpit (a favorite hangout). Staff are friendly and good at their jobs.

Meal was very good: fish prepared
Meal was very good: fish prepared to perfection, as were side dishes. After several visits here over the years, we have come to the conclusion that the menu is difficult for us in some way that is difficult to specify...I don't know exactly what this is about, might just be us (though this is not a frequent experience for us). But that is our repeated experience: we find it hard to find dishes that really "fit" what we want. So, despite our appreciation of the quality of the food and the pleasantness of the atmosphere, we don't return here very often. This is disappointing, because we love to eat fish, and Yankee Pier would appear to be a great option for us...too bad it doesn't quite come together.

It was just a lovely experience. The food was excellent and of the highest quality.
Our waiter Luke, couldnot have been more gracious, friendly, or nicer. Very attentive and never rushed us.
A delightful experience which made a warm Mother's Day very special out on the back patio.

Yankee Pier was amazing
From beginning to end of our dining experience the staff at Yankee Pier made us feel welcomed and were genuinely happy that we were there. The food was mouth watering delicious and Chef Alex even visited our table. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Make a special trip to Larkspur to go there...it is worth it!

Lunch with the Girls
Everything was superb. "moderate" noise level only because the patio, where we chose to eat among three options, is near Magnolia Ave in Larkspur, a bustling street during the day. note, however, that traffic is slow in this quaint town, and foot traffic consists of easygoing folks of all ages. We had no trouble conversing w/ease. The patio is arbored above and in front with ancient wisteria, a lovely sound buffer. Both kid-friendly and romantic are chosen because, besides 2 moms w/buggies on the patio w/us, at night (i've also had supper at yankee pier), lights are low and tables small. i called in advance to be sure I could use an ancient gift certificate. After our meal, the whole team had a good laugh at just how old: 10 years!

Nice to have dinner with friends. Staff was courteous, and accommodating, and friendly.
The food was very good, and plentiful.

Fantastic service and excellent fish tacos. Only reason not a 5 for food is that tacos contained very small amounts of fish. Fish was prepared well, just small amounts. Service really stands out--everyone from the front to the server were really great!!

Chef Alex prepared some terrific food for us. A salmon tartar with chive blossoms was terrific. Enjoyed perfectly fried Ipswich clams with perfect tartar sauce. Superb lemon meringue pie that they were making just as we were ready to order. They have really great seafood which you know is fresh because it changes daily. Very pleasant patio and friendly service. Such a comfortable place.

Great Food at Yankee Pier
We moved here over 1 year ago and this was our first restaurant and continues to be a solid choice for really good seafood and the Butterscotch Pudding is outstanding.

July under the Stars
Dined outside on the deck. Weather was warm for enjoying the redwood and other tall trees that grew along the creek. July is 1/2 price any bottle on the wine list. Double the fun because we ordered a bottle of both red and white that complimented the fish dishes. Fun night. No rush to order, eat and run. Waitress allowed a good feeling for enjoyable dining. This Restaurant was service oriented in a good way. The busboys came around to remove plates at the right moment. Kudos to everyone.

Ipswich Fried Clams
I was born in Ipswich. Raised on Ipswich fried and steamed clams. Worked at Woodman's. These are done the right way, always fresh and tasty!

Fried clams were great, only surpassed by the service augmented by Chris, the friendly and attentive manager.

Local and Fresh
Neighborhood place. Very casual. !/2 off wine in July. Special was a pork chop. Had never had anything but fish before. Delicious choice. Seared in a grainy mustard reduction. Grilled peaches and escarole. Husband had fish and chips and Caesar salad. Always good. Parking can be difficult with all the other restaurants on Magnolia in just a few blocks. Nice night to walk.

Excellent Seafood in Larkspur
We've been going to Yankee Pier in Larkspur for several years. The food and service rarely disappoint.
The seafood tastes fresh and is expertly prepared. My wife and 11 year-old daughter love the fish tacos, while I relish the seared yellowfin tuna with olive oil mashed potatoes on the side.
The wine list is pretty good and they stock some popular labels. My wife and I were saddened that they stopped carrying La Crema.
The staff is professional, friendly, and very accommodating.
Overall, we give this neighborhood gem a very solid 4 stars. We hope to continue enjoying the food, service, and welcoming atmosphere at Yankee Pier in Larkspur for years to come.

great outdoor dining
the sun went down and it was great dining with our grandaughter on the patio. Great find for kids - 2 boys were in the sandbox most of the time. Their parents were quite thrilled with this. The Syrah rose seemed to be a great wine for the warm evening dinner. A great time. R

Love that you can choose your fish and have it cooked the way you like and choose your sides. It's a little pricey.

Fantastic seasonal seafood & fish
This is our special treat place when we are in the mood for fantastic seafood or fish prepared either with fresh, local ingredients or in traditional styles. The top quality and creativity are hallmarks, along with great, friendly service, and generous portions. I had a fresh sardine and heirloom tomato salad with lemon cucumbers that I'm still dreaming about. My husband ordered his favorite fried shrimp and chips. The food is consistent. The wine list is as creative and high quality as the menu and everything is fresh and attractively served. The desserts - when we remember to leave room - are often ice cream or cream pie but occasionally they make stone fruit desserts and those are amazing!

It was wild mushroom and Pinot Noir week - so creative the entrees the chef designed around that. Sole cooked to perfection wi a little crusty without being overdone - with fresh clams in the shell, wild mushrooms, then mashed potatoes to die for - all paired with the best pinot i have ever had: smooth as silk. and we got there early and started with happy hour $1 fresh oysters - delicious. My husband had sauteed prawns that were also cooked perfectly. The waiter had suggested the way to have the prawns cooked, which was spot on, as the parawns were still juicy, yet had a crispy side too. Go!

One of the best things about this restaurant is the choices. You can pick from fresh fish and have it cooked any way you want. Then you get your choice of sides. Waiter was very knowledgeable about best way to cook the fish I selected. I think it is a bit pricey for what you get but food was delicious and service almost perfection. Towards end of meal the restaurant got busy and our waiter tied up but other staff was alert to this and refilled our coffee cups.

Great place for any occasion
You don't really need an occasion to visit Yankee Pier. It's a great place to just stop in and have the best fish tacos around. An incredible seafood menu also has a super burger and a great flatiron steak.
One great thing is Yankee Pier's association with Seafood Watch, which adds a certain level of confidence that the fish on your plate is high quality and was caught using the best methods.
