Wonderful find. Been twice
Wonderful find. Been twice in 5 days. My wife had a fit over the Orange Roughy. I had the roasted Duck and it was fantastic. Chef comes out and speaks to everyone. Don't be put off that it is in a shopping center close to Trader Joes. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Also try the steak with peppercorn sauce.

We ate at Chez Pierre for
We ate at Chez Pierre for the first time on Sunday night and we will be back. We had heard good things about the restaurant and they were all true. The service was great, the food perfectly prepared and all for what we thought was a reasonable price. It is located in an off the beat area but the ambience was very enchanting. We have already recommended it to a few of our friends.

From the moment we were greeted by the wife of Pierre and told he would come to the table to discuss what he could prepare for me we know it would be a lovely evening. He did just that as well a provide my own pate and celery so I too could partake of this silken delight! Seafood was perfectly cooked. Wine provided a wonderful paring. Very personal feeling as the waitstaff arrives with the board to go over the special for the evening. Vegetables could have been less done but minor!
Look to the left as you face Trader Joes, restaurant is set back and slightly hidden, worth finding!

We thoroughly enjoyed dining
We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Chez Pierre. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Don't let it's location in a shopping center stop you from dining there.

The food is great, the menu varied. About half of the restaurant has outdoor seating. It is a very nice place for special occasions.

We have consistently good meals at Chez Pierre and we enjoy the personable service and charming/casual atmosphere. A wonderful menu of classics is always accompanied by seasonal specials that include the best quality wild fish and seafood. I appreciate the restaurants dedication to top-quality ingredients along with skilled preparation.

Rognons de Veau! One does not find that dish very many places and it was superb. As were all the other choices that our party had on Friday night. A wonderful evening.

Excellent as always
We had the prix fixe three course menu, both choosing the orange roughy as our entrée. It was perfectly prepared and served piping hot! My chocolate mousse was decadent and delicious.

The food, beef borginonne and a veal dish were spectacular. The onion soup was light and very flavorful. It was a very special evening and Chef Pierre and Esther were very gracious.

French Delight in the desert
Chez Pierre was a delightful little gem we found while visiting Palm Desert. The food is fresh and simply prepared. Excellent! A wonderful departure from the usual southwestern cusine found in the desert.

Chez Pierre... one of a kind
Our dining experience was one of a kind. We were greeted by Chez Pierre himself and were made to feel very welcome. The food and service was outstanding. We will look for the new location as Chez Pierre is something special in the desert.

Chez Pierre is superior to anything else I have been going to here in the Choachella Valley. There are several restaurants with great food, top amd top service, but no one comes close to the personal attention you get from the chef and owner of Chez Pierre, Pierre himself. I went to Chez Pierre the very first time last week. My wife and I reserved a table for 5:30 PM (early for dinner), but it was already filling-up fast. Here is why Chez Pierre in different; basically everbody who came for dinner was a regular. Pierre, a very french chef, was personally greeting, small talking, and joking with his guests. It felt like we were invited to a private party somewhere in a little town near Paris. We loved it very much.

If you love delicious authentic French cuisine, if you love a place that is elegant but makes you feel like family, then Chez Pierre is the place for you. You'll have to wait until September, when he reoopens at his new location, but it will be worth it!
Appetizers: Onion Tart & Goat Cheese, (enough for four people to have a good taste and it comes cut into quarters!), Homemade Lamb Sausage, (was a special for that day), savory with a spicy mustard. Dinners: Sand Dabs, Veal Pot Roast, Beef Bourguignon on homemade noodles, Veal Kidney with mustard sauce. Desserts: Creme Brulee, Beignets with caramel & chocolate sauces, Tart Tatin. Everything was, in a word, "Perfection"! This restaurant, and Pierre himself, are second to none! Don't miss it!

Chez Pierre Bistro is Amazing!
The food is delicious, fresh, with wonderful flavors and textures. Chef Pierre is warm and witty, as well as being an outstanding Chef! His staff are knowledgeable and solicitous, without being pushy, and also very charming. The new restaurant decor is elegant and warm, it makes you feel comfortable and "at home", paired with Chef's gregarious "visits", it is a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The food, where to start? Everything is simply delicious, from the Sand Dabs, to the Braised boeuf Bourguignon, you can't go wrong.
The Onion Tart is light, savory, and a joy on the tongue. The Endive Salad, (with walnut and blue cheese), is to die for! Basically, you can let your palate run free, and you will not be disappointed! Bon Appetit!!

Okay, the ambience isn't the same in the new location as before, but it's clean, pretty and bright. I wish is was a little less bright, but it's okay. It's still new and maybe things will become less stark with time. The menu is smaller, but actually better with many of the same favorites. There are many specials and Pierre always uses the best fresh ingredients so the food is delicious. The same wonderful staff is still there and provide great service. There is limited parking so the valet parks for both Chez Pierre and Chop House. It makes like easier.

Marvellous Birthday dinner
Our first visit to Chez Pierre's new location. Love it. My husband had a great Birthday dinner. Thank you all. Look forward to retuning on our next visit to the area.

Same lovely Chez Pierre
While the corner location on Fred Waring was quite nice for such a long time, there was always a demand for more inside tables when the weather got chilly. Now we've got the well-loved ambience in a much better layout. Kitchen is no longer open to view, but Pierre makes the rounds as usual.

first time at the new location
I must admit I missed the outdoor patio seating of the former location, but the menu still have all the favorites, and the food quality remains high. The poached skate special was especially good, as was the starter of escargot. A companion loved the chopped steak Alsatian-style, but another's beef bourguinon (usually excellent) was a little overdone on this visit. Still one of the best lists of reasonably-priced, high-quality French wine in the desert.

Fine French food
Found this charming restaurant online and was attracted by the <> listed on the menu. We savored our other courses as well-the delicious celery remoulade, fish soup and steak au poivre.
The chef greeted us with enthusiasm and the service was excellent!
Looking forward to our next visit when we come back home!

Had a wonderful evening. Food was wonderful. Chef Pierre and his staff give hospitable a new meaning.

New location (better) but the same great home style cooking and ambiance. The Beef Burgoyne is as good as it gets...drinks are generous.
We will be back as often as we go to the desert.

As always, the food was wonderful
As always, the food was wonderful and the service excellent. This new location is not quite as charming as the previous one -- the kitchen is no longer open and there is no outdoor seating. However, Chef Pierre's food and presence will keep us coming back every time we are in the desert!
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
Entire evening was wonderful...orange roughy to die. And for desert, the "floating Island" in those fabulous glasses.
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
The charm lost from the trees, lights, birdhouses, and other touches in the original restaurant pales in light of the charm of the Chef and his wife, everyone is made to feel welcome. The new menu touches complement the retained ones, which seem to have improved. The frog's legs were coated in a lighter and crispier way, the vegetables have been tremendously improved from the succotash type staple of the past, the braised foods, this time oxtail, are so rich, tender, and delicious that licking the bowl is a real possibility. A brand new dish, risotto with duck and bone marrow, appeared to have cheese laid on in strips and melted at the last minute, rather than stirred in as is usually done. Delicious nonetheless. Wine at good prices.

Recommend that you go to this resturant with a big appetite. The food is extremely good, and you will wnat to enjoy each course. We had the escargot, followed by the duck for me, and the beef for my partner. The desserts were also terrific, don't miss out on the beignets, they are beyond belief.

First time at new location
The atmosphere is different from the outdoor patio of the old location, but the food is still wonderful and Pierre is still out and about chatting even though we can no longer see him cook. We did enjoy the indoor option on a recent cool evening. The duck was fabulous as was the osso bucco special.

The food is delicious and the service wonderful. The owners make you feel welcome and the staff is well trained & attentive. The new art work is delightful and makes the new location more beautiful each time we are there. You can't go wrong dining here.
