Marche' Never Disappoints
This was a repeat visit to Marche'...for a friend's birthday celebration. Our server was great. The food was awesome as usual. I had the oysters on the half shell with the arugula salad and then the beef tenderloin. The oysters from Puget Sound were super fresh with a unique and flavorful sauce. The tenderloin was exceptional in a superlative mustard sauce. Others in our party had the salmon, the rabbit or the souffle' and all were impressed with their selections. Everyone tried the desserts to very favorable reviews. The creme brulee was a standout. I would also point out tat the savory beignets were also a big hit with my spouse for a starter. The venue is a standout on the Eugene dining scene. Go there; you will have a good time!

Should have had a Marche burger
Great eats, excellent service, one problem OpenTable could solve: I made rez for 2, then added special instruction mentioning baby and requesting a high chair. Marche didn't seem prepared for 2 plus; it isn't a 'family restaurant with lots of crazy stuff on the walls' so they didn't have enough high chairs to go around.
Server was a dad and made us feel welcome as we improvised

nice mother's day dinner
Great oysters, as always. Over-expensive wine list, as always, but decent wine by glass and cocktails selections. Steak tartare and tenderloin were excellent.

Gem in Eugene
My fifth visit in as many years, and Marche still comes through. They service my foodie husband and vegetarian godson equally well.

good, and fun
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience, with very good food and appropriate recommendations from our very good server.

What a fabulous and DELICIOUS dinner we had at Marche. We also had breakfast there and it was incredible as well. This is a real gem for in Eugene.

Perfect Anniversary Dinner
Exceptional food, excellent service, and a charming outdoor setting. The Salmon and Halibut dishes were beyond compare and perfectly cooked. The portions are small but satisfying. Wish the menu had a few more offerings or a daily entree special or two.

Sunday brunch/traveling friends
two of us had the special, a salmon eggs benedict, two the salmon hash. Topped it off with a wonderful chocolate tart that was shared. Waiter was friendly and our out of town friends, just traveling through, who had spent a couple of days eating with their college student daughter and her friends, were delighted with this meal and the venue. I know the wine list is good and the bar menu as well, but it was not that time of day for us. My son has said they have the best hamburger in town.

One of my favorites
Marche is one of my favorite restaurants in Eugene. It is quiet enough for a conversation. The food is presented beautifully. The menu changes with what is locally available. The service is attentive. The wine list is eclectic. It is one of the nicest restaurants in Eugene.

Charmed in Eugene
Excellent service...much improved from past visits. Wonderful seasonal dishes - well recommended wine pairings. We'll be back.

We stopped for Sunday brunch
We stopped for Sunday brunch on our drive from Ashland to Seattle. We arrived around 1 PM and they had run out of a few menu items but we were well fed. Marche is an oasis on that long drive.

We went here for my husband's birthday. It had been suggested to us by a friend. It was a great place to enjoy both company and food. We tried their soda with bitters. I highly recommend it!

Excellent food--at a price
The food here was excellent. My father said his beef tenderloin was about the best he's ever had. My wife's vegetarian souffle was quite good, if a bit on the small side. My halibut arrived at the table with a slightly fishy odor, but there was no evidence of fishiness when I ate it.

Better the first time
When I went for my first time in April the menu ha more choices but theyrbecently changed the menu. It was good, but better the first time. They took off my favorite brown butter and lavender ice cream which was a disappointment but I instead had an amazing blueberry galette with lemon curd ice cream. All if their ice creams are very good.steak tartar with the raw egg was very good. So was the duck liver pâté that spread on like butter. Amazing. Very good marinated olives. Muscles were good. Nothing too memorae but not bad. Our waitress was new to the restaurant but very nice, attentive, and helpful. We also sat outside on a gorgeous night. I would go again.

Marcheʻ is a great restaurant to go to when in Eugene, Or. I have nothing negative to say about the place except it seems each year the portions get smaller and smaller. Excellent food but needed more to eat.

Favorite out of town restaurant!
A friend told me about this restaurant when we came to visit U of O from California. Our son loved his dinner so much, mine was great too, that when we came up for Introduction, we came back again. Just as good, when my husband comes up with us next time, know he will enjoy too!
I enjoy cooking, so appreciated their innovative approach. They served a first course pizza that was out of this world. Thin crust, with peaches, (know it sounds strange but had just a couple of slices per piece), goat cheese, mozzorella and panchetta. The combination was so different and good.
What a gem for Eugene!

The food was excellent as usual. We went there for brunch for the first time. Our only complaint is that the portions were quite skimpy for hearty eaters like ourselves.

Best restaurant in Eugene
Consistently fabulous food but always have fantastic specials! Best steak tartare I have ever had and their homemade chips are to die for!!!
7/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
great after a slow start
We waited quite a while to be seated and then again for water and ordering but after that the service was great and really enjoyable.
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had lunch for three on a weekday, and I ordered the portabello sandwich, served in a pita-like flatbread made in house. Featuring sundried tomato relish, aioli, and Jack cheese, it had a wonderfully moist, soft, rich taste with a mildly tangy flavor. With the accompanying green salad, it was perfect for the hot weather that day. The service was great as always, and Marche has to be my favorite restaurant in Lane County.
7/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent menu and wine list. Our meal as cooked to perfection. Wait Staff as good as you can get. Overall a pleasant experience.

A pleasant experience
I invited my boyfriend to Marche for his BDay, and we were both pleased. The food was excellent, and our waitress was so friendly and helpful without being too much in your face. We will come again if we happen to be in Eugene.

A spiritual experience!
When we tell ourselves that $$$ is too expensive, we have to eat our words at Marche. The whole experience was exquisite. The relaxed service, the ambience (what a wonderful sunset), the water feature's white noise, even your acceptance of a small dog in the outdoor bar area, were unsurpassed, but it was the quality of preparation and the creativity of the the flavors of the food that will bring us back, even if we eat oatmeal for dinner for a week to afford it more regularly. I'd call the whole occasion a Spiritual Experience.

I will certainly be returning
This was my 1st visit, and I was impressed with everything. I had a musclun salad and a plate of lox, tasted my friend's tagliatelle
dish, and we both had elegant desserts. Hers came with a lit candle on it since I had let the restaurant know that it was her birthday when I made the reservation. Such nice details accompanied each dish. My lox came with a sliced heirloom tomato, her ice cream dessert was served with a piece of hazelnut brittle. This is where I will take my husband when it's his birthday.

French Regional Dinner
We reserved for and attended Marche's once a month French Regional Dinner. Marche prepares a five or six course meal tied to a region of France and serves appropriate wines with each course, The menu is fixed for those who reserve for it although the regular menu is available for those who have not. Usually the main course is a choice of a meat or fish dish. My wife and I order one of each and then trade plates half way through. Provence is the region for August and the dinner was wonderful. The restaurant's menu is seasonal and uses fresh local ingredients, many local farm sources are listed on the menu. Preparations are imaginative, light and Highly recommended.

Dining at Marche
Excellant cusine with special emphasis on local food. Atmosphere is very cosy and staff where wonderful and professional. I love to go here for special occasions. My wife had pork chops which were great. I had abacore tuna and was warned it would be rare in preparation. I wanted to try it, but would not do it again only due to personal preference. The preparation appeared perfect.

Celebration at Marche
We had a wonderful time dining at Marche this week. We brought a bottle of wine that was special for us and the staff took care of chilling, presenting and pouring it. The food was good and presented very well, although it wasn't overly abundant. Service was fabulous!
The restaurant is very expensive for what you receive, so I will keep this as a special occasion place to eat dinner. They now serve breakfast, so breakfast and lunch might be a little easier to swallow in terms of check.

Attentive service, great food
Phil mixed drinks, served wine and food at our barroom table.
He was both attentive and friendly.
Baked Salmon was delicious.

This is by far my favorite Eugene restaurant. The food and service is outstanding.

Consistency is not a Hobgoblin
We go to Marche once or twice a year and it's a real tribute to the team there that every time, our food and service are excellent. There are never any disappointments! Thank you, March!

we had a wonderful dinner, followed by a wonderful breakfast, on our way through Eugene. The food was excellent, and the wine list very good. My steak tartare was the best I have eaten. We ordered an inexpensive Gaillac wine and were not disappointed. For breakfast the next morning I had salmon lox. Very good. Our waitress was thorough and prompt.

Great Birthday spot!
As usual, the menu might strike some as limited and pricey. BUT... the food (especially the pork) and the service are unequalled in the Eugene area. Good drinks, great staff and a sophisticated ambience.... love it!

Great Food, Enjoyable Atmosphere
Everything was delicious as usual. The servers were friendly but not overly chatty. The price is pretty high for me so we only go there for special occasions.

We enjoyed dinner here with
We enjoyed dinner here with our son during parents weekend at the University of Oregon. This was the third time we've eaten here and we liked it every bit as much as before. The seasonal cocktails are well-conceived and flavorful. We had two appetizers: chicken livers and a fried parsnip preparation that were both creative and drew focus to the primary ingredient. I had the wood oven roasted salmon accompanied by chanterelles that was perfection. This is perennially on our list whenever we visit Eugene.

Marche great again
I took my wife to Marche for her birthday and as usual the food and service was outstanding. If you're visiting Eugene, don't miss going to Marche.

Solid dining in Eugene
I like Marche a lot. The food is very good, the service is professional, and the overall atmosphere is enjoyable. In a city with a lot of fairly odd (often good, but odd) restaurants, Marche is decidedly "normal" -- in a good way. It is a what one expects a good restaurant to be. It lives up to a particular standard very well. It isn't boring, but its goal isn't to surprise you. And there are times when a good meal, with good service, in a nice, well-appointed, and comfortable physical space, is exactly what one wants. Marche delivers.
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
the go-to restaurant in eugene
we ate at Marche two nights in a row- one night at the chef's counter, watching the action and enjoying the enteraction with the kitchen staff and one with friends- both nights the food was creative, seasonal and servers attentive and knowledgeable. It's a really great place.

Marché does not disappoint
We had the regional Alsace-Lorraine menu, Oct. 30. The onion tart was perfect. The beet and celery root salad was a wonderful treat. My husband had the pork loin/sausage/sauerkraut entree and I had the salmon with a light horseradish sauce, and we both enjoyed our entrees immensely. Portions were not large, but that's a good thing! The wines they recommended to accompany the entrees were just right. I managed to save room for dessert and glad I did - a delicious apple custard tart. Sitting by the window at night is not the best - ask for a booth or an inside table.
10/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Using a gift card as motivation we reserved a table for two Saturday night. Success, we had a quiet corner booth and then the outstanding food completed our evening.
11/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent service. A little hard to hears it was quite noisy. A small mix-up on the type of ice cream served with the dessert.
The food is getting much better than it was last year.

Encore event was a success!
We had dinner at Marche for my husband's birthday on November 10th. This was our second time to dine at Marche. We so enjoyed the food and atmosphere the first time, that we thought we'd try again. Marche didn't disappoint. The food was cooked to perfection. Service was fantastic. We consider Marche our special occasion destination, but are anxious to try lunch and breakfast in the near future. Thank you Marche for making my husband's birthday an extra special day.

Marche is always hits the spot.
Went for a Sunday night supper when we were in Eugene. The restaurant always provides good food. Moulles Frites are excellent. I had the pork chop which was imbues with a nice smoky flavor. We all enjoyed our dinners.

The food was phenomenal, the flavors were unique, one flavor did not overpower another, the ingredients were fresh and local. It was expensive but the cost equaled the extraordinary preparation.

We don't live in Eugene, but over the years when on traveling on Hwy 5, if at all possible, we try to time at least one meal at Marche. Our latest stop confirms our nearly 12 year commitment. Bravo Marche!!!
11/30/2013 4:00:00 PM
We eat here often enough to see the rhythm of menu changes: about once a month to conform to seasonal changes in the locally available, mostly organic, fresh food. Within that cycle there are daily and weekly specials that are not on the menu. This night I ate the end of the rabbit stew from the last cycle that ended yesterday. Delicious with wild mushrooms, onions carrots a very tasty thick broth and delicious dumplings. Yum! As a starter. I had the caramelized Brussels sprouts that came with a delicious beef broth, still on the menu. Dessert? Hazelnut crunch ice cream with caramel sauce. Service as always was very friendly and careful without being intrusive. Marché is far and away my favorite restaurant in Eugene.
