Our go-to restaurant in Vail Valley
We really enjoy the excellent food at a more moderate price range than you find in near-by Vail. Great wine list and menu selections. Also like the gluten-free options and vegetarian options.

It's great to have Zino open again. Zino was one of my all time favorites, and I was sad to see them close several years ago Now that Zino is back, I'm very excited. The food was great, and the space is beautiful. Don't miss the special mussels.
3/15/2013 5:00:00 PM
More than just a "local's find".
Always predictably good....it's been through a "reincarnation"; having come back from an earlier and very popular life as the original Zino's. A great heritage having ties to Sweet Basil but a more casual and appropriately priced menu and atmosphere; definitely worth it.

Branzino was not up to the usual delicious white flakiness -- kind of fishy -- but everything else was great.

Excellent service for group of 8
Group of 7. Prompt service. Entrees good-excellent. Some unique items, making the dining experience different that "run of the mill". Enjoyed veal meatballs parpadelle, sea bass entree, homemade mozarella was excellent.

This is one of many times
This is one of many times we have returned to Zino's. We are always warmly welcomed and we are seated promptly even if all of our party is not there. Our guests arrived shortly and the waiter let us all talk before ordering or explaining the specials. He was a terrific waiter, sensitive to our flow of dinner, and a nice sense of humor. No hurry and no intrusion, but was there when we wanted something. The dinner was delicious and all of us remarked how much we enjoyed our meals. The buzz of the dining room and the nice view out the windows made this a terrific experience. This is an excellent experience worth telling your friends about.

Great overall experience!!
This was our first time to Zino and it was incredible. The food was excellent as was everything else about the experience. The food was top notch. We will definitely visit Zino's any chance we get when passing through the Edwards/Vail area.

As always, Zino was delicious.
As always, Zino was delicious. Mussel madness ($6 skillet) is every Tuesday. Lately the mussels they have been getting have been big. Regardless of the size, they are always delicious and served hot on a skillet. I had my usual skillet of mussels to start and melanzane (delicious eggplant parmigiana) for my main. My friend had the Mediterranean pizza. The crust was as it should be in Naples - bubbly and crispy. This is a delicious meat-free pizza. The patio will open soon. Can't wait because summer evenings near the river at Zino are so much fun.

Great local restaurant with
Great local restaurant with many dining opportunities (i.e. bar and lounge dining, restaurant and outside). Always consistent....which is critical in any F & B experience. Servers are professional and fully understand the menu. Full range of liquors and wines. Drinks prices are high....but the restaurant offers dining specials.
It is important to make the experience affordable for repeat business....that includes drink prices as well as food. I recommend this as the first choice in the Edwards area, based on dining experience, consistency and price.
You know that your guests will be pleased with the experience.

This is one of our summer
This is one of our summer favorites as we can sit outside and listen to the Eagle River, as well as watch or play Bocci Ball. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. They also usually have specials to add to the Italian Cousine they normally have on the menu. Go with a group and have a great time!

Food and Service the Best
My daughter and I had a wonderful evening meal with you this past Monday. She's vegetarian; I'm not. I had the Tortellini i?) seafood plate and my daughter had whatever vegetarians have. The presentation was great for both and the food very tasty with portions just the right size. And best of all was our server. Don't remember her name but she is getting married in Costa Rica soon. I wanted to adopt her. She was just a wonderful person and very efficient.
I remember the old Zino's which I quite liked. I like this one even better.
I'll be back, often

Great All Around Experience!
This is our favorite place to dine in Edwards! We love to sit on the patio in the summertime. The food is what first brought us back here time after time, the Burrata is our favorite. We have also played bocce a few times!
6/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
consistently good food
So glad Zino came back - have missed the mussels, pizzas and creekside dining! Great to bring the kids so they can play bocce outside or can have a nice dinner with friends later in the evening. Typical Vail service is mediocre and inconsistent but the owner/manager seems to care so we'll keep coming back!
7/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Restaurant set in a beautiful two story room that you reach by descending a beautiful spiral staricase. Lots of outdoor seating near the creek during the summer. Menu loaded with delectable Italian favorites for both primi and secondi which will not disappoint. Save room for dessert.

Definitely a great place
We've been long time fans. They closed a few years ago and then reopened 2-3 years ago. We were told that everything is made from scratch. The pasta is fresh made and you can definitely tell with the first bite! There were 4 of us and we sampled each others dish. Everything was delicious. We had 2 plates of mussels and 1 dish of eggplant Parmesan for appetizers before that, and of course, we had to have desserts. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Unfortunately, their cappuccino machine was broken; but, did have a cup of Lavazzo (Italian) coffee.
We have a time share condo in Vail, so we can only go to Zino's once a year. We did have another meal at Zino's before we left and was not disappointed!

Seafood was fresh and cooked
Seafood was fresh and cooked just perfectly. Prices were reasonable for a resort area like Vail. Wine list provided variety-our choice was a Nebbiolo. Service was attentive and friendly. Wait staff knew all the menu and was passionate about the food offering. Would not hesitate to return.
7/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Once again, we had a great time!
We love coming here to Zino! The staff is always so friendly! We were able to get a table on the patio, which can be difficult when it's busy since everyone wants to sit out there. We started off with their burrata & artichoke. We asked our server to suggest a pizza, and she said that the peach pizza was her favorite, and it was great! We also had the Pork entree & the Seafood pasta which were both excellent. We are all locals, and are so happy to have you back in the neighborhood. Keep up the great work!

Terrific find, recommend highly!
Having been away for a week already, we had our older daughters yearning for a good wood fired pizza while we were just looking for some good fresh food. We were delighted to see a unique fresh menu that truly worked for everyone. We all shared the grilled peach pizza which was amazing and the Gnodi which was a fresh gnocchi with an arugula pesto. The Carciofi Burrata was a fabulous dish with melt in your mouth homemade cheese that we all could not get enough of! The salads were wonderfully dressed and we also found enough vegetarian dishes for those interested in our party. ! Our server Olivia was fantastic and we enjoyed seeing the outdoors setup with customers enjoying Bocce and a pretty Colorado view! Hope to come back some day

Chef Nick and Company shine again
Co-owner and executive chef Nick Haley keeps going from strength to strength. His summer menu is sure to please all palates and budgets. The sea bream is one of my favorites. Baked in their Palisades peach wood over (where the pizzas are also cooked) It's enough for two. I had the pistachio encrusted sea bass in tomato saffron broth special. Delicious. There are not THREE burrata preparations: Burrata with Heirloom tomatoes, with grilled artichoke and with melon and prosciutto. All delicious, but my fave is the artichoke. The melanzana is fabulous. Not too fussy or heavy. Co-owner GM Giuseppe Bosco's wine list is chocked full of gems, primarily from Italy, but some other regions. It is one of the best lists in the valley.
7/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food is always good at Zinos but last night our group wanted a complicated pay out. Our young female waitress was so accommodating It was a hassle for her but she did it with a smile. Customer service, what a concept.
8/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Every experience is wonderful
Every experience we've had at Zino has been wonderful. This was no exception. The sea bream continues to be THE dish of the summer. The porcini risotto is wonderful. Full of fresh porcini and perfectly cooked Carnaroli rice (the caviar of rice). I had the sea bass special which was pan seared and served over fingerlings and pea puree with fresh chanterelles. The fish was tender, moist and flavorful. It was wonderful, particularly paired with the Matteo Correggia Barbera d'Alba. Yes, red wine can be a perfect companion to fish! Did I say the co-owner, exec chef was not in that night? Zino is open 7 nights a week and Chef's strong team in the kitchen is on the top game every night. This is my favorite restaurant in Vail Valley!
8/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
When I made the reservation I put in the comments section that it was my wife Donnas birthday. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us and and told Donna that she hoped she enjoyed her birthday dinner. When we were seated Donna was given a special menu with "Happy Birthday Donna" on the top. That was a nice touch that we hadn't seen before.
The food, atmosphere and staff were great.

With Rusty and Susan
There aren't many restaurants one can go to over and over and have the same, outstanding experience. Zino is one of those. This time I tried the special - seared Skuna Bay salmon. It called for a puttanesca "sauce," but given it is a great season for porcini in the Rockies, I asked for porcini on top. The extra $2 was worth far more! A generous serving of delicious, huge porcini, perfectly cooked surrounded the fish that say atop a tasty chickpea puree. I savored every scrumptious bite! Paired w/ a Matteo Correggia Arneis, it was a superb dinner! I started my feast by splitting the housemade burrata with arugula pesto and grilled artichoke heart. Awesome flavors exploded from that delicious starter. Could make a meal of it!
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
The evening was beautiful
The evening was beautiful sitting outside. The company and food were great. My meatballs were a bit dry but the waitress was happy to bring me more marinara sauce. The tomatoes on the salad could have been a bit riper. All in all this is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Edwards, CO.

Lovely Italian Food
Celebrated our friend's anniversary here and the food was delicious. Gluten-free friendly.

Outstanding Culnary Experience!
THIS RESTAURANT & CULINARY EXPERIENCE IS WORTH THE FLIGHT-NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE! Outstanding attention to detail throughout! Setting is true picturesque Colorado. Atmosphere is updated & inviting. Patio dining complete with Bocce Court and the sounds of the river. Servers are knowledgeable & well trained. The Italian owner shares his wine suggestions & love of Italian life. You can view the fun kitchen & pizza ovens from some areas of dining. The chef is very creative and gaining notoriety . Love the salads, unique outstanding pizzas, & the house made Burrata cheese. Ask for chef's suggestions for time of year. The bar area has couch seating & looked to be the happening place to be. If visiting Vail...do not miss the Zino experience

Ladies night out
On a ladies night out we ordered two fabulous pizzas between the three of us. We started with the HOUSEMADE burrata and grilled artichoke heart with pesto and the Melanzana (Chef Nick's version of Eggplant Parmesan). Both were great! The burrata w/ the crispy, pan toasted ciabatta made in-house is a meal in itself for one person and perfect for sharing, although you might get greedy and not want to share once you taste it! We ordered pizza with spicy sausage and pizza w/ fresh chanterelles from the local mountain forests and arugula. The pizzaiolo Ryan is a master. He baked ours until the edges of the fermented crust were burned and crisp in the Palisade peach wood fire oven. Super! Matteo Correggia Barbera makes a perfect pairing.
9/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
We enjoyed another wonderful evening of dining at Zino's Ristorante! We had a nice bottle of wine and we each had an appetizer, the "carne crudo" and the "carciofi salad". Then we shared the halibut special which was very special and the chef split the order nicely onto two plates. The atmosphere is always vibrant but not noisy. We shall return!

Zino's Chef Nick Haley has been making the most of a the warm/wet August mushroom bounty of the CO Rockies. Chanterelles and porcini have graced many a dish on his menu. Now, unfortunately, the season is drawing to an end so the remainder of the crop will be frozen for use in Chef Nick's winter dishes (e.g., his fabulous wild boar on polenta). I had the pan seared Scottish Steelhead once again. Never fails to be anything but delicious. It was cooked perfectly - med rare is how I like it. Served w/ potato hash and chanterelles (chef said chanterelles are better w/ fish because they aren't so woodsy like porcini). We ordered a bottle of Matteo Correggia Barbera d'Alba. Wonderful pairing with the steelhead (which is similar to salmon).

Fresh Local Mushrooms!!
This has become a favorite of ours, and Chef Nick is doing some great things with the menu. Service is always good with friendly and attentive servers. The food is top five in the valley, which is remarkable given the number of fine restaurants.
This time of year the dishes have a mushroom emphasis, as Nick forages his own very fine Porcini's and Chanterelles. We always look forward to an evening with friends and family at Zino's.

Tuesday Night Mussel Madness is it!
Zino is a terrific restaurant always - but their Tuesday Mussel Madness is amazing!! It attracts a fun crowd - and the mussels are superb (even if not on special!!!)
The staff is really super - Amanda was our server and she could not have been more attentive and friendly :)

I love this restaurant. It's a local favorite - good food, fabulous atmosphere, great service. We go every time we're in the area.

Good Food, Fun Spot
Zino's is set in a dramatic two story dining room with a grand staircase spilling down onto the main floor overlooking the river. The place is always hopping. Excellent pastas and meat dishes. Started with a luscious appetizer of prosciutto, mozzarella and toasted italian bread with olive oil. Service is always prompt, attentive and friendly.
9/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Weather has cursed thousands in CO this season, but rain and lingering warm weather spurred an explosion of wild mushrooms in Central Rockies' forests - porcini, chanterelles, Lobster mushrooms, just to name a few. As a master forager, Chef Nick Haley has amassed 100s of lbs of these "caviar of mushrooms" - porcini and chanterelles. He's featured them prominently on his menu. The other night I entered "Porcini Paradise" when I ordered a porcini pizza. Slips my mind what the salumi was on the pizza - I was so focused on porcini. Fabulous taste and texture. Homemade, fermented crust baked in the Palisade peachwood-fired oven. I always order mine black on the bottom and crust - as it should be. Chef Nick was pizzaialo that nite. Fabulous.

Party of six review of Zino
Great experience - overall! Especially outstanding service. Our waitress was superb! Fast - but not rushing our party - to take our orders for wine and food, she made sure that we had excellent service and a quality experience at Zino. Food was really good, but not exceptional for price. Would recommend Zino!
9/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Zino's Chef Nick Haley uses only the best products available. Most importantly, here in the Colorado Rockies we're not exactly home to great fish - other than rainbow trout which doesn't even come from rivers and streams anymore. Chef Nick uses seafood from Sea to Table, amongst other excellent purveyors. The scallops are extremely fresh and perfectly paired. I had them on the last night they were available in that preparation until next summer - seared with saffron, garlic puree. Awesome! He also uses Skuna Bay river farmed salmon which is fabulous. Pair the scallops in any form with Matteo Correggia Arneis. The two "members" of that pair tease delicious flavors out of each other. Winter's coming, so that means wild boar ragu soon!

Bustling Friday night
In addition to great food, one of the things Zino does so well is multitask. There were two rehearsal suppers ongoing plus a full dining room of al la carte diners when we arrived just before 7:00, yet the food and the service was as good as if we were the only diners. As usual, the Skuna Bay salmon was delicious, although I am not a huge fan of puttanesca on fish (so I got it on the side). What I do love is the saffron butter sauce over the fish and the chickpea puree under it. My husband had the vitello. Ok, this is a MUST for the next time I go there. It's braised prosciutto and sage-stuffed veal breast over gorgonzola polenta w/ roasted Roma tomatoes and veal demi. The veal could not have had more flavor or been more tender. Yum!

When the cat's away......
Co-owner/chef Nick Haley and the rest of Zino owners/managers are away, but that doesn't mean service or food is any less excellent at Zino. Chef NIck's Sous Chef Pancho and his team continue to crank out delicious dishes in Chef's absence. The pan seared scallops with garlic puree and saffron butter were on special that night. Delicious as always. Someone at the table ordered Skuna Bay salmon and loved it. Why not? That's a wonderful fish and Chef Pancho perfectly prepare it. Another had Zino's famous pork chop. He said was the best he's ever had. I had the winter veal preparation - vitello. It's a roulade with sage and pancetta on gorgonzola polenta w/ a veal demi. Large portion, rich dish, so take half home. Even better next day!
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
It is always interesting to visit a restaurant during the "off season". Right off the bat we thought the host and wait person had good energy. The food was very good. We had a pasta dish and salads. The restaurant is very beautiful (great lighting, color, rock work) and the outdoor seating in the summer must be quite lovely. Overall great experience. This is a restaurant with lots of seating and I imagine it fills up during the summer and winter! My husband and I would go back.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Piemonte w/ a Rocky Mountain Twist
Chef Nick just got back from visiting the region that most influences his menu offerings - Piemonte. I hear he has some great new ideas that will soon be on the winter menu. We had a taste of one of those dishes - poached egg on a ciabatta crostini with fonduta and truffle pearls. Delicious. I had a salumi pizza that was perfectly cooked in the wood-fire oven. Two bottles of wine - one Arneis and the other Barbera d'Alba, both from Matteo Correggia. Excellent food and wine all around.

Making a pig out of myself
In Vail Valley, everyone loves autumn when winter menus are on offer @ special prices. Zino's offering two courses for $29 and it's such a steal. I started with the eggplant parmigiana. I'm not talking about a piece of eggplant drowned in tomato sauce & cheese. No. These are perfectly pan fried slices of LIGHTLY breaded eggplant stacked w/ slices of housemade mozzarella topped w/ housemade marinara sauce plus drizzle of balsamic reduction. Fabulous, particularly w/ a glass of Arneis. Next came one of the most popular dishes @ Zino - Milanese - breaded pork chop (thick! juicy! tender!) with whole grain mustard sauce, pancetta & B-sprouts (FABULOUS!) w/ veal demi. It's finished in the wood-fired oven. It's huge. Split it or take it home.
