Very nice restaurant, elegant
Very nice restaurant, elegant and sophisticated. The service is very good if a bit too solicitous. I ate late on a Tuesday and it was nearly empty. I prefer more atmosphere, but that said the table looking out at the Capitol was lovely.

Exceptional service. Great
Exceptional service. Great food. Small, always changing menu. A bit more pricy than the $$ from google's reviews but no complaints.

Harvest, the restaurant on
Harvest, the restaurant on the square that offers unparalleled food and service with a touch of class that Madison has come to love. The "other" restaurant on the square deserves as much attention as it's neighbor down the street and is for anyone looking for a restaurant with exceptional taste.

Pleasant food experience
it was my first time visiting Harvest, and I was very happy with the overall experience. Food was served quickly and had great flavor, and I felt very taken care of. Can't wait to visit again!

Friday night LOUD
Just too noisy to really enjoy our dinner. Harvest needs something on the walls to absorb the sound of so many voices. Other than that, my pork was divine.

Great attention to detail.
Great attention to detail. Excellent service. Food was very good, well thought out plates with great mixes of flavors. Great mix of local ingredients paired with the best non-locally attainable ingredients (halibut, scallops).

First time in Madison
Found Harvest on Open Table - shot in the dark that proved to be a 100% winner. Look forward to returning next time I'm in town.

Delicious Food for a Fancy Meal Out
A friend and I went here for dinner before seeing a show at the Overture Center. It was nice to have different menu options--not the standard run-of-the-mill stuff you can find at any restaurant. We ordered the crostini and pickled asparagus for appetizers. Then I had the salmon with hazelnuts and blackberry sauce and she had the pork loin. Both were delicious. Dessert also did not disappoint. We had the peanut butter pie with crumbled potato chips, which was good, and a lemon something-or-other. I cannot remember the exact name, but it was heavenly. The wait staff was also very good. This place is a little pricier, but that was to be expected. It was a nice treat for a special occasion.

Great food with a great view
We enjoyed a wonderful pre-show dinner at Harvest. We were seated outside with a view of the Capitol, and everything from the amuse through main course was a big hit!

This was one, if not the first, loca
This was one, if not the first, locally sourced restaurants of it's kind in Madison years ago. It stands the test of time and still has a great menu and ambience to it.

Creative and delicious!
We thoughly enjoyed our dinner at Harvest during a recent weekend visit to Madison from Chicago. Our waitress was adorable and so friendly. The food was creative, well prepared and beautiful. I had a side dish of "chicken of the woods" mushrooms which were unique and wonderful. We sat outside and enjoyed listening to a jazz band down the street and people watching! Looking forward to returning.

Interesting menu with many items not often found. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked and came with bacon hush puppies that were outstanding. The marinade for the marinated asparagus was delicious, but overwhelmed the flavor of the vegetable. Drink prices were very reasonable ($5.00 for Jack Daniels on the rocks).

The food is great, and the service helpful and "unpretentious". Several unique dishes such as the root beer dessert -- not just for kids. We were early and very quiet, but could be more noise when busier. We'll definitely be back.

Madison has taste..
Wonderful menu, with notable dishes (scallops, tenderloin, etc.) and a superb wine list. I love the ambiance, and the place is VERY romantic and nice, but laid back as well. The service was OUTSTANDING, and I wish I could have ordered more.

Comfortable harvest yellow and wood surrounds the diners at this lovely restaurant. Starters for four included, charcuterie platter, roasted scallops and watermelon pickle, roasted marrow bones, and the heirloom tomato and burrata salad. All were fabulous, the scallops were superb. Dinner included the smoked trout entree, pan roasted skirt steak with morel butter , the house gnocchi with roasted baby vegetables and the basil pappardelle with rabbit ragu. Pastas are house made and excellent. My son said the steak was excellent and the morel butter made it perfect..

Would go again
Exciting menu with lots of local produce. Fantastic cocktails. Service was poor for such a nice place with prices to match.

Put Harvest on your Madison List

Praise all around!
My husband and I went here for our 3rd wedding anniversary. We ate early and got a table by the window, which was great. My one and only complaint (which isn't a big deal) was that we waited about 10 minutes before a waiter came over and took our drink order. We asked the waiter for suggestions on cocktails and he was spot on. All the food was delicious. We shared one small plate, 3 first courses and the gnochi. It was all very good. We weren't stuffed, but definitely fully satisfied quantity wise. We will go back for certain!

Great meal. Great service
Harvest is a wonderful spot to enjoy a great meal overlooking the capital. Reservations are suggested - especially on football weekends. The food is prepared very well - the tenderloin was excellent. It can be at times a little crowed in the restaurant as tables are closely situated in a small space. Enjoy this great spot.

Always an imaginative menu, excellent wait staff, and in a great location and setting.

Excellent food and service
Memorable meal. Pork tenderloin was perfectly prepared, tender and full of flavor. Duck confit was savory and elegantly presented. Parsnip soup was a great seasonal starter. The market apple salad was a perfect blend of sweet and salty notes. Service was just right...attentive but not intrusive.

I have no complaints on the food. It was inventive and delicious. Our table was by the door, and it was drafty and busy there, which might bother some people. Even though the room was not full, I did not feel like I could linger over coffee, maybe that table placement was why. Service was competent but not warm. For a table of 4, I was surprised that an 18% tip was added to the bill. I usually tip more, but was not going to add to what they wanted.

We've eaten here 3 times in the last 3 years as we visit our son at UWisc, and it has been a reliable pleasure.
