A wonderfully varied meal
The small plates allow for a tremendously varied meal (biggest hits with our group were mussels, Brussels sprouts, mushroom strudel, duck leg, scallops, beet salad. Shrimp risotto was the only less-enthusiastically received dish--a bit bland) especially with a bigger group. Service was friendly & efficient. Cocktail & wine (a suggestion from our server) also excellent.

Off to a great Summer again!
Kate and her team at django's have put together another great summer menu and they are off to a good start in summer 2013. We had the ravioli's, brussel sprouts, lamb empanadas, and gluten free gnocchi. All were terrific, and the wine selection was top notch. Thanks much.

Incredible dining experience
This restaurant rivals the best Denver spots with inventiveness of the menu, food quality, and service. It is almost worth the 5 hour drive from Denver just to eat here. Every dish is a work of art. Even if you don't eat vegetables, you must order the crispy brussel sprouts!

My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service attentive. The restaurant itself is small and modern without all the loud echoing you get in most establishments. This lends itself well to a romantic evening. They also offer side-by-side seating facing the kitchen, making it easier to converse with your partner. We are gluten-free so we appreciated the chef clearly outlining which items are straight up GF, which are modified without loosing flavor, and which should just be avoided. We had very delightful, GF dishes with flavor! We highly recommend dining here.

Great service, wonderful ambiance, and delicious small plates from this small restaurant located at the top of crested butte. Small plates.

Always a must in Crested Butte!
We have dined at django's many times and have never been disappointed in the food or service. They always make you feel special and appreciated. The menu maintains a number of our favorite and popular items such as brussel sprouts, flatbread, date with a pig and adds seasonal new offerings that are equally as delicious.

Fresh and fun
Outstanding tapas...look forward to dining here

Bluegrass Festival Goer
Love this place! When we are in Crested Butte, we always eat here! My husband said it was the "best" antelope he had EVER eaten!
Only disappointment was we had a reservation for 8pm and didn't get seated until after 8:30

Another perfect experience!
Absolutely a fabulous place for food, wine, surroundings, and service. While tucked away in Crested Butte, django's would be an important dining experience in much larger venues like New York City or London. With so many great choices on the menu, the biggest problem is finding a big enough appetite to taste as many options as possible. This time we sat at the bar and Tony helped us pick the perfect wine pairings. It is easy to tell the owners take great pride in their efforts and are sincerely interested in making sure guests are treated well. This was a great find several years ago, and like a good bottle of wine, it seems to get even better with age. Don't miss it!

django's is the best
My wife and I have been to django's three times in three weeks and have loved it each time. Kate is a fantastic chef and we love sitting at the bar watching the kitchen prepare the interesting and fantastic small dishes. Tony, the regular bartender, is a good conversationalist and knows how to make any drink. if you prefer sitting at a table, ask for Rachel to be your server. The wine list is very impressive and the price on the 250 millimeter flask is reasonable.. This restaurant could be the best in a large city and I'd make a trip there.

A Dining Experience
Small plates, each more interesting and flavorful than the next. We particularly enjoyed the scallops, the Brussels sprouts and the venison. We were fortunate to be at the table across from the kitchen, so we could watch the chefs prepare the food. A fun evening!

love this place!
We celebrated our 12th anniversary here and had a wonderful time! The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing!

Food is outstanding...but...
This is a great place for foodies. The food is outstanding. My only complaint would be that they lighten up a bit about the wine aspect of the place. Not all foodies are also wine people. They should offer wines by the glass and have less expensive wines available to those of us who are mainly there for the food. Having the waiter get an attitude about the wines and only pointing out the most expensive ones on the menu was weird. Also, not serving by the glass is just odd. Having to order a glass and a 1/2 was wierd. Great place..just ease up on the wines a bit.

We had such a lovely dinner on the patio, where we could have our puppy sit with us and listen to Mike, the marvelous guitarist. The menu is diverse and exquisite, and we appreciate the dishes being served in a thoughtful order (light to heavy) by charming wait staff and accompanied by a terrific pinot gris. Reserve ahead if possible. Many thanks for a great evening!

4th time at django's this summer
django's is our "go to" restaurant to take guests and for ourselves. The food is always excellent and if there is an occasional unimpressive dish, the staff and kitchen quickly correct the situation and maybe this is what impressed me the most during our our 4th visit in July. The crab ravioli & crab was not perfect and we told the server when he asked. It was immediately replaced with a superb duck dish and everyone was appreciative. I took the founder of the Miami Wine and Food Festival and owner of the best retail wine store in Miami and he and his wife were very impressed with the wine selection.
Go for a first date, 25th anniversary, for a late night snack, a pre-concert snack, or just because you want some very good food and wine.

Great place to go for sharing sites with friends and trying new dishes!

What a gem
This was by far the best restaurant we went to in Crested Butte. We love to eat out. This was an outstanding restaurant for any city. You will not be disappointed. The owner, chefs, wait staff are all top notch. We went back the next night to try all the dishes we could not the first night. And I don't recall last time I went to a restaurant two nights in a row.

Great atmosphere, wonderful but not overly attentive service. This is a unique "small plate" dining experience, it helped to have someone guide us through the menu and wines. The food was terrific and unique. Really novel to allow smaller wine servings from interesting choices so that proper pairings were right for the dishes we ordered.....and it was fun. Don't be afraid to have them slow the pace of servings......

Always a fun time!
Django's is a special restaurant that we save for visiting friends or date nights...Kate's menu is always new and fun to sample. We recommend Django's to anyone who has a taste for great food with a unique flair. Small plates means more opportunities to taste, and we always end up ordering nearly everything on the list. So fun. Thanks again for another great dinner at Django's.

Excellent interior, ambience,
Excellent interior, ambience, service, and, most of all, food. I look forward to going back again.

Not private enough
There were many tables that were set very close together. Mostly the tables for 2. It was very annoying to hear conversations on both sides of you. I would not go there as a couple again. If we had a large group at one of the bigger tables I would go back.

Excellent restaurant in CB
Had dinner with my wife for our anniversary. Everyone at the restaurant was wonderful and made us feel like it was a special night. Menu has an excellent assortment the small plate format really works in sharing/trying a lot of great food. Highly recommend if you are staying CB.

We dined here on our last night in town unfortunately. The food and service was excellent. This was our best meal while visiting Crested Butte. The menu is tapas style which we love, you can order several items to share and try different things. The duck and short ribs were the best we've ever had. I would highly recommend dining here.

Best of the Buttte
This is our favorite restaurant in all of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. Kate Ladoulis has an innovative menu selection that never fails to please. We love the small plates so we can order several things and share.

Another spectacular meal
The dining experience at django's is consistently fantastic. The food is inventive, delicious and seasonal. The service and ambience works for a romantic meal or a larger table with family and friends. A must on our agenda whenever we are in Crested Butte.

This is an amazing restaurant. Loved everything about it as the star ratings indicate. We had the Date with a Pig, Baby Artichokes, 1/2 order of what might be the best brussel sprouts in the world, duck and peach tart for dessert. The service was impeccable; friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They even made sure to hustle up the tab so we could catch the next bus back to town. Exquisite. Do yourself a favor next time you're in Crested Butte and make absolutely sure to at least stop; in for a glass of wine and one of the menu items if not come with a group and share them all.
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Loved every bite!
When my husband and I first arrived it was very quiet..and we almost felt like we had to whisper, but it got a little more lively. The restaurant has cool decor, high ceilings, dark and hip...the wait staff was superb.
All the small plates we had were delicious...artichoke hearts dusted with polenta - crunchy and delicious, steak that was cooked perfectly with a yummy sauce, scallops that were de-lish, and a mushroom risotto - also very good. For dessert we had a flourless chocolate cake with a coffee ice cream and some creme brulee like thing - both were absolutely delish!
We will def come back when we are in CB. YUM!

Small Plate Love
We experienced Django's by recommendation. It was our anniversary. The drinks were perfect along with the service and we sat where we got to watch our food being prepared. The owners were extremely friendly and perfect personalities for any business in customer service. We could tell that they really enjoyed their restaurant, and they called us by name more than once. Yes, yes, fit for foodies and particular people like myself.

Djangos in Crested Butte
This restaurant was such a great find, that we skipped our second night's reservation and returned here for a second meal! Their style of serving and the excellent food made this a wonderful experience. I only wish it was also in the Denver area where we could enjoy it more often.
I would recommend this to anyone staying in Crested Butte! A real gem!!!
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was our first visit to Django's and we were very pleased with this discovery. Serving a tapas style small plate menu we enjoyed some unique and fantastic cuisine and presentations. Notably the roasted brussel sprouts were abundant and tasty with the pan seared duck breast was the best and unlike any other. Next time we are in Crested Butte we will return for sure, this is a must stop for everyone with a pallet to appreciate!

Perfect from start to finish
We visited Crested Butte in late summer and while we were out noticed django's and decided to make a reservation on a whim. It turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip. We dined on the closing night for the summer season and the entire experience was unreal. From the staff to the desert, everything was beyond our expectations.
It's pretty dark, but very intimate. Its also small so not good for many big groups although they do have a couple tables that could accommodate a larger party. We followed a few of the server's recommendations and made a couple of our own calls, but everything we selected was great.

We sat at the chef;s table - what an experience. The food was amazing, attentive staff, great wine list. Plan to have a wonderful evening of good food prepared in an extraordinary way with a twist in each dish! Loved it. The place to go whether you want a few nibbles and a glass of wine or a full dining experience!
