What a celebration!
We went to The Peacock Inn to celebrate my daughters 23rd birthday and graduation from college. It was a perfect evening of amazing food, wonderful service and great company. We dined off the ala carte menu and enjoyed the tuna maki, scallops, tomatoes salad and the slow poached egg with potato and mushroom purée for appetizers. Our entrees were the halibut, filet mignon, roasted lobster and salmon. The salmon and filet were outstanding. We had champagne for toasting and paired wines for the entrees. We all thoroughly enjoyed Chris's selections for us.
It was a great evening and we are sure to return!

Given a terrible table location which put a damper on the evening. A table at the entrance to the room with all the foot traffic should not be offered when you are spending $450 for three people. In fact, that table should be removed from service.

25th anniv was a success!!
went to TPI to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversay. We each had the Price fixe tasting with the wine pairing. What can I say....from the Chef's complimentary opening appy followed by 5 incredibly tasting, well presented dishes, we left there holding our sides. You will not leave there hungry like some other Princeton restaurants. Our waitress was courteous, informative and all around very nice. Thanks to TPI for making our 25th special.

Princeton's NUMERO UNO
Deciding to try this formerly good but extremely slow-service spot in Princeton, on 8/27/13 we were blown away! Beautiful old home on a busy street, valet parking-then friendly desk where we were escorted to our table exactly on time, met there by four old friends. I recommended the $87 tasting menu. Excellent, attractive, professional young woman head waiter set the tone for the perfect service, a la Europe!
Five gifts from the chef, each with one choice. Notable were presentations of every course. Also lobster dish, foie gras, fantastic duck, desserts.
Wine menu more than adequate, prices reasonable. We had fine white burgundy, excellent pinot and a lovely 2005 Figeac. d.
We were last to leave, buoyed & refreshed into the night!

First time for this party of three at the Peacock Inn. Welcoming service from beginning to end marked by multiple checks on the table for bread and drink refills without being obtrusive. The three different appetizers, two salads and one scallop based were superb. All ordered the Maine lobster entree which was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. While visiting our daughter at college we have eaten at the main players in New Brunswick and some others in NJ and The Peacock Inn easily fits in among the best dining experiences we have had in New Jersey.

A very special place
Dined with a friend from the A la Carte menu. We are glad that they now offer this in addition to the five course tasting menu. We were seated at a lovely table near the window and the service was excellent. The Hudson Valley Foie Gras Terrine was perfect as was the Roasted Maine Lobster entrée.
I ordered wine by the glass from the menu and wanted to try a different wine for my second glass. The waiter recommended the Faust which ended up being $25./glass. Just a heads up to check back with the wine list to avoid surprises.

We, a party of two celebrating
We, a party of two celebrating a special occasion, were seated in a small room dominated by two loud and obnoxious large tables. We are in our early 30s and lots of fun, but it seemed like the late-40s loud-talking-used-car-salesman convention and their massively over-made-up wives (one of whom had a flashlight she used to wave around, not just to look at the menu) were in town. We tried not to let this bother us, but acoustics don't lie.
The food was great, and the service even better. Walking up to the Inn at dusk on a cool night in late summer, with the dim lights on the front steps and crickets and birds chirping, was an extremely memorable and happy experience.

A most enjoyable evening
Celebrated our 51st and enjoyed the ambiance, the food, the service, the greeting, and the ending with the valet car service. We always enjoy going here.

Dinner at the Peacock Inn was a 25th anniversary celebration of our first date, at the Peacock Inn, with the woman who is now my wife of 23 years. We also got married at the Peacock Inn, 2 years later. The experience was extraordinary: excellent service and incredible food!

Great 5 Course Menu
A must go when in Princeton. The food was impeccable as was the service. We were seated as soon as we arrived, no waiting -although the bar looked inviting. The wine list was extensive and my waiter was knowledgeable enough to assist with a choice. We went with the 5 course menu since it was a special occasion -the food was perfection. The Tuna tar tar was melt in your mouth delicious! Meal cost- $360.00 with a bottle of wine.

Peacock provided the perfect
Peacock provided the perfect environment for party of 6; round table in a corner. The menu varied so that boh seafood/fish and meat lovers could find exactly what they wanted. The quality of both the fish and the beef was outstanding. We all fully enjoyed sharing appetizers so that we were all able to sample a number of dishes. We ordered from the A La Carte menu because the tasting menu, which all at a table must particupate in, contained some courses that offered only seafood choices and one person at the table is allergic to seafood. Food prepared to perfection: the filet ordered medium rare was indeed medium rare and the salmon ordered rare was perfect rare, not cold. Wine selection excellent and the desserts a perfect end.

I could have given this place a five star if it wasn't for this particular server we had. She was not friendly at all and undermined us. There were several servers and al the others were wonderful but she was the main one. The food is simply delicious . I went for brunch and I can't wait to go back for dinner in the evening minus that server.the decor is simply exquisite both inside n out. Great find.

I took my parents to this marvelous restaurant to expose them to a degustation menu for their first time. It was a smashing success, as all three of us were able to savor a very fine meal expertly and unobtrusively presented.

Outstanding Autumn Dining
It was a perfect dining experience on the first day of autumn. Two outstanding courses from the new menu, matched with the ideal wines over the course of two hours, convinced me that they are one of the best restaurants in Central Jersey.

Great dining experience
Celebrated my brother's birthday here and we went with the five course tasting menu. Excellent flavors. The bartender, servers and staff are all very engaging and excellent. Expensive, but worth the price for a special occasion. Highlights: gnocchi, short ribs, lobster were outstanding. Nice wine selection as well. Surprisingly not too crowded for a Thursday night.

Perfect dining experience...again!
The PI is at the top of my Princeton restaurant list. The personal greeting and service is just the beginning. Chris (the General Manager) is amazing and has a wonderful personality. He and the staff do everything and anything to ensure a great dining experience. The food is easily the best overall in town, in fact, in the whole state of NJ! The PI is beautiful to look at while being an absolute culinary gem that keeps my wife and I continually coming back for more! Try the gnocchi..it's award winning and the dish doesn't disappoint! Kudos to the PI!

Outstanding in every way!
My husband and I had a very special event to celebrate with eight of our closest friends and chose the Peacock because we had dined there in the past and were very pleased. I cannot find enough superlatives to describe our exceptional experience there on this occasion. Because we were a party of 10, we were given several choices regarding venue and menu. We chose a semi-private room and full a la carte choices for our guests. The room was perfect, the food was exquisite, and the service impeccable. Thank you, Peacock Inn, for making an important day even more memorable for all of us.

Excellent and not fussy
The food was excellent and well prepared...not fussy, but elegant and flavourful. It is a pretty calm place, and I didn't feel pressed along to finish the meal. The homemade gnocchi was particularly noteworthy. A very good option for Princetonians or those traveling into Princeton University.
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
The five course tasting menu
The five course tasting menu was spectacular! Paired with a wine tasting, it was even better.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great place for a perfect evening.
The service is thorough but unobtrusive. The menu is imaginative . The food is well-prepared and nicely presented. The wine list offers variety and good quality. The ambiance is among the best in the area. The Peacock Inn is a wonderful place for a perfect evening.

Absolutely Amazing! Top Notch!
This restaurant went above and beyond all expectations! From the promptness of the wait staff, to the presentation of the food, there were absolutely no complaints. We did the 5 course menu tasting...to die for!!! I have never had a better meal in my life. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, and right on top of things. The 5 course tasting menu...SUPERB! The fried pork belly was my favorite, but I enjoyed every single thing I ate. The Toffee Cake desert was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that's a foodie or just looking for a romantic night out.

We can count on it!
We have been to Peacock Inn on several occasions and we can always count on a superlative dining experience. This recent visit was a special occasion for an employee/friend. We chose the 5 course dinner with the wine pairing. I highly recommend it. The portions are just the right size to enjoy each course. Our waiter did an outstanding job in describing the dishes as well as each wine. The food is always excellent. The atmosphere is formal yet very comfortable. And the service is top notch! Our waiter was very attentive and likeable. This is our favorite restaurant in the area.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went here for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Food was wonderful and I enjoyed that no course felt rushed. Highly recommend!
10/18/2013 5:00:00 PM
Our brunch was an outstanding experience. The food was creative and excellently prepared. The service was outstanding. While a fairly formal setting the staff was professional without being too stuffy. We will return again for dinner.

A full tail of colors
I read about this place on yelp and other sites when I was searching for a place that served fois gras.. I made reservations but wanted a quite corner as I was alone... They were fantastic! Michael took care of me and the staff was fantastic! I noshed on 3 appetizers and a drink on the bar... Had my fois gras, only wished it was the sliced type and not Turenne but good, scallops were good, and knocci was ok... Ambiance was the best..
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
First time here, and the food
First time here, and the food was very good. We tried the tuna tartare, beet salad, pork belly, scallops and halibut and they were all very good to excellent. Very good service also. Lively bar. My only complaint is that the bread was very stale, and when we asked for new bread, it was moderately better but still stale. Dried out and hard-ish. I will still return when in the area.
10/22/2013 5:00:00 PM
Another memorable evening
The Peacock Inn did not let me down.
Service and Food, both impeccable.
It wowed my out of town friend who pronounced her Salmon the best she'd ever had.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went with another couple to celebrate a new job. Perfect place for great food and good conversation. Our server was very nice. The little "extras" of soup before dinner and small dessert really topped off the night.

Lovely brunch for my husband's birthday celebration. Food was fresh, well prepared and very well seasoned. Was a wonderful dining experience and would recommend it highly.

Could be the best
I believe that the Peacock Inn could give Nicolas a run for the money as the best rated restaurant in New Jersey

Peacock in Full Bloom
First trip to the Peacock Inn since it's reopening and won't be the last. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Great evening in a beautiful setting.

Dining under the stars!
A wonderful place that excites the palate and pleases the eye, a splendid setting that contributes to a pleasant exchange of laughter, conversation and good feelings with family, friends or significant other, and a thoughtful staff that treats patrons as if they are the only ones there—together work to create a memorable experience. Enjoy!

rich, rich, rich
My husband and I celebrated our 47 anniversary at the Peacock. We'd been there many years ago. The food was good then but nothing great. It was closed for a long time for much needed renovations. The new Peacock is incredible! We had the 5 course tasting menu with the matching wines. An a la cate menu is also aailable. The food and service were excellent except for dessert, good but not great. Service was efficient, friendly but not over-familiar. This is a special place.

Peacock Inn is a special place that should not be missed........the food is excellent and the service is top notch,,,,,,,,,,,,
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
a warm but elegant setting
The filet mignon was almost perfect. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The setting was very comfortable, but what detracted from the experience slightly was that our table was adjacent to the wall behind which the staff entered and exited the kitchen, so one could hear and feel the door as it opened and closed. Otherwise, would clearly go back there again.

A good time with great food
We had passed by The Peacock Inn a million times. When it was featured as one of NJ's best restaurants, it was a nobrainer to make it our 13th anniversary dinner choice. I am not what you would consider a foodie, but it was one of the best meals of my life. The five course tasting menu provided us with unexpected culinary thrills. I had no idea I'd love cauliflower soup! From the expert attention given to us by Manny to the presentation on the plate to the grand wines with every course, the night was a happy whirlwind for the senses. Thanks for a great memory!

Terrific food and service
My husband took me out for my birthday dinner and we both really enjoyed the food and the service. Valet was quick and efficient, the location is great, and the dining room has a lovely starry sky. I wish we could have sat somewhere more private because in our section the tables were a bit close together, but it wasn't a big deal. The food was delicious and we were definitely full by the end with just an appetizer, entree and dessert. The menu is full of great options, so we are looking forward to coming back again. I would say a restaurant at this price point is a special occasion place, but no one seems to really dress up, even on Saturday night, so I felt a bit weird in a nice dress - but I've been told Princetonians don't dress up.

A special dining experience
We enjoy The Peacock Inn for special occasions. The food is top-notch and the ambiance is soothing. Particularly enjoyed the cheese selections this time.
11/17/2013 4:00:00 PM
It was a very pleasant surprise to see our dessert with a 'happy anniversay' greeting. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary.
The food was great. And the staff too.
11/23/2013 4:00:00 PM
She took the train from New York and I drove from south of Philadelphia to meet halfway for brunch at the Peacock Inn. It was our first date. After making the reservation on line, Ebony of the Peacock Inn called me to confirm the reservation and I explained it was to be our first date and she enthusaistically assured me that the experience would be wonderful….and it was. We had a quiet table for two by a window, and the staff was attentive, but not intrusive, allowing us to take our time to talk before making food choices. Eggs Benedict were done just right. We will make sure to return.
11/23/2013 4:00:00 PM
Unique as a peacock
Food was well prepared, a fusion of flavor sand just scrumptious. Wrote happy anniversary in chocolate around our dessert plates! Nice surprise.

Intoxicating/Full Review at Yelp!
I went to The Peacock Inn this past Friday night for the 5 Course Tasting Menu. Each course was a unique fusion of textures and flavors which made my husband and I savor each forkful. Our First Course was an extremely generous portion of Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare “Maki”. Each bite was simply the freshest most tasteful Tuna.
The Roasted Cauliflower Agnolotti with Toasted Hazelnut Sabayon was beyond words.
The seared scallops were also pure perfection. The lobster dish was succulent and paired with delightfully interesting vegetables.
The Fourth Course was all about MEAT. My husband informed me that the Waygu Sirloin was the best he ever had
How do I describe the Warm Sticky Toffee Date Cake, the Fifth Course? Marvelous!
11/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
Excellent food and service.
Excellent food and service. Perfect for a special occasion. Wine list could have some lower priced bottles for those of us who are not wine enthusiasts but enjoy a glass or two with dinner without $50-$100. The final tab for two adults and two children was $287 including tip...ok for NYC, but Princeton, NJ??

Excellent American Food
This is an excellent restaurant serving American food in the Peacock Inn. Food, service and ambience were all good.
11/29/2013 4:00:00 PM
The Peacock Inn is an incredible dining establishment and the food, service and employees are all top notch. As a nice surprise, we were presented with a complimentary cup of lobster bisque that was exquisite. I can't wait to return to the Peacock to try the tasting menu
