Our Wonderful Evening at Amuse
My husband and I celebrated the end of my chemo and radiation therapy for breast cancer by dining at Amuse. Our daughter gifted us with a certificate for a lovely dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The wait-staff was excellent and the food phenomenal. We cannot praise the experience highly enough. This was a 5 on a scale of 5!

I really enjoyed my first
I really enjoyed my first visit to Amuse. The interior is unique, elegant and contemporary with appropriate respect to its classic fondation. The food was presented very well and its helped that the weather was perfect and light spilled onto the table highlighting the food. Enjoyed each item as fresh and favorful. The atmosphere was unhurried, vibrant but not crowded in true European fashion. Very pleasant.

I don't know why it is so
I don't know why it is so empty. It's a lovely space and the food is good.

This is a small restaurant
This is a small restaurant inside the hotel, but had BIG flavors. The onion soup is classic french, and the warm baguette withe the whipped butter is to die for.
Not a large space, so I wouldn't bring a group, but for a small party it's perfect.

Excellent food. It was more expensive than the "$$". However, well worth it. Everything we had was wonderful, appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts!! Great service also.

French Cuisine in Center City
The restaurant was very nice, although a bit too contemporary for the old building, in my opinion. The background music was a bit too loud and very alternative. The food was good and plentiful and the presentation was very nice. Three Cheese Onion soup, outstanding. I had the house special of seared filet and french fries (Steak Frites) along with seared brussel spouts (slightly burnt). The Marjoram Lamb T-Bones were very large and the lobster bouillabaisse was outstanding. The standard Desserts were very good; I had the Dark Rum Ice Cream, very good. Our waiter was very nice and handled our every need.

Mike made our night
We celebrated our one year anniversary with dinner at Amuse. Our waiter took it upon himself to make our night memorable from being more than gracious with his service to taking photos for us at the end of the meal. Will never forget it and will definitely recommend it to friends.

Great Little Restaurant
Quaint, small, but very beautifully set up, great staff and wonderfully tasty food. The steak frittes was fantastic!

Though the bar is clearly intended to be the star, the food is what steals this show. Seasonal (...I assume locally sourced) ...vegetables and spices are combined in creative ways that create anticipation for each course. From the ramp soup to the Colorado lamb, everything was perfectly prepared--flavorful, balanced and beautifully presented. The only knock on the food was desert. It had been years since I had seen Sacher torte on a menu. Without warning, the chef completely deconstructed it--genoise left naked in its filling and surrounded by ganache cannon balls. I almost cried (...but the flavor was good). Anyway, don't let the bar scene, amped music and pedestrian service scare you off. Come for the food!

The food was very good (the fresh-warm bread was a great addition to our lunch) and the service was prompt and friendly!

The food was outstanding. Wines by the glass nice variety to compliment the food. My waiter, Michael, was a gem and fun. I will be back and I will ask for Michael.

Great & Best View of City Hall!
I have only been to Amuse for lunch and cannot speak for the evening bar scene or dinner. However, hands down this is the BEST place for fine food in a sophisticated atmosphere that I know of in the Convention Center area. The lunch menu is a limited one - however - the selection is first rate and every guest I have taken finds something that fits their tastes - and - like myself all are impressed by the quality of the food, attentive service and the civilized atmosphere conducive to quiet conversation. How wonderful to have a place where one does not have to speak at the top of ones lungs to be heard over bad acoustics and loud background music. I have been to Amuse well over 20 times and have never been disappointed!

Always a gem
We now go to dinner here regularly as the food is outstanding. Service was slow this time unfortunately but the room is never crowded, and the prices are moderate. The presentation of the food and the value is excellent. Everyone should put this on their dining list, it is a special place.

We had an excellent meal -
We had an excellent meal - the food was truly outstanding. Our reservation was relatively early (6:00), so that we could get to a show in NJ, so we were about the only ones there, which was a little odd. But the restaurant is very attractive, and the service was quite good.

When we first arrived our server was not as friendly as we might have expected, but as our lunch progressed, he warmed up considerably and became great! One of us was not thrilled with her entree and the personnel made every effort to satisfy us. we felt very welcome!

We stay at Le Meridien in
We stay at Le Meridien in Philadelphia often and hadn't considered Amuse for dinner until we saw reviews on Open Table. The food was just amazing! My husband had the Bouillabaisse which he said was the best he'd ever eaten. I had the black cod which was outstanding. The service was excellent and the environment lovely. We have decided this will now be a regular for us.

Treated as a guest
Excellent service and attentive staff, quietly shouting you are our guest and will receive our best. Delicious, well prepared food. Great location for a quiet business lunch with nicely spaced tables.

Fantastic in Philly near City Hall
Great high class food at less than high-class prices.

At first we were a bit concerned that the hostess was no where to be seen, but we had to take into account that we had made a 2:00 p.m. lunch res. and no one was in the restaurant. After the hostess was retrieved by the hotel concierge, the rest of our lunch went well. We both ordered the specialty of the house, steak frites. No complaints, nicely executed and presented. The ambience of city hall, prominent in the windows of Amuse, provides a lovely backdrop for any meal.

A great place for brunch
We had a lovely brunch at Amuse. The food was generally quite good; the service friendly, if not polished. A great value for the money. We look forward to trying it for cocktails.

Great food in a romantic setting!
The complimentary tuna tartare and the hot bread were nice surprises to start the meal. The windiw table afforded a beautiful view of city hall at night! The lobster bisque was outstanding and had hunks of lobster meat! The steak frites and striped bass cooked to perfection! The desserts were beautifully presented and tasty. The hemade chocolate mints topped off an exquisite meal!

Great dining experience.
This was our second time at amuse, and like the first it was a great dining experience. We were joined by two of our foodie friends this time. They also loved it. I had the lobster bisque - extremely rich and creamy with huge chunks of lobster. Then I moved onto the sweetbreads that were absolutely wonderful. My main course was the bouliabase, which was also perfect. For desert I had the creme brûlée with white chocolate and macadamia nuts. My drink for the evening was a citrus martini mixed to perfection. All in all a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all my foodie friends.

Great for special occasion
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for our wedding anniversary. But, I first checked reviews on-line and they all seemed to be positive. When I got to the restaurant, I was a bit disappointed that the deco was so modern. The building itself is historic and has some great architectural design but surprisingly the interior was decorated very modern. We ordered mussels as an appetizer and they were good but my husband didn't think it was as good as Bone Fish mussels. I ordered Cajun Cod fish and my husband ordered hanger steak. I really liked my fish and my husband's hanger steak was tasty. However, he thought it was little too tough even though I didn't mind it. Overall we thought it was a good experience.

Lives up to billing
A smidge more quiet than I expected on a Saturday night, but the room was warm and toasty made even more so by the arrival of some old school and very traditional French Onion soup. The soup was spot on, bursting with flavor and the right amount of decadent cheese and still chewy baguette bread chunks. Preceded by the delightful lamb loin on cucumber amuse bouche, and followed by a hearty lobster bouillabaisse that was bread sopping delicious. Prices and service in line with any fine Philadelphia dining experience. The wine list is thoughtful, but riddled with $12 retail bottles that sell for $50. On the vino, choose wisely or stick with the wide array of specialty cocktails.

Superb lunch in center city
Such a lovely lunch. The service remarkable! Food great coffee perfect.

It was my husband's birthday and I noted that on Open Table. Amuse manager and waitress wished him a happy birthday. Put a candle on our dessert and treated us extremely well. Food is fantastic and they have that European ambience.

We chose Amuse to celebrated
We chose Amuse to celebrated my daughters 19th birthday. Skuna Bay Salmon was most memorable, the Steak Frites was so tender and the demiglace upped the elegance. The French Omlette was delicate with just enough cherve, PrimeRib Melt was truely melt in your mouth. The soup de jour was a carrot, ginger, coconut and cashew masterpiece, I wanted to eat the entire serving, which was huge and would have ruined my appetite for the generous Lobster Roll that followed. Our server was attentive and didn't rush us, Eric stayed alert to the food sensitivities we mentioned when we arrived. The accustics make it difficult for intimate conversation. A bit too noisey, but even so, I'd definately go again. Our entire party enjoyed the experience.
