Food was excellent, waiter
Food was excellent, waiter was very nice--we had to call him over to order more food. He was not particularly helpful with regard to quantity of food to order. Did not feel the restaurant was as clean as it could be, had a feeling of needing an uplift.

Loved the food!
This place is outstanding! The food is wonderful and selection is fantastic! There pre fix menu is greatly priced. The regular menu is also affordable! Worth the trip!

Eat the yellowtail skip the eel.
Yellow tail with jalapeño was GREAT. Tuna and spicy tuna were good. Eel and avocado hand roll was surprisingly bad (shocking for me, as this is the easiest 'sushi' to do well. The mushroom soup also tasted great and is hard to find elsewhere.

Drinks are overpriced and i was disappointed that the sake menu only offered a small selection of nobu exclusive sakes.

Same as Nobu, no reservations req'd
Have been to Nobu a few times but tried Nobu Next Door when it was booked on a Friday. Food was just as amazing. Menu looked very similar.

We had a great experience at Nobu next door. Food was delicious. The only negative thing is that we were seated next to a big group that was very loudly. Would repeat again for sure!!

Next Door it is!
Having eaten at Nobu several times, this was our first time at Nobu Next Door. It is every bit as good! We actually preferred the warmer decor and ambience here. Food was excellent. We enjoyed some delicious signature dishes including miso black cod, yellowtail with jalapeño and the chocolate bento box (chocolate soufflé with green tea ice cream). Service was friendly and perfectly timed. We enjoyed the corner table by the window with a full view of the restaurant. Our next visit will be Nobu Next Door!

I truly enjoyed the many creations that we ordered. I really wanted to do the Omakase but we didn't have enough time and my friend didn't want to participate in it as well. (Bummer) I will have to return with my husband so we can enjoy that as well. The food was amazing and service was outstanding. I am looking forward to coming back for a special occasion.

Small but satisfying
Even though portions are smaller than your typical restaurant meal, you leave feeling satisfied not stuffed! Presentation and taste is of high quality. My favorite is when they bring the food out to you, they recommend how you eat it for the best flavors and bite!

NYC Restaurant Week opens doors
If it weren't for NYC Restaurant Week, I probably wouldn't have made an effort to get to Nobu Next Door for dinner. The black cod miso was outstanding by itself but coupled with the delicate and crispy strings of I-don't-know-what, it became incredible. The shrimp tempura was not traditional by any means and it was tasty and in ample quantity; however, it did not leave me satisfied because the shrimp were little and my expectation was otherwise. Our waiter was cordial and efficient but he left out every semblance of a personal touch.

Great but cold!!!!!!
The only but............ is that the air conditioning was too cold, It wasn't us only, our neighbors were covering with everything them had to fell comfortable. the food is great! The black Cod a must!!!!!!!!!!

Great food. It was awesome
Great food. It was awesome going for restaurant week and getting to try their signature dishes without having to go too crazy with the bill. It was restaurant week, but service was definitely a little slow and impersonal for what you would expect from Nobu

Good but not special
And maybe that's because we had the restaurant week menu. We did order an item off-menu, eggplant miso, which was good but not anything amazing. I've had better in another restaurants.

Place had good food. Felt a bit rushed by the server but it is a busy place.

Discovering the truth
First; I apologize for my basic english, as I were a tourist in New York...
If the Nobu is a well-known and celebrated restaurant in New York, I read a lot of disapointed comments about his little brother the Nobu Next Door. Personnally, I choose the chef's choice menu, which was really tasteful and surprising. I read a lot about the waiters and the fact that the restaurant was run like a factory but I didn't feel it at all, surely because I went there very early at 6.30 pm.
So for me all the ingredients were there for a successful menu, a very nice and attentive waiter, excellent food and not a crowded restaurant with too loud music. A great moment

Great Omakase Menu
My friends and I went to Nobu Next Door for a celebratory dinner and decided to go all out and order the omakase menu for the table. We requested different selections for each person, so that we did not each end up with the same dishes, and so that we could share and try different things. They did a great job of offering a nice selection across the eight courses. One of their specialties, the black cod miso, was really excellent. The thinly sliced octopus was also very good. Service was attentive, and our waiter gave us helpful advice when ordering the omakase. Would definitely come back here! One of my friends also mentioned that he planned on bringing his wife for a special dinner.

Next door is not second rate
A bit more casual than the original, and more likely you'll snag a table here, the food is every bit as good as the original. (And note, the prices are the same too.) A real treat, go and be impressed.

Great for dinner with friends!
Very attentive service, but not overbearing - waitstaff was terrific, always available when we needed them and invisible otherwise. Spicy rock shrimp a favorite to share - sushi quality outstanding! Definitely a place to go back to!

Tribeca's Fine Dining at Brunch
It was wonderful to discover that Next Door Nobu had such an inventive and exquisite brunch menu. The Artichoke Salad was simply delicious as were the Jidori eggs. The Breakfast Tacos were so good we ordered seconds. I was glad to see that Black Cod was on the menu and that we could order Sinskey's fine Pinot Noir by the half bottle. We look forward to our next visit.

Nobu lives up to expectations
The Food was delicious as expected. Of course we had the Black cod. also Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño, Usuzukuri, Sea urchin tempura and assorted sashimi. Everything was very good with the possible exception of the sea urchin tempura. Nothing wrong with the preparation I just did´nt like its consistence.
A very expensive experience but on the other hand that was expected

Our first time so our server explained the hot and cold dishes are small and made to share. He made some recommendations and we ordered:
The miso cod (amazing)
The mushroom salad (delicious and meatier than it sounds)
Fried rice w/ spicy tuna (deep fried rice cubes w spicy tuna awesome)
jalepeno yellow tail sashimi (spicy and vinegary)
Pumpkin sashimi tempura (not as complex but delicious)
We also had a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll
For dessert we had the bento box and the mochi, both very good.
I also had 3 Johnny walker black, and my girlfriend had a small carafe of hot saki and two glasses of wine.
The total bill came to $310 which included a $50 tip, was a good price for the food and the experience. Will return.

Don't miss it!
Great to return to Nobu...the black cod miso still melts in yr mouth...and the lobster ceviche is "sweet as"! We finished with a sesame infused dessert....you can't go wrong! If it's too hard to choose, ask yr waiter what he/she recommends..,you won't be disappointed!
