Turkish in Baltimore
Booked for a pre-show dinner, so we were there fairly early; it was not crowded but more people were coming in as we left. Interesting decor retains charm of old building with modern urban updates. Attentive service: efficient without being obtrusive; quick and accommodating of our requests. Extensive and inviting menu - lots to chose from, but not overwhelming with clear explanations of dishes. Several mix plates to chose from; some good values for larger groups. All food ordered was very good. Short but nice wine/beer list - several Turkish selections, as well as quality US and international.

Authentic Turkish food
Really a middle eastern food treat with lots of subtle variations on the menu, but kind of cramped space with tables nestling upon each other

Nice Turkish place in Baltimore
This was a nice find on Open Table; quiet place with great food and friendly hosts. Parking on North Charles Street may be a little difficult, but if one is willing to take a short walk, the side streets offer good parking spots. Valet parking is also available for $5. Cazbar also hosts authentic belly-dancing performances on the weekend evenings.

They never disappoint
I have been to Cazbar many times and always leave happy. The food is amazing, the service is great and the ambiance makes for a great dining experience. Try the pomegranate wine!

I was blown away by the quality of my meal – everything was outstanding. We ordered a bunch of small plates and all were top notch. I will definitely be back!

I am never disappointed when I eat at Cazbar. Over the past five years, I have tried most of the menu and everything is always well-prepared, fresh and tasty. This is a great place to eat whether in a group or solo.

We have been here several times now and always had a fantastic experience. Incredibly long list of small plates but also delicious main courses. The grilled meats are a carnivore's delight, but there is a very extensive list of vegetarian dishes as well (they must have at least five different eggplant dishes alone). Everything is flavorful and nicely presented; prices are very reasonable. If you like Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, this place is a very welcome change, as I have had dishes here I haven't seen anywhere else. The desserts always look tempting, but there are so many other dishes to try I never have room to spare. Perhaps next time, which I hope will be soon.

Great Turkish place
very attentive service. lots of warm bread kept coming. essentially, the cuisine is the same as Greek. so if you like that, hit it up
best eggplant salad (babaganoush) I've ever had
the shrimp in feta and tomato was fresh and tasty too.
would surely go again. made me want to go to Istanbul

Nice find in downtown Baltimore
Three of us needed a place for an early weeknight dinner. We found Cazbar on TripAdvisor, and were very pleased with our experience. Good was delicious, service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommend the babaganoush!

Come with me to the Cazbar!
Have always enjoyed eating here. It's a perfect place to stop off after work and the staff are very friendly. The spices are awesome in the food that they prepare and the portions are very generous. In a way, it is probably good that I don't live close by because I'd be in there way too much and probably have to buy a new wardrobe.

Highly recommend this restaurant
Highly recommend this restaurant as it has something for everyone. We started off with the "Three mezzes." which were delicious and included just enough mouthwatering bread to accompany them. I had the lamb shiskabob, moist succulent and delicately flavored. My husband had the calamari which was okay but could have included large pieces of calamari. We shared the apple tart with vanilla ice cream for dessert--really luscious. Our dinner reservation was fairly early so it was still quiet. Very competent and quick service. We have been there for lunch too and it is always excellent. And at dinner they have valet parking so you don't have to worry about finding a parking place.

Good food and friendly staff
I was surprised the hostess said I can wait for the rest of my party at the table. This is unheard of in NYC! If I am early, I usually wait in the bar. I asked the hostess if I can sit upstairs so we can watch the belly dancing show. She was very accomodating and seated me upstairs - which was another plus! Our waiter was very nice and gave me a glass of water right away. He even got my drink order even before my friends showed up. Our waiter made some appetizer, main course and dessert recommendations. I liked the app acili ezme - if you like spicy! Main course: adana kabab - awesome! Baklava - too moist and dripping with honey -I've had better in Dubai. Only thing I did not like were people were smoking hookahs and the smoke got to me.

Wonderful food and great service
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Cazbar. We've had Turkish food a few times before and thought this was better than what we've had. We had an early Sat. eve. dinner so can't speak to noise levels if it was crowded. Staff were very accomodating, turning the fan off for us and everything was with a smile. We plan a return trip.

Went for lunch. Doner sandwich
Went for lunch. Doner sandwich was good, not fantastic. The cup of soup that came with it was the tiniest I've ever seen, plus the taste was nothing to write home about. Saksuka, however, was delicious and the bread that came with it was excellent. Considering only one waitress was working the room, she did an adequate job, but my water glass was not full, when I needed it to be...

Falafel and margarita sandwiches
Falafel and margarita sandwiches are awesome. So is seafood salad. Had a great lunch with my wife. Owner was present and very attentive.

Great Food and Service
My sweetheart and I wanted to give this try during Baltimore's restaurant week, It was delicious. The servings were plentiful and we had enough to take home for another meal. The roasted vegetables with yogurt sauce was terrific. I loved the Turkish decor and the belly dancers at 10:00 were fabulous. The service was great and the restaurant was a cozy incredible neighborhood find. We will definitely be back. Thank you Cazbar staff!

I usually come here at least twice a week for lunch -- it is that good.

Great food and belly dancing
The food was very good and the wine was great. The belly dancing was good entertainment. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food, great decor. service ok
First and foremost the food was VERY good...and quite frankly...isn't that the most important thing. Based on that alone I'd recommend the place. The decor was also very nice as well as how the tables were situated. Uncramped and convenient. Prices were reasonable.
Now for the not so great. Service was only "so-so". Our server was well mannered and professional but they swapped our appetizers and since we were unfamilar with Turkish food in general we didn't recognize it until we are almost done eating them. They forgot a drink order I had made...buu the time they realized it I was already finished with my dessert so I told them nevermind. To polish off the night the valet brought us the wrong vehicle. A pickup instead of an Audi?
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food at Cazbar is consistently delicious and the service is great!

Best meal in years!
Excellent Turkish food. Everything outstanding. One could order all appetizers and have a fabulous meal. They were extremely accommodating with my gluten free needs as well. 11 out of 10!!

Better Than Expected
We booked Cazbar because it had 1000 points. We were very pleasantly surprised at the total experience.
The food was excellent. I had a lamb dish that had no typical lamb flavor . Tender and delicious.
My wife's meal was also excellent.
We'd go back in a heartbeat. Very friendly service.

Turkish Delight in Baltimore
Want to bring back memories of Istanbul? Want to find out what visiting Istanbul would be like? Then just drop by Cazbar and have a great Turkish dinner-their lamb is the best. As is their Turkish pumpkin soup, desserts, and coffee. Remember, they do use middle eastern spices. Have returned several times and they always deliver.
8/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
No complaints about any of the food. It was all wonderful. The fruit wine was like sangria with a bit of spice that made it special. Definitely returning, hopefully staying late enough to catch some of the belly dancing.

Outstanding Turkish cuisine
A friend and I tried this place for dinner in early September.
My friend ordered the Doner Kebap (shaved strips of lamb and beef) and raved about it. I had a similarly outstanding experience with the Adana Kebap (ground lamb w/ spices). The portions are generous. The rice is very well-seasoned and delicious; I am not one who eats much rice, but I would come back for a bowl of rice here any day. The service is very friendly and courteous, perhaps a bit unpolished (late teens/early 20s) but they took great care of us. Prices are very reasonable for quality and portions of food; dinner for 2 plus a couple of beers and we got out of there for $65 including 20% tip. I'll definitely be back.

Great first time...
...trying Turkish food! I am glad we went here for my girlfriend's birthday. We love trying different cuisines and this was a great introduction. We will definitely return.
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is a small restaurant that can be easily missed going by it on the street. The food is quite tasty, very exotic flavors, but it's a little over priced. The service is exceptional; all the wait staff checked in on us without being annoying.

Solid restaurant experience
The food was great - truly authentic and well cooked. The staff was knowledgeable and efficient. The ambience was so so but the belly dancers were great.

Food very good. Menu has changed
Food very good. Menu has changed a bit, and as with most changes, it looks like that means higher prices. Not sure if I can afford to visit as often anymore.

We sat against the wall next to Hookah bar and I smelled smoke throughout my visit. Service was friendly, knowledgable but slow. Food was good, a littl better than average I suppose. Prices were 30% higher than expexcted. I did like the atmosphere.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Always a good choice...
Our latest visit to Cazbar was just as good as our previous ones. We had very good service and the food like always, was very good. I did notice that one particular item on the menu, the Turkish Tour had a significant rise in price. It used to be $39, but is now $50. However, the price is not updated on the website menu.
We have tried various items from the menu and haven't been disappointed in anything we've ordered.
Recommend Cazbar for a nice casual evening out. Parking can be a bit tricky as the street spots fill up quickly and you may have to circle the block a few times before you'll be able to find a spot.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Slow. Service and a bit pricey. Very good lamb and appetizers.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
I went to Cazbah with tow of my girlfriends on a Saturday evening. We shared several "mezas" which were delicious. The portions were just the right size to fill up, but not overeat. The wine selection was fabulous and our waiter was very attentive and made perfect recommendations. The bill at the end of the night was very reasonable and that was with a bottle of wine.

love to bring guests from out of town here and we always have an incredible time! thank you for your hospitality and wonderful food!!

A fun night after a bumpy start
We arrived to a fairly empty restaurant on a Friday evening with a party of six. After a brief unpleasant experience being seated at an uncomfortable table, and having to argue in order to be moved, we were accommodated at a nice table with an excellent, attentive server. Our table ordered and enjoyed the chicken kebobs, a variety of pides, and the mixed grill. We also had 2 appetizer sized orders of manti, which were delicious! I would suggest if you make a reservation, and you want to hear each other speak, to ask for a table which is not in what they call the "lounge."
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
We were looking for Turkish food and belly dancing on Saturday night in Baltimore and the Cazbar exceeded our meager expectations. The upstairs lounge is darkly lit and intimate. Others are smoking hookah but its not bad, it just lends the air a sweet smell and makes night unique. We had an Italian wine (under $30) and the eggplant roll and zuchinni appetizers they were both delicious with fresh ingredients. The appetizers also came with a very good bread, which was almost like pizza dough. For our main course we shared the chicken saute which came with rice and a salad and to finish we had turkish coffee and baklava. The coffee came in the most beautiful silver vessels. It was a very fun find in the heart of Baltimore. We will be back!

My fiancé took me here for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helped navigate us through the menu. We stayed to watch the belly dancer and he made sure to extend the service so that could happen. The belly dancer did an amazing job as well! My fiancé an I each got 2 drinks, appetizer, entrees and each got dessert and were very impressed by the bill. We expected to pay a good amount more for such great food. The lounge was dimly lit and decorated beautifully which made for a great date night.

decadent place, great food
I luv different types of food from all cultures and this one you must try. The hostess and the waitress was very knowledgeble about the menu and excited to have us there. The waitress was helpful in helping us to decide our choices. But the promise from both was that we would luv it. The food is very good truly. The lamb was tender and you didn't need anything to luv the rice. The drinks were awesome as well. They have their own twists along with their own list of Turkush liquors. You won't be disappointed. Its more of an intimate or private restaurant not for families with kids. Its more intimate which is what I truly like. also has an upstairs with belly dancing entertainment. afriend or your special loved one. You will luv it.

I chose this spot for my friend’s
I chose this spot for my friend’s birthday party and requested to have a great table where we could enjoy the belly dancers. One out of our friend’s is very hard to please. To my surprise, she had nothing bad to say about Cazbar. She right away liked the ambiance. She ate every bit of her food from her plate. This in itself is a testament to this amazing place. The belly dancers were amazing. They interacted with the audience which was very well received. Everybody of my friends wants to come back as soon as possible.

Exceptional Turkish food
The Sultan Platter (small for 2 people, large for 4 people) is an absolute bargain at $65 (small). The mixed Meze plate includes babaganoush, hummus, and a few other cold Turkish mezzes that are fresh and delicious; the bread they provide to eat these with is also very good. Then the main course comes with the works and the rice is amazing. For dessert you get rice pudding. For about $33 per person, I challenge you to find a better deal for the quality and quantity of food in a large metro area. I love it here. The service is also excellent. The servers/waiters are generally younger (early 20s) and are attentive, friendly, and courteous. I’ve been 3 times in 2 months and will be back again.

I love dining at Cazbar! The manager recognizes me and the waitress is beautiful. Everything on the menu is good!

Mt. Vernon stalwart
Pleasant decor, great wait staff, very enjoyable ethnic foods with a good mix of veggie and vegan dishes one would not ordinarily associate with Turkish cuisine (in addition to the lamb and beef staples one would), Cazbar does a great job of making you feel at home and serving food that pleases the palate at very reasonable prices. the appetizers and desserts alone are worth a visit, and everything else tastes equally fresh and home-made. The location is too often overlooked, unfortunately, when thinking of Mt. Vernon eateries as being North of the square, but it deserves a place among the few most welcoming and enjoyable ones.
