Luigi is a fantastic chef and his restaurant is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Seattle!

UW Graduation Dinner
We had a graduation dinner there for our daughter last Saturday night. There were eight of us. Luigi greeted us as soon as we sat down. He was very accommodating in we had never been there before and asked if we would like to have "fun with food" and the tone was set. He proceeded to serve a family style meal of some of most delicious food we have ever had. With dessert he brought an Italian sparkling wine that was to die for. This is a small unpretentious diamond. Weather you have an occasion or are looking for a unique place for dinner this is it. Go, have fun, and enjoy.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a superlative dinner at Al Boccalino at the foot of Yesler Ave. We highly recommend later evening - just quiet enough to enjoy our conversation, but infused with ambient sound. Our corner table, looking out on the port through the soon "to be remembered" Viaduct, even suggested romance, despite the construction.
The food was terminal - to die for! We both love Italian food and this was the best. The polite and ingratiating waiter kept asking if we were ready for dessert, but, in the phrase my wife abhors: we "worked on it" to empty plates, sharing our dishes throughout. After that, the Tiramisu and Canneloni left us rolling our eyes with satiation.
Al Boccalino is not to be missed. We may see you there.

This place is a real gem
Al Boccalino offers up an authentic and incredibly vibrant Italian dining experience. The outstanding food and service are further complimented by the comfortable, family-style setting. Our entire group had an excellent time.

Best Tiramisu ever!
We had the fixed price dinner, which had a good choice of dishes. Everything we ate was excellent. We plan to go back!

A Special Treat
We love Italian food and have been to Italy many times. When we saw that the special menu for August was from Sardinia we knew we had to try it since we've never been to this region. The menu sounded wonderful so off we went. It was wonderful. Since it was also my birthday weekend we were treated to the "honored guest tabe" and were truly treated as "special". It's great to try regional Italian specialties as every region has different specailties. Thanks for a wonderful birthday treat.

Hidden Gem in Pioneer Square
Best Italian food in Seattle. Try the gnocchi with lamb ragu. The gnocchi melt in your mouth!

Soup was excellent, and pastas quite tasty. Service seemed distracted. We enjoyed our evening. Crusty owner, but we guessed that was intended as part of the ambiance.

Good but too fast
Very good food but they always bring out the main course before you have finished the first one. We have eaten dinner there three times and they have done it every time. The tables are not even large enough to handle that many plates!

Loved this little restaurant. Great food and service. The dining area isn't big, yet the table arrangement provides for plenty of privacy. The cooking classes they provide sounded like fun, but we were there just for dinner, which didn't disappoint. Matthew, our server, was wonderful. Solid little establishment.
