Was in DC for a conference
Was in DC for a conference and met my daughter who attends college locally for dinner. We thought this was going to be just a good "burger and a beer joint" but we're pleasantly surprised by the very professional service and the wide menu choices. We had a very nice dinner and although not a gourmet dining experience, this was an all around nice local bar with some excellent menu choices. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was properly cooked and very tasty.

Alice & Mimosas...My Favorites!!
Considering I LOVE Alice in Wonderland, this place was lovely to come across on the internet when searching for places to eat one weekend in March when my boyfriend & I were visiting from New Jersey. I recommend making reservations because when we got there for our 1:30 res. it was packed! We were seated quickly, but waited at the table for a good ten minutes before someone noticed that we weren't being served. From there on out, our server was quite attentive & came back plenty of times to refill my (champagne-heavy) mimosas! My boyfriend ordered the Eggs Benedict (like he always does when we're out for breakfast/brunch) & he said they were some of the best they've had. My waffle was pretty good too, I must say. Definitely going back!

Cheap, fun brunch & happy hour
Great place for casual brunch. Food was good, drinks were plentiful, & the price was right. Drink specials: Bloody Mary Bar $7 (very generous pour), $12 Unlimited Mimosas; $10 Unlimited Champagne. Entrées were $7-16 & pretty good. The food isn't gourmet/exciting, but it's enjoyable. I wouldn't pick it for a special occasion, but would go back often, since it's so cheap. Chill atmosphere, pretty young crowd, but not rowdy.
Happy hour is always been good there. Once again, good drinks, good food, good prices. Not my favorite place, but it's definitely a place I would go back to. I also worked with them to plan a non-profit fundraising happy hour there; they were great to work with! I really appreciated how welcoming and helpful they were.

Very pleased with the Madhatter
My group went to Madhatter for brunch on our last day of our DC trip before heading to the airport. After spending hundo's at almost every restaurant during the trip, it was nice to get to a restaurant that offered good food for decent prices. I even splurged and got the steak and eggs, which was still less than $15. Can't beat that! The other stuff on the menu looked good too. My friend got the pancakes and they looked great.
On our particular day, it was not crowded at all at 11:15. By the time we left it was getting a little more crowded but still not bad. I would certainly recommend this place.
One complaint: my friends that got coffee said it wasn't very hot, but it wasn't a huge deal.

Had a good time. Place has a Bloody Mary bar, which is great! Great price on the bottomless champagne or Mimosa. Great selection on brunch menu.
Only negative was being greeted by a hostess with a mouth full of food and chewing while talking/walking us to our table...

The food and the total dining
The food and the total dining experience was outstanding.

Loved the tea service to start.
Loved the tea service to start. Service was a little slow but worth the wait because the food was quite delicious. We had pulled pork nachos and shared a pasta dish --both were delicious. Music was a bit loud, and the back room wasn't very quaint, both otherwise a very nice meal.

Good food at great prices
Love this place, unfortunately the omelet station was closed this time :-( good food at great prices and great service as always!!! You will never be able to beat $9 unlimited mimosas made with champagne that doesn't give you a headache the next day! Awesome place!

Good food, service was a bit
Good food, service was a bit lacking - we had to hunt down our waitress and when she came to our table, she left without everyone getting their requests in. The resataurant wasnt full, it just seemed short-staffed. She was gracious to split the checks up. Only one stall in women's WC was working. We waited quite a while for the food, but when it arrived it was hot and tasty.

Awesome brunch gathering. Great prices and a great times. I went with the eggs benedict alaskan. I was very pleased along with the bottemless mimosas!

Went there for brunch with a friend. Solid food, but nothing outstanding. Had the Eggs Alaskan and she had the Eggs any way you want with bacon and hash browns. Server was generally very good and attentive. Ambiance is nice for brunch and the interior with it's high wooden ceilings is great to dine at.

Great DC Brunch Spot
With the warmer weather, the outdoor dining was open even for morning Sunday brunch. Although the waitress seemed inexperienced, she was friendly and attentive. Both the eggs benedict and crab cake sandwich were tasty and well prepared with excellent home and french fries, along with unlimited champagne and mimosas, it is a great deal in a great location at Dupont Circle.

Great food and ambiance!
Limited outdoor seating, but if you can snag a table it's great! Service was a little slow outdoors but all the servers were super friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. Im even having my birthday party there next week, hopefully outdoors!!! If you cant tell I love eating outside :)

I think the hostess forgot
I think the hostess forgot about us for about fifteen minutes or so, but it was very busy, so I wasn't horribly offended. As always the servers were amazing and attentive.

Perfect trifecta hangover helper
They have an amazing Bloody Mary bar. There are also bottomless mimosa's available.

Great for any ocassion.
I've been to this restaurant twice now for two very different occasions and both times provided me with a great experience. The setting is excellent for a cute date where you want to get fun drinks and talk about wonderlandesque stories; or for just a general hang out celebration where you can talk, drink, unwind and cheer for your baseball team on the big screen. The staff was also very accommodating. We started outside but got chilly and they made the transition very easy and I didn't feel like that obnoxious picky customer.

Had a nice brunch here 5/19/2013.
Had a nice brunch here 5/19/2013. My first time here. Crowd was young, mostly, and it seems Mad Hatter caters to a 20something crowd most of the time, with the kitchen accommodating adults at brunch. Not that that's a bad thing.

Good but poor mimosas.
I took a group of 11 to Mad Hatter for my birthday brunch. I had two separate reservations (one for 5 and one for 6) and they accommodated us and put us all at the same table which was really nice. Food was great and came out fast. However the unlimited mimosas were very weak and there was a two hour time limit. I felt like we were drinking straight OJ. As we left, we noticed some people had gotten pitchers of OJ and champagne bottles to make their own. If we knew that, we would have started that way from the beginning. But all in all it was a good time.

fantastic french toast and
fantastic french toast and the unlimited mimosas are perfect for brunch.

Pancakes, pancakes, pancakes!!!
I had the banana pancakes and they were perfect! Nice and fluffy and huge! (I'm easy to please aren't I?) I've had some horrible pancakes at some places, but MadHatter makes'em the old school way. To top it off the orange juice was fresh squeezed.
6/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
My French toast with bacon and home fries were delicious! Food is inexpensive. I will be back!

Simply divine . . .
The food at Madhatter was simply divine. I went for brunch and was more than happy with the food, the service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. While the food was delicious, the service was outstanding, excellent, and superb! I highly recommend the restaurant, especially the brunch and the bottomless mimosas. The "make your own" Bloody Mary bar was pretty cool too.

A Brunch Mecca
I'd easily recommend the Madhatter and its diner-style environment for Sunday brunch. The traditional eggs bennie was well prepared and did not disappoint.

The food was very delicious
The food was very delicious and the service was friendly and fast -- however, the prices were a bit high compared to other brunch locations in the area that offer unlimited mimosas and unlimited food options.

Best Tex-Mex Burrito Ever!!
I like to consider myself a breakfast burrito aficionado and the Tex Mex burrito at Madhatter is by far my favorite. The $12 bottomless mimosas were another great draw and my waitress never let my glass get more than half empty before refilling.

I've been to Madhatter a few times for brunch on Sunday and I must say the food is amazing!! It's al la carte and the menu has alot of options to choose from. The offer unlimited bloody Mary's , champagne , and mimosa for a low life compared to most other places that offer brunch in DC. The decor of the restaurant is absolutely amazing. There are many posters and pictures from the movie Alice in Wonderland. The food comes out pretty quickly and the service is good. I highly recommend this place for young, old , groups, and families .

Great brunch with unlimited drinks
This isn't a gourmet spot for foodies, but it's a great quality standard brunch. Varied menu with every brunch food you could want, as well as a lunch menu. I'm always on the look out for brunch with good value-this is one of my new favorite brunch spots in DC - unlimited champagne ($10) or mimosas ($12). When I was there last week they kept us stocked with 1-2 bottles at all times, which we thought was really great. Some places you have to track your waiter down to refill your mimosas. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food as well. I definitely recommend Madhatter for brunch or lunch. It's a great (affordable! that's key in DC) option and I'll be returning. Just make sure you make a reservation on the weekends - it gets packed.

Madhatter is outstanding
Excellent service. The tea and food were amazing. Great for families, a group of friends, or couples. Exceptional bar. Service was absolutely fantastic. Great environment.

Went for Sunday brunch with a group of 5. We had a reservation. If we had a smaller group, we probably wouldn't have needed it. It was pretty empty when we arrived. We sat on the upstairs level which stayed pretty empty. Our booth had a very strange bench:table ratio, but we made it work. They have several varieties of eggs benedict that were tried in our group, and a couple of people had the chicken & waffles. Everyone was happy with their meal. Our server gave us an extra carafe of mimosa after we had paid our bill.

I recently visited for brunch this past Saturday. Didn't have to wait long for a table at all. Our server was named Freddy and he was quick to offer us drinks and check to see if we wanted to order anything while we waited for another person. Once we ordered food it came out fairly quickly. One person's food wasn't as hot as the other plates at the table, but she still enjoyed her food regardless. Going to the Madhatter is a special treat we give ourselves every month or so and I definitely can't wait to go again!

Great for a lively brunch
My friend suggested Madhatter as a fun and energetic place to meet for brunch. Typical in DC, I decided to make a reservation and OpenTable made it easy. Upon arrival our table was immediately available and I was seated without my entire party present. I like that. They soon did arrive and the friendly hostess brought them to our table. Service was solid. Portions were a good size and reasonably priced. Atmosphere was energetic. I look forward to our next brunch.

Food is always delicious. I love going to brunch here. Food is inexpensive and makes my tummy happy. Steal and egg burrito and French toast are my favorites.

Great late-night find in NW. The bars closest to our hotel closed a bit early for DC, but Madhatter stayed open until 2a. I ordered the fish tacos and a garden salad- both were good. The drinks were decent. We would go back!!
