We had steak & pork dishes
We had steak & pork dishes with onion soup and salads as appetizers. The onion soup was the best we have ever had. The steak melted in our mouths and the pork was tender and moist.
I brought my own wine, corkage fee $ 15.00. They had opened it at my instructions 45 minuets prior to our 7pm reservations and the wine was perfect.
Our waiter Brad did a great job.
It was a wonderful 30th anniversary.

My husband and I had a lovely
My husband and I had a lovely time at Top of the Park's Easter Brunch. We went for the 2:00 seating and some of the displays did not look as nice as they probably did first thing in the morning, but everything still tasted good. The views were beautiful and the live music was very nice and relaxing. Highlights for me were the mimosas, shrimp cocktail, and the mushroom ravioli. The service was great too. We'd like to go back for dinner or lunch to try their regular menu.

Perhaps I'll give it a second chanc
As a first time customer, we did not know the layout of the restaurant. We were ushered to a table near the bar which was less than ideal. When we went to the buffet area, we found another area of the restaurant that was the desirable place to be; outdoor, sheltered but with full views. I obviously recommend that customers determine whether they would like outdoor dining or not and specify such when making their reservation.
The food itself was better than average, but not great. The 3 choices of carved meats were overcooked and therefore dry. The tomato and mozzarella cheese was bad. The cold shrimp and crab were excellent as were the desserts. Overall, for a holiday brunch close to Balboa Park which was our next destination, it was OK.

We enjoyed the restaurant
We enjoyed the restaurant very much. We were early dinners and left the restaurant about 7:00 pm. The music ( piano and vocal) was just starting. We wished we could have stayed longer, however, we had theater tickets. We plan to go again!! The dinners were a mix of young and old. We fit in the older classification.

The Piano bar attached to
The Piano bar attached to thedining room had an "eclectic" vibe the night we were there. The duo performing "Ria & Rick", were quite good and we ended up having a night-cap in the bar after dinner!
My only complaint; while my steak was very well prepared and cooked perfectly, it was far smaller than the 8 ounces it claimed to be on the menu... The chicken my partner ordered on the other hand, wasa generous portion and EXCELLENT.

It's All In @ Inn at the Park
We were impressed at the changes @ The Inn, having enjoyed many past dinners there. The decor, white linen accentuated by purples/yellows & colorful paintings, blew us away! The best ts yet to come! Our server Frank anticipated/fulfilled our every request - he was one of the professional/pleasant waiters we have met in many years!. The wine was sippingly delicious, the Caesar salad tastefully tart & highlighted by a fresh anchovie! The main entree of pork bucco/mashed potatoes/spring vegetables/morel mushrooms/wine was incredible. The other great dinner was a large rib-eye steak, rare, spring vegetables/wine/mushroom gravy. Although we had no time for a dessert, there will be many more opportunities! The Inn will be a regular occasion!

top of the park is tops for brunch
It's too bad they only do the brunch for special occasions. It's a terrific brunch and I and others wish they had the brunch more frequently.

Delicious food and service
Our server was very attentive and major compliments to the chef. I had the scallops dish for dinner and it was amazing. They have rooftop dining for lunch only so I have to come back for that. The bar area was packed and they had piano playing and singing on Saturday night with good tunes. The restaurant area was very nice jazzy feel and elegant touch. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent Customer Service!
Great experience! Service was excellent! From the young lady who seated us, to the bus boy who constantly came by and our waiter Frank who provided EXCELLENT service! This is one special restaurant! They also had live entertainment and the duo was Wonderful!

Restaurant Week with Friends
I went to 525 at the Inn at the Park with 5 other people for Restaurant Week. Their menu sounded very intriguing. Somd great sounding dishes.
The place was pretty full with a piano player and singer entertaining the restaurant. Fun atmosphere.
I had the shellfish tasting as my first course. Unfortunately the broth was super salty and the mussels were fishy and barely open. Not a good sign. The clam was good.
The Black Angus Beef course made up for the disappointing appetizer. It was delicious. Both the beef cheek and the short ribs were awesome. The bone marrow was a rich addition.
Dessert was average.
Overall a good experience. Worth a try.

First time to this refurbished
First time to this refurbished older hotel/inn, now a boutique hotel with new name....been living here for decades and never frequented this spot, but Restaurant Week provided the impetus. We liked the intimacy, lively vibe with piano bar and scene.
Our three course meal was very tasty, wine flight with courses well matched....enjoyed a new wine, Acacia Unoaked Chardonnay.
