The restaurant was great,
The restaurant was great, the bar, which is adjacent, was an absolute madhouse. We had a great table so the noise was minimal in comparison. Waiter was great, bought us a desert wine, the food was yummy.

The bar scene was very loud
The bar scene was very loud but the food and service were very good once we were seated in the restaurant area.

Lovely lunch spot with great pasta
I come here often for business lunches. Unique salads and pastas. Good wine list. Attentive service.

Great food & sunshine on the patio
The food here was actually really good. I had only been here for drinks when the place was overcrowded (which is every Friday). The service wasn't gret, but good enough.

Great place for dinner
Met a friend here for dinner on a Wednesday night. The bar was pretty busy, with a lot of folks gathering in the outside patio area. I had the Salmon - it was delicious. Also had the mozarella appetizer - it was a bit smaller than I expected (not really suitable to share) but it was pretty good.

Loud dining roon
Food was good but the noise level for a business discussion was too high.

Better than expected brunch
We didn't check the breakfast/brunch menu because it was a last minute decision. However the wait staff and kitchen were very helpful and were more than happy to accommodate our dietary requirements. The food was better than the food in average brunch places in hotels around town which showed in the satisfied patrons around us. The prices were also not too bad, although for better value they could offer set menus.
We will definitely be back if we have a brunch appointment around the Embarcadero- it beats fighting the crowds at the Ferry Building!

I had a delicious lunch. I
I had a delicious lunch. I reviewed the menu online and had decided to have either a pizza or a yellowtail panini. However, when I arrived and saw the pastas (which weren't on the online menu), I decided to have the mafalde (spelling?) which turned out to be a wise decision. It was like a carbonara with greens instead of peas, prosciutto, trumpet mushrooms in a superb cream sauce and topped with a perfectly prepared egg. The mafalde was like curly fettucine. For dessert I had the outstanding fried peach pie which was similar to a turnover. I highly recommend Americano and can't wait to go back!

During the summer I always
During the summer I always enjoy having lunch in the outside terrace area of Americano. Whether you choose to eat a tasty salad or enjoy one of their delicous pastas, Americano’s menu always offers a variety of lunch options to tantalize your taste buds. I look forward to my next meal on the terrace.

We stayed at the hotel and had the pleasure of a few meals at Americano. We especially loved all the appetizers and the hand crafter cocktails were spot on. The service was impeccable and so friendly during each experience. Great outdoor space with views of the bay, ferry building, and the bridge.

Romantic Dinner for Two
I keep coming back to this restaurant. The food here is great. Of the three appetizers we ate, (all were great) the padron peppers were the biggest surprise. They were not at all spicy, had great flavor and were topped with some fleur de sel. My albcore was cooked a perfect rare and went well with the black quinoa, tomato and arugula. I tried my wife's hand made pasta and it was so fresh and light. The wines that our server recommended went great with dinner. We had a table away from everyone with a nice view of the patio and the Ferry Building in the background. The service here is top notch. They are very attentive and took great care of us. We look forward to coming back again!

More casual than expected
Noisier than expected too on a Thursday night. Dining room noise level was better. Food was good, especially the duck pasta and the halibut. Those little peppers with lots of sea salt are terrific! Remade our cocktails without complaint. Oops. No blue cheese olives?

Excellent, excellent food
Imaginative, yet not exotic takes on traditional Italian, with fresh local ingredients. This was a first class dining experience.

Great Brunch place
If the weather is nice, this could be my new goto for Brunch in the city.
Great service, food, selection for multiple food issues (low sodium, vegan, etc.)

4 women met for lunch at Americano Restaurant. We loved it! They have a great lunch menu and a special where you can pair soup and paninni or risotto with fruit and cookies for under $20. Or you can order ala carte as well. We all loved our meals. Noise level was quiet enough so we could talk. Definitely recommend for modern, delicious food, and very nice ambiance. I will go again.

Good food and ambience
Visiting San Francisco from LA. The Black Cod was melt in our mouth good and the special pasta with roasted cauliflower was amazing. Would definitiely recommend.

wonderful dining experience
We had been visiting Napa Valley for several wine tastings. We love Free Mark Abbey so we visited the wine tasting. Miguel was the wine expert there and we had a great time. When we were leaving we told him we were going to San Fransisco for a couple of days and if he could recommend any restaurants there. He immediately mentioned Americano as being one of his favorites. Much to our delight he was right on. The wait staff and hostess were extremely attentive and eager to please. Our hostess upon hearing about Miguel and Barry at Free Mark Abbey recommending her restaurant brought us out an awesome array of desserts. We had a great dinner in San Fransisco!!

Found myself in San Francisco over Thanksgiving. Fine fixed menu offering with nice choices, traditional to seafood. Nice wine pairing with each course and very fair value.

Loved the appetizers the most.
Loved the appetizers the most. We were happy to have a table where you could see the Bay Bridge, at least in part. I also enjoyed breakfast here, outside, after running the SF Marathon. What a treat.

Excellent Food with a View to Match
I had a wonderful birthday dinner at the Americano. The service was excellent and the view on this sparkling, sunny day was wonderful. My companion and I started with a complimentary arancini. We shared a seafood risotto which had an incredible sauce that you wanted to mop up every drop of essence. We then shared a sea bass with prawn gnochetti and asparagus bits. This dish just shouted Spring! For dessert, I enjoyed the chocolate budino with salted caramel bits and creme fraiche whipped cream. My companion had the chocolate and peanut butter pot de creme. The staff was so nice. The maitre'd brought out my birthday budino with a lit candle on it and the server wished me a happy birthday at the beginning and end of the service. Great meal!
